"T-Thanks, but I sh-shouldn't even be a-alive right now. L-Literally. I-I've seen so many e-eras rise and fall. I s-shouldn't be here. I shouldn't k-know you guys. I s-shouldn't be with her."
Whatever else Julie might have said Cienna couldn’t hear it, the last part of that sentence rang through her very being shaking her harder than anything. The tears that had just recently stopped thanks to Julie recovering started falling again, it felt like her heart was breaking even if she had only just met this woman earlier this evening, whether it be magic or something else that influenced the soul bond it had hit her hard. Hearing Julie say that made her feel like she didn’t even deserve to be with her. ‘That’s what being evil gets you’ she thought to herself her head dropping silently as she just kneeled on the side walk.
Everything else may have ceased to exist at that very moment and she wouldn’t have noticed, Her wings usually kept folded back against her or in flight ready position now just dropped sitting on the ground behind her, not even having the will to hold them up. Somewhere in the back of her mind she knew that letting her wings get so wet was bad but she couldn’t care. Nothing mattered if Julie didn’t want to be with her.
“I’m sorry…” her voice would be barely above a whisper, who she was speaking to not even she truly knew. Was she apologizing to herself for choices that she felt were made for her, or was she apologizing to Julie for not being perfect, or in fact to everyone for being who she is. If she had the emotional strength left to her she would have stood and started walking, however she found neither the strength nor the desire to move. She would simply kneel here for the rest of her life or so it felt to her at this point.

Fritz just sat in stunned silence, tightly hugging Julie as she fell into him again. He looked at Cienna's wrist, and nodded at her, cordially patting her shoulder. He couldn't muster a smile. Everything Julie had just said deeply upset him. She sounded like she thought she shouldn't even be here. When she suggested she didn't deserve to be soulmates with Cienna, he became suddenly impassioned. "You stop that kind of talk. There are many things people don't deserve, but they get anyway. But everyone deserves love. Love is the greatest natural disaster of them all. And you two are made for each other. That's really a miracle, don't you think? Even if we weren't meant to be friends, you two were meant to be together. Don't say you shouldn't be with her."

Suddenly, throwing him out of his bohemian love-frenzy was a presence in their air. From the other side of the building he felt what seemed like a strong light. Oh no, it could only be one thing. An angel. He looked around for a second, checking that it wasn't near.

He then closed his eyes, concentrating on some unknown force. In an instant there was a dark sensation in the air that anyone could feel. It was like his scent, a threat, telling the angel to leave. As he opened his eyes, they seemed to glow, turning almost amber. His focus went back to the situation at hand. He beckoned to Cienna, trying to get her to help comfort Julie instead of siting there like she was catatonic.

Julie shook her head to herself. They just didn't understand. She was feeling quite homesick. The only problem was that home was thousands of years in the past. She lay there on Fritz for what felt like days until, finally, she heard the ambulance. Two paramedics stepped out and headed over to her. "It's alright, we'll take her from here," they told Fritz and the rest of them. They got her to stand and put a shock blanket around her before guiding her into the back of the van. "She's going to SCO Hospital if you want to visit." They drove off as quickly as they had arrived.

When they arrived, they checked her in. She was scheduled to stay in the hospital until her doctor felt that she was in a good mindset once more. Visitors were allowed, as her doctor believed that it would help her move along in the process. At the moment, Julie was sleeping in her bed. But Erin was wide awake in her mind.

Cienna barely even acknowledged the world kneeling there on the ground, she hadn’t noticed the demon beside her attempts to garner her attention to comfort Julie, she hadn’t heard the Ambulance approaching, she barely even registered the words that the ambulance driver spoke.
"She's going to SCO Hospital if you want to visit."
The words passed over her, somewhere her mind deemed it important enough to remember but she couldn’t tell you where. She wanted to cease existing as the pain from her chest washed over her like waves crashing on the shore line built by rocks. After the ambulance vanished into the throng of cars and other traffic her body began to shake as she was wracked by sobs.
She curled into herself tighter wrapping her arms around her chest to keep the pain at bay, or to hold herself together. The only thing she was aware of at that moment is the emptiness she felt at Julie being taken away, it felt to her like she was out of her reach forever at this point. Like her heart belonged in a different time, maybe even to someone else.
‘I’m horrible’ she thought to herself not wanting to acknowledge the world, feeling as if it had fallen away completely leaving her kneeling, curled in a world of darkness all alone, with nothing but her thoughts to torment her.

