Current "Doing your best" does not mean working yourself to the point of a mental breakdown. Its no longer your best at that point.

the bad thing about being bullied is that every time it happens it steals a little piece of who you are if it happens enough little by little you become a little less of who you were meant to be.

Penny nodded, studying Jasmine a moment or two, ”Its okay to be afraid, Jasmine.” she said softly, ”Its when you let that fear control you, that’s when it becomes a problem. I have lived in fear, most of my life before I found my magic was lived in fear” she seemed to trail off a moment, frowning slightly. Curse him. Why had he put those thoughts in her head? She wasn’t afraid. Not for herself, at least. For those around her. Killing Solias… it had show her just how deadly she could be. She wasn’t afraid… going to that island would be a mistake, she knew it. She certainly didn’t like doubting herself. Everything she had done… it still stuck with her and she didn’t know how to deal with it, even now. The thought of going to that island… it wasn’t something she believed she was capable off.

She could be more help here, dealing with the flying fish, then on the island where she’d be a risk to everyone around her. At least here she was of some use to the guild. She sighed softly, ”Jasmine… you are here and that’s a big step. And I’ll be by your side, every step of the way, okay? You won’t be alone.” She gave the girl a reassuring smile, before nodding in the direction that they needed to go. ”Come on.” she said, offering her hand to the girl, before she started off in the direction she had seen the flying fish.

It didn’t take long to find them, a short walk out of the town. She could see them from a far distance, flying specks that dotted the horizon. ”See? just there” She said, pointing them out.

”This is food that can eat you, Rajah! Gods, they’re almost as big as you!” Ignatius said, turning to his pack and rustling through it. ”It isn’t edible! The skin is too tough and chances are they’ll take a bite out of you, as well!”. He took out some food from his pack, turning to her. ”Now here, eat.” she said, handing it off to her, deciding not to worry about how little they had left. She just ate so much, for such a little thing… but he always found food for them, in the end.

Frowning slightly, he looked around, ”Quiet… people approach.” he said softly, his gaze moving towards the two figures coming towards them. He doubted that Rajah would listen to him, and so he reached out towards her, to take ahold of her arm.

Sasha looked over as Amaya approached, with Cecilla. She hesitated at the question. ”I’m not sure that that will be a good idea. I think we ought to stick together… I don’t like the feel of the place.” she said, ”It’s not about security… someone with Fairy Tail blood needs to be on the island first.” she said, glancing around, frowning slightly. ”I want to make sure everyone is safe, first.”

Sam gladly took the floor, clutching it gently to her chest. She seemed to intently stare at the new comer, keeping her stance by Rose and looking up at the man. Tilting her head, she said softly ”hello”

Expecting the embrace and nuzzle, Michael endured both, seeming to hesitate a moment before returning the hug. "Y-yes... It's b-b-been a while s-since we've t-t-talked. I m-miss s-s-seeing him everyday." Michael said softly, looking up at Prince, sure that he was blushing enough to put a tomato to shame.

Jarvis shook his head, moving over to Amelia as she came up on deck. ”No… We’ve just gone as far as we can on the ship. The destruction on the island is bad- and the Captain doesn’t want to risk hitting anything under the water.” Jarvis explained, studying her a moment as if trying to figure out if she was okay or not. ”How are you feeling?” he asked, concerned.

Sam watched Ryu with a rather serious expression as if trying to figure out how he was doing what he was doing. She did giggle as he made the flowers appear, leaning closer and turning her gaze around his hands, as if looking for the trick. ”Magic? Or trick?” she asked curiously, reaching out for one of the flowers before she hesitated, looking up at Ryu. ”Can I?” She turned at the sound of a new voice, hesitating before she squared her shoulders, bringing her little frame up to its full height, trying to go for an intimidating sight, but that just failed and looked adorable.

She marched over to Rose, reaching out to take her hand and giving the younger girl a smile, ”Its okay… we’re together.’

Waiting patiently as Jasmine made her decision, Penny kept her senses heightened, in case the flying, deadly fish would appear. It seemed likely that it would happen at any moment… she wouldn’t be taken by surprise. Patient as Jasmine went through the options, Penny tried not to let her thoughts drift into areas she didn’t want to think on then. Finally Jasmine seemed to came to a decision, which Penny was glad off. Penny nodded at her words, but she was sure they would have to result to killing the fish to get rid of them. ”We can try to solve this peacefully, yes.” she said, giving Jasmine what she hoped was a reassuring smile.

