The tap and unfamiliar voice caught Nia's attention, the girl blinking in confusion. Oh, right, Serena did mention that a reporter would be coming around. But she didn't think she was going to get approached, but she supposed that the guild's more excitable members were either occupied or had already taken off on other jobs. Her eyes flickered from Claire's face to the lacrima, and she realized that she was just a little nervous. She'd rather not have any pictures taken, but she didn't see any photo-taking lacrima on her. Well, if it was just an interview, it should be alright. She'd have to decline any pictures if asked and answer a question.
"Indeed, I am," Nia replied cheerfully before catching Arcturus' announcment. She tried to keep herself composed, though a tiny sigh escaping her. Putting two fingers to her lips, she let out a shrill whistle, waving Arc over before turning back to Claire. She gave her an exasperated smile, nodding. "Never a dull day here, I can assure you."
Lyveva jumped in place when the door opened, apparently more than ready to rumble when J'torha stepped out. She visibly relaxed and let out a sigh of relief before straightening up. His comment confused her slightly, but she shook her head and waved his comment away. "No, no, I just thought--I was a little concerned is all! This sort of crowd has a penchant for problems!"" She quickly stated.
At Kajin's explanation, she lit up. "Ah, did you get it? Really?" She asked excitedly, practically bouncing in place. "Then, mission accomplished, right? Right! We did it! Yes!" She jumped in place, a rather triumphant smirk as she uttered, "And she thought I would fail, ha!"
After clearing her throat, she clasped her hands together. "We should get going back to the house, then! I can introduce you guys to the other members, and we can settle in, and--oh, it's probably best we inform everyone as well, right?" She caught herself. "At the very least, you all deserve a respite from the heat, and lunch, and a bath, and--oh, you all have my eternal gratitude, really!"
The two children looked at one another, then at Byssu, entirely confused expressions on their faces. Nikulas scratched his head, unsure of what to say, but he eventually decided saying something was better than not saying anything at all.
As he opened his mouth, however, he was interrupted by Suki'a. "You know there's only one pool in the ward, right?" He blurted out, pointing in the direction. "The Brimming Heart is at the center, it's this hub surrounded by a lot of fountains and water that people swim in. Basically, it's one big pool."
"No need to be rude," Nikulas muttered, displeased at the interruption, although he sighed. "Maybe it's easier if we go looking for him instead, he won't run off if we approach him."
"Absolutely not," Suki vetoed the idea immediately, seemingly exasperated. After adjusting Rika on her hip once more, she looked at Byssu. "Maybe it's best if we go ourselves and look, we're clearly losing time here. Hopefully he hasn't run into any trouble."
Staring at the job board intently, Nia's eyes roamed the few jobs that lingered. The most interesting job had been snatched up right away, and the group had long departed. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't worried, but so long as they stuck together and followed Klaus' lead, things would likely be alright. Her worry did fuel her indecision somewhat, part of her wishing she had some way of knowing how things went, another part of her subtly trying to figure out how much she still needed to make rent this month.
She could probably skirt by the month with a small amount just under budget, but there were a few things she wanted to get for her little home that required more jewels than usual. At least, that was what she told herself; her apartment was minimalist at the moment, and she tried to convince herself that she didn't need more chairs for the seating area or a nice painting to hang on the empty wall, but she couldn't help herself.
After letting out a wistful sigh, she squeezed her eyes shut and randomly snatched a page off the board. Opening her eyes, she squinted at the lucky job--one Thoronia Whitecliff was requesting aid in finding her missing son. Oh, no, this was terrible and sad and--goodness, she felt herself tearing up already. There weren't very many details on the bill, instead asking for wizards to help her out. She frowned at the page, wondering what could have happened.
An older male relative that didn't approve? They really were brothers! He kept up his enthusiasm, only dropping his head slightly as Enma ran ahead to catch up to Ria. It was more of a sobering thought if he was being completely honest, but Kiku wasn't about to get all mopey in public. He'd rather get slapped by Ria a million times than have anyone accuse him of being some kind of emo-kid or whatever. Besides, he didn't need anyone's approval. All he needed was to support his new team and kick butt.
Psyching himself up, Kiku caught up with the pair as Ria laid down a plan. He nodded, invigorated by the idea of their first team fight. He liked training with his big sister, but there were one or two times he managed to get one over on her. Sarutobi-sensei couldn't be too much different, right? Even if she was, he was sure they'd do something.
