@Project Nicely posted. Heh, you can ask Lillipup to find more Oran Berries for you if you want to. But otherwise, sure, resting. And now to catching a Growlithe. When it comes to catching, I'll mostly give the option to quick-catch or so, but I won't mention it. Only in specific scenarios are quick-fighting not an option, like if it's a very important wild Pokémon taking part in a story-scenario or if you're fighting someone with relative importance to the plot. But I won't ever approach a battle with the assumption that you're going to quick-fight it, unless you, like, tell me it's your preferred method. That said, you've outlined a strategy here, so I might as well follow it to its natural conclusion. Haha.
@Pirouette Yeah, one Pokéball for Gible's going to be needed. And, yeah, that's a nice post. Nicely posted. Feels good and all that. Haha. Anyways. Moving on. Alright, we'll see you when you can post again, there'll be a reply waiting for you unless I've gone and screwed something up in real life. Haha.
So... I did consider that perhaps there'd be someone who could find me, or perhaps I'd intervene if someone got too close to Shatterpoint... but is the idea that Shatterpoint gets away and the Minutemen only finds an empty warehouse, mostly? That is somewhat disappointing, given how long I've waited, but alright. Should I just have Wisp slip off into nothingness, then? ... Oh, well.
@Rune_Alchemist Gym Leader needs to show that his Pokémon can do things. And so he does. Now, how do you counter?
@Pirouette Now, I realize what I typed implies a whole lot about the perceived personality of the Gible, but you're really still allowed to change it to whatever you want on your own. Hahaha.
Drifloon accepted Amelia’s comforting and then simply hung around. She still held it, after all, looked like it was along for the ride.
Now, then. Amelia greeted the three small fairies with a cry that made them momentarily recoil, but then just look among one another in light amusement. Then, she asked the one question that they could actually answer.
‘Flabébé!’ One of them answered in a high-pitched voice, rising a little in altitude as it did. She also didn’t mind floating over the young girl’s hand, looking at her. So, then she asked if they knew a place where they could find some Oran Berries… The faces lit up.
‘Flabé!’ ‘Bébé!’ The fairies then drifted away from her, into the forest and directly through one of the arcs standing around, smiling to her and pausing if she was taking her time following, they clearly intended her to follow. Reminder, it’s still raining, although the forest trees were taking a lot of it.
They’d head off on a little stroll through the trees. They’d wander by several of the lanterns and arcs, but it’d be relatively simple to seek one’s way back to the outside. Unlike Infested Woods, this wasn’t an inherently dangerous forest. There were small movements of Pokémon hiding here and there, and more Flabébé’s drifting around, and the only sound that could be heard was the rain, the occasional rustle of vegetation and the Flabébé’s ahead of her calling to her to follow. But, soon enough…
It was honestly still in the forest. But just beyond an arc, lay a little glade. In it, there were numerous berry trees, standing with several types. Seemed like this was simply a place suitable for berries. But there was a catch. Underneath it lay a resting little clan of a multitude of pink scary-faced dog-like Pokémon either chewing on berries themselves or standing as if guarding the trees. Apparently, this was their turf, and their faces sure looked like “DON’T GET IN OUR WAY”. … Buuut, um. They were Snubbulls. Debatable how intimidating they might be looking.
Pokédex Entry #209 – Snubbull, the Fairy Pokémon. It carries a scary face that frightens smaller Pokémon, but Snubbull is actually a cowardly, excessively affectionate and kind Pokémon that is very popular with women for its frolicing ways. It becomes sad from Pokémon fleeing it and is known to sleep half the day.
‘Flabébé!’ The Flabébé’s pointed into the glade without actually entering it, smiling at Amelia. It was now up to her how to confront this.
Erza left the school and then headed on to the Pokémart, shopped for mostly all his remaining money, and then headed on out. It was easy to find the way towards Route 1, simply follow the largest roads. He passed many people within Pureplain City, heading on their average businesses, but as he came further out the people thinned out, replaced with travellers and Pokémon trainers. Yupp. It was time to come out into the world of Isson.
Route 1
Route 1 is a long, flat and grassy route where most trainers get their first taste of the world. From Pureplain you can see the hills of Highhill in the distance, from Highhill the scrapers of Pureplain looms in the distance, the start of the Silent Forest surrounding the Silent Shrine on the side. There is a larger road, a main road used for travelling in and out of Pureplain City, there are plenty of more mature travellers taking that road to get from point A to point B. But, young Pokémon Trainers usually much rather use the smaller path going out into the grassland. This is some remnants of the plain which Pureplain City was named after, although most of that plain is now swallowed up by buildings of people living around here. Small roads branch out, leading to different places where some individuals have made their houses.
There are many safe roads, yet take one step out of it and you’re immediately in tall grass, where you can already see many first-time Pokémon Trainers are challenging their first Pokémon. One could expect Pokémon Trainers to be searching for Pokémon either in the tall grass or the forest on the side, and also battling one another as they can. From the looks of it, there are plenty of young trainers sporting freshly caught Pidgeys and Rattatas. As one approaches Highhill Town, the forest becomes more plentiful, as beyond the town lies a forest.
