Pretty sure villains are off limits at this time.

But without clones you wouldn't have Superboy, Bizarro, X-23, (Ultimate) Jessica Drew, the X-Babies...

You wouldn't have Madelyne Pryor retconned into being Jean Grey's clone, thus ruining Scott Summer's entire personality and tearing away any future credit to the morals he had always had before then. Guy Gardner's clone, the entirely original Joe Gardner, wouldn't exist. Or Lex Luthor faking his own death, putting his consciousness into a clone, using an Australian accent, and claiming to be his own son. Inertia. Ragnarok. Ultimate Gwen Stacy/Carnage amalgam. The list goes on.

Bizarro technically didn't start off as a clone, that was only one version introduced in the 80's. The rest are straight fucked, though...

As such, given the vast amount of hero or anti-hero characters at your disposal, no original characters are to be permitted. And for the time being, pending the game's future, all outright villains are to be NPCs left to the discredition of the hero players. (The player playing Superman has control over his rogues gallery, Spider-Man has the same, ect.) To use one of them, PMing the hero player for permission is required. In absence of one of those, say for a villain who has yet to receive a hero player (perhaps nobody applies for Green Lantern, but you want to use Sinestro), the game's GMs will decide. But be warned, the more central to a major character, the less likely the approval.

Yep, right on the OP.

Ultimate Jessica Drew is one of those things I’m not sure if I’m okay with all these years later.

@Lord Wraith It says it's allowed if I get permission.

What it's actually saying is that if you, as a heroic PC, want to use a villainous NPC usually associated with a completely different hero that isn't being played yet, then that you can ask to use. As an NPC.

Which in turn would require you to portray said villain NPC as designed and/or desired by the Hero Player.

Which unless it's @Nightrunner, means you wouldn't be able to make them a vampire.

I mean its only been a few months for most of these places so that makes sense. I imagine tech cities like Metropolis and Gateway are nearing some kind of breakthrough if they don't already have generation 1 prototypes. People like Trask are probably making bank with all of the lucrative contracts and funding.

Some kind of superpowered arms race.

That may or may not be something I will be touching on with Oscorp :shifty eyes:

I would be very much against Vampire Kingpin. Haha

I’ll be hinting at it with Washington DC and with Gateway’s National Voyeur. Then again, I already have started pushing that narrative.

I'm not subtle.

But... what about vampire Doc Ock? Now, hear me out. His tentacles are equipped with syringe tips to pierce and drain his victims of their blood in a more efficient method.

You can thank me later.

Yeah you're probably right. And they'd likely give it some weird name based around the Latin word for death or whatever.

No, that’s a terrible idea.

That would only exist in a world where some silly code prevented people from discussing or showing fictional undead things. Ridiculous, right? That's too stupid to ever happen.

At this point, my massive ego has already assumed you've somehow lifted every single idea from the 350+ pages of private notes I had on Spider plans.

I'm watching you...

Code? Who follows a code, they're more like guidelines than actual rules anyways.
