timeline. top bar was originally text but i was running into issues with keeping it separated from the rest of the scrolling elements and it was also unable to touch the edge of the image. i edited the bar into the image itself. the main issue with any of these designs are the slightly obnoxious lines to the left and the fact that you cannot add more elements to the top or bottom of the image/table without increasing the length of those lines.

So. The main issue with this is sub tag behavior breaking line breaks. I'm having to use a very specific combination of sub and sup and header tags to put them back in which is creating really small text. Without this, all the text would end up on the same line. It's also still incredibly hard to read. Scroll to the right for more! ________________________________

Exit    Hunang had begun to move, switching her stance and raising her arms as she shifted her focus away from 141 and Katakuri to Zhen, but no sooner had she begun did she suddenly find herself frozen in place. Her eyes snapped to Nelu who was holding his open hand to her but was looking at Katakuri. ”You lit-” “Kata!” Nelu yelled out, ignoring her completely. ”If you do this, they’ll kill her! We can protect her! Put her in the program! Teach her how to-” ”I WILL NOT let her live my life!” Katakuri yelled back. Each word was a gout of fire that spilled from his lips and collected at his feet. He ignored the flames and continued limping toward Zhen. Fiber    The rock dust is thick in the air, and the particles are fine, speck like. They pool on her glove as she holds out a hand to point, gesturing towards Nelu. Her head is foggy from the impact and light from the lack of oxygen, and the implant her brain is draining the energy, the oxygen, and the chi inside her to run yet more calculations. Talking is taxing on her, but she musters enough to say “Jin…I have numbers.. can you..can you help?” Mistress Dizzy    Jin didn't look much better. Coated in blood and panting heavily now that the adrenaline of battle had waned. "Y - yeah. Whatcha got?" Fiber    “Square root of 1500 times X, over square root of Y. Y is somewhere between 1000 and 3000, X is between 30 and 1000. Keep trying, and as you find combos that get a number over 500, tell me.” Mistress Dizzy    After listening to Zhen’s request, Jin raised their eyebrows. Why, at a time like this? But the equation was already spinning in their mind. Numbers locked into place, and answers soon after. Jin plopped gracelessly on the ground, using the bloodied knife to scratch notation into the dirt, reading off solutions as they came. There were a lot. Too many. "Variable range is.. too wide y'know." God, their whole body hurt. "Make it smaller. Or tell me what's the plan…?" Fiber    “It’s close to triggering a thermoba-thermo-big explosion. Don’t want to die from it…need to know the right time, brain having trouble with all the numbers now. Nelu, you know the plan, just keep us safe when it’s time.” Exit    By now, the flame in Katakuri’s hand had lost nearly all of its color as the temperature continued to rise. So hot was this flame that his clothes began to burn away without even coming in contact, but Katakuri ignored this too. He did nothing to stop the fire licking at his skin. Nelu knew as well as the others what Katuri was planning to do. ”Make it quick!” Mistress Dizzy    Their ears were ringing. "Oh. We're still all gonna die. After all this, huh…?" Digging shamelessly in the front of the dress, Jin pulled out a little packet of something tiny and shining. "I snagged it from the market. S'made of plastic bits." It was multicolored glitter, beautiful fine particles of plastic. Flammable plastic. "Thought Nelu needed a bit of glitz for the club. Ha." Slowly, Jin crawled to Zhen on their stomach, and plopped the bag down. "This'll burn too. Make it easier…" And then they sat, starting to read off numbers again. Exit    ”The… Ffflying… Fffrog…” Hunang struggled to say, her eyes now fixed on Jin drawing in the dirt. Nelu immediately turned to give her his full attention. He moved his hand, twisting his open palm so his fingers were pointing down toward the ground and driving the blade of his hand in a quick downward motion. Hunang’s body responded immediately, buckling at the knees as the top half of her folded into itself and she collapsed on the ground. She grunted when her forehead slammed into the dirt. Despite the way her mouth was barely clear of the dirt her face was pressing into, she continued to speak. ”We….nnnneveer….fffforgot.” Mistress Dizzy    Jin didn't speak, continuing to read numbers. But their gaze swept up from their work, to lock firmly on Hunang. Sharp… and very curious. Exit    141 was clawing himself the rest of the way out of the pool of lava. Despite the massive amount of damage he had sustained, by some miracle he was still able to move and think. Boiling flesh was peeling off of exposed bone and muscle and pooling beneath him in a bubbling mass of goop. He dragged himself through it and ever closer to Hunang whose eyes snapped to him. She watched the once imposing, now withering man as he approached. Watched him struggle to claim every inch of dirt he pulled himself across. But there was no fear in her eyes, just a calm knowing. Suddenly, 141 stopped moving and slumped defeated to the ground, only a few feet short of the earthbender. Fire continued to lick across his back and char his exposed flesh and although he was down, he was not dead. His glowing silhouette swelled with every strained breath and the sound that escaped his lips was that of tumbling gravel. So this game is continuing from a previous state, although there will be some slight backtracking to introduce new players before the story is entirely resumed. There are two groups. TLA (The Last Avatar) and LSF, which stands for Lotus Security Force but is our shorthand for the group of players in the RP The Red Lotus.

