Nora Kingston

Location: Cairo - Headed Towards The Museum

Nora nodded at Neema's reminder of the time, simultaneously noting Mosi's name. There was little more than half an hour until she was due to meet Lady Munn and Nora couldn't help but hope they would be nearing the museum shortly. She would really hate to be late and hold up Lady Munn. It wasn't just in poor taste--it was disrespectful to be tardy for an appointment with a woman of books and learning.

The cat's stare unsettled Nora, with the amateur cryptographer clutching her hands together, one hand wrapping subtly along the branded thumb. Neema had warned her to show extra kindness to cats, given that they were symbolic for Bastet, the goddess that supposedly had chosen Nora. It felt quite silly as she locked eyes back with the cat and she bit her lip, uncertain as to what to do. Some part of her wanted to ask the cat why it was staring at her--yet it would have been childish to do so. Cats couldn't talk.

But again, she also previously believed that cats did not stare in such a manner. Today, just like the day before, was bound to be filled with illogical surprises. "Why are you staring at me, kitty?" Nora asked, her voice quiet as normal. She didn't expect the cat to give a response of any sort, but it also wouldn't have been the strangest thing to happen in the last twenty four hours. With any luck, it would all be coincidence and the cat wasn't staring at her at all.
If the messenger dashed his hopes or brought bad news, one thing was certain. Edgard's next source of pleasure would be found from strangling the man. Because nothing brings him more joy than Alisanne and bloodshed.

Oh, you are not gonna like what news the messenger is bringing....

Cecily Ashworth

Location: MSS Private Jet:

Cecily let out a sigh of relief, hearing that her wound was healing up nicely. She winced slightly as Natasha cleaned up the wound, but was glad that she didn't feel feverish or dizzy or anything. And as far as she could tell by craning her neck over to look, there wasn't much redness at all. Thinking back to the Discworld series, of which she had only finished the first book a few months back, the Lady must have decided to be kind to her in that moment.

"Thank you so much, Natasha," Cecily said, smiling. It was a big relief to have a doctor traveling with her, as much as she wanted Natasha to be able to relax and rest herself. "Please get some rest...You more than deserve it," Cecily added, hoping that once Natasha had thrown out the gauge would be able to get some rest. The doctor was way too overworked for someone having gone through cancer treatments, in Cecily's opinion. Hell, she was probably overworked for a normal doctor in general.

Cecily then pulled Jessica Jones: Alias Vol. 1 out from her bag, figuring that it would be a decent way to pass the time. She needed to take it easy as well and there wasn't much else they could do on a plane, as far as Cecily was concerned. And with Netflix annoyingly still not releasing the second season of Marvel's Jessica Jones, this was pretty much one of the only ways she could relive the adventures of her favorite superhero. She didn't quite feel like watching David Tennant torment Krysten Ritter at the moment--comics it was, then.

Iris Kingston

Location: 3932 Chicago Heights

Iris frowned a bit. That wasn't what she meant at all. However, per confidentiality laws, she couldn't just explain that two patients were responsible for the attacks and that they had injured an orderly and a visitor. She would likely not only lose her job, but her license as well. And unfortunately, this reporter didn't seem to care that Iris couldn't talk, insistent on digging and digging for a story. She regretted pretending not to speak English and conducting herself in French.

"As I said, I cannot discuss the yesterday's events with you," Iris repeated, sighing a bit as she tugged a bit on her hair. "I am not at liberty to say anything relating to what happened. So if that's all you want, bien, please leave."

The smirky look on Amy Adams' face bothered Iris, but the doctor was a bit too polite to just slam the door in her face. Somehow, Iris expected that Adams would give up and leave her be, letting her head off to work. She was a bit disappointed in her colleagues as well, with all of them seemingly just shoving Iris' contact information at anyone who asked. It wasn't the most friendly thing to do for the new doctor in town.

The Port of Tortuga: April 4th, 1719 - 2:39 PM Local Time

Harlianne James

Location: Near the Bellona - Port of Tortuga Docks

"I am not going to allow you to travel in her company without me, Miss Blackwood," Jean said sternly, enjoying the idea as much as Harlianne did. Of course, the pair of them had opposite reasons. For Jean, it was out of concern for her employer's safety. And for Harlianne, it was out of concern for her ship's safety. She didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea and attempt to take the Bellona for their own.

"I am afraid it is not up to you," Alice countered, causing a look of surprise on Jean's face. It was unlike her relatively shy employer to act like that, but Alice had already messed with a slaver today. The atmosphere of Tortuga seemed to make the child bolder by the minute.

"I 'ave ter agree wiv the chuffin' ole bat 'ere. It ain't gonna work like that, luv," Harlianne agreed. However, out of the corner of her eye she spotted someone she knew and she grinned. It wasn't Sirena or Anastasia, but it was someone she had sailed with before. The man spotted her almost at the same time, with the pair of them waving to each other quickly. He had sailed under Calico Jack as well for a few years, before jumping ship to attempt to get his own crew. Last Harlianne heard, it never worked out for him. He was wasted as a captain, literally and figurtively.

"Oi, Carter! Right! Got a job for yer!" Harlianne shouted.

Aravis Zacharia

Location: the Faithful Bride - Port of Tortuga

Jon stared at Millicent with complete and utter nervousness, not understanding how she would be so comfortable to remain in Tortuga or what business she had to conduct. Had he been Catholic, he likely would have made the sign of the cross constantly to ward back the evil that filled the port. "Miss Millicent, you cannot possibly mean to stay here?" Jon said desperately, though he had his answer quickly once Millicent entered the Faithful Bride. He did not follow.

Inside the tavern, things are as calm as to be expected. There is a slight trail of blood leading towards the stairs that take you up to the second story, where all of the rooms are. The bartender is busy cleaning up pieces of a smashed mug, as an enthusiastic drunk "accidentally" threw it to the ground as he demanded another. You'll need to speak with one of the staff to get your room key, of course.

Upstairs, Catalina pockets the five shillings before setting to work. Anastasia is lucky. While the process is painful and Catalina dabs away the blood with a cloth, no infection will set in. It's perhaps a miracle in this day and age. "Rum isn't good for bleeding," Virginia observes, continuing to pluck away at her flower. When she finishes plucking all of the petals, she sets it aside and then picks up another flower, continuing her routine.

"Is correct. No rum," Catalina agreed. It clearly wasn't the first time she had to stitch someone up like this. However, by the time she finished she was beaming at her handiwork. "Your leg, that too?" Catalina asked, looking at Anastasia and then at Elissa. Both of them had further injuries.

"We can get the both of you a spot to drink later on," Aravis said, feeling a bit of an impulse come over her. She loved her life here in Tortuga, but hadn't she always dreamed of adventures? Didn't she love stories? Wouldn't it be better to actually live one? "Perhaps once we speak to your Captain about joining her crew," Aravis added. She figured Elissa would be surprised. Aravis had never sailed as a pirate before.
