I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

There will definitely be large group activities in the future. For the prelude I kind of wanted to let everyone do their own thing so that I could get an idea for who was going to buddy up with who, what everyone's writing strengths/weaknesses were, how the characters actually behaved, etc.

Daily life sections in the RP are mostly going to be used to let everyone know I'm working on a murderer, likely with several other players. While I would like the characters to build bonds and reveal things about themselves, I realize that such actions can feel empty when all characters do is talk about things that happened before the rp started. The mastermind and their goons definitely have a few crazy things planned for everyone, some life threatening, some not. I'm also okay with the players trying to host their own events. But once Monokuma declares a motive, you can bet things will get ugly pretty quickly. I'll likely use a mix of both tactics. However, I think events like the nights of carnage will also give the RP a much needed change of pace. especially with some of the crazier things on higher floors.

@Vocab

Gunna take a quote directly from the OOC.

Q: How hard will the cases be to solve? What happens when we fail?

A:The goal is more to tell a story than create a forum version of the Danganronpa game. What made the games so interesting was that it was both a mystery game and a mystery book. You got to solve a case, but you also got surprised by big reveals presented by other characters. the lot of you will have to solve the mysteries, but I will give you a gentle push if you get stuck. In terms of difficulty, the mysteries will be much closer to DR1 than DR2. But if there's a huge call for harder cases, I can definitely up the ante. I'm a big mystery/logic fan that has quite a bit of experience.

Like in the games, comic, anime, etc, There isn't going to be a need to call a vote until you 100% know both who did it and how the entire murder was carried out. The secrecy is just to keep things fresh and engaging.

@ThatCharacter

I love to collaborate, everything is held together, reads nice, and it's usually more consistent than a bunch of separate posts. But you need to be careful who you collab with. An unannounced vacation can set everyone back. If you do collaborate in a group larger than two, I strongly suggest setting up some ground rules in the event that someone goes radio silent.

With that all said, I'm probably going to give everyone a bit more time to look around and such, then have a mini time skip to the afternoon where everyone shares their discoveries. After that... I guess we'll see.

Announcement time!

Alright, I wanted to do this a week or so ago when the first IC post was officially a month old. But it got pushed back by me losing track of time, and things looking a little too slow. But I get it now, this RP is like an indie car circuit with a traffic light in it. Stop, turbo, stop, turbo, stop, turbo...

So just a few things I wanted to go over with everyone just to keep them in the loop.

Firstly, Mason Brady is likely going to get written out of the RP. Katakon has had every opportunity to contact me, and it's evident they either aren't interested anymore or can't participate because of serious IRL stuff. Either way, they log in, they don't say anything, and then just disappear. Until I write them out, Mason Brady is officially becoming an NPC. I don't advise using them much unless you feel it's necessary, and if you do, try to keep them in character.

Next, I just wanted to say I'm really happy to see communication is getting better. Ariamis announcing which posters they're waiting on when things slow down is always appreciated, and more recently how the crew initiated OOC how to most effectively get Ice to a place where he could actually wake up. And Mateotis letting everyone know that they were going to be busy this week was also a plus. (that post was fine, btw!) Simple acts like this make my despair eroded heart glow like a hot ember. I hope we can keep this up.

Also, I've been thinking about class trials a little bit more. Originally I wanted everything to come out IC, but I'm starting to wonder if things would be less messy if I let people figure things out OOC and then let the IC posts reflect the discoveries made in the OOC instead. I'm suggesting this because I know some of you have made characters that aren't especially worldly, but you still might enjoy trying to figure out whodun it and howtheydun it. Just an idea I'm playing around with to discuss.

And that's really it. As always, if you need any direction or help, I'm just a PM or mention away. Everyone else has been willing to help me out too!
@AimeChambers With some creativity, Aleecia can go anywhere you want her to go.