Falling silent, Penny frowned. Finding the fish could take a while… and she didn’t even know how to begin. It could take forever, if they just searched… Where were the fish coming from? Looking about, Penny crossed her arms over her chest. ”Give me a moment.” She said, and took to the skies. She rose high in the air, not worried about Jasmine. The girl was made from stronger stuff than even Jasmine herself knew. Scanning the area beneath her, she looked over the town, and around. Narrowing her eyes slightly she lingered on small moving flecks, and deciding that they might as well start there, she dropped back down to Jasmine.

”This way.”

Chuckling at Rajah's behaviour, Ignatius watched her, the small exceed was nothing less than fiesty. He wouldn't want to be on her bad side… It was best to just keep her fed and happy. Otherwise… he didn’t let himself think on what might happen. As she grabbed one of the fish, he raised a brow watching her toy with it, amused. As she tried to eat it, Igantius watched with horror for a moment before he leaped into action, ”Rajah!” he cried, wondering how he had gotten into this position of looking after her.

”I told you i’d get you food! Don’t be eating something that could eat you too!” He said, reaching for the flying fish.

Michael tugged on Gabriel's shirt, starting off towards where he saw Prince was, the tall catman easily recognisable by said height. It almost felt like he hadn't seen Prince in a long time, but he knew that that was foolish thinking. Approaching Prince, glancing about him to see what was going on, Michael up at Prince, "H-hey."

I apologise, I'll get my cS done shortly!
I apologise, this week was hard. I had two tests this week, but I'll get a CS done tomorrow ^.^
I feel like I am mildly obsessed with this. May I put interest in, and work a character out?
May I join? Or try to?
I am interested in this too.

Ignatius frowned as he examined the flying fish in his hand. It wriggled and snapped at whatever it could, quite clearly trying to take a bite out of his flesh. ”I don’t think we should try to eat these.” he said, reaching for the rock he had gathered earlier and tried to hit the flying fish over the head. He was somewhat disappointed- the other flying fish had been lovely to eat, these… he feared it might be eat or be eaten with them and he really didn’t want them in his belly.

He knocked the fish out as best he could- it still flopped feebly as if denying him even that chance of success at defeating it. Disgusted, he dropped the fish to the ground, turning towards his companion.

Studying Jasmine, Penny frowned. Something had happened to the girl, although how that was possible when she had been asleep against her… Dreams were nothing strange to Penny, but this seemed to be one impressive epiphany. She looked for any sign that Jasmine would be unable to do this, meeting the younger girls eyes before she nodded approvingly. She couldn’t doubt Jasmine- not without the girl doubting herself immensely.

As Jasmine spoke, she thought on her words. She watched Jasmine more than a little worriedly, even knowing the girl was steady. She didn’t want her to get hurt- if Penny could prevent any injury than she’d go home happy. While Penny didn’t follow everything Jasmine said, it was clear that a lot had happened in the girls life to lead her here. ”At least you have answers now.” Penny said softly.

"As for the doctor... we can check on her, but I think we need to do some checking around on th is fish while they aren't attacking. See if we can find their lair." She said, her gaze drifting around the town, ”And make sure that everyone stays inside. If you would like to stay Jaz, you can.” She wouldn’t force the girl to follow her- she wanted Jasmine to do what she wished to, and if she was more comfortable healing and defending, then that was okay.

Sasha had made her way to the front of the ship and looking out over the waves she watched as the island drew slowly closer. It was clear that something was going on on the island. As they drew closer, the magic that was all around them seemed to grow thicker, until Sasha was sure it should be visible, and yet it wasn’t. Smoke filled the air and every now and then, she was sure she could feel tremors running through the ship, causing the waves to rock. A feeling of uneasy settled in her stomach, and absent she lay a hand on her belly. As arms came around her, she turned toward in Lazarus’s arms, looking up at him before she rested against his chest laying her other hand over his heart.

”It’s going to be a rough battle.” she said softly, her voice full of emotion she’d rather not display- at least where everyone else was. ”We might not all come back from this.”