Kiku peered at Matsuoka, scratching his chin. If they managed to get her still enough for him to use his jutsu, that would be a win. He grinned as she yelled at them, throwing back his head and letting out a laugh. "Bring it on!" He yelled back, laughing maniacally.
Cool beans, Flower Boy accepted the invitation. The vague idea of the mage owing him crossed his mind, but honestly, he just wanted to get the hell out of there. The kid looked like he was going to yell or cry or some other shit, which fine, whatever, Eris would just retire to his room and let the kid weep into one of the couch pillows. They could work out a thanks or deal or payback tomorrow, all Eris wanted to do was run a hot bath and then sleep off the mindfuck that had just happened. He wasn't a huge fan of being played and would much rather just forget the entire night happened.
Of course, where he expected maybe a smartass remark or a roll of the eyes from Wells, instead the kid exploded. He didn't know the guy could talk so much, lashing out at the two of them. Whatever patience Eris had clung to seemed to run out by the time Max finished, though he didn't miss the metallic shaking. Anastasia have mercy, he couldn't believe the kid lost his composure. Now he had to look after two children. Dragging along the mage with a thumb in his mouth and now dealing with this little tantrum lost its appeal fast, Eris seemingly searching the ceiling for a few seconds as he deliberated how to handle this.
When he finally looked back down at Max, he decided to be as upfront as possible. "Good thing this isn't about what you want," He snapped. "Get your shit together, we're going back to the dorm and you can cry in the shower or mope in your bedroom, you don't even have to look at anyone else for the rest of the night so fucking relax."
He wasn't going to give either one of them the chance to protest, his cape billowing behind him as he strode to the door. "Invite whoever you want so long as they're gone by the time tomorrow comes. Let's go, now," He barked at the pair.
How Eris managed to forget that rule was beyond him, the blonde's amusement somewhere in the negatives. He should have noticed sooner, but considering until their slip up the phony princess played her part just as Ryner would, it was safe to say he had fallen for it hook, line, and sinker. Illusionary magic, he really should have recognized it sooner than he did, but for some reason thought the princess above such measures. No, more like they weren't worth the time--why waste her time with 'suspects' when she had somewhere else to be? Princess Ryner was aware of the on-goings and was either with the task-force pursuing the real murderer or was doing as Nox was and clearing the perimeter.
Either way, it was a sore loss.
Moving his hand, he took off his mask for a moment, brushing his hair away from his face. That chill was something else, and he couldn't say he was entirely fond of it. Still, he was a business man through and through, and even if the little favor wasn't his to claim anymore, there was still work to be done. Without explaining himself, he snatched up the inkwell on the desk and opened it up, taking a moment to dip the quill in and pulling on the opened notepad that had been neatly placed on the desk. The quill skated across the page effortlessly, the message formed in record time. He folded the paper in half, repeating the writing briefly, and once he put everything back where it was, he left the note front and center on the desk.
Highness,
I have taken the liberty of contacting my team. Your people will hear from them shortly--they are at your disposal. Please feel free to contact me if there are any concerns.
Yours Truly, Eris Samael
Now that that was taken care of, Eris was more than ready to call it a night. He was pretty sure he didn't need to ask Alderman if he was ready to do the same, but there was a tiny hitch he nearly forgot about when he looked up and saw Flower Boy. Right, the thing was probably quivering in his shoes over being tricked by magic again. Well, he wasn't alone at least.
Placing his mask over his face again, Eris leveled a look on Salem. "Well, then, we won't be inconveniencing any more princesses tonight, I'd rather not run into either of them right now. We're leaving," He stated.
As much as he wanted to leave, though, he couldn't quite abandon Flower Boy. He couldn't say it was out of compassion, maybe having another mage around just in case was good enough to ward off the chills, but leaving him there didn't sit well with him for some reason. "Are you coming or are you staying?" He asked, his voice a little lower. "I don't think heading to the noble dorms right now is a good idea. If you don't want to stay here alone, you can come to my dorm." Maxie would enjoy the new company, at least, and if he couldn't quirk up the courage to go anywhere, he could always crash on the couch or something.
The deal was sealed, much to Eris' delight. Antigone would be able to pass on the message sooner than later, and of course the thought of having the princess in his pocket--shallow as it was--was the cherry on top. He grinned at Ryner, eyes traveling down out of habit, though her hand looked off. Or it sounded off? How the hell did that work? He must have been more stressed than he thought, the sound of her tapping the table seemingly out of sync, like a mismatched audio clip in a film. Maybe she didn't actually hit the desk? The entire thing was oddly bizarre, making him feel like he was having an out of body experience. No, he needed to relax, he wasn't going crazy.
