Current Sorry for the delay everyone. I've been absolutely swamped with work these last weeks. I'm getting my replies up slowly.

Keeping track of things makes it easier to avoid bad experiences! And to not make the same mistake like an idiot... :-/

Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and accend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity

It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"

Karina Frost

Truth be told, Karina was relieved when Týfurkh explained a bit more about his ability, stating it would be highly unlikely that their message would be intercepted. Like he explained, it was almost like a directed beam. The only ones who would be able to hear their message would be the respective recipient and whoever stood in the middle of the beam, which, in that case, they would need to be floating in midair to hear them.

"I see... I apologize for being so careful, but we are in a very troublesome situation... Caution is never enough." Karina said, with a thankful nod towards Týfurkh as he finished explaining it.

Týfurkh's following statement was a good one though. What if the tower was in bad conditions? They would somehow need to get to it's top. One way or another. Their group wasn't exactly the most... discreet one and the idea Karina had wouldn't help with discretion either. Luckily, DB offered himself to scout ahead of them.

"If you see, feel or even if anything, no matter how small, goes wrong, do not hesitate to retreat and call for our help." Karina said, with a respectful nod towards DB before he ran towards a nearby building and using it to reach the tower.

A few minutes went by as DB scouted ahead of them for any enemy or suspicious movement before he called them in a low tone. Much to their luck, everything seemed to be going perfectly well until that moment. Karina only hoped it would remain like that.

"The tower's structure seems to be fine. We should still be careful though." she said.

In the unlikely event that something happens, Karina could use her ice magic to get them to safety. It would be extremely taxing on her body depending on how much she would need to use, but if she needed to use it to guarantee the success of their mission, she wouldn't think twice.

As both her and Týfurkh got inside the building, Karina stopped for a moment, looking to Týfurkh and DB with a serious expression.

"Hear my words carefully, for I will not repeat myself." She said, with a serious tone.

"Hear thee not, the sweet whispers of Kaspar, lest you take his place when Samiel, the Black Huntsman comes to collect him." Karina said, making sure Týfurkh and DB were paying attention at every word she said.

"This is the message you must send to the forward operating base. It's a refference to mine and fath- General Viktor Frost's favourite Opera. Der Freischütz." Karina finished, hesitating noticeably when she was about to say that the general was her father. It was clear though that it wasn't because it was a secret, but it was more of something related to hierarchy, respect and how she was raised by him. It was also the first time she mentioned her father's name, which was another sign that she indeed trusted DB and Týfurkh.

Faeril's words to Dareen were harsh, but she spoke the truth. He didn't know exactly what Dareen's situation was when she started working for said mercenary company, but surely she had other choices, maybe she just didn't realize she had or simply ignored them. Mikhail wasn't an hypocryte to start saying anything about her hands being dirty with blood, about justice and life. After all, he stopped counting the amount of lives he took a good while ago...

Despite all that, no matter how many mistakes Dareen made, she was too... naïve and awfully honest to be guilty of what Gennar and Denvar were accusing her of. Mikhail was curious about her though. Given her reactions, how easily she showed her emotions & etc. he couldn't easily see her being a mercenary. Not only that, but there was no apparent reason for Faeril to keep her alive, yet, she did. Surely there was something behind her being so... lenient with someone who killed her Black Widow sisters.

After Gennar and Denvar got out of the room, Mikhail gave a few steps towards Dareen, sitting in a chair a few meters away from her, not that far to make a conversation difficult, but not as close as to make it uncomfortable neither for him nor for Dareen.

"Faeril kept you alive, despite having no reason to. Don't worry, you will live as long as you play your cards correctly." Mikhail said.

"Oh, a friendly advice..." Mikhail said, remembering that Dareen had muttered something about needing a drink.

"I strongly advise you against drinking the coffee Gennar made..." he said in what was half a warning and half a joke with a discreet smirk.

Despite the pain and the bleeding that Nera's attack caused, it was obvious for Ditzy that his efforts were indeed having results, as Nera was slowly reaching physical exhaustion despite her enhanced stamina due to the frenzied state she was. As he provoked her, smiling and moving forward Nera seemed to almost completely ignore his provocations, or maybe she wasn't even capable of understanding his words clearly due to the state she was.

