Karina's family is filled with many Witches, they are an old family and span back for generations. However while the Dovankov family might be well-known among witch-kind they have never attended Raindale. They have always believed in teaching they're own and to keep their talents to themselves. Though now the Dovankov line is growing thin and they are struggling to find new Witches within their ranks - Karina herself is the first in several years. Because of this Karina was treated like a princess, she was given every opportunity possible and taught everything her family knew - though it wasn't enough. Karina hate how secluded she was from other's like her and wanted to know more about Witches. Once she was 19 Karina applied to Raindale, knowing about the school after hearing one of her aunts mention it. She was ecstatic when the acceptance letter came - finally she would be able to see and learn what others of her kind did! Unfortunately it took two years for her to actually get there, travelling from Russia to London was not cheap and her parents refused to help. They felt like the daughter they had raised betrayed them. While it pained her to leave she knew it was something she had to do, for herself and the future of her family. Without knowledge of all the magic out there the Dovankov family was bound to fade into history. 



Karina is a very determined individual, once she has set her sights on something she will work tirelessly to achieve it. This is what got her through most of her childhood, sitting through ridiculous lessons and old and outdated teachings. The downside to this is that she will become obsessed with whatever task she has given herself, she will forget about the world around her, particularly herself, until she has finished it. She will put off too many things - eating, sleeping, she will run herself into the ground just to make sure it is done.

Because Karina was secluded in Russia with just her family she has never had many friends, however she if very friendly and cooperative. She is eager to be liked and to make the friends she never really had, however she sometimes will come off as needy and desperate. Because she doesn't have much interaction with those outside her family Karina is quite gullible as well, she doesn't understand that people have evil or unjust intentions. She is very expressive in most of her emotions, however she would never in a million years let someone know if she was upset or suffering from something - she want's to make sure her friends and everyone else is happy before she herself is happy.

Karina fears that in the end she will only let her family down, that her parents will never forgive her for leaving and disobeying them. She also fears that she will never be as great of a Witch as those in her family, that she will fail.
- Has a large fear of the dark. If she can't see in front of her face she will begin to shake and hyperventilate, completely forgetting that she's a witch and can simply make it bright.

Karina dreams of becoming an important figure in the witch community, she was her family name to be known far and wide so that the Dovankov family doesn't fizzle out insignificantly. However she would also enjoy being a teacher, helping younger witches to become great.

Karina excels in elemental magic,  more specifically water and ice based magic. The Dovankov family has always been adapt as using elemental magic so this really isn't surprising. She is also adapt at scrying as well often using water to see.
𝒮𝓉𝓇𝑒𝓃𝑔𝓉𝒽𝓈
Determined - Karina is determined which helps her learn new spells. When she wants to achieve something she usually does it, and always makes sure to do it well. While she struggles naturally with grades, because she works hard she has been able to keep them decent.
Friendly: Because Karina lived in an isolated area she is very eager to make friends, her friendly and out-going nature definitely helps with this and has allowed her to live a peaceful live at the University. 
𝒲𝑒𝒶𝓀𝓃𝑒𝓈𝓈𝑒𝓈
Workaholic: Karina has a bad habit of getting so into something that she forgets the world around her and about her own well-being. On more than one occasion she has forgotten to eat and refused to sleep in order to get something done, resulting in her getting sick.
Blunt: While she may be friendly Karina also has a bad habit of saying what's on her mind, even if it might not be the nicest thing.

Just like a normal Witch Karina was given a ritual to complete on her 16th birthday. For her family it is a large event, a coming of age ceremony if you will. Volkier was the one who came to her on that fateful night though required something in return for his companionship. Karina us to give 10 years of her life to him and while she didn't want to do it she had to, her whole family was watching and never had a Dovankov rejected their contract terms. Volkier usually walks around looking like your typical wolf.