He couldn't quite relax just yet, though, the princess' response to catching what Max had said making him suppress a groan. The kid was subtle, but it looked like he would need to work on that a little more. Funny, since he thought that it was just unnoticeable enough, but she must have been super attentive. Eris almost rolled his eyes at Ryner comforting Salem, shifting slightly in his seat. For once he was more disappointed in the mage than scoffing at the princess deigning to stoop down to hold the crybaby's hand. If he couldn't keep his head in a situation like this, then life as an Astorio mage was going to be very difficult for him. Maybe she felt bad for putting him in that position. Guilt always did weird things to people, but either way, Flower Boy couldn't even pretend to hold himself together.
As the thought crossed his mind, Eris' eyes widened. Flower Boy hadn't uttered a peep, how did she know what he was worried about? It was obvious, sure, but...he hadn't said anything. At all. Not a word, he was sitting there stressing and sweating. Could he have missed him talking? No, they're right next to each other! Eris inched away slightly from the princess, clearly unsettled.
"Your Highness, is there an enchantment or--what is happening?" He asked, seemingly disturbed. "It feels like something is going on here."
Sitting in a chair next to @Scribe of Thoth and @Trainerblue192 wondering if he's high or drunk or something with this BULLSHIT.
Poised, graceful, and with one hell of a resting bitch face, at first Nia comes off as a quiet girl. So long as she keeps her mouth closed, she can be mistaken for a cold if somewhat distant person. The truth is the complete opposite; her cheerful and bubbly way of thinking often dominating everything she says the second she starts talking. She has no issues offering her opinion on a matter, and is generally open minded, making her easy to talk to and she can talk to just about anyone. She has a rather positive deposition, an optimistic view on nearly everything, and likes to look for the silver linings in even the worst situations. She will never let you down, even the idea of disappointing someone makes her always put in her total effort. As a result she is quick to help out those in need. Still, she puts a lot of pressure on herself even if she is told to take it easy.
Polite and usually keeping a calm head, she comes off as more of a caretaker than a wizard. Despite her warm and gentle nature, however, she seems to avoid opening up to people even though she likes it when people confide in her. Her tendency to keep people at a distance is somewhat contradictory, often confusing people, and she has a lot of trouble expressing her emotions properly. Should she be crossed, she keeps her gentle demeanor, though becomes exceedingly passive aggressive. Her observational skills are astute and she weaponizes it when she's angry or annoyed, taking a delight in honing in on people's weaknesses, addressing them with a misleading smile.
Appearance
Standing at a height of 5"8', Nia is a lovely girl with fair skin and long, pink hair. Her big, baby blue eyes are her most noticeable feature, her heart shaped face giving her a rather innocent look. She has a fairly slim body type with a few curves, a modest bust and hips, and willowy legs. She tends to move gracefully and often has a gentle expression. Her clothing leans towards elegant, preferring clothing that flows with her.

Born to Governor Uranis and his wife Raine, Ourania was raised in a sheltered environment. Aside from questionable parenting choices, there wasn't much excitement in her life until she finally received her mother's blessing to start making contracts with Celestial Spirits. She naively assumed that she would get to spend the better part of her life studying the spirits and practicing magic, only to be given a rude wakeup call in the form of an arranged marriage. The fire of rebellion was sparked afterwards, and with keys and a few belongings in hand, Nia left her home in search of adventure.
It was easier said than done, with her mother often using her father's influence to send out a bill to multiple guilds to return her. It happened about three times until Nia finally wised up to it, devising up a better-thought out plan of escape. To ensure her success, she played along while doing a little research on where to go. She decided she would get as far away as she could, out of any of her family's reach, and settled on White Harbor as her destination.
There was a minor hitch in her plan, but she delayed it until the last possible minute, fleeing the estate and jumping on a ship. After arriving, she realized just how harsh the area was and made her first priority finding some sort of employment. While at the tavern, she overheard a pair complaining about the current guild. As far as she was aware, she hadn't heard of any guild in the area, and realized it was the perfect place to work and hide among the other wizards. She arrived at the guild hall still wearing her wedding dress, asking to be let in.