Through the route also runs an indent, a drain surrounded by walls, seemingly made for the water to gather up inside it. It’s currently dry, whatever cause of that might be. Some trainers appear to be having fun battling inside it, and they’re running around challenging one another inside it. But, the drain also raised interesting questions about what kind of Pokémon or things one might find should one explore it further.
So, out in the wild he saw more Pidgeys, as he could be reasoned to, and it wouldn’t take many steps out into the tall grass before he and his Pokémon came face to face with the other most common Pokémon of Route 1, a purple-backed little rat commonly known as Rattata.
Pokédex Entry #19 – Rattata, the Mouse Pokémon. It has impressive vitality that allows it to live anywhere there is food. It scavenges for food all day and reproduces quickly. Very cautious, it’s ears listen for trouble even when asleep. It’s teeth never stop growing, it will gnaw on things to keep their size in check.
Well. He did intend on training, and here was the weakest Pokémon in Isson, and they came in droves. It was just smash in and do work. He trained his two weakest Pokémon, fighting on and on against the smaller ones. He’d note there were many Youngsters and such new Pokémon trainers doing basically the same thing. Well. He’s be able to get considerable progress, making Pidgey and Lillipup more fit to be fighting Pokémon on his team.
Lillipup grew to Level 5! Lillipup learned Odor Sleuth!
Pidgey grew to Level 5! Pidgey learned Sand Attack!
Both are pretty beat up, now, though, having fought from a low level to a slightly more respectable one in one stretch.
Oh, hi, Oran Berry! … That is, Lillipup finds an Oran Berry lying around in the tall grass.
… However, beyond that. Erza would search, and he’d find. Pidgey knew what he was looking for, correct? From a higher point of view, Pidgey’d see a Growlithe, resting against a tree by the other end of the tall trees, by the beginning of the forest. From there, Erza could advance.
Pokédex Entry #58 – Growlithe, the Puppy Pokémon. Known to be brave and loyal to it’s trainer, but will bark threateningly at anyone entering its territory. It has superb sense of smell and will never forget a smell once it has picked up on it. Through smell, it can sense the emotions of others.
From the smell, Growlithe would notice Erza approaching its territory. The resting puppy-Pokémon would quickly spring to its legs, turning towards Erza, and rapidly proceed to bark at him, glaring. Now, then. What would Erza do?
Nincada, moving sideways, was able to avoid Flabébé’s Fairy Wind, which soared through the cavern and the spiritual wind broke against the cavern walls as it passed, making its mystical destructive capability known as it went through. Fortunately, it wasn’t that fast, but it had range. And Flabébé was using that range, keeping a distance from Nincada, drifting backwards. Meanwhile, Wooper went off to the right into the water to keep shooting Water Guns at Bagon, which took every single one of them, with little damage done. Bagon was still charging Wooper in rage, when…
‘Bagon. Discontinue.’ Cathia ordered, neutral but focused expression. She hadn’t reacted to Martin’s taunt, her attention completely on the battle. ‘Charge Nincada. Ember when close enough or after the next Water Gun. Flabébé. Move closer to Nincada, Fairy Wind. Punish dodging.’
Bagon has to twist itself to break the Rage attack, but manages. Instead, it turns to Nincada, who now stands without the Wooper shield because Wooper went to the water. Because of Not Very Effective, it seems Cathia decided to focus down on one of her opponents. Bagon turned and dashed, fire building in its mouth, glaring at Nincada. Flabébé joined the charge, summoning another Fairy Wind, ready to unleash.
Lucario and Hector both stood still as Claire sent out Ritz. Hector stood with a confident grin, arms crossed, looking at Claire and her Pokémon with eager and battle-ready eyes. Lucario, meanwhile, stood simply stoic and ready, arms raised for combat. Then, the battle was starting. Ritz was starting to fire Supersonic, while Ralia was charging a Confusion… Hector’s grin spread enough to show teeth.
‘Lucario, FIGHT!’ So sounded his only command. It was all he needed.
‘Luca!’ The blue canine-like Pokémon sounded out, before… it was gone in the wind. No, not quite gone, but very fast. Not extreme speed fast, but Quick Attack fast. Lucario used the move to run right around Ritz’s Supersonic, the waves missing completely, before the blue Pokémon simply jumped up into the ladybug for immediate impact. It had been too fast to dodge. Ritz would find that the impact had dealt considerable damage… but he could probably handle at least one or two more of those.
In the meantime, Ralia got off her Confusion when Lucario stopped and had to drift to the ground because having impacted. The move went off, hitting the fighting/steel type, and Lucario recoiled with a grimace of pain as the move hit its mind. However, his mind was otherwise as focused as ever, and turned to glare in Ralia’s direction. From the stance of its feet, it was clear it was going to do another Quick Attack, this one in Ralia’s direction, probably before Ritz could even properly recover from the impact.