The moment Ditzy got closer to her, Nera immediately lunged towards him, with her claws out, aiming for his throat. Unlike the previous time though, Nera knew by instinct not to underestimate Ditzy's strength and was prepared to quickly jump away as Ditzy dove towards her once more. Even though Ditzy's attack didn't succeed, it was clear to him that Nera, who was already exhausted, was spending much more energy in those lunges and dashes she gave than Ditzy. Being wary of him also meant that Ditzy could use that in his favor to move closer to the sandbag without her realizing it.

Freyr

Finally having recovered his senses, Freyr quickly analyzed the situation going on between Nera and Ditzy. While he was indeed relieved to see that Ditzy was somehow being able to keep Nera in check, he knew he could do something. Even if Nera was exhausted, she was still a frenzied Viera, and thus, was extremely deadly.

As Ditzy maneuvered around the battlefield, Freyr sneaked behind Nera, waiting for the perfect opportunity to tackle her. The second she jumped back, avoiding Ditzy's attack was the perfect moment.

Lunging towards Nera with a surprising burst of speed, even for Freyr himself, he tackled her from behind, getting her by surprise as both of them went to the ground.

While Freyr wasn't as strong as Ditzy and certainly couldn't compete in strength against a frenzied Viera, he could still buy some time for Ditzy to get his weapon.

"NOW! Get your weapon and knock her out!" Freyr shouted as Nera quickly got up and swung her claws in a deadly swipe, aiming for Freyr, who was able to dodge it by little.

Nagare's breath, already strong due to her assuming her dragon form, was further enhanced by the fores's magic, which, surprisingly enough was combining with her own. The more she damaged the barrier, the more Nagare could feel the forest's breath and magic revitalizing her.

The crystal, which was already beggining to crack was finally overwhelmed by Nagare's magic coupled with the forest's, causing it to shatter in many small pieced, immediately opening the section of the barrier it was mantaining.

As the hole in the barrier opened, Nagare could feel, much more clearly than before as the forest's magic rushed inside the barrier, quickly overloading the rest of the crystals, which had exactly the same fate as the one in front of Nagare. Not only that, but with that surge of magic coming from the forest, Nagare felt it more than just a 'weird energy'. Maybe it was a result from her magic combining with the forest's to break the barrier, or maybe it was a sign that the forest had accepted her and Ditzy as allies, but she definitely felt a connection to the forest. She could feel the trees breathing magic around her and even their roots, entangling themselves into each other under the forest's soil. Even though that connection was still somewhat superficial, it was still an overwhelming amount of information for someone that wasn't accustomed to it as the Viera were. Despite that, Nagare somehow felt that she could further develop that connection if she trained, meditated and understood more about the forest and nature.

It was thanks to that connection and influx of information though that Nagare would realize a small spot on the soil that was completely 'devoid' of magic. Upon closer inspection, she would find a shard of the large black crystals that were used to maintain the barrier. Unlike the others, this one somehow was still working, despite having a lower potency compared to the whole crystal. Whether she would ignore it or maybe take it with her, it was a choice she would have to make, but after understanding how those crystals worked, it was clear that it could have it's uses for her or any strange situation regarding magic that she eventually faced.

Mikhail was silent, merely observing as Faeril got ready to enter Dareen's mind. Whatever it happened from that point forward it was not his problem anymore. Gennar and Denvar flanked her chair as she talked, getting ready for anything even though it was clear that Dareen wouldn't do anything herself. After being searched for weapons, Faeril started her work, silently looking through the girl's mind.

It took but a moment to Faeril withdrew from Dareen's mind and judging by the tone on her voice and her expression, she had found something, and it wasn't good. Apparently, even though Dareen seemed to be innocent, the mercenary company she was a part of wasn't that innocent. According to Faeril's words, they hunted Black Widows.

Surprisingly, Dareen didn't try to defend herself, instead offered simply a guilty look to Faeril as she tried to explain. Even though her points were valid, as she said she didn't have much choice but maybe become someone's housewife or going to the mines, Mikhail was rather skeptical whether such explanation would quench Faeril's anger. As Faeril demanded for answers, Dareen simply a defeated shrug. She didn't have any defense for what Faeril saw other than what she had said. Even though she was being used, she still did what she did. Her life now was on Faeril's hands. Unfortunately for her, Mikhail neither had the right to interfere nor he could interfere. He couldn't forgive her for her actions nor any kind of amnesty to her.

