Coventry, Massachusetts: December 28th, 2016 - 7:41 P.M. Local Time

~remember, some of you were sent information as to what you know about the Mullo and Hel via PM a while back...~

Outside of Coventry, near the woods on the road to Salem, the forest wasn't out of the ordinary. The trees partially masked the sky from sight (although a good number of them had lost their leaves months ago), the noise of the bugs and the wildlife created a silent backdrop, and the light of the moon barely lit Carolina's path. The sun had already long since set and the temperature was dropping steadily. It wasn't the ideal place to be, but it also isn't a likely place for cell reception. Even if cell signal was normal in Coventry, it certainly wouldn't be in the woods.

"You can keep it!" a female voice called out from up in the trees. A moment and a thump later a girl with braids was standing in front of Carolina, having quickly scaled down the tree. Up in the tree, there's a little "net" à-la-Katniss-Everdeen, with a sleeping bag belted onto a steady branch. "You'll be doing me a favor--and hey, max out the cards in there if you want to. It's no big deal," the girl shrugged.

But meanwhile in Coventry itself...

Cecily glanced up at Seraphina in astonishment and confusion--mostly the latter. She hadn't had the letter out, with the thing crumpled up in her pocket, but somehow Seraphina knew what she was thinking about. The letter itself was incredibly personal, a letter from a father she didn't know she had. It was more than the typical "yeah, you're adopted" letter--it told her things she never knew about herself before, where she came from.

"I can't show it to you," Cecily said. She took a shuddering deep breath and the liquid around her solidified. Cecily then brushed bits of solid off of her hand, before she looked at the angel for a moment. "It's private, I'm sorry...I need to get back...I need to go see someone."

As for Aloise, the ex-marine's heart stopped for a moment. No one had seen Liam? She pulled out her phone, determined to call the prophet, but there was no signal. It wasn't an unusual problem for hunters to have with the bigger, scarier creatures, but it still filled her with a sense of dread. She didn't want to consider the possibility that Liam was in trouble, that he had gotten killed out there, but she couldn't rule it out. Aloise was so focused on thinking up all the possible things that could've happened to Liam, explanations for why he wasn't there, that she hardly noticed the hurt feelings of Darren.

"I've never heard of a mullo before," Aloise admitted. Darren wouldn't have either. The two of them knew about the same lore. "So if anyone knows anything...speak up. We need that information." Eudora and Seraphina both have information about the mullo--as well as Folly.

Folly, however, was more focused on the strange door. Fairfax seemed to be right--it really did look like it could've been the Coventry Fire from centuries ago. It had been one of her own ancestors that supposedly burned the town to the ground, but records weren't always the best kept. It could've been the ancestor of any one of the children in the circus, even if Folly's mother's records claimed it was their blood line and not another's. Long lived families tended to populate Cirque Anomaly. It was possible there was some sort of mistake made way back, even cheating or infidelity could've meant that Folly had no relation to the tortured soul who burned down the town.

"I would need to know how this door was opened in order to close it," Fairfax explained, having heard Thalia's question. He watched with bated breath as Olivia threw a pen into the doorway, not certain as to whether or not that was the best call. Unlike the wardrobe that Folly used to travel through time, he hadn't had a chance to study this. But to be fair, most of his studies of the wardrobe were through experimentation. Olivia's examination of Gus' body won't tell her much than what was already known--that he died from a stab wound inflicted on him by Seraphina, his body was covered in sulfur, and so forth.

Aloise glanced over just in time to see a hand reach through the other side of the doorway. One pen in, one hand out? The hand gripped the frame of the door and pulled, with eventually a person emerging. With long black hair that reached its feet and pale skin, the thing hardly appeared human.

"That's a mullo," Daniyal/Mallory said matter of factly. "Good luck. You'll need it."
@Nallore I'll get a post up after I updated HoC and SNW tomorrow ^^

Scarlett Cromwell

Location: Community Center
{"Have fun in hell, bitch!"}

Scarlett couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. Okay, so not everyone knew how to accept the gracious gift of a memorial party at her place and it wasn't their fault they were raised on crack and slept in dirt! No, it was on Scarlett to be the better person. She kept her temper in, though for a moment she considered loosening some of the screws for the support beams in the ceiling mentally, as a way to show people that manners matter. But she wasn't going to let their rudeness ruin her happy day.

After all, Lucy Taylor was D.E.A.D.! That skank wasn't going to come back anytime soon and if she somehow did, Scarlett would just have to kill her again. It was in her blood to rule and she definitely had the family background needed to get her way when it suited her. Forcing a few tears to fall, Scarlett had every appearance of trying to keep up appearances--trying to restrain herself from collapsing with grief and tears.

It paid to be able to act.

