Olympus Academy | Day 1

The day was oddly dreary for such a magical place. Olympus Academy's magic usually provided only the most beautiful and comfortable weather for students, but that morning was wet and cold. While incoming freshmen might mistake the weather for normal, returning students and professors would be on edge: storms meant conflict among the Olympians. In fact, 2075 marked a dangerous year, and some students opted to attend school with mortals this semester. The student count this year was lower than it had been in a long time, parents godly and otherwise fearful about the tension in Olympus extending to Olympus Academy.

Weather aside, the campus remained gorgeous and decorated with statues standing as testaments to the gods and their children. It was a short drive from one of the largest airports in Greece, no more than an hour. Mortals unknowingly passed by it all the time, in fact. The magic that protected the Academy created an illusion that it wasn't there. Instead, mortals saw beautiful and untouched fields and forest, protected by environmentalists that were proud of the gorgeous site and its large lakes. Mortals were also inclined not to explore the campus they couldn't see: the magic often suggested they were too short on time or had some other important task to get to.

The morning sun remained hidden behind clouds as students arrived at the academy. They would have their dorm buildings and room numbers in mind, returning students having the choice to keep their dorms and roommates from the year previous. The grand tuition included books and some basic school supplies, generous compared to schools found world wide. The administrators--a council compromised of friendly "monsters" and demigods--weren't going to shake down Zeus for money, after all.

Ashton Caverly and Naya Tonnerre

It was raining when the pitch black sports car took a left turn off a roadway and into a set of gates. A sign next to the gates, which opened as if they knew who to look for, stated that they had in fact arrived at Olympus Academy. Hypnos, the God of Sleep and Dreams was driving, while with ruffled hair and curious eyes Ashton Caverly sat in the passenger seat trying to get a glance at another student or faculty member. Unfortunately the rain seemed to stop such from occurring and the 14 year old slumped down in his seat, taking a deep breath. He had been told that the entire roadway that they drove in on was protected by some sort of ward, which kept mortals from seeing or entering the campus. That small bit of information was the only communication the duo had from the docks, some day or so ago where Ashton had landed from Crete. The boy missed the island deeply and while he knew that he couldn't hide there forever, it was a safe place for him. As he stared at the various statues and buildings of his new home, Ashton couldn't help but feel completely alone and small. He sighed once more, this time a bit more heavily and his father the God stopped the car before entering the overhang which provided cover from the downpour. "Curse this rain. Demeter must be in a fit about something." He shrugged and then focused on the black haired boy beside him. "Ashton... Look, I know that you're not exactly happy with me for forcing you to be here but I truly feel like this is a school that you'll learn to love and even call home. I would wager that after a few years you'll never want to leave!" Ashton gave him a cold glare and rolled his eyes, causing Hypnos to sigh himself and put the vehicle back into drive. As he entered the overhang he sent a quick message, to whom Ashton wasn't aware of but is was probably the lucky 'family member' elected to babysit him. He briefly wondered if the person was upset as Ashton was about the arrangement and made a deal with himself not to be broody when talking to them, it wasn't  their fault after all that he was here.

Naya had just finished settling in: heavy curtains covered the windows, and she looked about the dark room contently. Whomever she'd dorm with this year would ideally be like her, at least a little bit. She preferred the room black, even during the times when she'd be awake, though not everyone was a daughter of literal darkness. She looked over to the plain, empty bed, a contrast to hers, covered with black sheets and pillow cases. Shrugging, she turned to continue unpacking since she had clothes and school supplies to unload. However, she had barely opened the second suitcase when her phone buzzed in her pocket.  She didn't recognize the number, but the message made it clear: her babysitting career began.

"Ugh," she muttered, slipping her phone away. Deciding her handiwork could wait, she closed the dorm's door behind her and continued into the hall. She would cross to the main building, where she assumed the new kid would be arriving at. The school year hadn't officially began yet, and campus was relatively quiet. She was thankful for the small, if growing, number of students and even more thankful for the dark, dreary day. The rain seemed to boost her mood and she somehow managed a smile when she approached the small, miserable looking kid. "Hello," she greeted, the French countryside lacing her words. "I'm Naya."

The first thing Ashton thought of when he saw his babysitter was that she was quite attractive. Even if the boy had only recently really cared about such things it was true nonetheless. The second was the French accent and he smiled a bit at it, which if one knew Ashton knew that getting him to smile was a hard task. Hypnos exited the vehicle from the drivers seat and sent Naya a look before speaking. "Sister, this is my son Ashton Caverly. Ashton, this is your Aunt." Ashton furrowed his brows and glanced from Naya to Hypnos and scrunched up his face even as a headache threatened to begin from this revelation. "My aunt?" He asked even as he realized that he had considered his Aunt attractive. It was an awkward moment and Ashton had to take a moment to recover before he slung his backpack over his skinny shoulders and nodded a few times to himself. He ended up grabbing the two suitcases from the trunk which contained everything he owned and took a deep breath. His father seemed a bit awkward himself and rubbed the back of his neck before stepping forward and opening his mouth as if to speak. Ashton just shook his head and stepped right beside the man and grabbed his hand. "Thank you for saving me only to abandon me again." He hoped the words stung as much as he meant them to and he twisted away from the mans grip and headed into the school proper hoping he didn't have to get wet getting to wherever he was going to be sleeping. Or in his case, having nightmares.

The girl's smile faded as Hypnos approached the two. She regarded him seriously, brows furrowing together slightly. She hadn't met a member of her immediate family, even since arriving at Olympus, and she seemed tense and still in his presence. She watched the two interact and felt a twinge of jealousy. Here was her...nephew, getting attention from his godly parent that she had never received from her own. And even she thought he was being a brat about it. However, she was empathetic to the bitter attitude. "He'll fit in," she snarked at Hypnos. Even as a misfit among other demigods, she was aware of the mixed feelings they all had toward their godly parents. Her bright eyes turned to Ashton, still unsmiling. "You can just call me Naya--none of that 'aunt' stuff. You'll be everyone's something here, cousin, brother, nephew..." She shrugged as her voice trailed off.

