”But she had greatly overestimated what she could do in the small space between Tonya’s open umbrella and Tonya herself. ”
Actually, just to prove I’m not a complete idiot, let me explain the misconception there. Mayra wasn’t intending on doing anything between the umbrella and Tonya. Mayra was going to pass Tonya on Tonya’s left side with her own left arm raised up to deck her in the face, which would ignore umbrella but then hit Tonya in the face. That is, the swing I described was started WAY before Mayra actually reached the umbrella. But apparently I suck at description, so whatever. Way too late to think about it. I just really wanted to include that explanation in the actual IC somewhere.
So, Mayra’s arm slammed into her opponent… and instead of her opponent getting decked Mayra’s arm got caught in the barbed skin and swung to slam into the girl. It was way too close, but heck, Mayra loved close! The eventually got untangled from one another, and that’s when the melee began. Tonya turned out to be a masterful used of the blade/umbrella, but close combat was Mayra’s forté as well. There wasn’t a moment that Mayra wouldn’t spend on the offensive, only the briefest moments where Mayra had both feet on the ground.
‘YEAH, LET’S DO THIS~!’ she cried, her eyes alight with the flames of excitement as Mayra’s body swung about to deliver vicious kick after savage clawing of her monster-hands at her opponent, her magic fire constantly flaring to keep her limbs lit and also just blasting behind her to keep Tonya’s wind from blowing her out of her beloved close combat. However, while Mayra span in the air to deliver kick, claw and slap of her tail, Tonya expertedly blocked and dodged each move with her skill. Where Mayra was savage and relentless, Tonya matched her with expertise, and even when Mayra found herself hit she quickly pulled together to deliver another savage kick. But, she realized, she wasn’t actually making headway, in this pillar of wind her opponent had the advantage. This could be dangerous.
… And that’s when Alex’s enchantments surged in and hit her from behind, Mayra’s eyes widening as she felt the power surge through her limbs. This was reinforcement. She was being powered up to fight her stronger opponent. Mayra’s happy grin spread so widely, her eyes filled with childlike wonder. She barely heard Alex’s line about keeping her opponent alive.
‘YEEAAH~!’ she cried, and immediately launched herself straight at Tonya. ‘C’MON, C’MON, C’MON, C’MON, C’MON-!’ In no state for intelligent conversation, Mayra struck forward, actively trying to tear through her opponent’s defenses with upgraded martial capability, slicing with claws and kicking with legs from all manners of directions attempting to overwhelm her opponent and reposition herself as often as she could around her with bursts of fire, and if she ever got the chance to she tried to grab the opponent’s weapon, the umbrella, to swing herself around it and kick the opponent on the other side.
At the specific event of the metal stein aimed for her head, Mayra swiftly attempted to dodge under it, after which she attempted to launch herself forward to claw at the opponent’s chest. That failing, she’d attempt dodging whatever counter by ducking and grabbing the ground so she could swing around her lower body to deliver two hard kicks at her opponent, then use the fire within to blast her legs back so she could slide back with her arms, trying to continuously deflect or dodge her opponent and try to translate the force from the defensive motions into offense to land her own blows. That’s how Mayra fights. Currently, the monster-girl was 100% in the business to prove she was THE force to be reckoned with on her prefered range of super-close-combat~!
To clarify, Mayra wasn’t REALLY trying to kill her opponent, but it wasn’t as if she was considering that her opponent might not survive if she got in a vicious enough hit. Whatever happened happened~!
Mayra wouldn’t have the ability to realize if Tonya was replaced with an illusionary copy, and would continue violently pursuing her enemy as she tried to move away. ‘WHERE ARE YOU GOING!? WE’RE HAVING SO MUCH FUN, STAY AND FIGHT~!’
... Now, even if we went with this, Mayra'd probably still be hit, given she has no form of defense against an invisible opponent.
Edited: I was under the impression she was stabbed with this:
Note, sharp but thick tip, quickly gets wider to spread wound apart and do more damage, closed and long so it’ll go deep with no stopping point, Magical Girl blessed weapon probably pretty destructive and can run you through.