Hearing the noises from the lobby, Scarlett considered going out there, but the FBI agent caught her attention. Besides, he'd have to have some questions for her eventually about the dead slut. Might as well get it over with now, right? And besides, he was a little cute, for an older guy. Scarlett wouldn't mind making him her next mistake, for however brief. Making her way backstage, Scarlett 'cutely' rapped her knuckles against the wall, announcing her presence.

"Agent? Scarlett Cromwell, bestie of the deceased," Scarlett said. "You must have some questions to ask me."

@Nallore@BlueSky44@Pundii@Witch Cat@FantasyChic -

I had a bit too much free time on my hands tonight and I was inspired by Lady A. So here you go - a teaser trailer for the next Abandoned Hope Universe RP, the Seven Deadly Sins. It'll serve as the direct sequel to Horrors of Coventry and as the eagle eyed among you will be quick to notice, it features some familiar faces...

@Lady Amalthea What time of day is it currently? (Asking to see if it's about the time for Virginia to head over to Mosi's or not)

Jack Hudson

Location: Building F (The Newnans' House)

Jack couldn't have been more confused when his wife started giggling if someone told him that this had all been a practical joke and the walkers were all getting paid by studio executives to make quality prime time television. Of course, his confusion was momentarily replaced by noting that once more, Tatiana wasn't keeping off her foot. Damn. It wasn't going to heal if she kept on doing that and he was about to remind her of that, when Tatiana started explaining to him that this was normal. Ray had seen a cat carrying his leg? Damn. Maybe he wasn't that far gone.

Jack awkwardly took a seat, uncertain as to what to talk about. He hadn't been thinking too much of the day's tragedies, instead focusing on his wife, on his close friend leaving Newnan, on new responsibilities, on Miss Sally dying...And to hear that his hallucination of Dick was because that was his worst fear? There were things that scared Jack in this world, but a dead man who was going to stay dead wasn't one of them. He felt certain about that.

But as to what Jack was afraid of - that was something easy. He had known what scared him most in the world since he was little. His mother worked alone and didn't have anyone to support her, so Jack stepped up as much as he could. He protected her. It was the same reason he had become a cop, the same reason he was still alive. It was in his blood: protecting people. Especially those he cared about.

His deepest fear was that he wouldn't be there to protect them--that he'd lose them.

"Losin' the people I care about," Jack answered, noticing how similar it was to Ray's fears. "And small spaces. Can't stand 'em."

Beatrice Decker

Location: Near 545 Corinth Rd, Newnan: In the woods. (Not far from the Coweta County Water Authority)

Beatrice wasn't comfortable with the fact that James had given away their location, even if it was just the mention of a town. She had spent her life before the outbreak tracking people down with sometimes even less of a clue. If someone was determined enough, or perhaps vicious enough, she firmly believed it could be done. Hell, predictions could likely even be made as to where they'd be headed next if someone just had a map and an idea of the conditions of the road in the general area. James had even said that they were a mile outside of Newnan proper - that in itself was enough.

"A mile outside of Newnan proper," Beatrice quoted. "That's enough for anyone to find us if they care enough to. And of course, James promised to lead them to us as well." As for what they ended up doing, Beatrice did care. The fact that Gavin and James appeared to have a plan that affected herself and Ryan, without mentioning it to them thus far, didn't sit well with her. Beatrice was here with James, yes, but she didn't like going into situations blindly.

As for the mention to her mother, that struck a nerve with Beatrice, even if it had been an insult and not an inquiry. "Wouldn't know. Never really met my mother," Beatrice said quietly, about to move off from the group when James paused and affirmed that she had been right. At least his common sense hadn't completely evaporated. Hearing James' concession that they would be told soon, Beatrice nodded. She then considered James' character reference for the girl on the other line of the phone. It seemed to be safe enough--things like that were too bizarre to happen these days and she doubted someone would've stumbled upon the other phone, put two and two together, all in an elaborate plot to kill them all.

"I'll take stock," Beatrice said, before splitting off from the main group and heading over to the truck.

Chloe & Ravi

Location: Building One (Medical)

Chloe put her hands up, as if showing that she wasn't protesting Niesha's testimony that she was fine for this. Though it likely showed on Chloe's face that she doubted the girl was telling the truth. She seemed pretty shaken to her, but if she was determined to go and Froggy thought it was a good idea, then she wasn't going to protest further. There was no point to it. If Niesha wanted to go out while she's emotionally unstable, so be it.

Ravi wasn't sure if he should mention the fact that he had never taken a life before. Gavin tended to stash him away places when things got rough, but he had survived without Gavin for years. And with such a short trip so close by, just in and out, he didn't think it'd be a problem. They needed him anyways to identify the chemicals that they needed. No one else besides Froggy and himself, as far as he was aware, knew exactly what they were looking for. Things were so rarely conveniently labeled as "embalming chemicals here!"