Ashton seemed relieved to know that he didn't have to call her Aunt, not only would he probably blush over and over again when he did so it would just feel to weird to make a habit. Besides he liked her name, it was a short simple name that was easily spoken. He readjusted the strap of his backpack on his shoulders and began looking around at the interior of the building and had to admit, wherever he was it was impressive. Not usually the talking sort he decided to at least try with Naya. "Where exactly is here anyway? I know what it's called but like is it a school or a prison?" He tilted his head to the side as he asked his question and while he was being a bit sarcastic in his question he did seem to be truthfully curious. His blue eyes seemed to glitter and he would appear to pass into a trance as his mind began wandering to various scenarios of the school. It was over quickly but Naya would have seen one of the hundred of daydreams Ashton seemed to get a day.

"Mm, it's a school, I guess. You'll learn plenty. Not everyone here is by choice, though," Naya explained simply. She certainly felt trapped at the academy, but she wouldn't unload those thoughts onto a freshman. Besides, a freshman meant a fresh first impression. "You'll be in the first year dorms, but do you know your room number?" she asked him, nodding in the direction before starting to walk. She expected him to follow, but she hesitated to look at him again. She squinted at him as he seemed to zone out, and she nudged his shoulder. "Hey, are you paying attention?"

Ashton heard her talking through a fog and wanted to respond but wasn't able to in time. He attempted to jerk away before she touched him but it was to late and the second he got control of his body again he began shuddering and screamed loudly before trying to push her away as hard as possible while his powers began activating. He just barely stopped himself from trying to put the girl to sleep and slumped to the ground. His backpack had fallen off and the suitcases had spilled thanks to how hard Ashton dropped them and the boy was breathing deeply and loudly, sweat forming quickly. "D-d-don't touch me!" His voice was heavy with fear and his entire body seemed poised as if to sprint away at the slightest inkling. Ever so slowly he calmed down, until he seemed to be back to normal, though he flinched every so often. Mentally he was kicking himself over and over, he had gotten so good with being touched on Crete, even allowing one of the elderly woman to hug him goodbye, but he hadn't expected that and he was still in a trance so his defenses activated unconsciously. He began putting his stuff back in the suitcase and reluctantly met Naya's eyes. "I'm sorry. I just don't like being touched is all."

Naya flinched away from the boy as he cried out, making it easier for him to shove her away out of his arms length. For a moment, drowsiness overcame her and she wasn't entirely aware of Ashton's fear. "What..." she slipped into her native French as she blinked away the sleepiness. It was perhaps for the better, and she only yawned through the ordeal, which was fraught with panic for her nephew. Just as quickly it had come, though, it had faded and she shook her head as she stretched her long arms above her head. Maybe it was the tiredness, but she didn't feel particularly angry at the other for using his powers. It seemed unintentional, anyhow--younger students didn't have a full grasp on their abilities quite yet. She watched him kneel, scrambling to pick his belongings back up. He mumbled something she understood to be an apology, so she crouched to hand him a few things. "No problem. Now I know. Just try to reel it in--you might get touched if you dose off often," she said with a shrug, hesitating as her eyes lingered on a sketchbook. "You draw?" she questioned, handing it to him before she stood to her full height again.

With wariness etched in his eyes Ashton accepted the girls help as he shoved things back into his trunk. When Naya held up his sketchbook he took in a deep breath and realized his writing was right below her as well. "Uh, yea I like to create different things. It makes me feel relaxed which coupled with my writing almost makes me feel normal." He still felt bad for using his powers against her and even if it was a touch he decided she was entitled to a little information about him. He also had to admit to himself that she was somehow different, like she understood him and what he was going through, which if it was true was a blessing in disguise. He thought about what she said and realized she was right. If he daydreamed like that in class would the teacher nudge him? The idea was frightening and he wondered once again why his father brought him to this place. He picked up his notebooks filled with stories and held them to his chest before placing them carefully on top of the jumbled mess in his trunk and slamming the front shut to keep everything in place. "Thank you for the help by the way. I don't think I did that yet."

"What's family for?" Naya responded, though the words dripped with sarcasm. Everyone at the school was family in some way, but the love wasn't always there. She decided to let him discover that for himself. With an utterance that could have been native mumbling, she gestured for him to follow her: they would leave the main building, step into the light rain where her posture would straighten and rise with her mood ever so slightly. Despite this, she was still untalkative and her gaze wandered about the campus. It was a short walk before she was frowning again as they entered another bright, lit building. There weren't many, but the building had younger students scrambling and looking about for their rooms. She almost laughed, recalling the early days for herself and others. Almost. "This is where you will stay. If you don't know your room number, I can take you to the office, but you should, right?" she said. "And if you need anything else, come and find me."

Ashton caught the sarcasm that wasn't all to well hidden and rolled his eyes as he lugged the book bag and suitcases. He shivered in the rain for a brief moment and was glad to reach the protection of the next building. He did notice that Naya seemed much happier out in the rain however, or at least she appeared happier. The thing that made Ashton, well not happy but unafraid was seeing other kids his age and younger also struggling to find their way around the Freshman building. He glanced back at Naya and nodded. "I got my number right here, so I should be good. Uh, thanks again for you know, all that and stuff. I didn't mean to be a bother to you." He gave her a little half smile and shrug and then began turning to head up the stairs.

Elsker

A new school, a new life. This time, one without his sorry excuse for a mother. He had heard about this academy, apparently only certain people got accepted. So it seemed he was special, he just didn't know how special he was. He had taken his mother's car, well afer he got rid of all the druids stashed in it. There was no way he was taking shit like that to school. Elsker took the left turning which took him to Olympus Academy. After a short drive down the road he reached the camp. He got out of the car and locked it before beginning to look around. Now, where the hell did he go? What was this place even? Slowly Elsker began to walk around. He needed to find a teacher, or at least another student who knew where they were going. What's worse, was the fact that it was raining. He hadn't brought a coat and he was getting soaked. After walking around, he soon found some students near a building. He slowly walked up to a young boy who seemed to be talking with someone.

"Excuse me, I'm new here. Where am I supposed to go? I don't even know what class I've got. My name is Elsker it's a pleasure to meet you."

Was it normal to be this slow? He still hadn't learned what this place was actually for. Despite the name. He had no idea although he would find out soon enough. For now he looked to the dark sky and sighed. He couldn't help but shiver in the rain. It was cold, his mother never cared for him. She didn't buy him clothes, she didn't feed him nor do anything for him. She just used the money she got for him for her own damn drugs and drinks. He had to get his own food and clothes and that wasn't easy considering he had to steal his own money from his mother. Sure he could report her but he planned to move out soon anyway.

