Personality: Cockoo for for Cocoa Puffs is the simplest way to describe the personality of Cynthia but she is hardly that simple. While the woman may be the classic text book definition of a homicidal maniac she is anything but. She is twisted yes but all her ways have reason hidden in the maddness and if she kills outside of an assignment or a job it is for very personal reasons and is either to protect those she holds dear or for revenge of a fallen comrade.

She is tough, hard to understand and rather bitchy on the day to day but when she needs to be she is very charming, a quick wit and very funny. Usually though the madder she gets the funnier she gets; which has gotten more than one person knocked on their ass because they couldn't help laugh while she was berating them. In the end though she is actually a caring person who will do anything to keep her team together and alive.

History

Why The Expendables Recruited You: Nepotism mostly; Cynthia is the eldest daughter of Barney Ross's older brother. The fact she is former CIA and is skilled doesn't hurt. The fact she is as mental as the entire original team combined doesn't help. He recruited her to start up a new chapter of the Expendables out on the North West Coast. She was with the original team for five years after her release from Julia Tutwiler Prison in Alabama. After which she relocated to Seattle to start her own team.

History Before Before The Expendables: Cynthia grew up in Salisbury Maryland, daughter to Benjamin and Dorthy Ross; niece to Barney Ross. Life for her growing up with rather boring and she kept her nose in a book most of time. The fact that most of the books she read was on the most brutal of histories, the way nations played each other and their people and even the Diary of Jack The Ripper was something that never sat well with her parents. She did not see her uncle growing up much but she would hound him for stories when he was around and her eyes would glass over as he told her. Something was never right with the child.

She wanted his life, the excitement and was naive at the time; thinking it was all guts and glory. Her parents and Barney did not want that life for her but Barney knew the look in her eyes so he suggested university first, for her to become a language specialist. Hoping that she would end up spending her days in D.C. translating boring bullshit for the rest of her days and never actually have to see or be involved in any fighting.

That didn't happen; her professor for Farsi was retired CIA and ended up recruiting her for his former employer. She excelled in hand to hand combat and infiltration during training; this coupled with her extensive knowledge and execution of foreign languages made her a choice candidate for over seas under cover work. By the time she was 24 she was leading teams into the worst situations and bringing back what her government required.

That was until she was 27 and their mission to Chili. Her handler ended up being a double agent and her entire team paid the price. Cynthia lost what little of her mental faculties that she had left and went on the hunt. Seeking out each person involved with the death of her death and executing St. Valentines Day Massacre. There as no man hunt for her, she simply returned to D.C. and turned herself in afterwards. Had images of the massacre not leaked to the press she probably would have continued on in her career but once they did the CIA had to make an example of her.

She plead guilty to 35 accounts of 1st degree murder, with her lawyer tacking on that she was legally insane. She was sentenced to five life sentences with no chance of parole and shipped off to a maximum security prison in Alabama. Those years she refers to as the worst in her existence; life there being much more of a horror story than anything she ever saw in the field.

But the press is fickle and soon the cameras were turned to other stories and she was soon forgotten; all the better in her book. It took years but eventually enough strings were pulled, until they nearly broke, and she was released; the parole board stating she was fully recovered and no longer a threat to herself or society. Yeah, fucking right. Less than a week later she returned and took out the Warden of the Psych Ward. The man had tormented her for years, as well as other women. The state not wanting any bad publicity to come out because of his murder covered it up and Cynthia walked away free.

History Since Since Joining The Expendables: It was after she walked away Scott free for yet another murder that Barney finally grabbed his niece and brought him to work for him. The team did not know what to think about her, she knew how to do the job but she was always a head case, even before everything. Now she was a walking encyclopedia of mental diagnosis, most of which they had no name for.

Barney knew she could be trouble but being the uncle she idolized as a child seemed to be a helping factor. She was able to be in the job she was meant for in her mind and he was able to smooth her out enough to actually function in society when not on mission. The fact that the work they did was just the type of thing that got her locked up in the first place didn't hurt. Several years under her uncles wing paid off and it wasn't long before she was off to Seattle to form her own team.

Barney set her up with an expense account for her team and she began recruiting. It took a good five years to find a core group but finding people with the right skill that are just stable enough to get the job done but crazy enough to take the job are hard to come by. Over the last ten years they have been the secondary team that goes to work with the primary team is tied up or on vacation. Now a days though they work taking on the harder jobs. The primary team is the face but they are getting older, even for an Expendable. Cynthia is the next generation and her team is top notch.

Over the last year they have begun to recruit younger members. While the team might seem unkillable, everyone dies eventually and you want to pass down what you know to the next generation before it is too late. What she is looking for these days are people that the government doesn't want because they are too unstable or think too much outside of the box. Governments never want to deal with headcases that know how to work explosives. For Cynthia, that is the perfect type of person she needs. Some might be young and dumb but some of the older members are pretty stupid, so it works out.

