Idunno, I think things are really good here. Lots of room in the setting to throw in whatever crazy character ideas I come up with and still have room for a neat story. And if it's too crazy it's still fun to tweak around.

Okay, as long as we're still on this topic and I can actually remember it, here's something that bugs me from time to time: Could we get more clarification on the difference between a normal attack and a special? I know it says flashy and hard-hitting moves, but then when I'm making a character like Jill where just about every attack falls under that description, I spend a lot of time trying to decide whether something should be considered a special move or not. Then when I decide that a move should be a normal I get worried about whether it might be cheap to use in the actual game considering that it's not on the sheet.

@lavulman Well, putting the roleplay into fighting game terms, I'd say the special attacks are the moves that require "input" (like the half circle motion, shoryuken motion, etc). While the moves described in the fighting style are the "normals" (attacks you do by pressing a single button, or in the case of command normals, a button and a direction). The line between special attacks/normals in this RP is probably a lot more blurred than I made it out to be, especially in this RP. The reason why I only asked for special attacks rather than all the mundane attacks, is that it constrains the characters (and the writers) a lot more than it should. And it'll be really boring describing every single punch and kick.

That said, I allow a bit of flexibility with the characters. I.E You don't have to strictly stick with the special moves and techniques. There were a few instances where Brenda, Justin, and Brooke did some techniques outside of their described moveset, but still totally within' their fighting style. Why? To allow a bit of leeway for posts, interesting stories, etc. Because, this is a story above all else, and we all established just what our characters can do in their fighting style/techniques.

I know this probably goes a little bit against the whole "twelve moves" thing, but I trust everyone not to be an asshole, and you all trust me.




That out of the way, I'd like to say that this is one of my favorite roleplays I've done in a while.

You guys probably don't know this, but I've stuck to GMing an exclusive brand of roleplays (superpower/superhero type things, yeah) for most of my time here on the RPG. This RP is easily the most fun I've had in a long time. Everyone here has been such fun to roleplay with, and has made some really unique and interesting characters (without making complete edgelords). While also sticking to the thematics of a fighting game.

The reason why I kept the setting loose and freeform is basically so I could give everyone the opportunity to help build the setting piece by piece. Character by character. When you think about it, we have ancient cities, an organization making evil cyborgs, and other lunacy. I just provided the backdrop for it.

I didn't expect the RP to last this long, or have such a great cast. Thank.

Jokes aside I really do agree. This rp is the perfect blend of interesting idea and a cast that works together to create a story, helps that all the characters are cool and there's so many combinations and interactions that I want to see as the story goes on. Kudos to everyone involved, just don't cut me out of the shares if ever anyone does decide to go ahead and turn this into a real vidya

@Mr Allen J This roleplay is the perfect storm. I found it JUST as I was hungering for a Street Fighter esque roleplay. I've had to put up with badly run, no effort, bullshit roleplays for so long I couldn't hold any positive expectations anymore. Then I found this roleplay, got a chance to use Brown, and got to interact with and play with some absolutely amazing people. I've never been in a roleplay where people are so interested in one another's characters and creative with things.

So thanks for making this Mr. J. It's been a pleasure beyond words.

I love all of you guys.

I've done a patch update on my champs.

Klara:


-Ice Totem: Can now summon more than one at a time
-Viking Salute Removed
-Cold Cleave: Can now use weapons created.
-Frostfall: Now needs a totem to shatter.
-New Supermove, Snøskred

Klara's power grappler moveset is solid, but her ki powers and special moves felt a bit mixed and arbitrary. They've been retooled to center more around a specific style, namely the creation of constructs. Cold Cleave is more versatile and her style will center a lot more around creative usage of Ice Totems, including a new super that better fits her power hitting style.

Vindani:


-Theme changed

Snake lady's fine, but her theme song is better suited to a final boss character rather and she's more of a recurring antagonist.

Patriotic Cry

Gideon’s body fills with ki until he can’t stand to contain it anymore. The ki leaves Gideon in the form of an energized roar. The destructive decibels are strong enough to bring down a skyscraper if he were facing one - now imagine him yodeling while doing it....I know. Scary. Characters with average defense will suffer if they take the decibels head-on. The decibels could make a normal person go deaf or vibrate their molecules until they explode. If Gideon is wrought with emotion (grief or rage), then this attack becomes absolutely detrimental.


First Aid

Gideon can use his ki to stabilize a person in critical condition. Laying his hand on the person’s body allows him to sense the abnormalities within a person and determine where the ailments are. Using his ki, he can imbue a person with enough energy to survive a little longer and to help their body beat the infection/speed up the regeneration of damaged cells.


Cyclone

Gideon will sprint in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction generating a tower of swirling destructive winds. Depending on the direction of the cyclone, the victim will either be raised into the air or pinned to the ground being crushed by air pressure. While the opponent is pinned or suspended, Gideon will rapidly dart throughout the storm landing five punches or kicks before the cyclone dissipates. These five punches comboed with his Afterimage Strike (x3) grants him 15 total hits.

Mr. Universe

Gideon will flex, striking a pose, and his skin will carbonize. The change isn't visibly noticeable. His carbyne skin will grant him the ability to go toe-to-toe with weapon-wielders. Most blades and firearms with no abnormal properties will find his skin too hard to penetrate. He can survive crushing pressures and most explosions caused by conventional weaponry in this form.

Improvised Moves

Boob Counter – A technique where Veronica uses her breasts to stop and counter physical, mystical, and energy assaults.

New Moves

Motorboat – Veronica will trap an opponent’s head within her cleavage, sandwiched between her massive breasts. The victim is unaware of the situation, caught in a blissful illusion of sitting in a small boat in the middle of the ocean. The boat will begin to sink as the victim starts suffocating, and if the victim doesn’t realize what’s happening, then they will quickly suffocate. This attack may not work on fighters wearing special helmets or respirators.

Entrancing Twerk – Veronica will twerk her bottom, getting those cheeks quivering and clapping in a skillful manner that one just can’t seem to look away. If the victim isn’t careful, he or she will become susceptible to her hypnotism being unaware that Veronica successfully hypnotized them to carryout whatever mission she requests of them. She can use this on multiple victims. The move works immediately if the victim watches. She can turn even heroes into Manchurian Candidates to be activated by a cue of some sort.

Armageddon – This is the ultimate form of Meteor Hip. Veronica will leap ridiculously high into the sky and her ass will instantly expand into an eclipsing ass that becomes engulfed in flames as it descends toward the earth. The pressure from its descent is great enough to level a block before impact is made. The deep impact covers a blast radius of a football field and the shockwaves will travel up to half a mile in circumference.

The RP will be open again once we're done with the first arc. In the meantime, you may create a character for the upcoming arcs.