Victoria

Victoria was already at the academy. She was a returning student and was currently training. Sure she couldn't exactly train her powers without playing some sort of game or contest, so instead she did combat training like she normally does. With sword in hand she attacked the training dummy. She slashed her sword at it's chest then kicked the dummy to push it away. At that point she threw her sword into the dummy's chest and ran up at it. As she got closed she jumped and kicked the dummy while at the same time she pulled her sword out, as soon as she landed she swung around and slashed behind her as if there were an enemy sneaking up on her. Slowly Victoria stood back. She imagined she was on the battlefield. Her men injured and out numbered but she refused to give up. Just then she began to call out loudly, talking to her imaginary army.

"We may be out numbered, and we may be bleeding but we are not out matched! There is a way forward, do not give up hope, stand your ground. Get up, on your feet! We shall not lose. We shall not fall! Not today, not tomorrow, not ever! There is a path to victory! I can see the way forward, we cannot lose! We WILL NOT lose! I can see the our destiny! Now, to VICTORY!"

Her men stood up and cried out their battle cry. She rose her arm up and with that, she began to sing out loud. As she sang she attacked the air with her sword as if she were fighting an army. She would not lose, she couldn't lose! Of course, all this was just in her head.

Harlow

Harlow grunted in annoyance as she readjusted the large bag that she was carrying. "This crap is so damn heavy." she muttered, glancing up towards the sky for a moment before focusing on the path before her. Her counselor at the academy had suggested that instead of creating so much weaponry, she actually practice with one of them and build up her combat skills. Now why would the counselor say such a thing? The rumors going around campus must've been true. Maybe the counselor was just trying to warn her for what was to come? Or maybe, maybe the counselor was just sick of Harlow being cooped up in the carpentry room all of the time. After all, she had been complained on quite a few times. But was it really that big of a deal to use the room at night while everyone was asleep? The brunette shrugged the thought away as she had finally arrived to one of the four training grounds of the academy.

She noticed someone already on the grounds, a girl with long, dark hair. She watched silently, a black eyebrow raising in amusement as she watched her attack the dummy with swift kicks and her sword. A chuckle escaped her lips as she heard her speak. We may be out numbered, and we may be bleeding but we are not out matched! Now, to VICTORY!" Harlow dropped her bag to the ground and began to clap slowly, a grin on her face as she walked further onto the grounds. "You forgot to yell 'I......AM......SPARTAAAAA'." The sarcasm in her tone was apparent, despite being legitimately interested in this girl's combat skills. "You're pretty nice with a sword. I mean, to say that you're fighting a dummy." A smirk played across her lips as she eyed the girl's sword.

Layla

Layla knew her way around the school like the back of her hand; after all, she spent literally every minute of her life here the past few years. Instead of going to her assigned dormitory, she had decided to stop by the academy's library first. It was her favorite place on campus, besides the lab. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as she entered the massive library, the smell of the old books causing her eyelids to flutter. Maybe she liked the library too much. After browsing around for about half a hour or so, she had decided on a book. She then made her way into a corner of the room and plopped down onto the floor, her back against the wall as she rested the book on her raised legs. She carefully opened the book and traced the words that were etched onto the fine paper, humming softly as she looked around, making sure the library was as abandoned as she thought it would be. Minutes later, she was engulfed in the book, barely even blinking as she read.

Enzo lifted his head towards the sky as the rain pour down upon him. He could feel it in the air, their world was on the cusp of war and it was electric. He could sense it all around him, feel it in his blood and bones, conflict and tension building among gods and demigods alike. He was ready for it, for war, and not for some petty little mortal war either, but a war of gods. He his father was more than ready for a real war, it had been ages since there was a battle worthy of the god of war himself and his father’s distain of Zeus was hardly a secret. His father found the thunder god to be an unfit ruler, thinking not with the head on his shoulders and more concerned with chasing skirts than the state of things on high Olympus. He knew there were many who wanted to keep the peace but Enzo was hoping for all hell to break loose and for the chance for him to truly be a warrior. What better way to channel his pent-up blood lust than war among gods? Enzo’s thoughts of war were becoming more than a little intoxicating.

“You like your getting ready for a wet t-shirt contest.” Said a familiar voice as the back of a hand slapped his shoulder. “Seriously, Enz, it’s cold enough to make Boreas shiver.” Dylan added as he took a few steps towards the dorm buildings and paused waiting for Enzo to follow.

That explained the intoxicating feeling and his urge to indulge in thoughts of war; Dylan had that sort of effect on people if they weren’t careful. “You should be careful with that. One day I might indulge in punching your face.” Enzo jokingly threatened as they headed inside one of the dorm buildings. In all honesty, he usually found Dylan’s meddling to be calming, his influence made those who allowed it feel happier and it distracted him from the anger that always seemed to burn just below the surface.

“Like you’d want to mess with the face of perfection. A little indulgence never hurt anyone.” Dylan said. “Where you rooming this year?”

“I think you’ve missed the point of like most myths.” Enzo said as he showed his former roommate his assignment.

“Shit, well at least we’ve got the same building. I guess I’ll see ya around.” Dylan said as Enzo headed into his dorm and Dylan continued to his own room assignment.

Dylan found his room empty and threw his stuff on one of the beds before heading back out to the rest of the campus with a stack of fliers for the party he was throwing later that night. A start of the year party was just as much a tradition as the faculty’s attempts to stop it. Which was why the flier was in a not so secret code, allowing him deniability should faculty get a hold of it, the location was kept secret until the last minute when children of Hermes would spread the word of how to get there, and those with magic would help cloak what was going on. It really was amazing what could be accomplished when demigods worked together. He passed fliers out with a wink and smile to everyone he came across.

Alessio & Aria Russo

Alessio scowls, as he looks up at the academy. All he sees, when he looks at it, is his mother's pain. The reason why his mother died... Of a broken heart because of his father. Because of the father that abandoned him and his sister to a life on the streets at such a young age. Gritting his teeth in anger, Alessio looks at Aria, and his glare softens. He grabs her hand, and squeezes it gently. "We'll be fine," he murmurs, his voice thick with an Italian accent. "We're strong."

