Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

  • Gender: Female
  • Personality: Ravy's most frequent expression is a rather pokerfaced one. After that, a glare. Ravy's demeanor is a sarcastic and somewhat irritable one. She is quick to criticize others in a deadpan fashion, and her sarcastic comments are always done without even the slightest amount of mercy. She has absolutely no mercy for the stupid. She's also lacking in patience, and grows exasperated and annoyed quite quickly. Naturally, this prompts her sarcasm to bleed through much more quickly. Aside from her sarcastic attitude, Ravy's new form has a penchant for sweets that she struggles to ignore. It's very easy to manipulate her via the usage of anything sweet, which is embarrassing to her but not something she can really do anything about. Having a sweet tooth is most certainly a trying weakness. In spite of her pokerfaced sarcasm and irritable attitude, Ravy manages to have a strong set of morals. No amount of stupidity she dealt with in her previous life was able to squeeze that out of her in any regard. She dislikes seeing innocent people endangered, and has a strong stance against abuses of power(which is something she did have to deal with in her previous life and lead to its end). Finally, she still is awkward and easily-flustered about her new form, as being a little girl, even one that is a low-level demon, is a very strange experience for her. Really, the low-level demon part makes it even stranger.
  • History: Tsugihara Hiro was a middle-level salaryman at a programming company. He had spend some time, now, dealing with frustrating behavior from both above and below. His usual reaction to this had become to deal with it with venomous sarcasm whenever he was able. But he wasn't utterly without dreams. He wanted to advance his position. He wanted to make enough money not only to live by, but ideally to support a family. He admittedly had a bit of a thing for a fellow office worker, but he'd never brought it up to her. He had only recently learned that their boss was abusing his position to destroy the lives of anyone under him he took even the slightest issue with, especially of female employees. He was humiliating employees he didn't like, threatening to fire anyone who had a problem with it, and made working in the company utter misery as time went on. Hiro managed to record evidence of these acts and submitted it to the higher ups, successfully getting his boss fired.
Unfortunately, this act of justice would also be what ended his life.
Hiro was attacked by his former boss when going home from work one day, pushed into moving traffic. His body was crushed under a truck's wheel. His last thoughts were wishing for a second chance... and then...

Interest!
Ah.

So they had forgotten?

"... I suppose it only makes sense," Sylphie said, cocking her head to one side. "After all, it's been so long since I've had a chance to let loose. It's been far too long since I was able to punish the wicked for their misdeeds."

The tiny girl titled her wrist, sliding her left foot backwards as she did. The bandits' charge wasn't disorganized and reckless, the average fighter likely would have been overwhelmed.

Sylphie smirked. Average fighters indeed would be overwhelmed. They would be killed by the assault. But... oh, these bandits didn't know, they didn't realize. They didn't understand the opponent they were facing. Not at all. Not even slightly! This was something totally, completely, utterly, beyond anything they could expect!

Her heart was beating faster and faster. She could taste their evil intent and it served only to cause her excitement to spike up further, to fill her body with the warmth. They hadn't surrendered. They hadn't repented for their sins. This was something they had brought entirely and completely on themselves, and she would relish in their poor decision-making.

Unrepentant sinners had forfeited their lives. It was a simple rule.

"Then allow me to teach you something once more, o sinners," Sylphie continued, her smirk spreading into a wide grin as the glee seeped into her voice, "To teach you about the retribution that the wicked should fear!"

Her body moved. It was difficult for a human observer to understand, as the tiny black-haired girl felt the wind whipping past her body. The bandit who had moved first was the one she had chosen as her target, and in a split second she had reached him.

A blade that large shouldn't have been able to move that elegantly or swiftly, and yet it did all the same. As it had done many times before.

The man's body came to a halt.

His head came free from his body, with a cut so impossibly clean it didn't look like it was something that could be seen in this reality. Blood spurted from the stump of his neck as the corpse toppled to the ground, hand still gripping that sword.

The second man half-stumbled in his attempt to attack, stunned briefly as he swung his axe down by the sight of one of his fellows being decapitated so effortlessly. Sylphie's sword cut into his waist from his back and out his front, nearly severing his body completely in half.

Sylphie let out a giggle. Crushing sinners, claiming victory, slaughtering the wicked...!

Oh, it had been far too long!

She lunged forward, as the next bandit stumbled back in shock and fear. The tip of her blade penetrated his armor like it didn't exist, the thick sword piercing through his front and out his back. Casually, the demigoddess lifted her sword, taking his body with it. She flicked it to the side, flinging the limp corpse away.

"Allow me to introduce myself once more!" cried Sylphie with a wide grin, thrusting her bloodstained blade into the air, "I am Sylphie Sorvost, Aphei's Left Seat!"
@1Charak2: Accepted.
I'm still here obviously, considering a recruitment drive.

"... The largest one... the one with hair," Youmu began, slowly approaching the downed creatures, sheathing Roukanken as she did, "... She hesitated. I could see it. None of the others did. They all mindlessly attacked like monsters. But when she saw us, she didn't want to do it. She didn't want to fight."