He could only watch in silence as Faeril gave her final decision.

Despite the three men's initial attitude towards the kitsune, she was fast to show them that she was no pushover as she threw a fireball at the leader. Even though the anger was clear in his face, the second he turned around to do something, he saw Nefersetekh standing behind the Kitsune. Luckily enough, the entire situation didn't escalate to something worse, neither did the authorities realize what was happening nor needed to intervene, which could become rather problematic for Nefersetekh, who was a nomad and did not have anything to identify himself.

With that situation dealt with, the petite girl turned to the kitsune with a silent, but adorable smile towards her. Judging by how the kitsune spoke to her and even invited her to her shop, they obviously knew each other,
When Nefersetekh was about to leave though, the petite girl turned to him, surprisingly, offering the same sweet smile she gave to the kitsune. To those who were paying close attention to Nefersetekh's face, despite his cold and serious expression, a very discreet smile could be seen as his eyes met the petite girl's. A moment later, the small girl held up a finger, telling both of them to wait as she scurried away, probably to fetch something. When she came back, she was holding two beautiful and surprisingly valuable stones with her. A Tourmaline and a Tiger's eye, which she gave to the Kitsune and to himself respectively.

Kneeling down near the girl, Nefersetekh accepted her gift with a small but respectful bow. In exchange, he raised his hand, reaching to one of the many golden hoops he used as earrings on his left ear. Despite his fierce and intimidating stature, Nefersetekh was surprisingly delicate and gentle as he reached to the girl's little hand, putting the earring he took off his ear right in the middle of it and closing it right afterwards in a sign for her to keep it. On touch, the girl would realize that the metal wasn't exactly gold. At least not entirely made of gold. It was rather warm to the touch and it was much lighter than gold. Due to it's size and how small the girl was, it could probably be used as a ring.

Standing up again, Nefersetekh noticed the Kitsune analyzing him with her eyes, obviously curious before she thanked for helping to solve the situation without using violence. As she introduced herself, Meifeng Fu also said she was the owner of a small occult shop and inviting him for some tea. As she continued explaining, she mentioned the small girl, who was called Echo and that she was mute, explaining why she was silent until now. Given the fact that Neferstekh himself had said nothing until now, it was obvious that he didn't mind that much the fact that the girl was mute.

"I merely did what needed to be done. No need to thank me." Nefersetekh spoke for the first time since he arrived in the town with a rather raspy, low and guttural tone, due to his race's unique physiology.

"I am Nefersetekh, a Seshem from the Erimos Desert, but you can call me only Setekh. It's a pleasure to meet you." Nefersetekh said, to both Echo and Meifeng Fu in an unexpectedly polite tone coming from someone with such a fierce appearance and stature.

"I would be grateful. The trip was long and I know next to nothing about this town." He said with a respectful bow, accepting Meifeng's offer for a cup of tea on her shop. Information about the city would also be welcome as he knew almost nothing about it.

Ashkevron Residence in Aren, Askavi - Front Parlor

Mikhail was indeed relieved when he hear Faeril's voice as she arrived in the front parlor, although he wasn't entirely clueless nor did he ignore how slow Faeril's movements were. Despite that, he still didn't trust Xandar, nor did he trusted the way how the Eyrien brothers reacted to the situation. Despite that, the way Faeril arrived wasn't exactly... discreet. Not it did any help in calming Dareen down.

Even though Mikhail wanted to say something to calm Dareen down, neither he was exactly good with those things nor he had anything particularly helpful to say. Due to that, he only kept quiet as he saw how pessimistic Dareen was about all that, almost as if she was certain she was going to die, going as far as to even ask for her to be buried according to her company's customs, which made Mikhail somewhat interested about.

Even though both Gennar and Denvar said that despite all those signs that Dareen was in fact innocent, they shouldn't lower their guards, Mikhail couldn't help but to be absolutely convinced she was innocent. There were just too many signs... She was showing her emotions too clearly, revealing things about her past without much care and above everything else, she was being incredibly honest.

Despite that, Mikhail was but a guest and he was offering his services to Faeril in trade for his treatment, so he had no right to say anything about how Faeril or her subordinates dealt with their problems.