Aria looks at her big brother, the older twin. "I know, Alessio," she whispers, her eyes bright. "They're just like us, so try to be nice." Alessio snarls in anger.

"They're nothing like us! I bet they're pampered brats." Alessio looks so angry, Aria tightens her hold.

"You don't know that. Remember, Alessio, we only need each other. If they are like what you say, then we don't bother with them. It's the two of us against the world, Alessio. We will stay on top. We grew up in the Mafia, Alessio. We have skills. We use them to our advantage if we need. Surprise them if they think we're easy and weak." Aria murmurs in his ear to calm him down.

"No boys are allowed near you, little sister. Together forever, remember?" Aria nods. "I will protect you with my life if I have to."

"And I will protect you with mine. We share our father's powers. Yes, it is split in half because we are twins, but we will survive. We always survive."

Together, they enter the grounds, hand in hand, alert, and stiff. Aria partially shifts into her cheetah form, her ears forming through her hair, her eyes sharpening, and her nose picking up more scents. She listens to everything around her, willing to protect Alessio if she needed. She knew he had her back, just as she had his, but she's also a little scared. She hates new places, and she doesn't want to be apart from Alessio.

Their whole life, they shared everything. They slept together, fought together, ate together. They were rarely seen apart, and she didn't want it to stop here and now. They were the perfect team together, both with the brains and the brawn to be deadly twice over.

Demetrius had tied his braids up and pulled them back in a ponytail. He wore swim-shorts and no shirt, basking in the rain as it beat down on him. He glanced up to the sky and winked, a silent thank you to his father. He picked up his surfboard and wafted a hand at one of the many rain puddles that began to form on the ground to coagulate the water into a small pond with enough motion for his surfboard to skirt across the top. Arms extended out to either side as he pretended to shred massive waves, an occasional "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" voiced his pleasure with such a mundane activity.

He carried himself with the swagger of an earthly mortal rap-star. He hadn't bothered registering for classes or even signing in so the teachers and administrators knew he was indeed present. After all, his father was Poseidon, one of the big dogs of the pantheon; it's not like they'd have the gall to suspend him or expel him. One word to pops and this whole place gets drowned! And so he continued as is, idle surfing along a thick body of water in the courtyard of the school--he watched as more responsible students made their way into the academy and did the things he should have been doing. It didn't bother him much--he'd get to it eventually.

Hudson Fulbright

"Good goddam morning world!" Muttered a tired Hudson, staring out of his bedroom window. Another day of dealing with his annoying delinquent sisters, ridiculously oblivious anti-Zeus leaders and annoyingly happy pests. School sucked. The only comforts he had were his friends, and his closeness to being able to summon the dead. It was like a dream come true for him, finally not being the only child of Hades who couldn't summon a hoard of angry Mongol warriors to do his bidding. Life also sucked. And now, it was another fun day of dealing with his inferiority to his sisters. Yay!

Hudson shuffled onto the quad in school, wearing his almost iconic vintage flight jacket and NASA shirt. His satchel was bulging with a rather large book that didn't look like it belonged in any lessons. It was his little one-of-a-kind time his father gave him when he turned 15. It contained secrets his sisters didn't know, like about how he can sense death. Seating himself in a quiet, dark, corner outside the academy, he began to silently thumb through the pages until he found what he wanted. Hydras, there we go. He couldn't summon the dead yet, but he cared more about the monsters. This tome was his personal book of monsters, a subject he cared a lot about. If he could summon a chimera and an angry hoard in Mongols, his life would be complete.

"This is how I show my love
I made it in my mind because
Blame it on my ADD baby
This is how an angel dies
Blame it on my own sick pride."

A hand snakes out of a mess of bedsheets and slams itself down on the rather loud music that had begun blaring inside a half decorated room. The resulting silence made the peaceful moment tranquil once more before an exasperated sigh and groan came from the bedsheets as well. What could be making such a sound? Well it was 18 year old Micah Everwood who groaned once again and twisted in the bedsheets before finally leaning up with one last grunt and rubbing his bleary eyes. He stared around the room blinking rapidly and vaguely wondered who was going to end up being his roommate this year. Micah had already been assigned a room since he stayed at the Academy every single day of the year and while it was nice to have the room to himself, he was ready for the other half of the room to be decorated. Shrugging, he pulled himself free of the binding sheets and stumbled onto the cold floor causing him to shiver for a brief moment as the feeling moved the sole of his foot and up through his leg. Ignoring it for the moment the 18 year old padded into the attached bathroom and answered the call of nature while scratching his bare upper chest. After finishing he started the water for a shower and threw some toothpaste on his toothbrush and headed back into the main room.

It only took him a few moment to throw together an outfit from his closet and after picking up a new pair of boxers he slung the clothes over his shoulder and walked back into the bathroom which was ready. 20 minutes later and the Son of Hecate was ready to head out to face another day. A brief look out of the patio/balcony told him that it was quite nasty outside and he threw on a beanie hat to complete his outfit and to protect his ears and head from the cold. He frowned and then pulled his spellbook and songbook over to himself with an incantation. The Ancient Greek and Latin fusing together and causing the air to spark with the power of magic being performed. As soon as the two books hit his palm the boy is out the door and taking the stairs down to the bottom level. As he did he could hear the sounds of students arriving on campus and a large smile lit his face and he fistbumped the air before pushing out of the door and breathing in the scent of rain. He murmured another spell and stepped out from under the overhang and began making his way to the Main building. The Rain seemed to ignore him as if hitting an invisible barrier around him and kept him dry.

As he was walking he saw Demetrius surfing along towards the Dorms and sent him a wave. "Yo, Demetrius. What's up Wavepool?!" He smirked and almost missed Enzo walking with Dylan. He sent a wave his way as well. "Yo, Enzo! We're good for tonight. I'll shoot you the details later?" He raised his eyebrow as he continued walking and almost ran into another student. He had to quickly step to the right to avoid them and grinned before continuing on his previous course. As he was about to enter the main building he saw two other who looked rather similar to each other and smiled at them and inclined his head. "Hey guys. I haven't seen you two around before, but if you have any questions I'd be more than willing to help with what I can?" He lost his smile then and instead had to school his features when he saw Hudson and looked back to the twins. "Hold that thought. I'll be -right- back." He twisted his body and ran to see where Hudson went and sighed to himself as he watched him head towards some dark and nasty corner. He called out to him, "HUD, let me help you out a bit!" He muttered the same incantation he had before and a barrier would prevent the rain from splashing all over Hudson. What Hudson didn't know was that in about 30 minutes all that water would suddenly explode all over him and wherever he was. Oh it was good to be the son of the Goddess of Magic.