Which’d result in…
Mayra found herself lying in the bottom of a grave, her hands clutching the hole in her stomach. Tonya had hit her with all her strength, and with a direct hit like that not even Mayra’s hide could protect her. Mayra raised her head to look at the hole… and there was blood everywhere, a girl with less Vitality would probably be dying. ‘Ooooh hahahahah, that’s bad,’ Mayra laughed, despite the fierce pain. Honestly, she wouldn’t even mind it that much, but she still had no idea what actually hit her. That honestly bothered her more than the wound.
‘Ooooh, darn it, hahahaha~!’ Mayra laughed, lying in place in the bottom of the grave. Yeah, moving would probably be a bad idea for now, this smarted like hell~!
Instead, she was actually stabbed with this:
Note, small tip makes small hole so limited damage, open and as such can only go so far in compared to closed, not nearly as deadly.
So the following happens instead.
‘… Ow,’ Mayra made a noise as she lay in the bottom of the grave. Hm. She had no idea what had hit her, and this was somewhat bothering her. She raised her head to look at the wound… and it was a relatively small, bleeding wound that still went a fair bit into her, but didn’t really do that much damage.
‘Oh, is that it?’ Mayra grinned, somehow having imagined that she should have taken way more damage than she actually did. Well, no point staying about here, then! She flinged her legs back so that the force brought her up onto her arms. The movement hurt the wound, slowing her down a bit supposedly, but as if Mayra was going to let that keep her down. With arm-muscles and a blast of fire Mayra flew up from the grave and into the air, spinning to face back towards the action.
‘ALRIGHT, WHERE’S THE-’ -and she shut up seeing Alex attacking something that didn’t seem to exist. Mayra blinked a bit, remembering that she had been attacked by something unseen, and then let herself drop to the ground bending her knees with one claw bracing the ground, her tail swinging. She smirked, taking a moment to watch what was happening, but also looking for her moment to blast into combat.
Blood leaked from the small, untreated hole in her stomach. The blood… was glowing a hot, fiery yellow rather than normal red blood, and looked extremely hot, even if it quickly cooled down upon leaving Mayra’s body, becoming redder and thicker the further from the wound it ran.
He acknowledged that it was Okichitaw, but otherwise didn’t answer her question. Suppose that was fine. There’d be no more need for talking in their battle, then.
So, Naja successfully managed to get close to her opponent, grabbed the hand and moved to get behind him, but her opponent turned flexible enough to somehow get a knee into her. Naja grunted, and promptly blasted him off with her Bolstered Spear technique, sending him flying with her chi, the double impact making both fighters fly a bit of a distance away from one another. Naja was frowning. No time to check how Sam was doing. She heard Light’s cheering. Alright, then.
Without pause, Pacho continued to create something in his hand. A large tomahawk axe. Given the range he used it on, it had to be a projectile. Naja quickly kicked into the asphalt next to her to launch her to her right, knocking herself over so that she may roll over her back and back onto her feet in order to avoid the thrown axe. After this, assuming she hasn’t found herself cut, Naja once again launched herself forward aggressively, intending to get in close again.
Even if she got hurt by some unknown property of Falcon Dive, as long as she was fighting fit her strategy would be the same now. Naja felt she was stronger physically. She also felt that this man probably hid more tricks, and as such she should finish this fight if she at all got the option to. He was probably going to strike at her with another of those manifested weapons. So she dashed in towards him, looking like she was going to go in for another Baji Quan close-quarters battle with her fists and elbows, leaned forward to make herself a smaller target…
Except right at the part where he probably manifested some sort of weapon, Naja suddenly spun, her body swinging about 180 degrees until the tip of her left metal foot slammed into the weapon or Pacho’s guard or so from his right. One of the basic rules of Savate was to feint, after all.
From there Naja’d kick numerous time with her left foot while standing on her right, the extremely quick motion of bending the knee and striking out again numerous times, and when Pacho’s counter came she’d jump to counter herself, twisting in the air to then instead kick down with her right foot from Pacho’s left to strike him from an unexpected angle while both her feet were in the air.
Dei rushed forth to Ember, and in turn Eryn(?) pointed forth at the Charmander and gave her command to Phantump. That is to say, her lips moved as if she made a command, but no audible words left her mouth as far as either Eryn or her Pokémon could hear. Phantump, however, went to action as if receiving a command.
