They won't listen. I've tried.

Yeah I'm not doing this, he's using the word ad-hominem incorrectly again, and misunderstanding the rule/exception with home office spelling mistakes. Also ive literally explained the UK ban list 4 times and its just being glossed over, until someone can show me the law that jails people for ' anti islam thought crime' and then explain why that hasnt been used to imprison Katie Hopkins or Milo in the UK, then this is just a bunch of hot air.

"Alt-Right Ben Shapiro". Okay. You clearly know, literally anything. Mmm-hm.

I remember when Kratesis said the exact same thing, and you didnt have a problem with it (because she's right wing I assume). This is why Bias seems to be your issue.

Nope. Don't even remotely remember seeing or being in the conversation you're mentioning. *Maybe that's the reason*

( @Kratesis You're wrong too! *if you said that up above. )

Cleared that up. :)

Also yep, bias is solely my issue. Not just a fact that people have based on life events and knowledge. Now it's you, not knowing what a word means. Though feel free to tell me what kind of fallacy it is, when you say "Fans only support this girl, because they're sexless virgins who are desperate for pussy." is...I'll wait.

I understand what you're saying. I just don't agree with you, and remain more trusting of people who support free speech over people who actively silence it. Also, pretty sure that's a straw-man because I haven't argued that people have been jailed for anti-Muslim thought crimes. I've talked about thought crimes, and free speech and U.K allowing in ISIS fighters. But separately. Also, continues with a false dilemma fallacy. Instead of providing more proof that these three weren't detained in that prison and barred from the U.K. You say "well if Milo Yiannopoulos hasn't been jailed yet. No one could have ever been detained!"

(Also I can easily discredit that, in the very same way you or anyone else defends ISIS fighters being allowed in the U.K) They're both British citizens, which is why they've yet to be jailed for no justifiable reason.

I know youre not interested in girls, so maybe it isnt instantly apparent to you. But do you really think that sex appeal has NOTHING to do with her popularity?

Green-haired college students sometimes protest people to the point of shutting their speech down. That must mean the entire left is against free speech, right? Ben Shapiro and Crowder told me so!

Probably pretty marginal considering people actually listen to Alex Jones, Ben Shapiro, Paul Joseph Watson, Milo Yiannopoulos, Rush Limbaugh, among others, all of whom share some more or less overlap to varying extents, and none of whom would be considered "attractive" by conventional standards in addition to being all called "out of their minds", @Dynamo Frokane. I am going to err on the side reality where it probably helps increase their numbers and base, having a pretty face, but state it likely has much more to do with what they are saying, how they are saying it, and who it is being said to.

As an unrelated note for the record, @Pepperm1nts, I have heard fewer complaints about the behavior of the extreme social justice warriors than I have the "Alt-Right" disavowing actual white nationalists and Neo-Nazis. So if we wish to make comparisons about who by the numbers adopts which mantra more, or is at least more sympathetic to, probably goes without saying the modern prevalent Left-wing as a whole probably buys into the "hate speech" is a thing notion or that "words are violence" significantly more than the independents and for sure the Right-wing. There are plenty of videos where not just students getting interviewed betray the fact they believe those principals exist, no matter how nonsensical they might be, and not just from Ben Shapiro or Steven Crowder either.

Why is everyone who is attracted to her in your mind, a random virgin loser? Is that just the white nationalist demographic? Are they the people that came up with "lookism? (Give you two guesses.)

But being attractive as a cherry on top, sure. I'm sure guys and girls like looking at nice looking people of the same/opposite sex. But her sole/only reason she has fans or followers? I don't know that, you don't know that. And saying it, isn't anything but crude and pretending otherwise is absurd. Maybe they actually like her personality, or her content. Shocking as it may be.

Yeah, no one outside of the U.S is trying to throttle speech. Man, on point with that one...oh wait. And it's just students, not their professors, or political activists. Nah.

And the higher ups/progressives at Twitter and Youtube did a coordinated attack suspended Steven Crowder and his staff (and his dog. <.<) For posting a video (and they took his money to advertise) Then banned all people merely sharing or liking a video. But leftist bias doesn't ever go too far, it doesn't exist...f*ck knows who told me that. But I'm sure of it.

Probably because in the grand scale of things they (the people actually shutting speeches down) are a minority of people who the right likes to shine a spotlight on to the paint the entire left as anti-free speech.

than I have the "Alt-Right" disavowing actual white nationalists and Neo-Nazis

The Alt-Right are the white nationalists and neo-nazis.

