"If you kill a man, you scorn his wife. If you kill his wife, you scorn her child. If you kill her child, you scorn his village. If you kill his village, you scorn the kingdom. If you kill the kingdom you scorn an empire. If you kill an empire, then who is left?"

If I'm forgetting people, let me know. I'm trying to find out how many people would be interested in joining up.
@Doc Doctor
Technically, but in this setting you'd have some sort of grudge or motivation against the opponent. Rather than simply being a violent sociopath with a long history of violence.
@Starfall
Slightly inspired by Runeterra's almost patchwork reality. Though less summoners trying to regulate the world and more bored higher beings that want to watch superbeings beat eachtother to a bloody mess.
The long and short of what I have so far, is that an incredibly powerful cosmic agency. Whether a group or individual is not disclosed, summons every great warrior throughout time and space.

Living or dead, born or unborn.

To a world that is similar to Battleworld from Marvel's Secret Wars.

These warriors number in the millions, and created a society on this planet that is constantly changing and growing. New continents rise and fall, though some stay eternal.

A patchwork world where warriors live, thrive, die, and are reborn countless times. Grudges are held and given up, revenge and forgiveness.

It's a world created by powerful beings for powerful beings, to give them a place where they belong. Rather than among the lesser beings of the Multiverse.

The world would kind of look like this, except it would always be growing. I'd have to explain how the gravity doesn't change, but I've got a few ideas.

It's definitely a work in progress, but I've got ten or twelve hours left before I sleep.
Anyway, I've noticed this discussion has popped up, vanished, and popped up again. I was kinda hoping I'd be doing this about August, but I figure I should do it as soon as possible before we lose more members.

I'm going to be hosting a new Multiverse, not based on the Nexus of Worlds.

Kind of like a new start.

New setting, new story, all that jazz.

I was going to hold off on starting for a while so I'd be more prepared, but since the topic is going now I figure I'd put in my two cents.
Well, on the topic of an actual setting where players can sit and chat without actually fighting. Or even set up fights in character before the fight actually begins, that was a thread earlier.

It was the HQ Ranked Lobby.

It got started, but it never actually went anywhere. If you'd like, I could host a new one so we could get the whole personality and story thing going.
He can't be serious.

I think he is, it's surprising how many of these beefy types jump to violence at the first slight.

You can't take him, he's way stronger than you. Just look at him!

Just because he's muscular doesn't make him stronger. Superficial muscular structures are what modern people seek anyway.

Fair point, but that's not superficial.

Your point is fair too.

It was yet another one of those days, you know the ones. The ones where you accidentally piss off the wrong person and have to find out the hard way whether or not you can kick their ass. The scientist stood about nine feet away from the musclebound warrior, his face seeming almost totally vacant of emotion. Not as though they simply aren't there, as in LeeRoy's own face. But as though he were unable to express them, lacking the cognitive faculties required to show emotion.

It was unsettling.

LeeRoy's gait was set rather large, though not of his own volition. Keeping his legs close together would make it uncomfortable for the jangly bits that dangle between his thighs in this suit. His shoulders squared and fists raised to about chin level, held forward in a near boxer's guard. Though not proper guard, LeeRoy relied more on his intuition than his own martial skill. "You should settle down, I'd hope we both know what happens when a Roman gets into a tussle with someone else."
@Doc Doctor
ACtually yeah, pretty spot on.
@Doc Doctor
Batman minus the daddy issues, minus the martial arts training, minus the costume, minus the business, minus the emotional wreckage, minus the sidekick, minus the morality thing.

Minus a lot of what actually makes Batman Batman.

Oh also minus the debilitating retardation required to let Joker live.
