Physical Details
Elerlia sits approximately at 1.6 meters (around 5’6” relatively) and has the lean, athletic build that one expects from an Asari who spends most of her days and nights in combat situations. Her skin is purple-ish blue, a sort of indigo blend. She consistently uses markings, or rather facepaint across her eyes generally in the same hue as the makeup used upon her lips. Her attire reflects the fashions of Illium, Omega, and other notable places–both backwater and not backwater–to represent her unique sense of identity. The most peculiar item upon her lays across her neck, a sort of amulet-like keepsake.

Personal History
Elerlia T'natis was born on Trategos, a cold, unforgiving planet within the Nimbus Cluster. Suffice to say, her childhood was as harsh as the isolated, frozen almost-wasteland she saw as her homeworld.

Combat Analysis
Born on one of the harshest colonies in Asari space, Elerlia became who she had to be out of necessity and spite. When the Asari left the frozen planet in her search for purpose and independence she sought out places that were far removed from what she knew. As the years turned to decades she garnered a bit of a reputation as a hired gun, attaching herself to wherever she could find trouble.

Reason for Vacating Previous Situation
Shifting careers from “crazy Asari bitch” to “corporate wetworks agent” seemed like a no brainer for Elerlia when she received the offer from ExoGeni executives. The Asari mercenary’s last job was in…

At the helm of the SSV Surrender is Jazmine “Jaz” Wilkes, a talented pilot whose assignment on the Harpocrates Initiative is due to a heaping amount of debt from a career gambling addiction. As long as the muscle gets the job done she’ll make sure they’ll land safely.

At the engines is the wry and oddly humored Kenneth Terkovitch. Kenny has seen better days and a dedication to the craft. He’s no Quarian, but he’ll keep the ship running near the top of its performances–and on a budget.

With a handful of medigel and an awful bedside manner, people aren’t always comfortable around Franka Gavranić. Her best years behind her and with her owing a favor to an executive at ExoGeni the former medical prodigy finds herself stuck on a contract that she’s not fond of.

The Overhead

Mass Effect: Harpocrates is a series of stories set in the Mass Effect universe starting in 2183, three years before the devastating invasion of the Milky Way by the threat that will come to be known as the Reapers. Optimistically, the storylines presented will gradually take us through and past the events of the Reaper Invasion.

Players will create individuals who have been recruited as part of a response team tasked with operations that range from search and rescue, investigation, subterfuge, and more.
How Did We Get Involved In This?

This is the question that all six members of the Harpocrates Initiative will be asking themselves sooner or later.

Your character is a specialist. A person who has spent their life trying to figure things out and as a byproduct obtained an assortment of skills that make them one of the very best at what they do and generally being the best at what they do gets guns pointed at them. Often. For one reason or another, your character is either in dire straits or consistently unhappy in whatever that current situation they are in and are receptive to getting a job offer–a discreet, low information job offer in their inbox from the ExoGeni Corporation, a interstellar company headquartered on Eden Prime. It is a curious one, given the peculiarities of the offer to meet with the chief CEO of the company as soon as possible. It doesn’t take long for them to be on route to Eden Prime within days of the message.

The offer, as it turns out, is on a “need-to-know” basis. NDA’s are signed. ExoGeni has a dire situation about an attacked facility of theirs. They need a response team that goes beyond their current operatives and one that is away from the eyes of accountability of both the Systems Alliance and any other governing body. Your character, being an independent contractor, is offered the job of a lifetime but it is also riskier than anything they’ve ever encountered before. Something about the job compels them to say yes beyond the pay. It isn’t long before they are suiting up for a job with seven other people. Seven other specialists.

And so it begins.

Character Sheet

The Character Sheet should be pretty straightforward. Only change the [color=yellow] tag with your corresponding character color when creating your character application. When posted in here for review, post in the OOC in a hider or it will be automatically rejected.

Characters should be skilled individuals with flaws. I am not looking for complete amoral psychopaths but well-rounded characters who have the ability to grow with the role-play and the decided cast of characters. if you have any questions regarding the content of the sections of the sheet please post the question here in the OOC or send me a message privately if needed. Additionally, characters will be limited to the following races for story convienances: Human, Asari, Turian, Salarian, Quarian, Drell, and Krogan. ExoGeni is not a “Humanity First” organization, but they are a human corporation so keep that in mind if you want. It won't effect acceptance.