As @addamas said, Aleecia may be blind, but she probably has keen enough hearing that she could find the piano. She does have a walking stick, which should enable her to walk around clear hallways and even up and down stairs without much fuss. Rika is also sort of familiar to Aleecia (I would think) so she might stop by ice's room if she hears Rika on her way towards the Piano. Aleecia might have decided she wants to follow Davis, and she could caboose Kara in an attempt to go through the hospital. There's also no clear time frame for exactly when Damyon left ice's room. Damyon is also familiar Aleecia, and she might decide to follow the poet to the study. (She'd know it was him because of his voice, maybe even the sound of his footsteps.) and who knows? Maybe if Aleecia gets lost, you'll see a friendlier side of the nurse staff.

I advise you join up with a group that has either A) an activity level you're comfortable with, or B) presents situations you feel Aleecia would make a good addition to. As a few examples, Davis just revealed some very sensitive information to Quill and is about to be judged by it. We also know he's going to regroup with Calvin, who doesn't really like Davis and is a bit on edge with the whole "forge" thing. There's a lot of drama surrounding the hospital area right now. Things are a bit cooler in the resort. Lots of information is being discovered in the study, and Felix even managed to find that "music room" he was looking for. Things here are less tense in nature. Rika is up to her usual antics, and I suspect the results will be quite humorous. And that's not to say that Aleecia can't wander into one of the unexplored rooms. It might be interesting to have a room first described from the perspective of a blind person. Someone may even show up to keep Aleecia company.

I think Aewin and melo are collabing, which is the only reason I didn't mention Cyrus And Krista anywhere. That's the only group I wouldn't recommend without shooting them a pm or mention first. Shaun and Caora are on the move, which is why I didn't recommend them anywhere. But you could potentially bump into them as well.

EDIT: Oh! and then there's Mary. I don't believe she's grouped with anyone right now.

Glave is kind of an uncommon weapon, but a halberd is essentially the same thing in the practical sense. It's basically an axe/spear with a long handle, which lets you use it like an axe, spear, or a staff.

Here's a sparing match between a halberd and a spear (a lot of the commenters say it's actually a glave):

you know what you could also do between lives?

BACK STAGE DRAMA! WWE STYLE!

Anyway, thinking about joining. Is now a good time? I haven't read much of the posts yet, but it looks like something is happening.

@addamas If you would like to discover a piano, that would be fine. Monokuma may even use it in the future!
I guess I'll have Aleecia talk to Mason in a bit then~

I'm sure you have good intentions, but I strongly advise against this. Katakon barely logs in at all anymore and has a reputation of making just a few posts in an RP before abandoning it. It pains me to say this, but you will be waiting a very long time for a response if you decide to have Aleecia talk to Mason.
An adventure in the ER. Always a joy, especially when you have Davis, Calvin and Ice all together in the same enclosed area.

We have Ice thinking that Calvin is a bit of a brat not as bad of an opinion as before and him thinking that Davis has all of his screws loose

I very much look folward to seeing that scene if it does happen. How @FantasyChic decides to have Quill react will have a pretty big impact on Davis's mood before he gets there. I kind of feel bad for Kara if she gets dragged into it too, haha!

<Snipped quote by Spriggs27>

Many people are just catching up to the events. With about 15 players (and even more characters) there is bound to be some muckery in the timeline, even if we all followed a strict post order.
It might get difficult to keep track of everything sometimes, which is why people prefer to form groups for their endeavours. There is of course Daimyon and co. (Krista, Felix and Rika; still tentative on who stayed behind for Ice if anyone), but another larger 'expedition' with Davis, Quill, Calvin, Kara and Ice is about to get underway as well. Shona and Mondatta are in the library/study, Cyrus is trying out the MonoMono machine, Mary is in the break room while Shaun and Caora are heading there. Aleecia and Mason are also in the break room, though they have been mostly quiet so far.

Also, if you read the posts, those mentioning her also make it clear that she leaves shortly after. So there's really nothing that's been done wrong. :D

Oh and @ThatCharacter, bonus points for creativity. Turning the crematorium into a makeshift forge? How cool is that!

Exactly. Just because I waited ten days to post doesn't mean Davis waited ten hours for a response. And good breakdown of where everyone is, my dude!

There we go. Damn that was overdue. Hope I tagged all the relevant people.

I was going to make an announcement, but I'll do it over the weekend.