So, the Gibles around her cheered for they had managed to catch up to her and poked on her, most of them looking like they had somehow accomplished a great victory. Others decided to play the game themselves, choosing another Gible (sometimes not willingly) to suddenly chase, and the Gibles were suddenly chasing one another around the Plateau. The nearby Gabite turned and stared in frowning disbelief, as well as a Gabite can frown, and looked like it was looking for someone to blame for this chaos. That aside.
‘Gible~! Gible~!’ The Gible on her legs was privately celebrating, knowing it was the one who got her first, bouncing from one leg to the other, in both their cases. It then blinked a bit in surprise as it was petted, looking up at Erika as she made her proposition.
‘Gib…?’ It blinked a bit more, showing surprise. Join… her team? Come with her? It had some brief mental images of what that would involve, but it looked over the plateau that had been its life up until now. Did it really want to leave…?
… … … … …
WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU THINK!? BY WINNING THIS COMPETITION, HE HAD CLEARLY PROVEN TO BE THE MOST FIT AND CAPABLE GIBLE ON THE PLATEAU! THE NEXT NATURAL STEP WAS NATURALLY TO TAKE ON THE WHOLE WORLD! EVEN IF THIS GIRL WAS WEAK, HIS MERE INCLUDANCE IN THE TEAM WOULD ELEVATE HER TO CHAMPION LEVEL!
THIS!
WAS!
ON!
‘GIBLE!’ Gible jumped on her legs, looking up at Erika with eagerness in his positively sparkling eyes, more than ready to join the trip.
Erika obtained Gible!
Gender: ♂ Type: Dragon/Ground Personality: (Up to player.) Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: (Up to player.) Level: 6 Moves: Tackle, Sand Attack Ability: Sand Veil, increases evasion during a sandstorm. Held Item: None.
New Pokémon caught! Erika earned 2000 P!
Would you like to give a nickname to Gible?
Then suddenly she heard wings. Big wings.
‘Er, everything alright? I kind of heard a stampede and a scream, and…’ Lesley asked, sitting on top of a Druddigon, the dragon glaring down at her while the Gym Leader looked over the dragon’s head down at Erika with a mildly curious and mildly worried look. Like, had she sent a young girl to be seriously wounded by stampeding young dragons or not?
@BrokenPromise This is extremely sensible. I'll make a minor edit to the part concerning that for now. Of course, depending on what others say I'll edit further.
@Ariamis If Lily reacts in any other way than letting herself be led away, tell me. Because then I can edit that to cut off at the italics in the middle.
Edit: Or maybe Sue can tell Alex that he's slightly overreacting. Maybe. I mean, I understand his reaction to what she said, but it wasn't so bad it needed immediate attention, so to say. Eh. Anyways. That post is there if those things are the case, somebody tell me if that doesn't play out like that.
Mariette stared blankly, perhaps coldly-looking at Lily as she reacted to Violet’s words. Seemed like she had a few things to reconsider. Good, Mariette thought. She had a few things that she wanted to say, herself, about what Lily had told her before asking for help and claiming them to be friends. However, she was offered the piece of paper, with a number. … Hmpf.
Violet was writing it down. Mariette waited until she was done. In the meantime, Sue suddenly ran out of time, asked Lily a couple of things and then poofed back into a petrel and flew.
‘Oh! I’ll be seeing you later, then, Sue!’ Deni quickly acted to call out after her across the diner as Sue flew out, reaching up and waving with a big grin. Albeit the previous exchange did confound her, she still very much intended on having that meeting~
So, after Violet was done writing that down, Mariette lazily opened a portal directly from her hand to the note, reaching forward only the bare minimum in between to grab the note between two fingers and then return it, closing the portal as she did. Now, that said, she did have a reply to say to Lily. She turned to look at her, prepared to speak, and-
-Alexander appeared, grabbing Lily and intending on leading her off. Mariette lost what she saw as her moment to speak, and instead just stared to see what happened.
... Oh. Lily's being led away? But Mariette hasn't even said a word! I had this little sub-speech all planned out, lecturing her... ... ... Oh, well. Guess Violet did that for her. And now Alex is carrying her off, and Mariette's going to sit there with a stare of "what am I doing here, again", just watching them, assuming that's what's going to happen. Hahaha. Gosh. ... But yeah, she'll take that note. I can write that fairly soon if I shouldn't wait for anyone else. Hah.
@BrokenPromise Oh, my... That's a lot... Yeah, I could potentially have gotten into that, but that's a lot and I think I'm happy like this. XD
@Pirouette I also read all the- wait... Oh, right... XD
And nicely posted. Sorry about the slight head trauma, but they're young dragons, there's a reason why Lesley wears armor, haha. Now let's see if she gets away with anything.
[@All] So, yikes. I didn't really intend on updates being a weekly thing, but oh, well. I will post when I can. I'm working on it!
