Hmm, homonculus? I was planning the creation of homonculus to be one of the ultimate goals of alchemists.

There's more than one way to make a puppet move.

And there's a whole lotta stuff that's going to come up about this that I will not tell you both until it actually happens, but, rest assured, there will be differences.
One meat shield coming up. I'm not completely satisfied with the personality and history section, but I usually like to flesh things out in the RP rather than beforehand.

Looks good.

In other news, OOC coming some time in the next 24 hours
Would it be cool if I PMed the concept at we workshopped it from there?

Responses might be slow and i might vanish because schleep, but of course.
Would a player character necessarily have to be a ranked adventurer? I have a concept in mind for a character that is strong and experienced, but is more an agent of a church or similar organization than an adventurer's guild.

Characters don't necessarily have to be an adventurer, but it would be a lot harder on you if they weren't. Considering how all it takes to become an adventurer is walking into any guild hall, asking to be an adventurer, getting slightly stabbed, and $20, there's not much reason to not become an adventurer. Being a D-ranked (entry level) adventurer has practically no commitments besides telling them that you haven't died. In fact, you could still be an agent of a church and be an adventurer. A certain legend who secludes himself is a high ranking member of Sirris' government... But generally, unless you want to fund literally every mission that a party would go on, you would end up turning into a recurring character that pops up and out.

Of course, you can always start out as unlicensed and become an adventurer in the first chapter. But try not to do that. You'd be crimping my style if you did.

@Conscripts Its like you read my mind or something. I was going to make a very similar character, I was even going to call him Alexander! Oh well, that just means I can chart a course for a new direction. Uncanny though.

but what about punch mage
Here is my CS at last. @SilverDawn

It all looks fine to me. Move it to the- wait a minute.
How much physical prowess and technique must be sacrificed to justify magical powers? I ask because I want a martial artist specialist with a secondary emphasis on Divination based abilities (I.e. finding things with magic), though not with meta-gaming in mind. I just don't want to make an op character but I want to give him powers and abilities that would make sense for his personality.

Very little, surprisingly. Again, I would like to go with the Dark Souls analogy (because everyone who doesn't play video games needs to suffer). Things such as sorceries, especially the powerful ones, require a whole lotta intelligence to use. This, someone would need to be focused on magic for that. Miracles are the same thing. For better miracles, you need a lot of investment in faith. But, Pyromancy comes from the heart (rather, it comes from your hand being on fire), and as a result, requires very little intelligence or faith. Magic is how you make it. If you get the ability to divine from meditation, that's just your magic.

Now this is actually the type of RP I wished to play. Though I wonder who will we be travelling with. The other players of course, but aside from that, who else? Because I would like to play a rather brainy character, who is pretty much incapable of magic use, only wide array of knowledge and stuff. So in order to utilize the knowledge, I intend to have a few who is willing to do him things.

It will vary. Occasionally, there would be a rank-B to teach characters the ropes of adventuring, occasionally you would be hired as mercenaries alongside other (NPC) adventurers. Just remember - Crossbows require very little investment in the grand scheme of things. There was a character in a manga I read a while back (unsurprisingly, about adventuring guilds) who used raw intelligence to kill monsters. Like using rat poison on giant rats. Who knew that would work so well. Of course, with great intelligence comes knowledge of items and how monsters work...

@Conscripts I'll be playing an all brawn not as much brain type of character if you want a meat shield.

Name him Hunk.

In other news, I wrote up a bunch of background information and that's all edited in, so you can go nuts and read through my half-asleep ramblings.
Can I make my alchemist be a pupil of a hero rank alchemist and the reason she starts adventuring is to go look for her?

Of course. The question is, do you want to be the one who writes the backstory of the hero-rank or would you want me to do it to ensure maximum lore. Hindsight 50/50 no do word good just send me a snippit of things like their exploits and their fame so I can integrate into lore

And also, on the topic of having a Discord - it will come with the OOC.
I don't want to screw with your plans, so here's the pic I was thinking about using. If it's too fantasy for this RP, I've got a backup. Erza from Fairy Tail is pretty freaking close to this image.

Yea, that's fine.
I'm always up for a fantasy RP like this. Quick question though, do we have to use purely anime art? Cause the image I was planning on using for my character is more fantasy than anime.

I would prefer it if it was anime because I actually use the images for something and having drastically different art-styles causes huge sore-thumbs, but at the end of the day, images are just reference images so it doesn't matter. Unless that fantasy art is the generic 80's fantasy cover art drawn by Boris Vallejo.