Owen thought for a second before he got another idea about how to feed his soul mate. "Well... I suppose I could make steak tartare for you. I mean I must imagine that you like your meat raw and that's the most raw dish that I can think of. Cooking is cathartic for me. It helps me keep calm." Owen said feeling like there were other questions that Abel wanted to ask. Everyone always had the other questions. It was as if there was a check list over his head of questions to ask him. Everyone always asked them and he was fine with Abel asking him. He was eventually going to show Abel his lab after cleaning it up. Nothing ruined the mood like a liver in the fridge. Abel might like it.

"It is really quite boring. I mean it is filled with corpses and zombies. Sometimes people like that kind of thing. I find it very calming." Owen said thinking about his next question. "If I could go just about anywhere? I would go to Egypt.
My family hails from Egypt and I heard that is is beautiful. It would be more fun if you were there.
Owen admitted knowing that he had the money to go there himself. His family had always had it's fingers in different money sources of income. Still he would want to take Abel along so he could explain everything to someone else.

"What about you? Where would you want to go? Also you can ask me whatever you want. I shouldn't hide myself from you. I mean I've had your name on my arm for as long as I can remember. "

It wasn’t a surprise that Julie was…well, pretty damn old, to put it bluntly. Seeing as there was no need for them to hide anymore, stumbling into someone who was a century old at least was becoming more and more common by the day. It wasn’t surprising that she seemed so tired of it all, either. Stride rocked back on her heels, scratching her jaw with a gloved hand. “What Fried said,” she said, eventually. “Look, I haven’t been ‘round long ‘nough for me to know what seein’ ‘eras rise n’ fall’ ‘s like, but here’s the thing. You’re livin’ for someone else now. Ya got yourself a fairy who seems real worried ‘bout you, and it sure as hell seems like she ain’t leavin’ anytime soon. So just...y’know. You ain’t alone anymore in the whole lastin’ long thing.”

It was a relief when the paramedics finally showed, taking Julie off their hands and away to the hospital. There were people out there trained in dealing with age fatigue, and Stride definitely wasn’t one of them. She waited until the ambulance puttered away and out of sight before turning to Cienna, giving her a somewhat awkward tap on the arm.

“Hey, lady. D’ya need a ride home or anythin’? Might take a while, but if ya tell me where to go I can get ya there.”

Most of the warmth had gone out of her packs by now, and she was feeling a tad lightheaded from the cold, but it wasn’t like the hummer didn’t have a heater.

Before the other responded, however, Stride suddenly tensed. Her fingers flew to her hip, and, upon coming up empty, she gave a slight curse under her breath. She had been in enough fights to be able to pick up on those little magic auras or airs or whatever-you-called-’em, and this wasn’t exactly an atmosphere that screamed “welcome”. She glanced about, searching for an unseen threat, only to catch the last flicker of amber drain from Fritz’s eyes.

“Somethin’ up?” Stride kept her voice down, trying not to worsen Cienna’s hysteria. A possible threat was one of the last things they needed at the moment.

Abel nodded and was thrilled that owen was okay with him preferring raw meats. "I would love that. I am terrible at cooking. I can smell all the ingredients but actually making food....not raw doesnt work so much" He was opening up enough for a sense of humor to make an appearance. The ghost that felt like it was still there was not even getting a tingle out of him anymore. Maybe it was his ability to adapt...after all, his family were snow leopards living in texas. If he could live there he could adapt to feeling ghosts everywhere.

Abel blinked and then tilted his head. "Zombies?" He shook his head as if he was shaking the questions from his mind. He did not want to push to hard...after all they had literally just met. He focused instead on what was said next. "I would love to take you there. Whenever you want" He couldn't cook, but he could go wherever owen wanted. No matter how hot it was...he would just have to wear clothes that were very breathable. His natural tendency to be warm not working for him for once.

