Normal looking/plain characters are always more fun for me to write, but when it comes to drawing I always create idealized pretty people for some reason.

I don't know exactly whether or not my characters are 'attractive'. I don't use faceclaims, after all, since my ideas tend to be a lot more specific than what a faceclaim can provide easily.

When writing textual descriptions of characters' appearances, I describe what shapes their face consists of, their eye & hair descriptions, a general body type, notable features, and clothing. It's up to the reader to decide whether my characters are 'attractive' or not. I find it's a bit more reasonable and realistic that way, anyway - I don't consider myself attractive or unattractive, for instance, so why would I write a character's description as such?

I don't mind playing as someone who's unconventionally attractive, but if I do I usually don't make a big fuss about it. They're either a deranged psychopath who gives zero shits about how they look, or the tone and the setting of the RP is not suitable for my character to have body image issues.

Most of the time though, I choose to play as people who are considered slightly above average. I never use photos of hot Hollywood hunks (or hunkettes). If I choose the photo of a thespian , you bet they're gonna be very obscure and not popular enough to get instant recognition.

Yes and no. I have attractive characters. Good looking demons like succubi and so on. 90% of my characters are average. And I have a handful who are maimed. Right now I have an elf with one side of his face scarred up so bad the eye can't open all the way, missing half an ear, scarring on his chest, back, and arms. Would I call him attractive? No. He's pretty unfortunate looking, if not ugly as a result. But that because it makes sense for him to be that way in the context of who I want this character to be and what backstory I want him to have.

Not really. Half of my characters are monstrous in one way or another, another third are average in attractiveness and every once in a while I'll have an (unconventionally) attractive character. The last one was a Dunmer woman, which is still only attractive to a particular ethnic group in that world's setting.

To me, it depends on my underlying motives, and contingent inspiration.

Which are summed up as thus:

A. I want to accurately represent something, in a manner that is genuinely inductive and influential, towards all whom read it.

B. I want something yummy to look at; something that works up an appetite, and compels me to have all sorts of naughty, yet pleasant dreams, the moment I go to bed. Ecstatic Drugs for my Psyche, cheaper and safer than going to a Drug Dealer.

By creating these types of characters, I am also relaying to all whom read them, what makes me feel as warm and fuzzy, inside. Ergo, I have a higher chance of inspiring someone to give me a hit of my favorite drug, when I sincerely want it.

I don't deliberately create attractive characters. I just picture the character in my head, how would I like him to look like and then use the all mighty Google to find the picture I need. I usually end up picking some actor, but this dosen't happen all the time, about 70% of the time. When it comes to fantasy it's a lot easier because all I have to do is find a nice artwork of a warrior or whatever i'm playing and it's done.

Yes, I tend to create attractive charachters. I tend to make them pretty and fit. I also tend to write a lot of misfortunate storylines so I figure if their lives are going to be screwed up they might as well have good skin and faces. lol I've written many that were average but I found that their self image is more messed up if I don't find them to be pretty enough. Is that totally weird?

Since attractiveness in some cases is relative (I mainly play my characters as being androgynous males), I could say that more than often any attempt to make an attractive character either backfires or else gathers so much unwanted attentions.

Nothing prevents them from getting themselves immersed in troubles. And from my personal experience, bad roleplayers tend to focus around on the "bishonen" side of my characters so they can jump into their pants. More than often, the usual 2edgy4u, always dominant vampire hunks who use the winchester brothers' pics and judge characters based on how hot their personas look like.

However, NPCs I do tend to be really varied. From things like dwarves and elves to monsters.

The characters that I create that are attractive to me fly totally under the radar of other people, because my characters aren't fetishes given form. The writing surrounding them has nothing to do with them being attractive to me, it's simply their design. Maybe their relationship is touched on, which would also involve their attractive nature.

Honestly; yep. I like pretty people. I like them a lot. Not all my characters are conventionally pretty, but almost every single one has something I find attractive, even if it's in a strange way.

I definitely do. And looking at my character history it's painfully obvious how much I like bright red/orange hair, haha. Part of it is the fact that looking for character art (I avoid face claims of real people for the most part) results in finding beautiful people, since artists typically draw beautiful people, especially in the fantasy genre, which is the majority of what I occupy.

So my characters are usually attractive. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I don't demand that every person I write with also think my character is attractive. I also tend to beat up my characters pretty badly... so they end up less attractive than they start, heh.

Does using Jensen Ackles from Supernatural as an face for an character count attractive?

If so, then yes I've made an attractive character. If you look in my recent posts, you'll see that I have used Jensen Ackles for a few CS sheets.

I may or may not be obsessed. Don't judge..

Tends to be a given, RP like video games is a form of escapism for some people. Thus I find it only natural that people want to create characters that are stronger/smarter/prettier than themselves IRL. I know I an guilty of this.

Primarily, no. I try to go for some more realistic, where not everyone belongs on the silver screen. Very rare are my characters lean or thin, and I've played a few short men as well. But if I think someone "attractive" fits the scene, then sure. Usually though I never imply if they're attractive or not, because I find most times my partners will sort that out for themselves. Different strokes for different folks!