{ Celestial Spirit Magic } Nia is a Celestial Wizard whose magic comes in the form of using Celestial Spirit Gate Keys. Celestial Spirit Gate Keys are magical keys that can be used to summon Celestial Spirits, powerful beings from another dimension. Her specialization is utilizing the Star Dress spell, a Celestial Spirit Magic Spell in which the user incorporates the power of a Celestial Spirit into their body. The power manifests itself in the form of a wardrobe change in the form of an outfit centered around the Spirit in question's own wardrobe. By adopting the powers and appearance of the Spirit they choose, the user also adopts a portion of their powers, being able to make use of their magic.
[ Gate of the Water Bearer: Aquarius ] ♒︎ Summons the water bearer, Aquarius. The spirit's temperament and outright refusal to follow orders often results in the two bickering whenever she is summoned. She has mastered the Star Dress Form associated, gaining the powers of the celestial spirit. Aquarius' domain is Water Magic, granting her the ability to manipulate the element.
[ Gate of the Maiden: Virgo ] ♍︎ Summons the maiden, Virgo. A stiff spirit, despite obeying any orders to a tee, she often insists on being punished immediately afterwards, much to Nia's dismay and discomfort. She has mastered the Star Dress Form associated, gaining the powers of the celestial spirit. Virgo's doman is Earth Magic, granting her the ability to manipulate the element.
[ Gate of the Charioteer: Auriga ] Summons a chariot pulled by a horse named Auriga.
[ Gate of the Shield : Scutum ] Summons a grand shield whose size can increase depending on the user's power.
[ Gate of the Mirror: Meissa ] Summons a a celestial being named Meissa that has a pair of mirrors that enable communication between them.
[ Gate of the Glass: Telescopium ] Summons a spyglass used to see over far distances.
[ Gate of the Lyre: Lyra ] Summons a lyre player whose voice and music are considered otherworldly.
[ Gate of the Furnace: Fornax] Summons a small furnace that emits warmth around the area. Leaves everyone feeling nice and toasty.
[ Gate of Canis Minor: Nikola] Summons a small dog. Friendly and cute, he makes for a good companion.

She occasionally lets slip details about her past, but outright refuses to talk about it even when caught. Contrary to the image above, her usual outfit is more weather appropriate. The Clavis family was once hailed as a pioneer in magical item production, though it has been a long time since they had contributed to any recent discoveries. They have left their mark on Celestial Key creations, a majority of Bronze and Silver key designs credited to them. She apparently has a contract with another Celestial Spirit, but left the key behind when she left her home.
Did he call it or did he call it? Eris leaned back in his seat, rubbing his temples lightly. Getting tortured was a bad look and getting tortured by Nox was certain to leave a mark, physically and psychologically speaking. He had a bad feeling the warrior princess wouldn't be too happy to know Ryner was intentionally sheltering them. For a pair that supposedly hadn't seen one another in some time, the fact that they were in such close proximity spoke volumes. Either they were pettier than most or they just let people think they were apart for whatever reason. He wouldn't question it, he wasn't exactly the poster boy for having an ideal relationship with his own sister, either.
Instead, he focused more on the princess' agreement, feigning hurt slightly at the comparison. "Being in the good grace of a bewitching woman such as Your Highness alone is a treat in and of itself," He teased lightly, throwing her a wink. That said, the two had too much to gain and a lot to lose from the fallout, and having a favor in his pocket wasn't any small thing to scoff at. He'd have to make sure he used the chance wisely.
He perched his chin on his hand as he looked over at the Spellman, his anxiety rolling off of him in waves. Talk about not being able to hold it together. The kid could at least pretend he was alright, but instead he just looked like a kicked puppy. Well, if he was trying to gain some sympathy, maybe the princess could toss some pity his way. Eris tried not to roll his eyes as he reached over and pat the guy's shoulder, motioning from him to get his shit together.
The knock on the door threw the entire room into tension, however, and Eris wouldn't have cared if it wasn't for the tension in Ryner's smile. Lovely, more problems to come. At least Alderman seemed to be on the same thought level, much to Eris' relief. "Throw as many sharp things to the throat as possible," He muttered a response as he straightened up considerably. His hand-to-hand wasn't as rusty as it used to be thanks to the arena, but he wasn't too keen on practicing it in such a small space. And of course, it'd look bad if he ended up losing his mage inexplicably. "Otherwise, just stay behind me and keep your distance." As long as they kept their shit together, they would be fine. Probably.