The world of the Avatar as you once knew it has changed dramatically. 100 years ago, Republic City led a short but bloody campaign against the world to bring an end to the 'Bender Threat', overwhelming the other nations with the use of a frightening and powerful new technology. At war's end, Republic City was relocated to within the walls of Ba Sing Se and became The Republic. They shored up the walls they destroyed and shut out a land marred by generations of conflict. A land further scarred and warped by their hand. In the span of just a few years, The Republic became the last officially recognized stronghold on the planet and its sole super power. For a hundred years after, its citizens enjoyed a lasting peace, one that is all they have ever known. Strict regulation and a zero-tolerance policy against all Benders have seen to the near extinction of a once proud people. So removed have they become that many within the walls lead lives having never met one. The history itself has become muddled and what is widely accepted as the truth about Benders leaves a disposition that remains disagreeable bordering on cruel. As far as anyone is concerned, the world is far better off as in their absence life has flourish, major conflicts are nonexistent and the only dangers present are those that lurk far beyond the walls of the city. A few days ago however, this carefully constructed peace was shattered. An explosion in the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se set in motion a string of events that would change the world forever.

Interest Check. This roleplay is set in the world of Avatar as seen on the Nickelodeon television series and is set over 100 years after Avatar: The Legend of Korra. In the year 347 AG, a devastating war a century ago has left much of the world in ruins, Benders are extremely rare and there is currently no known Avatar. Ba Sing Se is effectively the last city on Earth. It is currently occupied by The Republic, formerly of Republic City. The wasteland beyond its walls is a mostly empty and dry landscape dotted with cities lying derelict and abandoned. It is roamed day and night by strange fauna. Our narrative is split and focuses on two different groups of individuals on opposite sides of a coin. The Last Avatar follows a group of Benders who have both new and those who have been living in hiding, who have escaped from Ba Sing Se to the safety of a settlement across the Si Wong Desert, Tu Zin. They must continue to cope with the drastic change in their life, grapple with their powers and find out what happened to the Avatar. The world of the Avatar as you once knew it has changed dramatically. 100 years ago, Republic City led a short but bloody campaign against the world to bring an end to the 'Bender Threat', overwhelming the other nations with the use of a frightening and powerful new technology. At war's end, Republic City was relocated to within the walls of Ba Sing Se and became The Republic. They shored up the walls they destroyed and shut out a land marred by generations of conflict. A land further scarred and warped by their hand. In the span of just a few years, The Republic became the last officially recognized stronghold on the planet and its sole super power. For a hundred years after, its citizens enjoyed a lasting peace, one that is all they have ever known. Strict regulation and a zero-tolerance policy against all Benders have seen to the near extinction of a once proud people. So removed have they become that many within the walls lead lives having never met one. The history itself has become muddled and what is widely accepted as the truth about Benders leaves a disposition that remains disagreeable bordering on cruel. As far as anyone is concerned, the world is far better off as in their absence life has flourish, major conflicts are nonexistent and the only dangers present are those that lurk far beyond the walls of the city. A few days ago however, this carefully constructed peace was shattered. An explosion in the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se set in motion a string of events that would change the world forever.