He quickly ran back to the twins, and beamed once more. "Sorry about that, now as I was saying. Any questions or concerns?" While he was friendly, he definitely didn't come off as creepy. Just someone that wanted to help, and his eyes seemed to be scanning for any others newcomers.

A drop of rain touched her nose, waking her to the outside world from where she sat in one of the large trees of the schools front gates. Piercing ice blue orbs turned to look above the figure, through the blanches to the oddly bad weather on campus. She had only been here for a year, though she knew that the bad weather was a sign of something. From what she knew, it was a sign of the coming war; the war that Hades had spent training her for. Unlike her two half siblings, Auria had lived her life in the Underworld; her life force tied to the Land of the Dead after living there for so long. Long lashes cast shadows over high cheekbones, face turning to look down across the yard, watching new and returning students walk through the gates. There were a few she recognized; one of which was Hudson, whom was always upset the day after one of their sessions.

The lithe figure dropped from the tea, landing on the grass beside the drunk, knees bent just enough to cushion her spine. Body shifted, straightening upward, cat-like in movement. One could almost imagine the tip of a black tail flicking behind her in nervous anticipation. Of course, Auria wasn't one to get nervous, or really understand human emotions at all. Hudson had been teaching her to catch basic social cues, but she wasn't as good at learning that as she was at raising the dead. Listening for a moment, she avoided the man who seemed overly cheerful, walking with purpose. Long confident strides across the grass and concrete, tight jeans outlining her long legs; black knee-high combat boots on her feet. Tank top hugging her torso nicely, half hidden under her sweater. Inside the hoodie on the other hand, she had several knives hidden.

"Hey you."

She stopped not far from where Lorenzo was handing out fliers for his 'secret' opening party. The daughter of Hades looked at the son of Ares not as an enemy, nor a friend; a potential ally if giving the proper incentive. They might not have interacted much other than training and classes since she got here - mostly because of her inability to interact well with people - but she could smell the violence on him. His capability for mass destruction intrigued her; she was always up for a fight, loving the chaos that destruction wrought on the living. For the last little bit of summer, she had entertained the idea of talking to him, but the Nymph she spoke to often hadn't been too sure of the match. Not that Auria had been thinking romantically - she knew nothing of people, not caring much for anything. She was lucky that none of those crazy love-obsessed kids hadn't gone after her yet just to see what would happen.

"What's this I hear about a party?"

James Harrison

James was on his way to Olympus Academy and his mind was on the tension going on right now with the gods. As a demi-titan son of Iapetus he was slightly worried about the consequences of a war between the gods taking place. The Olympians and their constant squabbling was maddening to James and he would always question why the Olympians were the ones who ruled the world. It seemed to him that the Olympians were not mature enough to be running the world.

Regardless of his feelings, his dad had gotten him into the academy and thought that it would be good for him to learn at the school. James was skeptical of the idea and was sure that he wouldn't be very welcomed at the school. No matter here he was and right now he wanted to focus on his work and training to get stronger.

As the son of the titan of mortality, James had the ability to manipulate the very energy of life that exists in all living things including plants and creatures. It was a complicated ability and at first he couldn't control it. Random plants and tiny animals such as rodents would die when they were withing several feet of him. His powers really scared at first, but when his dad came into his life and gave him a little bit of guidance he was able to control it a little better.

James' father still explained to him that he could get much stronger and learn to control his powers completely if he went to Olympus academy. And so here he was at a school made mainly for demigods and not demi-titans. It sounded like he may be among the first to attend the school and that probably meant that he would get some attention. It didn't really matter to him since he considered himself to be an individualist and somewhat of a lone wolf

Once his things were unpacked in his dorms, he thought of what he should do next and decided to think about it for a moment. He could go and train with the sword to improve his skill, or he could study a bit for class. Either way it was probably all preparation for the big war coming. With the usurping king of the gods Zeus and his supposedly wise daughter Athena fighting over the right of succession, it seemed that another great war was on the horizon,

“These Olympians will ruin this world if they keep acting like this” he said to himself as he finished organizing his clothes.

Naya Tonnerre
Ashton didn't seem like a bad kid, if young. So he earned a small smile to his back as he turned to find his room, but it quickly disappeared when another approached. Her brows furrowed together at his question and she looked the ginger up and down. Despite her usual mood, she suddenly felt light in his presences. And she had been at the Academy long enough to know some sort of godly aura radiating from him was causing it. "Are you a teacher?" she asked, trying to place him based on his age and status as a newbie. He seemed a little old to be a new student, though perhaps the beard was throwing her off.

"I can't really help you unless you know something," Naya continued. After a moment, she begrudgingly offered some actual help. "I can take you to the admin building's office at best." The young woman shrugged. As she spoke, and even as she stopped to let the stranger speak, her bright eyes bore into him. She was well aware of the fact that it might make him uncomfortable, but so did other demigods spreading their weird auras at her, intentionally or not.

Riddley Kingsley
Students were piling onto the campus, and Riddley watched from the sidelines with excitement. As one of the few students who took shelter at the Academy over the summer, it was generally pretty lonely, and even seeing people she hated sparked relief in the young woman. Her gaze wandered slowly across the grounds, a crooked smile on her lips as she spotted the son of Poseidon riding as carefree as usual. Usually the go-lucky attitude was exhausting, but it was refreshing on Day 1 after a long summer. Her dull blue eyes continued to where she spotted barely Enzo and Dylan disappearing into the dorms. She hardly time to think about much else when Micah appeared, greeting everyone, returning and...new. "Oooh..." she hummed, gaze settling on what appeared to siblings. Twins, possibly. The urge to introduce herself and her cause swelled in her chest, but she somehow managed not to act on it...yet. Micah had it covered, she was sure.