Lazarus gave her a smile- one that even now could set her heart racing- “I thought we’d already decided to have hope. As long as you and the baby are okay, that’s all that matters to me.”

Sasha sighed softly, bowing her head slightly and closing her eyes taking a few moments to simply gather her strength, her courage before nodding and turning to look back to the island, which was closer than it had been. Drawing a deep breath, she stepped back from Lazarus and to the railing once more. Laying her hands on it, she continued to watch the island draw closer until the crew was getting ready to dock. There was nowhere viable to do so, although the crew sought to get as close as possible it proved dangerous as rocks protruded from the water, jagged and broken. The island clearly wasn’t doing well, scarred and damaged from what she could see and it made her heart ache.

“You’ll have to use the ships boats from here.” The Captain said, looking over at the mages gathered on his deck.
Are you still accepting people? I mean... there's so many people but this just looks so awesome. I'd love to join- I even have a character in mind who I'd just need to adapt for this.

Penny

Location: On the road to Shirotsume Town-> Shirotsume Town
interacting with: Jasmine @Lunarlord34, Lurdes Arriola (NPC, Shirotsume Town Vet)

Penny didn’t know what she could say or do that would help jasmine. She didn’t know the right words, or even the right thing to do. Had her mother ever comforted her, at all, after the man who had beat the shit out of both of them, the man that her adoptive mother had let beat her? Penny couldn’t ever recall. When her adoptive father had died… Penny suspected that her adoptive mother had perished with him, had merely been a walking shell of a woman. She tried to think how she had been, before… but she had been too young. She remembered being happy, with her adoptive parents, and then… misery. She gave a soft sigh to herself, her arms around Jasmine still.

Perhaps she didn’t need to actively comfort her. Perhaps being there was enough, keeping her safe. Or as safe as she could. Jasmien was asking her to believe in her… and Penny did. The girl might not be the strongest, but she had a good heart. As her sobbing became mere sniffles, Penny closed her eyes in relief. Jasmine was pulling herself together, and that was a good thing. Yet Penny knew that it was going to be a rough ride… She hoped she could make it easier for her.

"I do. You're stronger than you think you are, Jaz," At her further question, Penny hesitated. She didn’t really have the answer, not for that at least. She sighed softly, hesitating before saying, ”I don’t know how it works, Jasmine. It… sometimes I think it’s just when you’re ready that it unlocks. I was Sixteen when I first started using Phoenix Magic. And that was after I learned Fire Magic. But… I was in a bad position, before it burst out of me when I most needed it.” She gave Jasmine a gentle squeeze, ”I don’t have the answers as to why now, Jasmine… I wish I did. I worked hard to learn fire magic… Phoenix it just came to me. Perhaps because of my training in Fire.”

As Jasmine continued speaking, Penny shook her head, ”No, no! It isn’t your fault what happened to them, Jasmine. It isn’t. You can’t blame yourself for what happened. You didn’t know you could do this, and you wouldn’t have been able to then… It isn’t your fault, and I won’t have you believing that.” She said, her voice soft but strong- to make sure that Jasmine would never have a doubt that it wasn’t her fault. As the younger girl fell asleep, Penny fell silent, closing her own eyes once more.

She’d do everything she could for Jasmine. She just hoped that she didn’t end up screwing her up. She let her thoughts flow, trying not to focus on anything. The ride was quiet, peaceful but to Penny, right then, it was filled with worry, dread and fear. Her mind, and heart, inevitably went towards how she had left, her breath leaving her in a shaky sigh.

She shouldn’t have left the way she had… She’d let her anger get control of her… But she wasn’t scared… She just didn’t want to hurt people. Going to the island… getting herself mixed up with Dragon’s, with so much other stuff… that chance…

No. She wasn’t scared. She was bloody terrified. Terrified of her magic, of the way it had changed, of just about every aspect of it. She could kill with a few beats of song. What if she accidently used a wrong spell? She closed her eyes tighter, to stop the tears that wanted to fall.

She failed to stop them, and reached up to brush the tears away, trying to be quiet, not wanting to wake Jasmine. The girl needed sleep. And that was something Penny could give her.

