Is that what the Solar System for this world looks like?

@Scarifar Perhaps. Or maybe that is just a flawed mortal attempt to draw it - not sure how accurate mapmaking is, let alone attempts at depicting a planetary system

I'm mostly regretful that the culture borrowing old British Island languages' phonetics were the ones that got to name everything first.

Also, I'll provide feedback on Amon either soon or in several hours, depending on of I get this other thing done at home. There are a few details to fill out but you've got the beginnings of demigod there, Panda.

@Scarifar@Kho the deets

@Double Capybara @WrongEndoftheRainbow Took some liberties meshing the three of our views of the solar system together for continuity, let me know if it fits.

Personally I'd keep the names Athair, Aonair, and possibly Chananach and Obrach. Beyond that we already have the canon names Ilunabar and Galbar, and 'High Shipyard' sounds pretty good.

Edit: tfw Galbar has survived moons being chucked at it, gods warring, space invasions, and who knows what else... gets wrecked in a space car crash

@pandapolio. It's a good start. I agree with Kho that Emotions (Fear) is a valid alternative to Fear (Unknown), although it depends entirely on where you want to take it and how specialised you want to be.

If you take Emotions as your Domain and Fear as your Portfolio, then you become the undisputed master of Fear. Future Portfolios which you take will pertain to other emotions (eg. Anger, Jealousy).

If you take Fear as your Domain and The Unknown as your Portfolio, then you are still capable of performing fear broadly, but you are highly specialised within that field. Future Portfolios will allow you to take other specific aspects of Fear.

Also, as you are working on your character, do consider what your character will be doing. A neat character concept is all good and well, but it means little if there is no story for that character to enact.

@Bright_Ops just wondering about Farxus' Xerxes holy site. Does it attract the Cursed? As in, on an emotional or instinctive level? Or is it merely hearing of it and the promise of safety and bliss that is meant to attract them and cause them to head to it?
I only ask because Oradin-Thulemiz has set up some kind of 'homing beacon', or necromantic 'summons', that impels Undead and Cursed alike to take up the journey to the North. Was wondering if the Xerxes site functions like that

Instinctive level... much like the 'homing beacon' effect you describe. Only... you know, stronger. Because demi-god.

@pandapolio Regarding Amon, I don't have an awful lot to say beyond what BBeast mentioned.

The character is starting out fine so far. However, make sure you indicate to us GMs that you have an idea of the direction Amon will go once he steps out of his first post. You don't have to tell us what the plan is, just that you have a rough idea in the first place.

The reason we ask this is basically for two reasons.

1. It makes you more likely to stick around after your creation post. Quite a few players have dropped out after their character creation, citing not knowing what to do. This is a very open-world RP where you could write a few posts without interacting with any other player characters. Choosing what to do can be overwhelming if you don't keep the self-driven nature of the RP in mind.

2. It makes you consider the character in more depth. More often than not, fantasy gods are just considered to be static forces of nature. These can be cool to make an RP around at face value but you quickly run into the problem of them not changing at all. Contrary to that, the gods in this universe are complex individuals with goals and motivations, just like any other set of main characters in a good story. You don't have to make a full psychoanalysis of your character or anything like that. You just have to indicate to us that he's not just a faceless boogeyman monster. It's more fun, trust me.

Anyway, keep plugging away at the details and let us know when you've got the next version ready! We're happy to have you with us :)

Tauga is god-queen of three Islands in the Metatic (the islands of Axotal, Ihuian and Xiloxoch - and as you said, is as a realm called 'Tlaca'.) which are the southern most islands.

The 2 northern most islands, which also happen to be the largest, are relatively untouched by Tauga, but have been colonized by others. Since you are coming up on that plot, I won’t spoil.

Lifsprial dubbed Tauga ‘Marquise of Amestris’ after the battle of Xerxes, but she promptly abandoned her position for her project on the Metalic Islands.

That post where Lazarus is trapped in that demiplane...

who the hell is the one who spoke in tildes? Is it that one sculptor, from that time Teknall was telling them about alchemy, who kept going off on poetic ramblings? And was The Blazing Fist of Those Who Must Obey the Law of Ancient Greek Platonic Conceptions of the Perfect Heads of a Perfect Polis Otherwise He Will Beat You Up With his Level 8 Powers and Bash You With His Very Unhappy-looking Mask summoned out of the demiplane and onto Galbar?