She turned her attention to the sky, squinting against the rain as it fell. Then she took a step back to stand in the doorway of one of the dorm buildings: few had passed her as she stood there, and the low attendance had her worried. Riddley crossed her arms and continued to watch the campus, the anxiety slowly being replaced with a small feeling of pride: she was spotting more and more candidates to support Athena and, as a result, Riddley herself. The young woman had ambitious dreams, and she could feel them growing closer everyday. Of course, that meant dealing with those who opposed her.

Unsure of what to do with herself, but not wanting to seem too excited for the new semester to start, she stilled under the arch as she continued to watch others. Arms crossed, she almost seemed like a statue save for the impatient jitter of her fingers against her toned arms.

Alessio & Aria Russo

Interactions: @Apoalo

As soon as Micah nears them, Alessio glares at him, pulling Aria behind him, keeping himself in front of her. Another male! he thinks to himself. How many more of these people are we going to have to pass? I seriously want to kill them for even looking at Aria! "Hey guys. I haven't seen you two around before, but if you have any questions I'd be more than willing to help with what I can?" Alessio doesn't say anything, still glaring.

Aria looks over Alessio's shoulder, and smiles quickly at Micah, not wanting him to be offended by Alessio's rather intimidating glares. She doesn't say anything though, not wanting to provoke her twin. He was already highly strung as it is, and was acting defensively. They watch as Micah looses his smile. Following his line of sight to Hudson, Alessio's glare deepens. "Hold that thought. I'll be right back." They watch as Micah helps Hudson. Alessio was trying to pull Aria along, but Aria just shakes her head, wanting to wait for Micah.

As Micah returns, Alessio turns to Aria, whispering "I don't want to be here. We should've gone when he left to help that other boy."

"Don't be so rude, Alessio!" Aria whispers back, glaring at her brother. Alessio sighs, running a hand through his hair.

"Sorry about that, now as I was saying. Any questions or concerns?" They turn back to look at him.

"Aah... No. Thanks for asking though," Aria says, smiling brightly. "I'm Aria, and this is my twin, Alessio." She nudges Alessio in the gut with her elbow, glaring up at him. He returns the glare, before gruffly turning it to Micah.

"Hi..." he mutters, looking away.

"...Oh, um... since we're new here, where are we supposed to go first?" Aria asks.

Elsker

Elsker nodded to him before taking a look around once more. After a moment of silence he gave another smile and began to speak up once more>

"That might be best but no I'm not a teacher. I just got here, a new student. What is this school anyway? Of all the schools, I've never seen one like this. It's so out of the way, what are you trying to hide?"

He gave a bit of a joking laugh before speaking once more.

"So, what brought you here anyway? I came here to avoid my drug addict alcoholic excuse of a mother. Honestly, I didn't bother researching the school. As soon as I could I left. Hell, I even forgot my Diary where I kept all my notes in. God, I loved that old thing."

It was then that a diary appeared out of thin air with a pink 'poof' and landed on the floor behing him, making a thud noise. He turned around and stared at it before picking it up.

"Huh. I guess it was in my bag the whole time, but that's strange, the bag's closed up. Eh, whatever."

He unzipped his bag and placed the diary in it. He would make some notes later once he got to his room, where ever that was. He looked back to the other two with an awkward smile.

Victoria

The moment she heard somebody behind her she swung her sword at Harlow, it stopped right in front of her face. She listened to her and when she had finished talking she spoke up.

"Don't you know the first rule of training? NEVER approach somebody with a sword, or any weapon for that matter coming behing them. One of these days it will get you killed."

She lowered her sword slowly and then threw it once more. Once it stabbed into the dummy she turned around to face Harlow. She stared at her for a moment. She must be a new student, she didn't recognise her, either that or she was just very unpopular.

"I am Victoria, daughter of Nike, the Goddess of Victory. You are?"

She stared at her, even in her stance she was battle ready just in case she had to act in an instinct. Victoria never relaxed, she was always ready for battle, always alert. She loved to fight, loved to win.

Sal

Sal was on his way to the Academy, his wings out and flying quickly. Of course he flew up high so he couldn't be seen. The rain didn't bother him one bit. As he came closer to the academy he quickly swooped down. As he was he saw two twins with someone, hearing their names he gave a small smile. He stopped himself from going down for a moment and closed his eyes, focusing on Alessio's name. As he spoke, she would hear his voice in her head as a whisper.

"Who the hell is this guy? I want to punch him so badly!"

He then swooped down and landed swiftly beside Micah. He didn't actually think she'd do it, but he was just having a little bit of fun. Besides, he was son of Hermes. His father was known for pulling a few pranks here and there.

"Hey guys, I overheard your conversation. Have you got a room yet? If not you should do that, if so, then I can help you find it. My name is Sal, son of Hermes. Nice to meet you two, and you too Micah."

He knew Micah by name but he didn't know him too well. His wings were still out, stretched wide. He twitched his wings a little before they folded and neatly disappeared in his back.

Zelma

Zelma walked towards the academy, yep, walked. She didn't own a fancy car to get there, she didn't have wings. She couldn't command the spirits to pick her up and fly her to the academy. So she walked. She was almost there after hours of walking. Once she was in the actual grounds Zelma sat herself down on a bench. She ignored everyone, keeping to herself. While she did she turned to her right to talk to a spirit that had followed her. "What the fuck do you want?" The spirit sighed before shaking it's head. The spirit was a young man in his 20s at the very least. "You won't make friends with that attitude." "Like I fucking care. I've been alone in the streets for years. Besides who the hell would want to hang with a bitch like me?" and just to prove a point Zelma got up and shouted at the top of her voice to anyone around. "Who the fuck wants to be friends with a bitch like me?" After a moment of silence she sat back down and looked to the spirit. "I was rasied on the fucking streets, I can handle myself. Stop worrying over me and fuck off." With that the spirit left her and she sat on her own.

@Kidd Leona

Leona had just entered the school and was looking around at all the students. Her eyes shined as she let out a wide friendly smile. She was new here and she wondered who she should make friends with first. After a moment of looking around she saw someone under an arch. At first she thought it was a statue but then she saw the fingers moving and she walked over to her with a smile on her face. "Hey, I'm Leona daughter of Aphrodite. Who are you?" She smiled at her and then looked around. This was actually a nice place to hide and watch other students if one wanted. She looked back to the new girl and continued to smile at her in a friendly manner.