Some useful resources include the wiki's summarization of the timeline, classifications, and weapons.

To Be Determined

Personality
Once there was a girl who was quiet, dutiful, and scared. A girl who would’ve been quite pleasant to be around, but it has been a long time since someone else has manifested in her place. The rose-haired girl that moves as a hero is still affable but holds an eerie unearned confidence and resolve. Sometimes she says words like a dagger, misdirects her brutal ruthlessness, and refuses to ever be seen as weak again. If you spot it, you might find her scarier than you’d like to admit.

Affiliation
Lee, once a caged bird, sees heroism as a method to live free. It may be naive in a sense given the nature of corporations, but she would rather represent the Maid of Orléans in earnest than be wicked. But, the flames have a way of driving such people into madness…

Summon
The Sword of St. Catherine

Relative Strength
The Sword of St. Catherine was once held in the hands of Frankish heroes Charles Martel and Jeanne d'Arc. It is not as iconic as some other weapons of myth and legend, but among a select few including the people of France it is still remembered well enough. It is due to this that on the manifestation scale it lands at a 7 or 8.

Manifestation
The Sword of St. Catherine is a Frankish longsword. It is neither too large or too small, serving a maid in her time of crisis well. Manifested into Lee’s hands it glows with a pure, golden hue, a beacon of light as if ordained from god.

Standing at a lanky but modest height (for a girl!) of 5’8” with long, picturesque pink hair it appears that every bit of the princess she read about in her family’s library day-in and day-out.

A lot of that is due to the manifestation.

“I was a nobody, I looked like a nobody.” She would remark if you asked her about how she looked prior to her magical awakening. Her body is now athletic and not wiry, her fingers grasping the sword with the confidence of a hundred men instead of barely holding onto an old mop. She does not look like a fighter, though that quickly changes when battle begins.

“What would it take to free you of your shackles?”

She was there, cleaning the library, spent after a month of what seemed like torture. She was so alone, she had no one, and she was so very tired. Suddenly, a vision took her from the world.

A figure asked her those words, cloaked in shadow, as a sword was presented to her. A sword fit for a maid. Something inside her broke as she took the weapon from their hands as it whispered one final phrase before she returned to the world she knew, but not as the girl she was. She still thinks about those words.

“A bird is a predator. Not prey.”

Have you ever seen the movie Cinderella?

That storied fairytale of an abused young woman in service of her ungrateful, selfish family stuck in a cage of their making for what could be forever. She thought that her life would turn out like Cinderella’s, minus the happy ending.

Turns out, you have to create your own happy ending.

The Louris Family were high ranking members of a notable corporation, a wealth that afforded them luxuries and amenities that normal people didn’t have. When Lee’s father met a poor girl from a side of life the family didn’t approve of, it caused a stir. Incidentally, eloping with said girl who was already a few weeks pregnant was also rather unpopular with the patriarch of the family estate. Fights were had. They never went away, and right when there was some light at the end of the tunnel something terrible happened.

A car accident. Her parents mangled. Her guardianship with people who didn’t even see her as human. She was six years old.

And so her life tumbled into despair. Treated like a slave, so began her childhood underneath her grandfather. A life that she would maintain until her awakening fourteen years later.

Why did they choose to become a hero rather than a villain?

That’s kind of the million dollar question, isn’t it? She isn’t keen on sharing her vision or how her manifestation led to a fire that burned the Louris Family Estate to ashes. Why be a hero if you were abused and given the tools to be the opposite?

Being a hero is about being seen. She was caged so long that she had no friends and the life of a villain is so lonely. She may end up there if put on the wrong path, but who says your vision dictates your destiny at the end of the day? You are who you are. And the last maid to bear the sword of St. Catherine was a brave woman who fought for heaven before evil men set her ablaze.

That’s really the fact of the matter.

She is a hero. She must be.

Looks like some folks might be competeting. Anyway, I should be clear I originally intended this to be a 5 (6 including me!) team, but if the sheets are good I can possibly persuaded to go higher but that means the missions will probably get tougher and require the group to split up from time to time.
Well that's certainly enough for me to work on the OOC today. Dab.
The new Pokemon game is fun.

The new Pokemon game has performance issues.

Both of these can be true statements.

I've had so many experiences with games where it is both simultaneously, lol.
All these talks about plans and connecting characters and storylines and meanwhile I'm over here like....

"When's the IC gonna start?"

In a few hours. Probably.