Dei shot his first Ember, and hit Phantump straight on. The stump-Pokémon let out a cry and floated off slightly on fire, taking considerable damage from the Super Effective move, but regardless spun around and launched a Confuse Ray at Dei, which he was unable to avoid. Dei had become confused!
… Which then caused Eryn to switch to Kylie! Kylie immediately suffered an Astonish. Kylie went for her floating stump opponent, who initially stayed on a range and sent a Confuse Ray in her face. Unfortunately, this meant she mistook a rock for her opponent and slammed into that trying to Astonish it, damaging herself in confusion. Eryn switched back to Dei, and Dei took an immediate Astonish from Phantump… which ultimately didn’t mean much because Dei shot an Ember back at Phantump and the Super Effective move blasted the woodland ghost back to Eryn(?) where it fainted before her feet. Eryn(?) looked down at Phantump with a slightly troubled frown, then gave Eryn a smirk saying she wasn’t done yet.
Against Pumpkaboo, Dei once again got an Ember in, doing significant damage before Pumkaboo got off a Confuse Ray on the Charmander. Eryn immediately switched to Kylie to combat the Confusion. Eyn(?) caught on and Pumpkaboo calmly kept a bit of a distance and sang the song of Pumpkaboos and Gourgheists, summoning a ghastly feeling like if spirits converged upon Kylie, giving her an additional Ghost-type with the intention to then Astonish. This backfired dramatically when Kylie employed her new temporary Ghost-type for a powered-up Astonish straight in Pumpkaboo’s face, the ghost-type rolling back from the Super-Effective move but Kylie pursuing. Kylie being faster, she hit Pumpkaboo with another Astonish before Pumpkaboo was able to Astonish her back. Kylie eventually got in the finishing Astonish, and sent the ghost flying back to Eryn(?), fainted.
Throughout the whole of this, Eryn(?) had constantly been given commands that her Pokémon were seemingly following, but no sounds came from her mouth, it was just her lips moving as if she was shouting the commands. Now Eryn(?) was looking really troubled, frowning a bit, but finally she shook her head and gave Eryn a rebellious stare, throwing Cascoon into the mix.
Though, Kylie had no problem dealing with Cascoon. Both Eryn(?) and Cascoon seemed surprised that Poison Sting didn’t work on Kylie, who doesn’t actually look like a steel-type. Tackle came way too late as Kylie Fairy Winded Cascoon back to Eryn(?), fainted.
Dei grew to level 9! Kylie grew to level 9! Kylie learned Bite!
Eryn was victorious! Eryn gained 0 P for winning!
With that, Eryn(?) fell down on her knees, her expression looking defeated, surrounded by the fainted forms of her Pokémon. She looked up at Eryn with a sad little smile when she was asked who she was and what she wanted, and simply held up a hand… and gently waved four fingers at Eryn in the generally recognized gesture of “away”. Throughout the entire battle and this scene after, no voice had ever escaped Eryn’s doppelganger’s throat.
‘… Huh?’ the trainer made a noise as he noticed Claire running close, because Ralia had just teleported up onto the Togekiss. Togekiss, in the meantime…
Togekiss first stared ahead, blank as it felt Ralia’s extra weight upon her back. It wasn’t a lot of weight, but there was a weight. It seemed like she was being used as a mount.
‘Wait, Parvati, no-!’ the trainer started…
‘Toge-!’ Parvati the Togekiss suddenly swung her wings powerfully, blowing itself and Ralia straight up into the sky at as great a speed as a Togekiss could maintain. Ralia was suddenly taken on one heck of a joyride, Parvati doing numerous loops and quick turns and slices through the air, and if Ralia ever fell of she’d make a turn to recover her in the air…
‘Oh, there she goes…’ the trainer said, before turning to look at Claire. He gave a bit of an awkward smile, his clothing still sticking out as being unbelievably fancy.
‘Um, I’m Frans, the son of the owner of the Private Palace north-west of here. I’m a Pokémon Trainer…’ Frans made a slight grimace. ‘… Or, at least a Pokémon combatant. I’ve never actually captured a single Pokémon of my own. All my Pokémon were gifts. No matter how many times I’ve fought in the Pokémon League, it was never by my own efforts…’ He said, sounding a little bitter. He then shook his head.
