This sounds like so much fun. >;o May I join the Cool Kidz Club?

'Course, mang. So long as you don't bring the hoodies.
@Ostarion FYI, you have the sorcerer and the summoner HP and MP stats flipped. You need to change that so it makes sense. LOL

Relics of the past. And he's asleep.
Anyone know what's the difference between a Pharmacist and a Herbalist is?

Ostarion fell asleep in the Skype call. what do?

Pharmacists are like pills and potions made from anything (meat, flesh, scales, etc). They focus on buffs and bonuses. Herbalists are gathering it themselves and making it out of plants. They focus on healing, regeneration and status effect removal.

It's mostly weird logic errors that Log Horizon has.

@SilverDawn Wow, I can't believe I over looked the Personality. Thanks for accepting, but if you want I can edit it in. (On another note: wow this is active, already four pages!)

You don't need to. I don't mind that it's empty.

Editing this in because I don't want to post so frequently.

@Jangel13 Accepted.

If I accepted your character, feel free to put in the Character tab.
@SilverDawn

Ayyy Boss

I was just making a Fox Tail and I'm wondering a) what the ratio of class skills to non-class skills is (or if it's just random chance) and b) do we have to follow the OOC directly? For example, it says that Sorcerers are long-range artillery but I was gonna make a Sorcerer that gets up in people's grills!

The ratio is once every 20 levels, about. You could have a Fox Tail with some guardian skills, if you want to BM.

Sorcerers could totally be warriors. It'd be terrible, but it would work.

The OOC is much less a "defined rules" and more of a information, just in case.
Man, now I'm curious as to what that PM was.

Just critiques. I don't like critiquing in public forums. Makes me feel wrong.

GDI

He suddenly dropped from the call, so I think his house imploded unto him.

Anyways, application time (we already discussed most of it).

@Jangel13 See the PM.

@McFazzer I don't mind that you don't have the personality section (not in the original application, plus, they're hard to follow sometimes). Accepted.

@Ashifili Accepted. Nice.
Thank you for your responses (except Jangel :P but I already talk to you enough), I'll keep them in mind the next time I barge into someone's RP with similar questions. XD Sorry for giving the wrong impression, I tried to make my wording as unbiased as possible, but I may have come off too cold anyways.

A good tip is to fill it with as many dank maymays as possible. People can't get mad at you if you meme them hard enough ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
A more general question. Simply by watching the anime or reading the light novels or looking through the wiki, a whole bunch of problems presented by the Catastrophe already have solutions for them. Would Elder Tale EU have different solutions to said problems then (such as how to cook food with taste)? Or what.

They would have the same solutions (or different solutions, if the logic is soundproof), but the means would be different.
@SilverDawn It's essentially an entire website dedicated to Log Horizon RP, taking it to the level of a text-based MMO, and as far as I've browsed it seems very organized with character sheets and stat calculation (more for power gamers), multiple IC threads for "map" exploration, and as it's more established an increasingly developed lore. I'd just like to know what this thread can offer to the Log Horizon fandom RP that a dedicated website cannot. Not to discourage or put off your own dedication (and that OOC opener), but it seems a generic RP forum like the Guild is a bit inconsistent when it comes to users sticking with threads, and the work a GM puts in would have no return if interest is lost as soon as it's gained.

See, the thing about it, I don't mind if this RP dies off quickly. Sure, I'll be disheartened and saddened, but I never would think that my work would have no return. I had fun making the OOC with Ostarion. It was a great time slipping as many dank maymays into the OOC to make Scrub Mage upset, but I digress. I don't think that this thread will offer anything to the Log Horizon fandom. To be honest, I don't think that a lot of things will ever offer much to the Log Horizon fandom. Instead, I think that what we offer is fun while writing to the participants. We're making a story together. That story doesn't need to be bogged down by word-based levels (no offense to the creators of the Log Horizon RP site) and other mechanics that slow down the pace of the story.

What Ashifili said is a large part of it, too.

People get discouraged when they want to play in a story, but much of that story has already happened. They don't get to experience the emotional rollercoaster that not-knowing has. Sure, they get to enjoy a story, but they won't feel involved. It feels like a slog when you're a nobody. It seems like you have to force yourself into the story to get any action done, which doesn't feel nice. At least, that's my experience with RPs.

Website RPs do have a place, but so do forum RPs. I think that for more hardcore roleplayers who like mechanics, they will aggregate to more specialized websites. Forum RPs are more for the casual crowds who just want to make a story that they enjoy the background/theme of. I can't speak for anyone else, but that's what I am. I enjoy writing, but I don't enjoy a bunch of mechanics that slow down writing. I also don't like writing alone. That sounds really depressing, but that's what I think of it.
