So the man's name was Simon... it was a name that toed a common line, for everyone that Jules had met so far was either named John or William or Simon. But this Simon was different. He actually seemed like a decent person, one that wouldn't mind spending some time with her-- and one that she had the chance of getting to know. If she got him drunk enough, perhaps he'd let some of his strategies slip, or maybe he would fall asleep and thus fall behind in the race. She tossed what seemed like a genuine smile at him as they walked to the parlor, nodding her head with delight. "You can call me Jules," she told him with a chime in her voice.

The two had finally reached the parlor. What seemed strange was that the door had been completely knocked off its hinges. She guessed that it was because of a bar fight or some drunk that had torn right through it. And the aura of the saloon was dense, heavy... as a more than familiar face began to approach them. The other rider seemed even taller and more menacing than before, making Jules bristle only slightly. He definitely recognized her. There's no way he couldn't have. And with the way he spoke? Her mind was telling her that she should bolt in order to avoid either getting arrested or being drawn into a fight. She already lost twenty places. There was no way that she could get in any more trouble.

But the tall, dark man had his attention trained on Simon instead of her. Jules glanced between them, noticing that the taller one had an air of intent. Damn, even with him being so close, she still couldn't get a good read on him. "Now, now," Jules chirped with a nervous laugh as she worked her way between them. Looking between them again, a broad smile was plastered on her lips as she attempted to intervene. "Boys, there's no need to fight. We should be drinking as friends, instead!" she suddenly threw her arms around both of them, her gaze falling on the stranger's as her grin grew just a little more tense. "Friends, right?"

God, there she went leaping without thinking again.