Assuming you meant to say conservatives: You really don't have to look very far to see people defending the alt-right. Like, really, look no further than the President following the Charlottesville attack, with his "good people on both sides" comment. Look no further than all the people who defended the murderer by claiming he was fleeing an attack despite overwhelming evidence of the contrary. Look no further than the President pretending he didn't know who David Duke was after being endorsed by him. Or the fact that Steve Bannon - the guy who described his platform as being "for the alt-right" back in 2016 - was White House Chief Strategist for the first seven months of the administration. These among countless examples. Being blind to the wrongs of one side because you prefer them politically does not constitute lack of evidence.

I chose my quotations with purpose, because if you believe even tangentially any of what the new wave of conservatism believes, as in not the stereotyped "Republican in Name Only" types, you are now suddenly "Alt-Right" no matter what you believe or admit to being a skeptic of. By your own account you list a great number of people who are not entirely wrong in their assumptions even, be it the fact that there is suggestion the Charlottesville driver was originally attempting to leave to the fact some embrace the "Alt-Right" title, even to the point of parody like organizations as the "Alt-Knights" or the Kekistanis. Not to retread ground that you already just gave in added confirmation of this, I will note it is simply proof that there is a glaring double standard.

It is easy, convenient, and expedient to call one group all Alt-Right and throw everyone into it from the New Right, the "Alt-Right" as I said, to the actual Alt-Right. I have discussed this at great length previously in this very topic, but my point here and now is that is essentially lifting from one and placing it upon them that which is not theirs, but denying the other openly embraces the identities and ideologies labeled on them by the number.

No less, please cease attempting to pretend I own any political faction as my own because I "prefer them". I would as soon throw anyone claiming to be the Right-wing under the turning wheels, McCain, Bannon, Scaramucci, et al., at their failure to my standards as I would anyone on the Left-wing if we had or have overlap. No one is special, @Pepperm1nts.

Do you know which videos he posted? I'd like to see if either platform acted according to their terms of services.

They trolled an LGBT meeting at SXSW. The joke was, they've got a guy on the show who "is a computer," so they sent him in to the meeting and he self-identified as a computer, and just, sorta, had him self-identify as a computer. Which sounds harmless enough, but it got as cringey as you probably expect after a few decent chortles.

My guess is, the same day as the video came out (which didn't, to my recollection, violate anything other than common taste, but that's the joke I guess), Gawker types were simultaneously doing a big push on recording laws, re Veritas. The pattern I picked out was "Here's a news-ish outlet talking about hidden camera legality, here's Crowder doing a hidden camera, OH LOOK, banned." Dunno that they're related IRL but that's the connection I made at the time. Charitably, there certainly COULD be a connection to Crowder being conservative and Veritas being conservative and WOOOOOA REPRESSION but I think that's probably off in this case. He's got a much better case with demonetization, I think, but I'm not really paying attention.

Not really, this is basic marketing, everyone you listed has their niche appeal. Alex Jones built his crowd from the hardcore conspiracy niche and has over the top screaming presentation. He elevated himself to viral meme status. Ben Shapiros niche is an ultra-confident fast talking 'logic machine' who is very good at making left wing college students look stupid. Paul Joseph Watson is the classic 'dry humor' condescending british idealouge archetype that americans have always enjoyed. Milo is the flamoyant bitchy gay troll who can double up as a stand up comedian on his tours. Rush Limbaugh is also a flamboyant and extroverted personality (less so than milo or jones) and is helped by the fact he has been around for a LONG time and caught the wave of the always right leaning talk radio crowd who he's had a long time to appeal to.

Lauren Southern brings absolutely nothing to the table that someone else hasn't done more successfully before her. She doesn't attempt to be funny, she isn't very good in debates, nothing about her demeanor stands out. She's popular because shes a pretty girl with right wing opinions. Sex appeal is all she has.

I challenge you to 'describe' Lauren Southern's personality to me in a way that might make me or any other men in my age group interested in listening to her if I didn't already know she was a hot 22 year old blonde. If you think Lauren Southern would have the same audience if she was a fat 78 year old balding mexican man you are dreaming. Don't downplay the effect of optics.

Sounds like you're calling me a sexist. AD-HOMINEM!1! (See how easy that is?)

And what personality? Please market Lauren's personality to me in a way that would make want to listen to her if I didn't know what she looked like. You know for a fact her followers would be a fraction of what they are if she wasn't an attractive girl. Tell me why brittany pettibone is popular, I'm curious to see why you think she is? Her personality?