Pheonix didn't have anywhere else to stay over the summer, so she'd remained at the Academy, same as every year. Eleven years now. Not that it mattered, Olympus was a nice place. So she got up, dressed, and headed downstairs to see the others returning to the Academy. As always, the guys up top expected her to be helping the new arrivals on these first days, having been around longer than any other student and some of the teachers.

Old faces and new, but an old one first, by the looks of things. Pheonix met Dylan on her way outside and took a flier, skim-reading the coded message. She said she planned on being there, though it would only be her second time if she did. Prior to that, and well, Dylan's parties were a little excessive for her, even she wouldn't be able to deny it. Still last year was a blast, and she looked forwards to joining again.

She then headed outside (crap, it's raining!), looking around and seeing plenty of people, some old and some new, as expected. Her first instinct was to go see Micah, an old friend of hers, but he seemed to have his hands full already, so she decided to talk to him later. She noticed a new girl, with bright pink hair heading off to introduce herself to Riddley. Crap. That girl was not exactly someone you'd want as a first impression for a group of people, especially one meant to come off as friendly or welcoming. Boss behind the scenes? Sure. Frontline commander? Probably a good choice. The problem with Riddley, Pheonix thought, was that while she made a great ally, but not so much a friend. Not that Pheonix was in any position to judge, though, since she could often be the same.

Anyway, not wanting this poor girl to be steamrolled by Riddley's intellect too quickly, Pheonix headed off quickly towards the pair, arriving just as the girl, Leona, started speaking.

"Hey Leona. I'm Pheonix. Sorry, didn't mean to intrude, mais j'adore tes cheveux." Pheonix said, slipping into French as she often did. Even though she barely had use for it, in many cases it just sounded better, you know?

Jamie/Jason Apex

Interacting with: @Helo @DragonKingUk @JaceBeleren

"And... perfection achieved." Jamie said, finishing up her lipstick. She looked over at the clock, curious to see how long their morning ritual took.

Thirty minutes. Jamie returned her gaze to the mirror and stuck her finger in her mouth, preparing to blot the inside of her lips. It takes twice as long for the female form. I wonder if that's due to practice or preparation.

As Jamie completed the finishing touches on her make up, she took a moment to appreciate her work in the mirror. It had been probably the third time they had "dolled up" their female form, and the mastery of make up was coming quite naturally to them. They probably had their mother to thank, anything that involved beauty was quick and easy for Jamie to pick up.

"Alright then, enough of that." Jamie quickly snapped their fingers, and their feminine features shifted into masculine ones in a blink of an eye. Their make up was replaced with stubble, their long hair quickly shortened, and they grew from a dainty 5' 3" to an impressive 6' 2". Their clothes changed with them too, what was before a skirt and stank top underneath a cardigan turned into jeans, a t shirt, and a jacket.

"It's best I meet others in the form I was born with." Jamie, now Jason told themself. They strode out of their dorm room and into the quad. Perhaps they would meet their roommate there. Jason had no clue who they were, there was probably some email they forgot to read telling him the information, but Jason didn't really care to check.

As Jason entered the quad and saw several students walking and talking, despite the murky weather. A person holding out a stack of papers caught his attention, and he made his way over to them. They winked and gave him a flier. As the flier was handed to him, it seemed to be a recruiting event for some random club Jason had no real interest in. However, as the flier touched his hands, the text changed, telling of details of some big start of the year party with an indeterminate location. Jason quickly read through the text, and as he finished reading it turned back into the ad for the club event.

"Nicely done," Jason said, folding up the paper and putting it in his pocket. He began walking away from the flier boy and spoke to him as he turned. "Consider yourself to have a guest."

Jason looked up to the sky. The weather didn't seem to be getting any better. The rain hadn't necessarily picked up, but the occasional drop would still fall. It would only be a couple minutes before the rain got worse. Jason decided that their best option was to make their way back to their dorm.

"...ona daughter of Aphrodite. Who are you?"

Daughter of Aphrodite?

Jason quickly turned around to look at the source of the voice. It was a girl, with pink hair and beauty who rivaled their own. It never occurred that Jason would meet other half siblings here at the academy. It did make sense however, as Aphrodite was the goddess of procreation and all. There was bound to be more. Around her were four others, but Jason didn't care much for them. One seemed to be talking to the daughter, but Jason cut in front of him, making his way to his newfound sister.

"Hello, sis." He said, smiling and holding out his hand. "I'm Jason, son of Aphrodite. Or, er wait. Technically daughter too. Now at least."

Alessio & Aria Russo

Interactions: @Apoalo & @The One

Aria smiles at Sai. She completely ignores the thought that suddenly ran through her head. She wasn't going to start a fight, not like Alessio, in any case. Alessio glares at Sai, not liking more guys near his twin. "Nice to meet you, Sai. I'm Aria, and this is my twin Alessio. We're the son and daughter of Zeus." She looks at Alessio, a question in her eyes in regards to the rooms, before looking back at Sai.

"Would we be able to get a room together? I've never been separated from my brother before... and I don't really want to start now..." She says, a slight frown on her face. "...To be honest, we don't really know anything about this place. Hell, we didn't even know our father was a God until last month..." She chuckles bitterly, grimacing. Alessio wraps his arm around Aria's shoulders in an attempt to comfort her.

"...We didn't really want to be here..." he says softly, his glare softening, as he glances at his sister. "...Well, I didn't want to be here, but Aria wanted to get to know more about our father, so we thought it might be good to see what this place is like."

Exhausting. That was the word that sprung to mind as she bumbled along in the back of some Greek bus. Zeus was kind enough to schedule a flight from New York to Athens but the rest was pretty much up to her. She wouldn't have minded some help from her supposed mother but she was intending to go as long as she possibly could without talking to her and her mother was apparently reciprocating that. That left her, a jet-lagged American in the middle of Greece without the faintest clue how to speak Greek. She picked up bits and pieces, strangely, but the most of it was lost on her.

How she got this far and managed to get water and cigarettes surprised even her. After more than enough vigorous poking at maps paired with exaggerated English, she found a bus to where she wanted to go.

Thankfully, she was kitted out for the journey. Or so she thought. A tank top, shorts, hiking boots and a pair of aviators suited wonderfully for the rest of the Greek weather but by the time the bus got to its stop, she began to regret her clothing choice. It was raining. Badly. Wonderful; just wonderful.