Abel thought for a moment. "Id love to go to the mountains of central asia. See snow leopards up close..." He was always curious about his other side. He had never seen a wild snow leopard...and somehow it felt unfair. After all, werewolves could get a view of their wild counterpart anytime they wished...but his....his was far more secretive and rare. Abel focused himself from this thoughts. "Im okay with going whatever pace you are...I don't want to rush you into exposing everything about yourself" He sounded reassuring...and honest. Which he was. While he was certainly curious about all of owen, he wouldn't push for exposure of every little thing right away.

Zephyr detected the presence of a demon and a not quite demon that seemed to be hidden to his senses. ‘Maybe repressed’ he thought to himself and would have chosen to ignore the abominations and continue to enter the main lobby tracking the source of the magic when he felt the presence of the demon expand rather exponentially. He felt the warning behind it, magic attack aside even with an alpha priority he would not take this in passing, He stepped back following the trace of the essence towards a group where an ambulance had just roared off towards its destination.
He could clearly see a demon but the repressed demon had vanished now, ‘the ambulance’ he thought stepping forward his face impassive as he looked over the demon, “do not presume to tell me to leave filth.” He spat the last word as if it were a compliment to the demon he had never met. Simply being a demon was more than enough to earn his disgust. “I go where the church wills when they do, you would do wise to remember that.” His tone was matter of fact before he turned to return to his investigation his warning quite evident.

Cienna felt someone tap her on the shoulder it was enough to bring the real world crashing back in on her she turned to face the direction she thought that the person who had touched her was when she heard.
Hey, lady. D’ya need a ride home or anythin’? Might take a while, but if ya tell me where to go I can get ya there.”
She would nodded softly tears still falling from her face as her mind continually looped on the same things.
“Please… can you take me to the hospital…” her voice barely a whisper above the sounds of the others, She completely ignored the new presence if because she was totally unable to process any more input. “I have to apologize.’ She would add more to herself than to the woman who seemed to not know how to comfort her though she was trying. On some level Cienna would appreciate that and if her mind weren’t an endless loop of ‘you’re horrible, she hates you, you don’t deserve to live’ she would have even said so.
She would then fall silent while she waited for the woman to reply her body shaking, whether from the rain chilling her now or the incredibly deep depression she was feeling, the pain of her emotions, not even she could tell. She wanted to see Julies face once more, even if it were only once more and Julie decided she never wanted to talk to her again she would honour that.

Owen smiled as he tried to think of what else he could cook for Abel. "I mean I once cooked Beef Carpaccio or I could make raw steak. I heard that cold steak is supposedly really good. I could make that for you." He said smiling at the idea. He wanted Abel to feel that he could be himself around him. He didn't want Abel to be anyone but himself and he seemed rather interesting. He would have to show that he was just as interesting.

Owen just looked at him as if that was Tuesday for him. Zombies were just a large part of his world. "I have never had anyone say something like that. It is kind of amazing... I mean I already know you are a great guy. Better than I deserve." Owen said mumbling the last part to himself. He didn't know if Abel had super hearing or something. Owen pulled out his phone for a second and looked at the search engine. "We could go to Asia. Or we could go to San Diego? I mean they would be easier to see at the San Diego Zoo. I heard it took months for Planet Earth just to get a picture of a snow leopard in the Himalayas. Though I must imagine a were snow leopard could find them easier... " Owen said smiling at Abel with his best smile. He just made him happy. "I am fine with whatever you want to know. I mean you are my soulamte. I can't have secrets from you..."

Fritz eventually let go of Julie, giving her an almighty squeeze before handing her over to the paramedics. He turned unceartainly to Stride. It was clear she felt the wave of darkness in the air. "No, I'm fine. I just felt something odd in the air. And I'm worried about Julie." He quickly added the last sentence to seem like he was thinking about what just happened. Truth be told, his mind was just on the angel. "You take the fairy to the hospital, I have some business to attend to."