Those that look beyond the walls at the world left behind and imagine what might lay in wait to be rediscovered. Those who hear whispers in empty rooms or see lights dancing in the dark. Feel warmth on cold nights, courage in uncertainty or are gifted the kindness of a stranger. Like the memory of some long forgotten dream, they know another world once existed full of life and color. Of many people from many nations in harmony with one another. This is a mature take on the world of the Avatar (the Nickelodeon series) set roughly a century and a half after the events of The Legend of Korra. Mature themes will be explored including murder and death, abuse, drug use and physiological trauma. In-world technology has progressed to our near future. There is widespread AI robotics, wearable technology, prosthetic and biological enhancements and even flying Satomobiles. Our narrative is split and focuses on two different groups of individuals on opposite sides of a coin. This means two active threads that run in tandem (all players hangout and communicate through a single shared Discord). I've listed the two groups below and provided some detail about each and where they currently are in the story, but note that the information provided here is limited. Further details will be discussed with interested parties. Also note that while 'The Last Avatar' group is open to general interest with no restrictions on element selection, 'The Red Lotus' is looking to fill an Earthbender and Firebender role. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The central event that kickstarted the entire roleplay began at a synergy storage facility located in the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se. This facility, the primary power source for nearly all of the city, suffered a catastrophic accident; an explosion that not only decimated the immediate area but also had unseen, adverse effects across all of The Republic. In The Last Avatar, this explosion activated in some the ability to bend the elements, while those who already could bend and were living in hiding, found it difficult to control their abilities. In the ensuing chaos, many attempted to flee the city in fear for their lives, but over the course of an intense few days, only our central characters arrived safely in the desert settlement of Tu Zin. Since their arrival, many spent the following week grappling with their new reality and for some, their new powers, while others continued to struggle to accept themselves. Meanwhile, the leader of Tu Zin, Unye, who is also an Earthbender himself, has requested their help in investigating a string of disappearances in and around the settlement. This is our main group and what is essentially the protagonists of our story. All Benders in this group began with their bending knowledge and practice severely limited, thanks in no small part to the Republic's thorough scrubbing of all bending culture from within the city. There would have been no easy access to bending teachers or materials. Their understanding of bending since their escape has only marginally improved and anyone looking to join this group will have abilities that are similarly constrained. Single blasts of fire. Small bursts of air. A simple rock throw or short streams of water. This of course also means that there will be no sub-bending skills at the start ie. blood or metalbending. All interested player's characters will begin their journey as part of a second wave of Benders who have recently escaped Ba Sing Se and have safely arrived in Tu Zin. In The Red Lotus, the explosion activates a secret branch of The Republic Security Force (RSF) known as the Lotus Security Force (LSF). To quell the chaos and subdue a massive threat to The Republic's peace, a handful of agents of the LSF are tasked with chasing down and eliminating any Benders that are attempting to escape the city. This initial mission is mostly a success with only a handful of Benders escaping into the desert where it is assumed the desert elements themselves will finish them off. Since then, these agents have remained active and continue their investigation of Bender threats both within the city as well as within their own organization. Currently, they are attempting to apprehend two particularly dangerous individuals, one of which was one of their own. This group is considered the main antagonists in the story and act as foils to those in The Last Avatar. Of course, it is understandable that not everyone can and not everyone is comfortable writing a villain. As such, it is important that I stress the atypical nature of the roles in this group and ensure interested parties understand what is expected should they be interested in joining. As explained to those who have taken on this challenge, The Red Lotus is less a power fantasy and more an important plot device. We are a tool used to tell a more fulfilling story and exist to challenge the main group and ultimately lose. However, that does not mean the journey to that end cannot be a compelling one. The lives of LSF agents are complicated and tragic and shrouded in mystery, leaving a lot of room for creative storytelling. On a positive note, all Benders in this group are allowed the full range of their bending prowess, including a single sub-bending skill. Players interested in this group will need to discuss with me where they would like to start their character as there is a lot of flexibility in the narrative here.
