@Zedling: Er... that name is kind of weird. ^^; Also, while there's certainly magical girls coming from other countries, I'd like to remind everyone that it makes the most sense to have a majority of Japanese magical girls, and that girls from other countries should have some explanation behind them going to Japan for the Hex Night.

1. The monsters are essentially mass buildups of negative emotions that take on a variety of physical forms. They can sort of "dampen" people's positive emotions with their presence but are mostly physical attackers.

2. There is a fairy that handles making people into magical girls.

He was getting ready to fight. It wasn't as if this was entirely unfamiliar to Youmu. Far from it, in fact. The half-phantom gardener had experienced such scenarios before. Because of the nonlethal nature of combat in Gensokyo, it was often certain residents' first option in any strange situation. To simply jump immediately to fighting, even if it seemed entirely unnecessary. Youmu herself couldn't exactly say she didn't sometimes enjoy such scenarios, even if she tried to be more reasonable at times. The simple fact was that she was able to practice her training in such situations, to put her skills to use. As a member of the Konpaku family, this capability filled her with pride.

But... was this how the outside world operated as well? Youmu hadn't thought so, and he seemed to be just as confused as she was... did that mean that he was also lost in this place? The more she looked at him, the more she realized how he simply didn't fit in this location. Was he from elsewhere as well...?

"... I have no idea what is happening," she replied, curtly, "But if you insist on a fight, then I will prepare myself."

Even as the small silvery-haired girl placed a hand on the hilt of Roukanken, she decided not to attempt to lethally injure her opponent. Not only was Youmu unused to attempting to kill others, but this man was her only link to what had happened.

She had to return to Yuyuko-sama.

Abigail Williams

Abigail didn't know what was going to happen. If her Master wasn't here, would she disappear? She couldn't figure out where Master was... She'd wanted to help her more, she wanted to have fun with her Master, and her friends. But she was lost and alone, in some strange place like this. Well, no, it wasn't any more strange then some of the places she had seen since coming to Chaldea, but the fact that she was alone here exaggerated the sight of everything around her.

But then, she heard a voice calling to her, asking as gently as she could if she had somehow been transported here as well. Immediately, Abigail turned towards the source of the voice and discovered it was an older girl in some kind of cloak, some sort of outfit that didn't match the clothing of anyone else around her. Was she a Servant? She didn't seem like one, at least not one that Abigail recognized. After a moment, the small girl weakly nodded. This lady was trying to be nice, at least, and she was the only who seemed like she might know what was going on...

But then, everyone started running. When Abigail turned to see what they were running from, her blue eyes widened in shock and fear as she saw people falling to the ground, cut and wounded. Possibly dead... and... and two figures, both cloaked in darkness with blank red eyes. They were almost like those shadow Servants. Trembling slightly, Abigail shook her head. If her Master was here, she'd have jumped into action to try and protect the innocent bystanders! And Abigail herself didn't want to see innocent people get hurt like that either!

Glowing portals opened around her head immediately, and suddenly what appeared to be brilliant tendrils of light exploded from them. but before she could try and attack the shadowy one of them charged right for her!

Abigail immediately had the tendrils curve inwards, creating a barrier between herself and the woman's weapon in order to defend herself. She was a little more confident when it came to fighting, now, so she knew she could counter as soon as she blocked the bad lady!

@Ammokkx: Magical girls can come from all walks of life, it's based on a few different things. There's an inherent potential that varies from girl to girl, but also a girl who is determined, has a lot of drive, that sort of thing, they tend to make good magical girl candidates.

Basically, it can be any girl, so don't worry about that part too much.

Skills are basically mundane things your character is good at, abilities is magical girl powers.

• Name: Hoshino Hikari
• Age: 16
• Gender: Female
• Appearance: Like her magical girl appearance, except obviously in a more normal outfit without a massive hammer. Her hair is dark brown, and her eyes are also brown. She is very short and child-like in appearance.
• Personality: A stubborn girl with a hot temper, Hikari seems like the aggressive and irritable type through and through. It would be difficult to claim otherwise, given that she's the type to get angry at others easily and is swift to complain or deride them for perceived stupidity. However, in spite of all these facts, deep down Hikari has another side. Her stubborn nature makes her dedicated to ideas she adheres herself to, and deep down she has a genuine desire to help people. Deep down, Hikari has dreamed of being a hero who can save others. As a result, she'd jump at the option to become one, even if she doesn't always thing other people are particularly intelligent either. Hikari is fond of sweets, and baked goods as well, and can sometimes be persuaded by these things. Her extremely stubborn nature makes it nearly impossible to make her genuinely give up on anything that she's dedicated herself to, as well. In spite of this irritable and stubborn nature, Hikari is easily flustered and has a jealous streak towards anyone taller and more mature then herself. Indeed, she hates being mistaken for a child.
• Skills: Hikari is decent at physical activities and does well in most of her classes.
• Brief Backstory: Hikari was born into a fairly normal family. For much of her early life she was fairly average as well. However, when she was only eight years old, she nearly lost her father in a car accident. Trapped under the wreckage, she thought she was going to die, until someone saved her and her father. Dazed and confused, she didn't figure out who. But someone had pulled her out before anyone else arrived. This incident left a strong impression on her. She had been relatively unscathed, and while her father's legs were damaged he managed to survive and regain most of the use of them. As a result, she was left with a desire to someday return the favor. In spite of this, that didn't change her rather surly disposition. But it did give her a dream deep down... A dream she would jump at the chance to fulfill.

  • Archetype: Uchide no Kozuchi(Miracle Mallet)
  • Abilities: Hikari is a strong and fast melee-based magical girl. Her abilities are largely centered on her hammer. She can create barriers as well, but most of her focus is purely on overwhelming melee attacks. Her hammer can change in size and destructive force. Additionally, the rear of her hammer can fire off fireworks, both as a booster for her hammer strikes as well as an attack in its own right. She can also power up her melee attacks in mid-swing by yelling 'Tamaya', which intensifies her fireworks. Her attacks include...
    • Tanabata Shooting Star: Hikari's hammer erupts with fireworks that surround her body, sending her rocketing forward to close distance, break through obstacles, and deliver a crushing downward blow with an enlarged hammer.
    • Hanami Blossom Breaker: A barrier-breaking strike, the head of Hikari's hammer is accelerated with a blast of powerful fireworks and swung directly into the target barrier. The impact causes it to shatter in a manner that resembles a flower.
    She does not yet possess her strongest attacks, due to being unaware of her Archetype.