"You don't need to fear anything if you have nothing to hide nor you feel guilty about your actions." Mikhail said, in a sad, failed attempt to calm Dareen down.

Ditzy Stoneclub

Ditzy's maneuver caught Nera by surprise, the frenzied Viera wasn't expecting him to tackle her head on. Unfortunately, even though he was stronger than the feral Nera, she was still more agile, being able to successfully dodge his first blow, but due to the speed she pounced towards him though, she didn't have enough time to get away from him in time, causing his headbutt to hit her straight in the stomach, knocking her back and giving Ditzy enough time to wrap his arms around her.

The second his arms wrapped around her though, it became evident to the frenzied Viera how strong that particular hobgoblin really was. Despite her attempts and trashing, his arms were firmly locked around her, holding Nera into a chokehold. Despite how strong and resilient a frenzied Viera's body was, Ditzy was much stronger than she was and even though she was in a frenzy, functioning only on basic instincts, she could feel his hands wrapped around her neck. Feeling the urgency of getting away from Ditzy's grasp as soon as possible, Nera twisted her body, planting her feet and talons into the ground, finding leverage and using her flexible body to throw an attack at whatever part of Ditzy she could hit despite being held by him.

Ditzy certainly saw what her sharp claws coupled with her strength and speed did with the soldiers' armors while ago. It was obvious that no matter how strong he was, it would be dangerous to get hit by them. With her claws quickly approaching Ditzy's body, he had to make a move right now or be forced to take a hit from her.

Ditzy's move wasn't for nothing though. Being hit by his headbutt and knowing that she couldn't compete with him regarding strength would make Nera less aggressive and be a bit more on the defensive and use her speed instead of pure brute force against him. If Ditzy played his cards right, he would be able to buy enough time for Nagare to finish his spell as Nera would focus all her attention on him. Besides that, Nera was already exhausted from fighting the soldiers from before and Ditzy's headbutt only further worsened the fadigue acumulating in her body. When he grabbed her, he could feel her respiration, her heartbeats and how exhausted both her muscles and body was.

❄️Nagare❄️

As Nagare attacked the barrier with everything she had, much to her dismay, her attack and the magic force was immediately absorbed by the barrier. After a second later though, Nagare would feel that that particular section of the barrier where she was shooting was starting to absorb less and less of her attack, starting to affect the barrier itself as small bits of her frost magic passing and creating holes on the barrier.

If she looked to the black crystal as she attacked, she would almost immediately realize how that barrier worked. In order to keep the forest magic out of said area, creating a 'void', a place completely devoid of the natural magic that bathed the forest, that magic needed to be absorbed by something, and those black, runed crystals were doing it. Even though the amount of magic the barrier could absorb as a whole was immense, each particular section had a defined limit and Nagare's attack, coupled with the natural magic of the forest was quickly making it reach that threshold. It wouldn't be instant, but if she continued to attack the barrier, she would be able to break the nearest crystal in a few moments.

Behind her, Nagare would be able to hear the sounds of Ditzy and Nera fighting. Much to her surprise, Ditzy managed to win on pure strength against the frenzied Viera, but Nagare knew he was still in danger, seeing how dangerous his opponent was.

Freyr

Being taken by surprise and struck violently by Nera with all her strength, further enhanced by her frenzied state, there wasn't much Freyr could do, almost immediately getting knocked unconscious. As his friends continued fighting though, he was slowly recovering himself. A few minutes after Nera's attack, he finally managed to barely wake up again. His state wasn't that good though. His vision was being partially blocked by the blood coming from a wound on his forehead, where Nera hit on the ground and due to the impact, he was still too dizzy to move properly. Despite that, he knew he had to help his friends, who had came here even though they had nothing to do with all that situation.

Forcing himself to get up and cleaning the blood from his eyes, Freyr saw exactly the moment when Nera, who was being held down by Ditzy, to swing her claws towards him.

"Stay away from her claws, Ditzy! Try to tire her down!" Freyr said, as he shaked his head, recovering himself from the blow.

In the other hand, Nagare's magic was successfully interfering with the barrier, as Freyr could already sense, even though very faintly, the forest's voice through the cracks made in the barrier. Ditzy would have to keep Nera under control for a bit longer by himself while Freyr recovered himself, but the second he did, he would go to help him.
