You'll grow out of it. I mean, not permanently. But it won't be so overwhelming and intrusive in a year or two.

As for me, I just got a scanner for my birthday so I'm going to be drawing more!

I like to find face claims for characters I'll probably never use for families I'll probably never publicly debut because I have nothing better else to do with my free time.

When I do opt for artwork of a character, I tend to invest in it as an original work and reach out to my contacts for it. As a result, I have a small collection of now unused pieces from prior topics and games, some extravagant, others far more tame. It is a quirk of mine that I enjoy and prefer characters perfectly true to their design I had in mind and not something I was able to find, as for some reason it gives the sensation they are not the same - as they are not of course - which negatively influences my enjoyment of that persona's presentation.

I've only ever had one character that wasn't Caucasian.

Not because I'm racist, but because I'd like to be able to represent the ethnicity that I'm writing for without coming across stereotypical or racists, ya know? I'm just scared that I'll do something disrespectful and portray the character in a totally wrong way. If that makes sense.

I just straight up prefer not using real people as face claims in my RP's. For a medium that celebrates creativity of fiction, using real people in roleplays (even face claims) always feels a little weird to me. Also, in that same vein. If I can be anything other than a human in a roleplay, I will more than likely choose something else. Because again I feel like what people can and what they have done to humans has almost been entirely explored and done to death. For obvious reasons sure, but I'll say from personal experiences alone people in general are far more creative with personality, backstories, dialect etc for non-human characters and plot lines. Which from a writing perspective is desirable for me.

I portray various races in my writing. I have no fear like the one you mention. I simply portray the character as a normal human being because that is exactly what any person is regardless of their race. Even in the book I am writing I have a team of twelve people who are the following races: four Caucasian males, three African men, two Caucasian females, two Asians and one Mexican. I have written out personality sheets on all twelve, whom I identify with 12 different people I know. I attempt to write their personalities based on the real life people I have assigned to these characters.

I've made mostly vampire or vampire hybrid characters until a few months ago.

One of the best characters I had wrote was based off an individual I knew. Who, when I presented it to them, were simultaneously horrified that they were the inspiration, the persona, for a monstrous thing - imagine a timid, uncertain, flighty soul who lusts for power having it suddenly and recklessly abusing it - and at the same time willing to concede that would be the most likely of outcomes. Of course it edged more closely to the grim and the dark tones, yet it made for a wonderful experience; the idea of what a well known would almost assuredly do.

Odds are that if a movie monster is an animal, I'll be on the creature's side. Drunk driver kill your cub, Mama Bear? Rip and tear! Genetically engineered creature abused and neglected by its creators? I will enjoy almost every second of its rampage. Bonus points if they kill a lawyer.

As far as I can recall, the first song I've ever memorized word-for-word was Unfaithful by Rihanna. I was like 7 and I didn't quite understand it was about cheating but I mean I didn't care I liked it and thought it was a pretty song. I could probably still sing it off the top of my head now but.. eh. Not my kinda song anymore.

@Gunther@HaleyTheRandom
No one should be faulted for the racial diversity, or the lack their of, in their roleplaying. The nice thing about Roleplaying is that it's your imagination, and it is your choice, and no one should be judged for it. You don't need to be racist and only play one race, just like it's not sexist of me to play only male characters simply because I am more comfortable playing characters of my sex. That does not mean I judge women, and I do not believe Haley would ever judge someone of a different race. But that is good advice Gunther. We're all people.

We're all people.

The sabertooth visibly squints.

Humor aside yet on a related note, I much prefer players in my circles to play characters they are comfortable and skilled with rather than purposefully striking out to be different for the sake of having a different character. So recurrent sexes, races, archetypes, and so on are acceptable and desired from me if they are strong personalities and have a distinctive persona to them. The matter becomes different if I note they are cliches or terribly overused but that goes back to the matter of them being distinctive.