He stood up, his legs shaking, and he shuffled over to Cienna. "Listen here, buddy." He whispered. His voice sounded icy, but firm. "Remember what I said about love. You two were meant to be. You're going to make it through. Your her soulmate, is she has any sense (which I know she has) no matter what you've done, you've been forgiven a thousand times. Just know if you ever intentionally hurt her, I will destroy you. This time though, it clearly wasn't intentional. You don't look like you have it in you to hurt her. That's a good sign. Our Julie deserves the best." He gave her a final pat on the shoulder, before stalking into the building, calling "Think about it!" over his shoulder. He turned around to wave, his eyes glowing again.

He swaggered into the lobby of his apartment block, noting the tall figure he saw. An angel, clearly. He sent out another signal, this one slightly calmer than the last. "I hope you know I have nothing to do with it, Gottanhänger." Gottanhänger, meaning God follower, was the name he gave to all angels. "You have no need to be here, there was a magical accident with the hurricane clearly. The woman was trying to kill herself. Now, get the hell out of my building!" He said it with such coolness, his eyes lighting the room, a regular human would be horrified. Angels, however, were tough cookies.

“Odd, huh?” Stride didn’t press the subject, aside from a raised brow that went hidden beneath her goggles. A blast like that hadn’t felt like a signal of worry, but there were other things to do than to spend her time interrogating the guy on what he had felt. Rolling her shoulders, Stride knelt down to help Cienna to her feet, then began to walk in the direction of the apartment’s garage. “No problem, lady. Might take a while with all the traffic n’ shit, but I know the place.” Her knowledge of the hospital largely consisted of the fact that, after certain missions, she’d often wind up there herself. Regeneration could do a whole lot, but not exactly when your insides had decided to become your outsides. Stride absently placed a hand below her ribs, then retrieved her keyring from her pocket as she kept forward.

Stride’s car had as much personality as the woman herself- a bright red Hummer H3 with worn leather seats, and a radio that was screaming “Heart-Shaped Box” before Stride politely turned the volume down for her guest. A part of her felt that shutting it off entirely would have been the better move, but given the fact that that would make the drive consist of a long, awkward silence, it felt better to just keep it on for background noise at least.

The song had changed several times over before they made it to the hospital, upon which Stride stalled the car and glanced over to her passenger.“A’ight, here we are. Ya...want my number or somethin’ so ya got a ride back? Don’t know if you’re gonna be wantin’ to stay the night here or not.”

She heard the man attempting to cheer her up with words of advice that she only just registered before the woman who had offered to take her somewhere helped her to her feet. Her wings drooping behind her she walked, something she would never do, the small rocks and debris that she stepped over hurting her feet but she didn’t care. Unlike others that have walked all their lives the bottom of her feet are incredibly soft thanks to not actually being used. She couldn’t care less however, when they reached the car that she was led to she would look up, it was monstrous to her small body, she would spread her wings and lift herself up getting in the car.
As the woman started her car the music that came blasting out hurt her ears causing her to flinch visibly. When it was turned down she would bring her knees up to her chest and lower her head. The world would blur by outside of her own mind, she barely even heard the radio now playing as background sound. It could have been a millennium or it could have been a second before they arrived at the hospital she couldn’t have told you.
“A’ight, here we are. Ya...want my number or somethin’ so ya got a ride back? Don’t know if you’re gonna be wantin’ to stay the night here or not.”
Cienna would look up at the woman her eyes seeming empty as she looked at the mask that the woman wore. She considered it for a moment “I… I… I don’t know…” she answered truthfully before continuing “h… how far… ar… are we from…” she would breathe softly “Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library” a dejected look on her face, if she could find the library where she worked she would be able to make it home from here on her own without having to be a burden to anyone else. “I…if… if it’s… not too far…” she looked down again “I… I can get home…” she would say softly as she waited for The woman to respond. “Cienna… it… it’s… my… my name…” she would add after a few seconds. “th… thank… thank you…” she would reach into the other side of her top pulling out her small purse, opening it she would pull out a few notes feeling them before handing over a $100 note. “f…for… fuel…” she says softly.

Stride leaned back in her seat, brow creasing with thought. “Can’t say I’ve heard of the place,” she mumbled. “Give me a sec.” One hand still on the wheel, she pulled her phone from her pocket and quickly tapped out the name given. “It’s…’bout a block from here, so not too far or anythin’.” She paused, then looked up at Cienna. “Look, I’m gonna give you my number anyway. Case ya get into trouble or some shit like that on the way back.” While the woman seemed to have her own way of getting around, she was still very much blind- and a rather little thing, to boot. Even if it was just to put her own mind at rest, Stride rattled off her number before putting her phone away, looking Cienna over.