And so, she trudged for over an hour with her camping bag through the pouring rain to somewhere she wasn't even certain existed. Finally, she rounded down into some sort of lake district. There was a road down and from the outside, it appeared to lead into a stack of trees but all the cars went down that way so she guessed that was her destination. When she got about halfway down, what was an empty field moulded into a sprawling Academy within a blink of an eye. She rubbed her eyes just to make sure she was seeing right and, surprisingly, she was.

What she found at the end of that road left her no less confused. She knew she had a few powers but nothing major. What she found was a girl who seemed to share a few features with a cheetah. Then there was the guy with the wings and a few people off to the side practising with weapons. And, saving the best to last, a guy surfing in the fountain. Ok.

Fixing her aviators and adjusting her drenched mop of hair, she spotted someone on a bench not too far away. They looked a little intense and unapproachable but them again, so did she so she counted it as a good sign. Plus the bench was covered by a tree.

Meandering past other teenagers making their way to the entrance, she finally reached the bench and collapsed down onto it. Sitting her bag to the side, she pulled out the box of cigarettes she bought earlier and lit one up, taking a slow draw of it. The familiar taste of coffee filled her lungs as she watched the courtyard in interest. Not moving herself too much, she extended the box towards the other girl. "Cigarette?"

@DragonKingUk

Alex woke with a start, a bump in the road causing him to shudder awake as he cautiously observed his surroundings. He had been sleeping against the window. Once he was certain of his safety, he settled back into the seat and watched the road carefully. He had landed in Athens and been picked up by helicopter which got him most of the journey. The rest was a drive in a range rover by some satyr that looked more muscle than anything else. He appeared like a normal bodyguard to anyone else though so it all worked out. Leaning forward, he flicked on the radio which didn't produce any sort of reaction from his driver so he started flicking through the stations. Most of it was pretty awful out in rural Greece but he finally settled on one station and sat back.

"You don't talk much, eh?" He murmured, running a hand through his hair. Once again, the driver remained stoic and didn't respond. "I'll hazard a guess and say you don't like your job? Pays well I'm guessing; you know, getting funded by the King of the Gods and the Queen of Sweden." He yawned and realised he wasn't going to get any conversation from this fellow so sat back and relaxed.

The rest of the drive was mostly devoid of any action. The weather worsened and from that, he guessed that they were close. The Gods weren't in a very good mood with one another which caused a reflection of tensions back on Earth. Either that or someone had annoyed Demeter. Both were fairly likely.

Finally they rounded the bend into the driveway for the Academy. His eyes were very accustomed to the mist so he had no problem seeing the stretched buildings from the entire way up the drive. Parking up, the Satyr gave him a dull look and he proposed this to be the end of the line. "Farewell, dear friend! Hopefully some lady goats or half-lady goats cross your path!" With that, Alex pulled the hood of his coat up and hopped from the range rover. Grabbing his bags from the boot, he watched for a moment as the car sped away back up the drive. He was quite fond of that driver.

Spinning on his heels, he eyed the courtyard. As per usual, there was quite a number of sights to behold and new Aphrodite kids made a good eighty percent of those sights. Somehow allowing his head to do the steering, he meandered over to the fountain. Demetrius was there. Or, more appropriately, Demetrius was partly there. "Deme what the fuck are you even doing? It's raining, man!" Rolling his eyes skywards, he trudged away from the son of Poseidon and spotted none other than his best friend - Riddley! Riddley and him had a rather special relationship in that he had spent the last three years seeing just how far he could push her before she pulled a knife on him. So far, his gut was still surprisingly intact. Not caring too much for the rain, he wandered over in her general direction. He liked to think that she got as much enjoyment from their conversations as he did. He did surrender the fact that it was mostly wishful thinking, however.

Alex found it easy interjecting himself into the conversation. His aura usually carried his words far above others, his voice enough to capture attention and his face able to hold that attention. "Riddley, where's the fliers!? How else am I meant to get my update of vitriolic Athena propaganda for the term?" Shaking his head in mock sadness, he didn't give her a chance to respond as he was off again, this time making for the main building. He had a feeling this was going to be an interesting year. But he also had the feeling that things were going to come to a climax.

Enzo

After dropping off his belongings in his dorm room Enzo grabbed the stack of fliers that Dylan had left with him and helped pass them out. He would’ve preferred to spend his free time training in the school’s top notch facilities but it couldn’t hurt to have Dylan owe him a small favor. Enzo had to admit the guy threw great parties, and he’d learned to make wine from the wine god himself so it was just next to perfection. He waved at Micah when they passed each other in the courtyard, knowing that they’d surely run into each other again sooner or later. He’d handed out a few of the fliers before he was approached by Auria, who he knew from a few classes. Hey you.

Enzo noticed the way she walked, swiftly and silently, like a panther stalking its prey. She possessed skill enough to earn his respect as a warrior, not the purely brutish type of warrior that he was, but an equally dangerous fighter none the less. The spark in her eyes could only belong to a child of Hades, a god his father spoke well of as they had a mutually beneficial relationship; Ares sent souls to Hades’ domain and Hades gave war meaning for without the consequence of death war would have no weight. Enzo respected his father and made it a point to respect the children of those gods with whom his father was friendly with.

“Hey yourself, blue eyes.” He said with a smile as he handed her a flier. “First day back party, it’s Dylan’s thing, you know how those Dionysus’ kids like to party. It’s a guaranteed good time though, it’s always nice to blow off some steam and let loose right?” Enzo said as he tried to remember if he’d seen her at any of the parties from the previous year. From there interactions in classes Auria reminded him of how distant he had been when he first got here. He had been wary of the other students, used more to the reactions mortals had around him, reactions of anger, hatred, and violence. He remembered what it was like to be surrounded by people and still feel alone. He wasn’t sure if she was alone here, maybe he just always caught her away from her friends, but he knew he was lucky to have found friends like he had with Micah and Riddley. While Dylan could be a bit much at times he was lucky to have roomed with him as well, helping throw parties had really brought Enzo out of his shell and he liked making sure other students felt as welcomed as he had been made to feel. Mortals could never understand them and gods would never truly accept them as equals but this was the one place they could all belong among their own. “I really hope you can make it out.” He added.
