@Double Capybara Lifprasil, depending on how much Vestec influences, may take the Domain of the 'Id', or the furthest reaches of the mind, IE the deepest, darkest fears of the psyche. I just wanted to make sure you didn't think that was too close to extraordinary or dreams? Because if you got dibs you got dibs.

Some dreams will be scary nightmare yes, but this doesn't mean she controls fear, just like a dream where the person is crafting something cool doesn't mean she is now teknall. So, dreams don't take that.

On the extraordinary part, while the domain is vague I would be taking some very specific portfolios, spooks and alien are small slices of fear, but there are fears that are not even close extraordinary, fear of death and injury, fear of losing a loved one, those are daily fears, some essential for life itself. So no, fears aren't taken here either, because they are much bigger.

To sum it up, no clashes anywhere, don't worry.

@Double Capybara And I hope we'll keep seeing Ilunabar's musical themes in stuff like this. Is there any spiritual life native to Raka and feeding on/tampering with dreams, or not yet?

As for the domain switch/addition, I think it's entirely viable. You may want to keep building on the themes of desire, pleasure or escapism in there, since I feel like that's what you're going for with Ilunabar rather than undirected whim. Anyway, the only name suggestions I can think of are 'Fancy' and 'Reverie', which are both pretty much just positively-connotated synonyms of Fantasy, which is probably the best fit on a purely definitive level.

A) Oh yeah, you can expect a lot more musical terms coming from Ilunabar

B) Dream based life is a plan that will go on later. Impossible to not do it with Bakus (Japanese dream eating tapirs) and Fairies (Lured people in the dreamworld) and of course magical girls around

C) Escapism is a lot about what Ilunabar is about, and at the same time she is about Carpem Diem too. I think she is all about enjoying life and new things, be it with books and animu or by dancing and eating good food.

Extraordinary sounds like a decent domain. As for whether it is going to cause conflicts, I would rather see its development back to front: What kind of stuff are you intending to use it for, what would you like to do, how would it help you, and where won't it help you?

to use it for: first and foremost, to play with mortals, to bring new stuff to towns and when interacting with heroes I think oddity is always a good way to test them, specially because the Beauty domain will have her singing about them later.

what I would like to do: Shenanigans, Ilunabar bringing an odd festival to a town, haunting a place near a temple of a god, daring a hero to try to climb the highest mountain.

how it would help you: Novelty beyond Beauty, the thing is, right now Ilunabar is all about the pretty stuff, which she will always be about, however she often touches feelings that aren't defined by how pretty or elegant they are, a lot of times she touches wonder which is odd, intriguing or just simply amusing. I think Extraordinary/Fantastic gives her the tools to work that

how it would not help you: Ilunabar has always been out of sync, meanwhile her Beauty meant her opposite was boring/ugly, having this new domain will add "Ordinary" to her opposites, and that is big. I'm fully ready to take her even further away from creation, to put it in words, she makes great meals but she does not know how to harvest vegetables or hunt, while others will be shaping planets, Ilunabar will still be using might to create simple lakes and more often will simply resort to inspiring mortals and heroes or using her avatars when it comes to creating a thing from nothing.

@Muttonhawk I know its pretty close, but the words feel different. Fantastic is an adjetive which gives the quality of "impressive, otherworldly" while Fantasy is a noun that is deeply related to monsters and magiks nowadays.

Though this could be my ex-student of linguistic side talking and everyone else is thinking about D&D on both.

Hmm, maybe Fantastic? I could cut me out of from Festivals and Traveling but overall I would still have most of my trinkets.

Ok Friendos, if you have a minute, I need your opinion on a thing.

I presented my holy site and stuff to Kho, and eventually the conversation went down to "You are going to end up claiming the Dreams portfolio, but in what domain?"

At first we were going with Fantasy, but it doesn't work for me, it sounds so big and epic, and I want Ilunabar to be a goddess of "petty" things (in a god's standard) going around with her shenanigans but not on a Vestec way. I know sometimes she talks big, but the core of her personality is "talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk"

That is when I came with the idea of the domain "Extraordinary", the word is defined as "Strange and Wonderful" and "Out of the routine". It is the fantastic of "The mysterious invisible man!" instead of the fantastic of "Holy shit a dragon oh fuck". Not "Magic Swords" but "This CRAZY rings changes color according to your mood!"