‘I-in any case, I’m sorry for the trouble Parvati is causing you! Your Pokémon will be returned unharmed, it’ll just… take a bit of time,’ Frans said, sounding like he was worried Claire’d be mad, while Parvati was still doing loops in the skies above. ‘Um, do you want to be compensated somehow?’ Frans asked, looking worried though maintaining a smile.
The man was most certainly a noble, and somewhere in the edge between young man and adult. … So, what would be Claire’s reaction, here?
‘… Guh,’ the girl made another noise when Erza made some accusatory words in his declaration to Castorm to give the mirror back. That said, if she was given the mirror back eventually she’d grab it and immediately turn around.
‘… One day, we’re going to need this mirror to save us. If we don’t understand how it works by then, then what’s even the point of it? The text about it say nothing, and none of the scholars or elders know. That’s why I’m experimenting,’ she told, sounding defensive. ‘… I’m going to go place this back at the Abandoned Shrine, now.’
With that said, the girl hurried off, her Pokémon following in turn.
So, two options. Erza either stopped her / stalked her or whatever, or he headed back to Redcoast City to heal his Pokémon as intended, and here’s the city thing regardless if you want it or not.
Redcoast City
Redcoast City. Named so for the beautiful twilights that this sea is said to provide on the nights by the sandy beaches to the immediate west. Perhaps it is due to the perpetual rain over Rainrock, but it almost never rains here, and what started out as simply a pathway between Worldedge and Pureplain grew into a small city in its own right. Here, people mainly gather for the outpost towards the sea and to spend a well-deserved vacation. The buildings here are a mix of old fancy styles rich people might appreciate and healthy modern buildings, many green trees and pools of water invite nature in here. But the city is also not big enough to intimidate the average visitor, many open spaces exist with fresh vacation-air going through town, a homely feeling. Redcoast is close enough to Pureplain to be able to partake in all sorts of worldly delicacies, and hotels as well as restaurants of the fanciest kinds exist along the streets. But these things isn’t the main reason why Pokémon Trainers would be coming to Redcoast City,
A Pokémon Gym exists, one which all Pokémon Trainers who wish to partake in the Pokémon League needs to enter eventually. It is said to be a run-down ware-house that emits an evil aura and cries of pain can be heard from within frightening those who’d wish to visit. For a Pokémon Coordinator, this is also the city where their adventure starts, with the Contest Hall allowing tryouts for the newest talents and Dreamer Studios allowing for training within the field for those wishing to take on the world. Closer to the water lies the Surfer’s Club, where one can partake in training and sports for those who wishes to ride their Pokémon across the waves along with other activities. And then, also closer to the sea, is a large building where Team Virtue resides in their West Base opposite their main base in Justroad City, reminding that this place us under their guard. They’re always accepting applicants.

Recalling her Pokémon, Amelia advanced on the nightmare with her determination focused, with her threat identified. Her “father” stopped moving, gazing at her like disapproving, as did the Sableye, as did the very storm outside the window. Amelia offered her hand, and held her speech. There were numerous longer seconds of silence.
‘Assume for a moment that I would let them go,’ Amelia heard, as if within her head. ‘What would I do then? How would you help me against her?’
The voice was sceptic. Distrusting of humans. Not about to believe her just immediately. Needed to hear more. However, for the moment, it seemed like the being she talked to was willing to at the very least listen.
The girl listens to Dawkin’s reasoning and nodded to his conclusion.
‘Very well, sounds reasonable,’ she concluded. She then watched Dawkin pick Amelia up in that particular way, raising an eyebrow as she looked upon it. … She put a hand into her little bag that she has hanging around her neck, lifted a tiny little camera, and took a picture. It was most certainly going to be useful later. Before Dawkin had a moment to consider the fact she just took a photo of him carrying Amelia, she had spun around and pointed to a corridor.
‘This way! Abra, come!’ she called, starting to dash off while Abra teleported to a position with its feet crossed around her neck to keep itself steady, the girl grabbing the Pokémon’s legs as she ran.