Most Memorable Kill: Killing the psych ward Warden with with a hypodermic filled with foam from a coffee house latte after her release; she pushed the plunger down and injected his carotid artery. The man was never without one and she felt it was symbolic. He always said his blood type was caffeinated. The air in the foam caused an air embolism.
Most Memorable Injury: The 2 inch wide scar that runs over her mid section; refuses to say anything about the injury other than it was acquired during her time in a mental ward.
How You Got Your Code Name: Most will attribute Cynthia's code name to the fact she was born on Valentine's Day but it is more of a historical reference than the actual reason why. Back in the 90's Cynthia, along with her then current group was on mission down in Chili. Information leaked and they were ambushed. All but Cynthia were killed. Instead of going back she tracked down the leak, a double agent, as well as those involved and lined them up in a garage, subsequently massacring them in the same manner of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. She has been branded Code Name Valentine ever since.

Premise

Life is hard, it is harder when you get older. Doesn't seem to matter which profession you may have chosen in life, eventually you hear those immortal words; "It's a young persons game." Then you are out the door and wondering what to do with your life. That is hard enough if you are in the world of business or medicine; it is even harder when you were trained to kill. What in the hell are you supposed to put on your resume?

I mean if you aren't applying for a position as a local NRA weapons cache gaurd, you don't have a lot of options left in the civilian section. It isn't like you can go up to the local Wal-Mart and become a greeter. I mean, seriously, can you imagine the reaction if you were to walk into the door and were greeted with this?

Yeah, unless you have a few screws loose you would probably turn around and walk away as quickly as possible; grabbing your child's hand, telling them not to stare at the strange man, and praying he keeps downing whatever firewater he has in that flask instead of turning his attention towards you.

Only real option is to keep doing what you have always done; and done very well! You need to kill people; not that you like killing, okay maybe you do a little, but you aren't just going out and killing some ass that cut you off in traffic. You are actually going after bad people; really bad people. You need to blow shit up; because most problems can be solved with the proper use of C4. You need to be behind the wheels of 5 tons of hard core steal and titanium, barreling balls to the wall right into the center of hostile territory and popping out the top like a damn stripper out of a birthday cake; unleashing your wrath at anyone and anything in your path.

So grab your guns, your knives, your explosives. Pack up your MRE's and lucky charms. Ready yourself and climb aboard. You are who they call when they need a job done but want it off the books. The ones when they think they have no other options left. Sure you are older, your joints hurt, you're checking the status of your 401k and AARP keeps sending you mail but damn it, you still function! You might be expendable in their books but you ain't going down without a fight because when the shit hits the fan the most dangerous person out in the battlefield is the one with nothing left to loose. That my friend, is you.

  What To Expect From Your GM

  Greetings and salutations, I figured it was prudent to let you know a little about your GM and what you can expect. I have been at this RP business a long time, decades. So I have a pretty well worked out way of how I run things and what I expect in an RP. I am a bit picky but that only comes from years of dealing with many different things when it comes to RP.
  
  First, you should know that I am serious about Rp even though it is a hobby. I don't put up with B.S., trolls, flakers, and so forth. I will kick someone from an Rp if need be but it is a rare thing. (Twice now in all my time as a Gm.)
  
  Secondly, I do expect the rules I put forth to be followed - all of them. I expect a certain level, a high level, of respect and courtesy to be shown to myself and to your other Rpers at all times. If you wonder what that is, read my Guide To Rp Etiquette - which you should have by now since it is part of my rules.
  
  Thirdly, my biggest pet peeve has always been and will always be those that do not follow posting rules set forth in RP. To not to do so is to be disrespectful to me and your fellow Rpers. I enforce posting rules more strictly than any other rules. To break those is a great sin and you shall be punished.
  
  Next, while all of these rules may seem a bit much and I may come off as a hardass, I am actually a very laid back person and am willing to work with Rpers on most anything. As long as the lines of communication remain open and honest, I will bend over backwards for my Rpers when I Gm.
  
  I do check posting habits and log ins. When you join an Rp of mine I add you to my friends list. This will show me the last time you logged in, even if you are set to hidden. So if you lie about logging in or being gone, I will know.
  
  I am a firm believer of if you have time to spam and lurk you have time to post. It is all about managing your time wisely. Though most here on the forum are younger, I treat all Rpers as adults; with that comes personal responsibility. If you join you will be held to the same standards I hold my self to. I will refuse to let people join an Rp of mine that have given me issues in the past.
  
  If you are new to Rp or still learning, I am more than happy to help you to become a better Rper. That includes things on teaching how to prep posts before it is your turn to post, how to do colabs, how to create and stick to your characters, how to improve posts, how to find inspiration, how to get a post done when it needs to even if you have no inspiration and so forth.
  
  I like to get to know my rpers. What do you do, what your schedules are like, who you are. It helps me better understand my Rpers and how to better help them along the way and/or make their Rping experience more enjoyable.

@Universorum Cool, list what you feel is best and if you want, go ahead and list the rest - it may be a lot but it looks like the group will be breaking off a lot of the time for this and that - since they don't all have the same interests - may give people some ideas on what to have their pair or trio to do when out and about. I say chose a couple of larger group activities and we can try to arrange them throughout the trip to bring everyone together for a bit and then let them break off again.