As Shirotsume Town came into view, forests began to appear, the road became smoother as they neared civilisation, and there were signs of people living there. A farm or two, some animals- cows and horses- splattering the land, some workers could be seen amongst them. Penny shifted, not yet waking Jasmine, as she got a look at the land around them. It looked normal, and happy on the surface, and Penny would have been content with that, but she noticed things that weren’t quite right.

The fences she could see bore damage- marks and scars on the wood, and what looked like blood. There were scars in the earth, and she could see that the workers were moving frantically about, as if terrified. She frowned, studying them. Were the Hane-Sakana that deadly? Letting her thoughts linger on that, and just how they were going to deal with this problem, she watched as the town drew closer. Here there were other signs of the damage done by these flying fishes, more damage to the buildings she could see, blood staining the streets, windows, doors, signs. And injured people. People with bandages on their arms, legs, hands, faces. Bloodied, and hurting, and Penny suspected that under those bandages, there would be severe damage. Perhaps even missing fingers.

She would do whatever she could to help, Penny knew that, with all her heart. She couldn’t let this destruction, suffering, go on any longer than was necessary. As the cart drew to a stop in the town centre, Penny gently reached out to shake Jasmine away, ”We are here, Jaz. Time to show them just what Phoenix Wing Mages are made off.” She gave her a smile, ”I know you will be okay. I’ll be with you, every step of the way.” As the driver came around, Penny opened the door, reaching into a hidden pocket to take out some jewel’s, paying for the trip before getting out.

Waiting for Jasmine, she glanced around trying to find any sign of the Animal clinic. The vet was their client, and she wanted to get this job started as quickly as possible. She looked to Jasmine to make sure the girl as okay, but didn’t get to say anything else as someone came barrelling towards them. The man appeared to be late thirties, early forties. His Dark brown, nearly black hair was patchy- but it didn’t look like he was going bald. Perhaps he was simply pulling his hair out- perhaps in frustration or fear. His beard, closely shaven to his face that did appear to usually be neatly cared for, was a little unruly.

He had a healing cut along one cheek, a bandage over his right arm- she could see it peeking through his lab coat, that was splattered with blood, torn in places. He appeared to be very disheveled, and frantic.
”Phoenix Wing Mages, Phoenix Wing Mages!” His voice sounded fearful, frantic and a little crazy like. Penny shifted in front of Jasmine, not quite sure of this man.

”Yes, that’s us. I’m Penny and this is Jasmine. We’re here for the flying fishes… are you Lurdes Arriola?” she asked, keeping her voice calm, suspecting that if she let anything else into her voice, this man would fly off the handle. He seemed one crisis away from a mental breakdown and that wouldn’t do anyone any good.

”Yes, yes! You have to help, you have to do something! I’m running out of supplies, the doctor’s running out of supplies and now she’s out of commission, the flying bastards tried to slash her throat! I’ve never seen anything like this, in all my life! Please, do something!”

”We will, do not fear. For now, it would be best if everyone stays inside, keep doors and windows locked, animals inside. We will deal with these creatures, have no fear.” She assured the man. He seemed skeptical, but Penny made sure he knew she wouldn’t budge, and while he hesitated, he went back the way he had come. Watching him retreat until she was sure he wasn’t coming back, she let out a slow breath. ”That is a man on the edge of doing something drastic.” She said with a soft sigh, turning back to Jasmine. ”So we should get started. Are you okay?”

Michael

Location: Ship towards Tenuro Island
interacting with: Zev @Hatakekuro and Gabriel

Michael, mortified, gave a small nod. Gabriel had never really explained why he had Leo, the Spirit that really didn’t act like one, nor had he ever explained to Michael why he couldn’t close the gate. Perhaps it was simply that they hadn’t spent much time together, in months. Since they’d joined their guilds… he missed his brother immensely, these last months had been hard without him. Before, they hadn’t spent more than a few days apart in their entire lives. ”Y-yes-. T-This is my b-b-brother. Gabriel.” he said softly to Zev, as Gabriel tried, and failed, to get Leo away.

The spirit merely threw his arm around his brother and pulled him close, chuckling at Gabriel’s attempts to break free. ”Yes, and this is my rather annoying spirit who seems to think he is my guardian”

”Well, I mean, I am.” Leo said with a roaring laugh, reaching up to rub Gabriel’s hair, much to the boys embarrassment

”I… uh… “ Michael started, trailing off, not sure what he could say.
