Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Mihama Nanako

The first thing she heard was that song.

For a few moments, both the protest of her still-agonized body and her bleary, sleep-deprived mind made it nearly impossible to recognize. But then, after a few moments she slowly began to piece together a few basic facts. The first being that the song was coming from her phone, and the second that she did recognize it.

It was the theme that BB had used, playing in place of her usual morning alarm.

"... Ah..."

Nanako's body felt like lead. She hadn't slept, not really. She felt as if, perhaps, she had passed out for a very brief period of time, but the alarm had jogged her out of it. That night... the whole night was pain. She had never imagined it was possible to feel that kind of pain. And it had all been because... because...

Because Meltryllis hated her. She'd wanted to try and forge a bond with her Servant. She'd wanted to try and make her Servant happy to have been summoned by her, to make sure it was a good partnership. But in reality, all she had done was destroy her own chances at such an outcome, hadn't she? Nanako had no idea what to think of Meltryllis's actions. But certainly, unquestionably, they were the result of the things that Nanako herself had done.

She had failed. She'd finally summoned a Servant, and failed utterly to become someone that Servant could be satisfied with as her Master.

Unsteadily, operating on a night without true sleep, Nanako made her way wordlessly to the shower.

She spent a considerable amount of time in there, alone, far longer then usual. When she finally left, she dressed herself rather haphazardly and slowly made her way out of her bedroom.

She didn't try to make breakfast. She didn't even try to speak to Meltryllis. If her Servant hated her that much, then why would she even want to talk to her?

Okay, I can edit the post if you need more, I just couldn't quite figure out anything big to have happen during the day given the nature of magical girls and the Hex Night.
For one girl, her exploration over the forest yielded little... except, perhaps, what seemed almost like an illusory glimpse of some sort of mansion...

For another, the two confused children seemed to reluctantly agree to the idea of teaming up, though it was probably less conclusive then she liked.

For yet another, the chilling sensation of being observed suddenly vanished.

And for Hoshino Hikari, she ached all over and found quite a bit to complain about.

But regardless of all of that, even magical girls had to get home at some point, or at least find somewhere to take a rest.

And thus, the first day of the Hex Night ended. Referring to it as a single night was somewhat erroneous, as the conflict between magical girls would last as long as it was required to reach a single victor.

The Second Day

For a few moments after Hikari awakened, she felt almost as if her experience the previous night was some sort of dream. But as her mind cleared, of course, she swiftly came to understand that it wasn't the case, that every single moment of it had been real.

She really was a magical girl, and one who was now facing the prospect of participating in a battle between magical girls for the purpose of obtaining a wish.

In spite of this knowledge hanging in her mind, her daily routine began as normal. Wake up, brush her teeth, shower, get dressed, have breakfast, and get ready for her day at school.

After having breakfast and leaving her home, Hikari recalled the chatroom and opened her phone, thumbing through it. It didn't take particularly long to join, but after she had done so the petite brunette simply started quietly at the chatroom. What did you even talk about in there? Beating each other up for the Hex Night? That didn't sound very likely, at least... before she could decide on how to introduce herself, however...

"Hey, Hikari-chan!" called another girl's voice.

It was her friends, the dark-haired, average-height Yoshimura Tomoe, followed by the somewhat taller and lighter-haired Saikawa Hanako.

"Did you hear about all the weird stuff that happened last night?!" she asked, excitedly.

For a few moments, Hikari stared blankly, before coming to the realization that this was very likely in connection to the Hex Night.

But her response to Tomoe was the same as usual when it came to the girl's weird ideas.

"More ridiculous rumors, Tomoe-san?"

"They're not ridiculous!"

Hikari only tried looking at the chatroom again much later, when it was time for lunch. It was really the only opportunity she got, at that point... It seemed like trying at any other time was a bad idea for more than one reason.

@Bartimaeus: Yeah, I figured a split was pretty necessary given the size of the cast. It won't always be that way, but I'll try and make sure everyone's lot clustered into one scene all the time.

I'm glad you're excited!
Sorry for the delay, was a little busy today, I'll get on it tomorrow. ^^;
Right going to get going on a character soon.
So out of curiosity, what is everyone thinking so far? I hope this is proving to be a decent intro to the RP. ^^;
Estelle Varianbec, Master of Berserker

"Ah?! Wha... er..."

Estelle trailed off. She hadn't at all been prepared for a Servant that would tear up on her suggestion. She thought it was a strategically sound one, especially given they hadn't gotten the opportunity to do so the previous night. But it had made her Servant cry? Well... not full-on sob but she'd definitely teared up! She had no idea that Minamoto no Yorimitsu, the legendary oni-slayer of Japan, would be such... such an emotional lady!

"... I'll have some of your cooking later!" she declared, finally, with a nod of her head, after Berserker finished listing off some conditions. They were all things that Estelle had already intended, only a fool would leave their Servant's side(though being forbidden as if Berserker was her mother was a little bothersome, at least it aligned with her plans already) and her maids would draw a lot of attention while a Servant could go into spirit form, or potentially be overlooked in a crowd. "We'll eat dinner here before we go out to slaughter the opposition."

Estelle gave herself a satisfied smile. While she was taken off-guard by her Servant's behavior, there was no denying that her status was incredibly high, and on top of that she was a Berserker with an intact and conscious mind.

"... Besides, I was already intending on all of that," she added, with a wave of her hand, "Only an idiot would wander off without their Servant, and my maids need to stay behind to care for the mansion. Fufu, I wonder if any of our opponents are stupid enough to walk around without their Servant?"

She giggled to herself.

"As soon as I'm ready, we'll depart, Berserker."

And so, after a quick bath, Estelle was ready to head out. She didn't quite have anywhere to eat in mind already, rather she intended to set out and show Berserker around first, then simply find somewhere to have breakfast along the way.