It wasn't how a monster completely lost to humanity behaved, or a youkai with their mind intact, behaved. Hesitation like that was something Youmu could recognize and understand as the actions of someone who didn't want to fight, did not want to hurt anyone nor be hurt in turn. Anyone trained in the art of swordplay could recognize those reactions.

If that was the case... then...

"... Takamachi-san, in the journal..." she continued, her tone morose, "Do you remember? It said that the horrible man who owned that mansion threw a girl into the ocean as a sacrifice. And that note... it said that these things turn people into more of themselves."

Every other fish creature here seemed totally lost. But if there was one who still had that fragment of humanity, was it possible...

Mihama Nanako

Nanako... wasn't about to try and make Melt follow her. It would just make the Alter Ego frustrated, there was no reason to make her even more annoyed. But, to her surprise, when she reached the elevator her Servant had already caught up to her. She'd been so hungry, so desperate to eat, she had barely even realized it...

"Ah..."

She simply held the elevator open to let her in without another word, shutting it just as quietly.

"..."

She wasn't sure what to say. Even after everything, there was a small part of her that hoped, wanted, to try and make things better. Nanako didn't want this kind of relationship with her Servant. But she still had no idea where to start.

Do you really think someone who poisoned you to try and put you in your place wants to be your friend?

If she was being honest with herself, Nanako didn't think so... but there was a small part of her that was just a little hopeful. Just a little.

She had to be when she had finally managed to summon a Servant, right?

Her stomach audibly growled.

"... Ah, er, I'm just running to get something to eat..." said Nanako, scratching the back of her head as the elevator reached the ground floor.

After a few moments, both Master and Servant were permitted inside. The nervous center of Fusang was contained within the enormous black windowless tower that stood at the very center of the city, a towering structure that was only outdone now by the in-progress Space Elevator. This was where the city's administrators did their business, and it was also where the artificial intelligence that moderated many of the island's systems was contained.

A pair of girls, seeming quite close to Serene herself in age and both clad in blue vests and pencil skirts with white undershirts, asked for them to wait a few minutes.

Moments later...

One of the city's administrators greeted them personally.

It was by all accounts a child, no older than nine or ten, her small body clad a rather unprofessional-looking white sundress. But her skin was deathly pale, her white hair ending in oddly-squared-off tips. Her crimson eyes were quite striking, and although she was quite a cute child... the fact that her teeth appeared to be rather sharp, razor sharp in fact, was rather disconcerting.

And yet she simply gave a cheerful smile.

"Hello, I understand you wanted to access the city's systems more directly? Or something of that nature~" she cocked her head to one side as she spoke. "Ah, but you're waiting for someone to join, aren't you? That's fine~ I'll wait too."

She waved her hand idly. Did one of the people in charge of running the city really have so little to do that she could simply sit around and chat?

It seemed to be the case.

@DocRock@1Charak2
"Oh? Traps?" asked Sylphie, twisting her body to look back at the others and smirking as she did, "You needn't worry about anything like that."

Without elaborating as to why it would be a concern, the tiny girl continued on her way, though it was perhaps notable the path she forged ahead was frequently swerving as it to avoid something unseen. Evil intent, after all, was a dead giveaway when it came to things like this. Not to say that her senses were infallible(though Sylphie would never admit otherwise), but the trap set by an average bandit would not require any serious effort from her in order to locate it. The malignant feelings placed into its creation were enough for her, when it came to something simple like this.

"As for the bandits, if they surrender and honestly, truly repent for their acts, they can live," she added, even as she forged her somewhat curvy path ahead, her enormous sword resting lightly on her shoulder as if it weighed no more than a feather. "If they do not, I'll paint the earth with their blood~"

Her tongue ran across her lips at the thought. Oh, if they truly felt guilt and truly repented, that was another matter entirely... but unrepentent sinners...

In spite of avoiding the traps, much like Izel had elected to do, Sylphie proceeded to go right up to the front of the base without even the slightest concern. It had been concealed by a variety of different methods, nestled into a forested, rocky area that was in part blocked off by a grove of trees. Through a combination of traps and this location, it wasn't impossible for the demigoddess to understand exactly why it had been blocked.

There were several surprised and confused guards out front. Several had already been advancing towards Izel when she suddenly appeared, clearly intent on capturing her for whatever purpose they had in mind. If Sylphie had to guess, it was likely because they desired to sell her.

How despicable.

How perfect.

It'd been so long... so long! Ah, but she could almost taste it...!

Sylphie raised her blade off of her shoulder. She'd give them a chance. A moment to repent honestly and truly. She was one who represented righteous vengeance, the Pillar of the East and the Left Seat. Slaughtering those who surrendered with honesty in their hearts was wrong.

But those who lied and held wicked feelings within them...!

The thick sword was leveled at the guards, glinting with a light that seemed not altogether natural.

"Allow me to introduce myself, o sinners," The Princess of Victory began, her smirk spreading into a grin as she spoke, "I am Sylphie Sorvost. I know it's been quite some time since anyone last saw me, but surely..."

Her grin grew wider.

"You recognize this sword, don't you~? Don't you~?"
