Assignment: Undercover- Orphanage meta children kidnapping and experimentation ring

Darric determined that an undercover crooked cop would be too easy to invalidate so he said he would go with pretending to be a dealer in children and other illegal activities and his name would be Daniel Varick for this assignment. He looked at Willard and R0se. R0se had an interesting ability and he wondered what identity she would take on this mission. He knew whatever it was they would make sure it wouldn't unravel on her. He and R0se had been on many assignments in the past and they got along well so he wasn't at all concerned about working with her. Willard on the other hand was a total wild card. He had never gone on a mission before.

He looked at Paige as her assignment was put on the back burner. She was tough and he wondered if things would get moving quickly soon. He wanted her back now. He was doing his best to block out her job and what she had to do but it wasn't easy. He watched as she slipped the engagement ring back on her finger and it made him grit his teeth. His thoughts about his assignment took a momentary back seat to Paige's departure. He followed her into the back room near the back door and he watched as she turned around and looked at him. "I gotta go."

Darric sighed and nodded. "I know. Stay safe and you know how to reach me. Say the word and I'll come running." Paige smiled and nodded and then she kissed him softly and turned and walked out the door. Darric stared at the door for a minute and then went back into the meeting and listened to the others.

Day 6 8:30am

Harley woke up and rubbed the sleepy out of her eyes and stretched out really well. Then she laid there and looked up at the ceiling and closed her eyes a minute. The tears slid out before she could stop them. She was lonely, she missed her parents and her friends. Harley was wondering what they would think of her having a power. She knew she could do good with it and that was what she intended to do with it. She intended to make a difference with her power. That being thought she got up and wiped her eyes dry and got dressed. She slipped her shoes on ran a brush through her hair and walked out her door and headed towards the commanders office.

Once there she opened the door to find him asleep on his desk. She made a face at the thought of how his neck was going to be a little stiff. "Hey! Commander Cody!" She watched as he started to stretch and wake up. "Come on we gotta find that water leak/problem, right? Let's go!"

Cody grumbled a little and stood up and popped his back. He grabbed the book on plumbing in this building and followed her out. Harley headed to the intercom and made an announcement to the entire bunker. "There is a Water pipe problem somewhere in the lower pipes going to the backup reservoir and we will be working on it today. The water will be on and off intermittently. Do not count on it to be reliable today. Sorry for the inconvenience guys!"

A few minutes later they had backtracked the blockage to the pipes that were underground that went from the backup water reservoir that was another 30 feet under the bunker. "Holy crap!" Harley said as she and Cody looked down this pipe through a plumbers camera. "Tell me if you are seeing what I am seeing? Is that a tree root?"

Cody took a look and his face paled a little. "Yeaaah, it sure is and it's too far down to get to. We can't fix that without digging up half of the bunker on this end." He took a valve to the reservoir and closed it off and looked at her. "Can you refill the water reservoir regularly for us?"

Harley nodded, "Looks like I'll need to, so yes I'll do that every day and I'll check it at night before bed." She went to the water reservoir in the main section of the pipes and held out both of her hands and water started flooding the reservoir. Twenty minutes later it was full and he turned the water back on.

The Commander went to the intercom. "This is the Commander. The plumbing issue can not be resolved. There is no way to repair the pipes between the backup reservoir and the main line. This means that we will be limited on water at certain times of day." Cody grinned and said, "Our very own Water Goddess Harley has agreed to refill the reservoir for us daily so at least we will still have clean safe water. Good morning, Good hunting, stay safe out there today and look after each other."

Harley came around the corner with a funny look on her face. "Water Goddess? I think I like that title." She said and she walked into the cafeteria. He went back to his office to record the plumbing issues into the proper journal and get what he needed to take inventory of the plumping tools and pieces that they had just in case they needed them.

Paige finished putting her appearance the way it was supposed to be for this undercover mission. She looked up and kept listening. They were going to send Willard in and Darric as undercover protection. This worried her a little. What if Darric wasn't given clearance to deal or be near the kids? She bit her lip in worry. Darric looked at her and clasped her hand with his and squeezed it lightly. Paige looked back at him and she tried not to show her feelings but she always had trouble hiding them from Darric. Paige got to her feet and picked up the shopping bags and looked at Priest.

"If you need to speak with me you had better hurry. I have a long drive to hide where I've been. If they or anyone figures out who I am...I can't take chances. It's too dangerous for everyone involved."

Darric watched her leave the room to go fix her makeup in the ladies room. When she came out he was in the hallway. He walked right up to her and seemingly engulfed her into his arms and proceeded to kiss her. She didn't argue or fight him at all. She kissed him back and when they parted there was a tear in her eye and she blinked it back. When they got back to the meeting she was ready to leave.

Darric stayed with Paige and they listened as the meeting continued a little longer. Paige watched Willard and he was happy to be included but she knew he didn't know what he was getting in to. She knew Darric would keep him safe as much as he could but the chances that the boy would be hurt were extremely high.

Cody looked around the kitchen. It was spotless and he stretched and cracked his neck a little. He glanced at Audrianna and smiled. Walking over to her he smiled and yawned a little. It had been a crazy day. Most everyone had received their power today or were still sick and getting better. He looked out into the cafeteria and there were a few stragglers left in there goofing off or talking. Cody hugged Audrianna and kissed her forehead.

"I've got to check on the doors and make sure things are as they should be. I'll see you in the morning. Ok?" He looked into her eyes and smiled as he bent down and lightly kissed her lips. "Goodnight Audrey."

Cody walked out of the cafeteria and made a right towards the front doors. The outter doors were closed. As he went past the boiler room he heard an odd noise and when he opened the door he cursed. "Son of a -" He hurried over and closed off the pipes and turned off the boiler. There was no water coming through to the boiler. That meant no hot water at all and that meant that the water was not coming into the pipe at all. Cody figured that meant that the water recycling system had broken or there was a leak somewhere. He started tapping the pipes lightly to see if there was water in them. He remembered that he had seen Harley in the cafeteria and he walked back to the lunch room and saw that she was no longer there and picked up the pace and caught her walking and yawning to her room.

"Harley, I need your help. I think we are out of water. Can you come help me with this? Please, if that isn't the problem I'm going to be up all night trying to fix it."

Harley had stopped and turned around when she heard her name. She yawned and nodded and started walking back with him. She saw others going to their rooms and some going into rooms with others. She liked Cody but she was a little irritated at his timing. She past the lunch room and followed him to the boiler room. She walked out of that room to the water recycling room and stopped.

"Cody? Isn't there supposed to be water in there?" She turned and looked at his pissed off expression.

"Supposedly." He said letting out a deep and frustrated breath. He looked at the bottom of the pool and asked, "Can you fill the pool and we can figure out where all the rest went tomorrow? I'm betting it leaked out on the outside piping because we aren't seeing any other water anywhere else."

Harley nodded and started filling the tank up with fresh clean water. "Thanks Harley."

"It's okay Commander." She murmured. When the pool was filled he went back and turned the boiler back on and Harley yawned and walked back to her room and leaned against it for a moment almost asleep on her feet. It had been a really long day and all she wanted was sleep. She used her key to unlock her room and went inside. Shoving the door closed she dropped her jacket and shoes on the floor as well as her pants and top. Sliding into her bed only in her underclothes she was asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Cody went into his office and wrote in his journals as to what happened today. There was so much that had happened and he recorded everyone getting powers, hunting and lastly the water problem. By the time he finished it was close to midnight and he had fallen asleep with his head on his desk.