“Call me Stride,” she replied. Upon catching sight of the bill Cienna was pushing her way- especially of just how much the thing was worth- Stride quickly pushed it back into the fairy’s hand, grunting a little. “Keep it. Wasn’t too long of a drive, so ya don’t gotta worry ‘bout that.”

Stride hung around in the parking lot for a bit longer, until she was sure that the lady would make it safely inside, before kicking the engine up again and driving off. With Julie and Cienna now at the hospital, her mind turned to other, less pressing things.

Namely, the fact that the last time she saw her apartment, it looked to be a complete wreck.

She let out a groan under her breath. Hopefully her electricity would still be good, or else she’d be massively fucked.

When the woman who had introduced herself as stride told her to keep it she would turn to face her before slowly nodding putting it away again and jumping out of the car using her wings to glide to the ground and then letting her wings droop down again she would walk into the hospital. The cold white of the overly polished floor and sterile air hit her like a truck. It made her feel ill that she was the reason that Julie ended up here. She would walk past several people who happened to be milling around the main entrance who gave her more than just a second look. She ignored the looks that she was getting from the humans, not only was it rare to see a fairy, but one who was dressed in so little and bigger than a few inches was a sight to see.
She approached the information services window raising her wings and flittering up so that she could see above it. The woman behind the counter was an older nurse with greying hair and big broad framed glasses.
“What can I help you with dearie.” Her aged voice asked gently, a much practiced tone of friendliness there even if she could see how Cienna felt with the look on her face she never let it slip.
Cienna would produce her wrist for the lady to read Julies full name “Is she here?” her voice was soft and slightly scared.
“Lemme just check for you dearie” she responded as the sounds of her fingers tapping on a keyboard reached her. “Yes, she’s just checked into ward 1… that’s odd” she said softly before continuing “It says here that’s a public access ward.” With a look of suspicion, that should be a private wing.
“Can I get her put in private please” Cienna would say softly, and pay all medical bills please.” She said producing her credit card and handing it over. “anything she wants… Please…” she asked again softly.
A few more key strokes and the older woman replied with “All done love, would you like to go see her now?”
“Please, but… can I get help… I’m blind…” she said again.
The old lady then organized to have someone come and take Cienna to Julie, upon arriving to the room she would find a way to a chair, moving it close to Julie’s bed and would sit beside it holding her hand.

The night slowly vanished as she sat there holding Julies hand her own thoughts racing in circles, driving her to distraction. Eventually she must have drifted to sleep as she felt a soft hand touch her shoulder and she opened her eyes to find light coming in through the blinded windows.
"'scuse me miss." the younger nurse said to her. "But, I think you should be headin' home yourself soon, gotta take care o' yerself too ya know" her thick accent not bothering Cienna at all. "'ah promise if ya come back this aftanoon they'll let you back 'ere." she continued unabated.

Cienna didn't want to move and said as much in a quite voice, before the nurse explained that she really needed to look after herself and get some rest, and that Julie would still be here waiting for her. She also promised that when Julie woke up they would call her immediately so she agreed to go home. The nurse must have been told that Cienna was blind as she escorted her to the main doors and asked if she had a way to get home.

Cienna would nod slowly, "I can make my way..." she said as she spread her wings to take off raising into the air the nurse noted that her feet were bruised and cut from walking.
"Your feet." the nurse said shocked before making her sit on a chair while she bandaged them. "Keep offa them lil miss, you'll do ya self more damage than good" her instructions were firm.

The wind was rather turbulent outside so Cienna was unable to read it to find her way to the library. So she did the only thing she could think, she pulled out her cell phone, which surprisingly hadn't died on her. She Gave the phone the command to ring the number that Stride had entered and waited while it rang.

She answered on the third call..
"Stride?" her voice was small... "can you please take me home?" she would sound like she was crying having to ask this of someone else.