@Pepperm1nts Dude honestly dont bother.

They have selective ignorance when it comes to the alt-right. You present them anyone who actually holds white nationalist beliefs and they will just say 'never heard of them'. The know exactly who the alt right is but they cant acknowledge them because it hurts their arguments. I long gave up on trying to find common ground with dishonest people.

@Dynamo Frokane

Which is my point, that everyone has their niche appeal, but all of it has to deal with who they are speaking to, how they are saying it, and what they are saying. In the case of Lauren Southern, as with any of the other names, I could not tell you anything about her because I do not listen to her, just as I do not listen to any of the others; she has as little of my ear as Alex Jones or Milo Yiannopoulos does. In fact if it were not for the sole truth people constantly complain about her being, and I quote, an "Alt-Right blonde white woman", I wouldn't know who she is at all; the name would have no value to me, just as the fact I would have no idea Ben Shapiro is Jewish if people hadn't begun blasting him for supporting Donald Trump as a Jew.

It seems fairly clear the only ones who care that she has "sex appeal" are the ones constantly screaming at the top of their lungs about her being that. For myself I find this laden with a heavy dose of irony, that it seems to be acceptable racism and sexism - claiming she is only successful because she's white and a woman - more than the fact she's an online personality and political activist from the Right-wing in the middle of a heated divide between two ideologies where it is relatively easy to get famous as a "Hero of the Right" by so much as beating a bunch of roleplaying communist ninjas with a stick or being a Fed-Ex man who puts out a burning American flag.

And yes, I will gleefully play down the "effect of optics" as I can point to any list of the so-called "Alt-Right" and say appearance or history makes for pretty minor impact with these people, as I already noted. No less, it bears mention again I have stated previously while the sexual attraction factor assuredly exists, it is probably not the fact she rose to fame at all. Having a pretty face reliably will help someone than not, but claiming that is all they are, not what they say or do? Blatant double standard.

As an addendum,

The know exactly who the alt right is but they cant acknowledge them because it hurts their arguments. I long gave up on trying to find common ground with dishonest people.

No, some of us do not actually hold them as messiah or even follow anyone, let alone their word as "Right-wing gospel". The only dishonesty going on here is your willful labeling of people who you believe to sympathize with "white nationalists" and attempting to leverage that belief as the lone truth when I doubt any significant number of people here, let alone the "Alt-Right", are white nationalists. To date I personally am relegated to a "part" of that tribal divide and made into the "other" and I have still yet to meet a single "true" Alt-Righter who embodies any of the supposed qualities, be them seeing other races as lesser, to wanting an ethno-state, to flying any colors but the United States' flag or the Gadsden battle flag.

I don't think anyone here, for one minute, thinks that her looks did not help jump start her career and popularity. Of course appearance helps, a lot of popular youtube personalities are attractive people. The question is how has she managed to keep and then maintain such a huge following, it's because she has something to say and show that people want to hear about. The reasons I can think off hand, are her making fun of extreme PC culture, attempts at doing investigative journalism, and not being afraid of getting into potentially dangerous situations. Some of her most recent work I believe was in South Africa to try and cover the deadly farmer killings going on there.

Now I don't follow her and have seen only some of her stuff but it seems to me it's her plain speech and drive to get into the thick of things, despite what other people may think of her, that appeals to people. Has she made mistakes? Done some questionable things? Sure, most people have but she keeps going on with her work and has managed to get out some interesting material and stories.

I mean, if you want to go the physical attractiveness argument then you got our buddy Justin Trudeau up in Canada who is well loved because of his looks, nice guy attitude, and of course weed[never underestimate the power of weed :) ]. Nowadays he is one of the biggest jokes of the international community because of his bad policies and stupid mistakes like the now infamous 'peoplekind' joke. His substance is found completely wanting and a lot of people can't wait for him to go away. Lauren Southern has a stable fan base and while partially due to her general attractiveness is also largely due to her actual content, stances on issues, and willingness to attempt the controversial[but not illegal] to get certain points across. She went out of her way to legally become a man in Canada for instance, which is rather creepy how easy it was to do without changing anything about herself. Attractiveness helps but can only get you so far before people start abandoning them in the droves.

As for Brittany Pettibone...meh I don't have anything really to say as frankly she was barely even on my radar and was only reminded of her existence during this recent travel ban.