You may not have noticed, but I have been watching Minus' development since I read the episode with Mafie (WHICH WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU - EXPECT A PM ._.), and I must say Minus/Mira's development and storyline has been very nicely executed. Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker for thing romantic and tragic (maybe >.>), but I honestly did not understand why you were so uncertain of the story. Obviously we can always do things better (there were definitely aspects of the Shaqmar-Layla arc that I would have liked to do differently), but we are necessarily constrained by our limited time and energy reserves. This Minus arc has been perfectly respectable, moving at points (the part where Cinead first saw Minus dancing moved me for instance). At this point, I've almost forgiven what Minus did to Mafie (ALMOST. I HAVEN'T.)
I was actually really quite tempted after reading the first one or two posts in this arc to just skip ahead and read all the posts in one go, as they were interesting and relatively self-contained, before going back and reading other peeps' posts. But I didn't and kept reading every in order, tempted as I was not to.
I agree with you that Cinead was perhaps the least developed of the three, but at the same time his time spent speaking with Minus and hunting with Mira gave us some insight into his character. I'm sure you could have delved more into the situation he found himself in, but I didn't feel it took away from the arc as a whole. I certainly believed that he loved Mira (the fact that he noticed her smile for instance and loved that about her speaks as much about him as it does of the beauty of Mira's smile). It was also made plenty clear that he can be headstrong to the point of idiocy XD
I rather liked Ingra - even in the posts where there wasn't much focus on her, her sass came through (her watchfulness, the way Cinead spoke to her, how she didn't fall for the Mira disguise as easily as Cinead).

Overall, definitely a beautiful arc that can be proudly put up there with all the other fantastic arcs Divinus has pumped out. Look forward to seeing what the future holds for these three :)

@Frettzo@Antarctic Termite The Astarte-Tira post was a very enjoyable read (somebady finally went nooorth. Whoop) but I think there might be some confusion about the geography and the location of things. So, best clear that up.

Now, as of the Vowzra deathpost, the Gate is no longer at the top of the Solitary Mount but somewhere near the roots of Old Bark-Skin, Jvan changed its location:
And in a still grove under the shadow of Old Bark-Skin stood three cracked stones, which had been broken from a single source, and yet found each other again. At the painted border they leant on each other as one; From that triangle fluttered a single cherry blossom, and the sound of a lute.

There a little white spider spun its web between the stones of the Gate Unguarded, and listened for the footsteps of those who would wander and find peace.
Towards the End of the Deathpost

You guys made mention of the Guardian Restored, who is indeed very close to the Gate. But he grew out of the bark orb that Vowzra created for Slough, and which Belru later made into her holy site ('the Orb'). That orb was definitely not at the top of the Mount ^^'
That said, the location of the Oath of Stilldeath is described as:
In front of the Gate Unguarded silently rose a pillar of white porcelain from the ground. It ascended from the stone as a sharp cylinder, fifteen human arm-span fathoms tall and three fathoms in diameter, perfectly smooth, and inscribed with red Tounic calligraphy that read in a helix from the top of its length to the bottom.
When Toun Wept

So somewhere in front of the Gate beneath Old Bark-Skin.

Now, I don't want to trouble you with rewriting that part of the post - I could potentially write a post that alters the position of the Gate, Oath, and Guardian to the top of the Solitary Mount (something something 'RETURN THE GATE TO ITS RIGHTFUL POSITION' something something 'SO IT WAS, SO IT SHALL BE AGAIN.') but I'm not entirely sure if the Oath of Silldeath is moveable. @Muttonhawk@BBeast

Thanks for the feedback and the praise. It's a confidence booster to hear about the stuff I did correctly.

Personally, though, it was the relative lack of character development that made the love hard for me to craft. It's one thing to describe the hints of love through noticing a smile or making rash decisions. It's quite another to mix a cemented love by showing how the subjects enjoy each other's company. That's why I described Cinead and Mira's relationship as 'fiat.' They didn't really get enough chances to demonstrate how they enjoy their company together as characters that bounce off one another. You didn't really get to feel the niceness they both had in a quiet moment, in a friendly conversation, and so on. Even their scene hunting together is ambiguous because the amount of disguising on Mira's part is meant to be unclear.

Maybe I'm reading into it too much. At any rate, all the gaps can be filled going forward. I plan to test the relationship for a number of possible dramas in the future.

Thanks again for the feedback, though. Even if it didn't turn out completely as I expected, I did work quite hard on that arc. Rest assured that my self criticism is not so much a punishment as it is exploring my own expectations.

Summaries are an ingenius invention!- they are a significant contribution to and advancement in the technology of power RPing. Your attempts at undermining them and driving us back into a horrific age of summary-less darkness must be punished severely - we will send you to the rovaick and inform them you are a heretic.