Abel felt that smile he had grow larger with each part owen said. That is...until abel caught him saying he was better then what owen deserved. He let owen continue, but his smile was basically gone now. The thought that his soulmate hated himself. He looked down, the words hit him hard. After owen finished, abel stood then made his way to owen and crouched down in front of him. Clearly, those words had settled on him heavily.

"Owen....You deserve to be happy. Don't sell yourself short" He paused uncertain before reaching forward and hugging his should mate. It felt like the best hug he had ever given. Like he was home. He couldn't help it. Pretty soon a soft noise was escaping his throat. If anyone knew cats, they would know that that sound was purring. He was content...happy even to be touching his should mate. He didn't even think about whether or not his should mate would be really weirded out about it or not.
Abel eventually pulled back and gave him a small smile. "I insist you stay the night" It was pretty late already anyway, but he really didn't want owen leaving yet. It made him happy to have him in his home...his scent mixed with his.

~Time Skip~

Abel had decided to give owen the bed so that his soulmate would be comfortable. His sleeping form in only sweatpants took up the length of the couch as light began to stream into the window. It was more clear in the daylight that his furniture was arranged so that the sun's lights would hit each piece of furniture depending on the time of day.

Fortunately enough for Stride’s health, both electricity and heating hadn’t been disrupted by the storm. Unfortunately, however, the lighting wasn’t as lucky, and nearly all of her windows had been shattered. She had spent the night picking glass from the floorboards by candle, and, after missing a few choice pieces, out of her heels.

It had only taken one short call for the NYCD (or the New York Cryptid Department, if you wanted to be all formal) to give her a pass for coming into work today, and another for her insurance to fork over a lump of cash for the damages. After all, unless one was a mage themselves, there was little one could do to prepare for a sudden magical storm. Lawrence Kelly, the receptionist for the first, had tipped Stride off to the fact that she’d likely be assigned to the case upon her return.

To be completely honest, the idea pleased her greatly. If the storm had gotten any worse, the investigators reported, then they would have been lucky to get away with just the building’s destruction. As long as the person responsible for this crime was out there, hundreds- if not thousands- of innocent lives would be at stake.

Currently, however, Stride was busy preparing breakfast herself, head bobbing to the beat of “Living on a Prayer” blaring from her phone’s speakers. It was hardly a five star meal, given that it consisted solely of a platter of pizza bites and a bottle of Coke, but it would do well enough. She had just pulled the plate out of the microwave when her phone buzzed, and, carefully balancing her prize in one hand, she grabbed the phone with the other and brought it up to her ear.

“Oh, hey, ah...Cienna, yeah?” She listened as the fairy from last night cried softly from the other end, then glanced up at the ceiling, inhaling through her nose. “I'll come get’cha in a sec- just gotta get ready first. Hang on ‘til then.”

With that, Stride ended the call, and, after quickly stuffing a handful of bites into her mouth, stuffed the plate and soda into the fridge and went to retrieve her mask from her room.

Eventually, after wading through traffic and winding through city streets, Stride drove up to where Cienna was waiting and rolled the window down. “Alright,” she drawled. “Where we headin’?”

“Oh, hey, ah...Cienna, yeah?”
“I'll come get’cha in a sec- just gotta get ready first. Hang on ‘til then.”
Cienna would make a small accent after which she would hear the line going dead as presumably as Stride went to get ready, she informed the nurse that a friend was coming to collect her and she floated to a chair sitting down her head hanging. She sat there for a while listening to the breeze as it continued to stir around her and wondering what she should do, it was a day off today so she didn’t have to go to work though she thought it might be nice to find a book to read to Julie, even if she’s sleeping, she can still hear right.
It wasn’t that long when she heard that familiar gruff voice of Stride saying,
“Alright,”
“Where we headin’?”
She looked towards the voice and forced a smile “Do you want to get some food?” she asked her tone would still sound soft and sad but which put it at odds with the forced smile she was trying to put on. “I’m hungry, and know of a good place near where I work, my treat” she said as an after thought, it was a way to get to somewhere she knew along with a way to repay Stride for helping her.
The restaurant she was refering to wasn’t your average run of the mill deal, it would pass for a five star joint any day offering the best of choices, and best of all they catered to blind people as well which had always drawn her there. She absolutely adored to food that they sold there even if others might find it expensive she had always thought that the food was worth it.
“It’s called the Crescent Moon” she said softly, it was a popular restaurant and she hoped that Stride, if not having been there had at least heard of it.