"Ugh, fine, I'll talk to one of them," Chloe said, responding to Froggy's request that they all go and get therapy after this. She really didn't feel like going through that entire fiasco with either counselor, knowing that they'd likely ask her about how she assaulted Ryan that morning. And if not that, her past would be brought up one way or another. Had Froggy not finally welcomed her fully onto the medical staff, she likely would've just said fuck no and left it at that.

"So...where to, then?" Ravi asked. He didn't know how to get to any of the gates, where to pick up supplies, and where to go grab weapons. He was brand new to Newnan and hadn't even gotten a proper tour yet.
@mnkee He can catch up to her

Dorothy Pender

Location: Merchant Area

The slight feeling of instability and the buzzing in her ears seemed to dissipate quickly, something that Dorothy was thankful for. However, to hear that they wouldn't be able to apprehend the suspect made Dorothy's heart sink. She hadn't been able to follow each of the decisions Foy had made, but she had had faith in his ability to get them to their goal. The tracking of blood in the sewer had given her false confidence, she supposed, that they'd be able to find her once above ground. Dorothy couldn't help but regret that she had shot to wound and not to kill.

Not only was it a major security breach for the crew, but Dorothy couldn't help but feel she was continuing to fail as Anisa's second. She couldn't punish her sister, she couldn't keep Genevieve from bothering the captain when Anisa was hurting, and she couldn't even fulfill the simple task of making sure no one got onto the ship that wasn't allowed. She couldn't even force a smile, feeling like her failure was being shoved in her face. All of this time and energy for nothing. Maybe Anisa would be better off with someone else as her second. Dorothy didn't feel like she was meant for the job at this point.

"Solidarity," Dorothy agreed, feeling a bit too disappointed in herself to be irritated with Foy offering her his arm. She accepted it without too much protest, trying to imagine how exactly to tell Anisa what had happened--and how angry her friend would be. Ironically, this was a time where Genevieve would've been helpful to Dorothy. There wasn't much anyone else on the ship that she could talk to about this lack of confidence--though Atticus might do, as irritating as the preacher was.

Fitz Townsley

Location: Town (Toy Store)

Fitz's eyes widened a bit as he spotted the price tag on the game. He had grown up relatively wealthy, but he wasn't made of money and with a price like that, it'd be eating a bit into his food and shelter budget. However, before he could apologize to Royus profusely that he wasn't sure if he could afford it, Royus removed the tag from the box. It came off cleanly, a feat in itself. Fitz always had trouble pulling the little tags off of games and other items, finding that the adhesives tended to stick. It had taken a lot of practice for him to be able to get them to come off cleanly.

"I-I don't know how to thank you," Fitz said. This wasn't the type of person he had been raised to believe lived in the outer planets and the rim. He smiled at Royus, feeling a bit reluctant to leave behind the relative safety of the Toy Store. He was tempted to ask Royus if he'd be interested in taking a bit of a trip, but the old man had his store and his life here. Not everyone would abandon that...but still, it could be worth asking?

"Y-Y-You know, there c-could be games and toys in the 'Verse that would be worth collecting," Fitz said tentatively. "A-A-A-And...maybe you'd want to get them?" He wasn't sure if he could go right out and tell the old man that he thought it'd be fun if Royus came with him to see the 'Verse for a little while. It seemed a little awkward to say something to someone he had just met, but Fitz thought he might as well ask anyways. That was what this trip was about--trying new things.

Nora Kingston

Location: the Museum

Nora considered whether or not she could repeat such a recitation. It had happened in the first scenario by Neema's prompting, yet could she trigger such a spontaneous event herself? She realized that admitting that she would likely need to have the recitation prompted by Neema would shade some doubt onto her claim, yet it had been the truth. Once Neema uttered those words, the rest fell from Nora's lips almost like magic. It was as bizarre as the appearance of the brand on her finger.

"The recitation was prompted by Neema's utterance of a set of words, as if it was a conditional trigger," Nora explained. "I must confess I have not tested whether or not I may cause the recitation to begin myself or if it requires the actions of another. If Neema would be so kind as to assist me in beginning the recitation process, then I would be glad to allow you to copy down those words. Of course, given that I do not pretend to understand the circumstances in which I said that recitation, it is possible that there are other factors at play in which I do not understand." Of course, that felt like a general description of this entire situation--other factors that Nora could not comprehend.

As for Lauren's apt questions, Nora realized that Lauren had not been present for a majority of the conversations surrounding these phenomena. But given that it was Lady Munn and Neema's area of expertise, Nora felt that it was likely best if she allowed one of them to answer Lauren's questions. She was only beginning to understand the answers herself and did not feel qualified to attempt to inform another.