Possible portfolios could be
Festivals: Special days which are different from any other
Bizarre: Oddity. Dogs meowing, Apple trees growing lemons and the Bearded woman.
Spooks: Sinister sounds, harmless scares. Scooby Doo-style terror.
Alien: Not the green things. The sense of otherworldly, different and logic defying.
Puzzles: Codified languages, secret meanings, not with the intent of hiding but to challenge.
Pride: What makes a person feel different from the others
Stunts: Jumping over gorges and stuff, daredevil actions.
Traveling: Meeting places outside of one's homeland.

And a bunch of other stuff. The core of this is Novelty beyond Beauty, but without being outright about breaking rules and defying the real reality, just, giving people a break from it.

But I know Extraordinary is a subjective and vague as hell word and I would understand if other players objected to it. So I decided to talk about this now, to see if anyone has any criticism or objections about this or my two creations of the dream world that are in the end of the post. I don't want to be trouble for this RP, haha.

Plane: Raka

Raka (The realm of dreams)

Description:
Dreams have existed ever since the Dreamweaver was crafted, after the birth of the universe, dreams it became a possible energy, like electricity or magic. But it was only after the creation of a plane for dreams, Raka, that they turned into a natural occurrence to all sentient beings.

To dream doesn’t mean being teleported into Raka, the person’s mind connects to the plane, sometimes just as an expectator feeling things, other times with a temporary body that might or might not be a copy of his own.

(Plot bait for Vulamera) Injury or death in a dream means little, however some mental trauma might happen. Another disease caused by dreams is called Ilunacy (wink wink) when a person is so connected to Raka that she starts to lose sense of what is real and what is not.

Appearance:

If one were to look into Raka the main feature of the plane would be the tourbillon of colors where dreams happen along with the few dreams that were intense enough to temporarily create floatings islands, globes, boxes and all sorts of weird things. Ultimately however it all dissolves in the storm of emotions spiraling up around the tower called Arpeggio.



The flow of dreams changes as it flows up. In the lower and most chaotic parts it is like a messy cloud of colors. In the middle, it starts to take a flow and its looks changes to one of an impressionist painting. Finally, in the upper areas it starts to crystallize.

The “final” destiny of the flow is the “roof”, a crust formed by the crystallized dreams. It is not a still thing however, the mass moves like living stone and slowly forms towers that try to “reach” the Arpeggio’s core.

Description:
At first Raka was a bit underwhelming, dreams flowed randomly and some conglomerated into crystals who would float aimlessly. While Ilunabar wanted dreams to be free from any laws except the ones it decides to set that didn’t mean that she couldn’t organize the dream realm itself and guarantee a better variety and quality of dreams.

She started to analyse dreams and noticed patterns, ultimately dividing those by consistency, closeness to reality and control over the dream, in a scale of 7 harmonics. Dotty, Reave, Mirage, Fantasy, Solitude, Labyrinth and Simulacrum. (My language uses Si instead of Ti for the last note)



There was a clear flow from the potential of the chaos to the stillness of the logic, so Ilunabar decided to use the flow. She created a tower which would work as the guide for the flow of dreams around so they would follow the scale.

Ultimately the energy would become so still that it would crystallize in a crust called “the roof”. The Arpeggio however pull them back, in a spiral that eventually will reach a “reactor”. The reactor condenses the energy and forces different rules to clash, eventually so many paradoxes are happening that the logic breaks into pure chaos, which flows inside the tower until it reaches the bottom and is released back to the flow. Ilunabar has jokingly called it “The Tounelic Effect”, but don’t tell it to anyone.

Appearance:

At the top one would see the odd moving towers spiraling out of the roof until it reached the reactor, formed by a spinning ring and a few crystals. From there on until the lower part we have a plain looking tower until the bottom, with a few rings of crystal across the way to help Ilunabar to collect data.



If one could look from far away at the flow of energy the Arpeggio creates they would see something like this.

@BBeast I don't know, I kinda want to use the Orpheus theme a bit (If its not clear, Ilunabar's pre-goddess story was a reference to Orpheus and Eurydice)

Furthermore I think no god would ever survive a dinner date with the over-dramatic muse, I mean, even Jvan is like "uhhh, yeah, I didn't get it, could you chill please?"