The demon may live here but Zephyr had a job to do and would not be stopped, he moved towards the elevator trusting his instincts to guide him to the source. Pressing the button to call the elevator he thought of the possible reasons for an attack of this level and who the possible mage was that stopped it. He had known a few strong enough to cancel a spell of the level that made this situation in the first place but they were long dead and gone.
‘interesting’ he thought to himself as the elevator climbed the sense of magic getting stronger the higher he went, though the dark magic was already breaking up beyond his senses though the light magic seemed to still permeate everything. He reached the floor where it was strongest. He would take note of the door, before knocking. Unsurprising to him no one was home so he decided to return at a later date.
He would ride the elevator down the stairs walking out into the rain once more looking up into the sky with a sigh “why do you test me with these trivialities” he said his voice devoid of emotions though sounding slightly strained. He would begin the trek back to the temple of the cross and report his findings. The journey was uneventful, but that isn’t saying much considering most people would leave someone that looked like him alone normally.
After arriving he sought out his handler and reported his discoveries before turning in for the night. The morning came all too quickly for him, his dreams tormented by memories of the past and thoughts of the future he too would face alone. A sigh escapes his lips, “if not for that fucking bastard Lucifer!” his tone displeased, yet sounding as if he had said this tone a million and one times.

Before Stride could even speak, her stomach had replied for her- its snarling somehow managing to be even louder than her car’s radio. The hybrid shrugged, waiting until Cienna had gotten in before pulling out of the driveway. “Got your answer there, I s’pose.” It had been awhile since she had gone out to any proper restaurant, so she supposed there wouldn’t be too much of a problem in grabbing breakfast now and saving the bites for later. However, upon Cienna’s mention of where she intended for them to eat, Stride couldn’t help but balk.

“Ya, ah, do know that place ain’t the cheapest ‘round here, yeah?” She glanced over at the Cienna, tapping the steering wheel with her palm. “If ya wanna pay for somethin’, don’t make it the fancy-ass joint. Wouldn’t mind eatin’ at McDonalds or some shit like that.”

Cienna would sit and listen as stride spoke thinking carefully over what she said before she would respond she would turn to face Stride so as to not be rude. Her eyes though sad had a small light in them. “Please Stride.” She would say “I go there because it’s a location I am familiar with and how to get home from there.” She would add the last part a little softer as if she were depressed by her dependency on familiarity. “And it’s really good, if you’re worried about the cost, please don’t.” she would sound adamant on this point. “I eat there every day that I work and the food is really good.” She would say with a small nod. “And you’re helping me out, so please let me at least do this much for you…” this part would almost sound pleading.
A small concession is all she wanted if she were within her familiar zone she wouldn’t have even had to call for help and this was the first time that she had, had to call on anyone else for help in a very long time. Occasionally the girls she worked with would want to take her out somewhere and they would guide her, but they always brought her back to the library even if it were after midnight, the wind today was bad though and her ability to use the wind to navigate was affected badly.
Days like this she wanted to curl up and lay in bed, but she wouldn’t not today. She would have breakfast, head to the library and then head back to the hospital. She would get there even if she had to get a taxi. She hated this being apart from Julie but what else could she do.

Owen woke up to the usual gibberish of the ghost. Usually when he woke up they would start chattering about some nonsense. This time they were chatting about Owen being in someone's bed. It took him a moment to figure out what had happened. He was on top of the sheets since didn't want to be a dick with cleaning up. He had removed most of his clothing except for his boxers to be comfortable.

Owen looked out of the door at his sleeping soulmate. He had wanted to stay in the bed with Abel but he hadn't asked. Owen walked into the kitchen to start cooking for them both. He just started to make scrambled eggs since he found some eggs. It would be an odd sight to see a nearly naked necromancer cooking eggs for his soulmate. Owen was in his own little world and wouldn't notice if Abel cane into the room. He was damn lucky to get a great soulmate. He was beautiful both inside and out.
