In SoL, the 'goals' become the drama and interpersonal connections/histories players make with each other. Plus setting in in places like a school/college for example give you a timeline to work with.

About
Been at this game for a good while now. Starting RPing at the tender age of 15 back when Bebo was a thing. A year later I found myself forum Roleplaying and haven't really looked back since. Over these past ten years I have done practically every kind of RP you could imagine from Nation RPs and Arena RPs to 1x1s and Large group RPs. My last RP hobby was fighting RPs, which I have now decided to leave behind in order to pursue more SoL style Rps.

Outside of RP I am an aspiring writer, despite being terrible with words, as well as an avid gamer. If I am not on discord with the Guild or RPing in some way, I am probably on either my PlayStation or on Steam. Moved into D&D and ended up starting a podcast that has been an interesting journey.

Ok, one more question, and I'll leave you alone...for now.

When it comes to Guild or DS, how would they go about recruiting? Is it based on someone's personality? Their magical gift? Just trying to get a feel for the two factions as I write out my chars bio.

And I know that was like three questions in one, but...meh :)


The Guild is a large world wide organisation, they recruit from recommendations and applicants. Most people apply between the ages of 16-19. It is one place that most people go to, some families dedicate their entire lineage to serving the Guild.

The Dark shadows are much smaller and recuirt on a more, who you know not what you know basis, as they are trying to remain hidden from The Guild.

I assume the diff between members & recruits is really how long they've been part of the faction, yeah? Like recruits being days old, etc?


Yeah, there is a little bit of difference in power, but given time they will level out. Ranks are usually based on power and loyalty

Love this genre, and interested in making an illusionist-type character. Mostly glamour and parlor tricks, but depending on the mark, can deceive even the sharpest mind.

The choice of character is entirely upto you. We are starting in a completely new time line with this one, with a different plot as well.

If you want to bring back Alirra then by all means do. And if you want to create an extra character then go ahead, it is just nice to have your talent on board. We will be doing far less collabs this time as well so it is easier for everyone.
