As consolation for the other point, if anyone's just totally miserable with their epithet selection and can't think of anything to make of them, I'll probably allow a reroll. Still, taking a weak word and making it good is part of what epithets are all about!

If any of you want me to generate your selection, just give me the word. Heck, I'll even generate some for any potentially interested but not committed onlookers, just on the chance inspiration strikes.

I lack the time to commit to this but I have been keeping an eye on things here.

A thought that came to mind for me was to use the opening of a resort or high-rise restaurant as the event. This kind of event attracts both new and old money as well as powerful people from both sides of the law. Furthermore, the general public and media are almost always invited to such events to bolster the reputation and further business success of the operation.

A good idea! If there are too many people around things could get too complex and high-key to keep things focused on the stories of the PCs. Too many moving parts and variables. But I'll add the restaurant one to the candidates. Thanks!

Well, that depends on how the RP overall is gonna work out. IF you want to do it like I said, would be best to figure out some arc to connect things with, and then try to introduce some of it at the start.

My idea, if you want to steal it: a big swanky casino-type place, full of criminals, all there to talk crime stuff.

I do have overall plans and connections in mind already. The things I suggested fit into that. I would prefer not to do a scenario that limits the sort of people who could reasonably be involved.

It seems like most of the players agree with me in that randomized epithet selections would be the preferred course of action. @Rockin Strings, would this compromise your interest in this rp?

We can continue to deliberate, but the first question that should be answered is: what will our scenario be? Personally I really like the idea of people converging on the venue of an event still in the set-up phase, like a concert happening in a couple hours or a movie set prior to filming. Those just passing by and those around as hopeful fans trying to meet their celebrities cross paths with thieves, security, and even assassins. The floor is open to suggestions, though.

You don't even need an epithet to do speed. Just get good enough at speedrunning to apply those principles IRL.

I'm not sure if I want to get randomed an epithet or go with the Mundie idea I have.

I may allow up to 2 characters so that people can experience different sides of the story, so both could be an option.

@Lugubrious Not sure what format you have in mind, but personally I think it should be done in a sort of arc/chapter way: larger story, different scenarios and settings and characters every so often, to keep the creativity high and to churn out more fun and weird Epithets to use.

That was basically the plan, actually.

I'm open to the idea on randomized ephitets. Probably use a random word generator, and give the player a choice between 3 or 5.