They headed past a corner. Some Goletts and other ghosts passed them by, but unlike earlier they were not intending to battle them, now they were in the mode of defending their tomb against more dangerous opponents. With that, they were free to pass, and was able to run all the way into the depths of the tomb…
Something dark presents itself ahead. Something dark surrounded by something bright. And there’s a broken wall…
Dawkin enters a large room, a dead-end by all means proven. However, there’s a giant hole in the ground, revealing a tomb beneath a tomb. The hole was cracked open and something had escaped… almost. There was like a magical wind was surging around the darkness, with feathers entwined into the wind keeping the darkness within from escaping. Said darkness had its eyes closed, sending out periodical pulses of darkness against the wind that was restraining it, shaking the wind and the feathers, but so far the wind was staying put.
The darkness was, of course…
However, what the Pokédex was showing, was…

Pokédex Entry #491 – Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokémon. A Legendary Pokémon. Most active during nights of the new moon, it can lull people and Pokémon to sleep and make them dream, after which it is said that Darkrai then feeds on the dream. It’s dreams is also a defensive measure, as it puts potential attackers or intruders on its territory to sleep and have them experience vicious nightmares. Stories from across Isson paints Darkrai as a vicious villain that needs to be contained, but others argue that Darkrai never meant any harm. It has a vicious rivalry with the Lunar Pokémon of pleasant dreams, Cresselia. Darkrai has not been heard of on Isson for thousands of years.
Yet despite that last sentence, clearly, it was here.
… And someone else stood here. A man, stood before Darkrai, his arms behind his back, a half-a-meter tall Pokémon floating to his left…
The Pokémon suddenly let out a noise and pointed back towards the recently arrived, and the man staggered a bit, turning around.
‘Oh, blimey, is it that time already? I may overstayed my-’ the man said, turning around to face Dawkin, where he stopped his sentence at once. His expression went from mildly distressed to mildly amused as soon as he saw him.
‘… Or not. Hm, regular adventurers, huh. Mm. Yeah, don’t mind me, I was just wondering what had gotten Roderick’s feathers all ruffled.’ He gave a little smile, and then turned back to Darkrai, his Pokémon remaining with him. Dawkin had never seen this Pokémon before.
The girl staggered, frowning and taking numerous steps backwards, behind Dawkin.
‘This man and his Pokémon… are really strong… it would appear…’ she commented with a frown.
As said, the Pokémon is one that Dawkin has never seen before. He cannot identify it, and neither can his Pokédex.

Pokédex Entry #??? - Error, does not recognize Pokémon.
‘Honestly, this thing… It’s tempting me, I can sense how powerful it is. But although it is supremely powerful, it’s a mere master of nightmares. It doesn’t have control on the scope that I desire,’ the man lamented, lobbing a Pokéball with a purple top twice from his hand and back into the same hand that had lobbed it before he put the ball back into his attire. His Pokémon grinned, looking back at Dawkin.
‘Hey, kid. Roderick and his band of white-clothed semi-religious nuts are coming her to seal Darkrai away. A waste, but I can’t be bothered investing resources countering every move my rivals make. Send forth your greatest champion, and then tell me. What do you wish to do? What conclusion do you desire for this incident?’ the man asked, sounding curious. ‘… Hold on, don’t I know you? Oh, yeah. Allan put you forward as a recruit for the team,’ he said, suddenly turning around smirking at Dawkin. ‘How’s catching that Pichu going?’ he asked, looking with an amused look at Dawkin. His Pokémon grinned at him as well.
‘… Darkrai?’ Chatot repeated what Joshua spoke. By now Ivory and Oscar was making their ways to find possible alternative entrances, some of their grunts had ground-type Pokémon that started attempting to dig through walls.
‘So, you do know of it,’ Roderick commented, looking strictly towards Joshua. ‘It is a really difficult Pokémon to catch. You should understand that we don’t want it escaping somewhere where we cannot control it,’ Roderick said. In any case, Roderick was totally intending on engaging in Pokémon battle here. That aside.
‘Ugh,’ the girl initially made a noise of annoyance when Erza spoke of that she might need to prove that it belongs to her. Then, Erza suggested she describe the item. The girl took a moment, then… ‘Fine.’
‘It’s a mirror, which frame is blue on the left, green on the right, brown on the top and white in the bottom. It’s supposed to reflect truth, and local legends say that when it reflects the “Strong One”, the beasts will return to their true forms and nature will be calmed. It’s been stored in the Abandoned Shrine for generations in case it is ever needed again, so it isn’t strictly mine, it belongs to Redcoast City as a whole, but I’ve been it’s protector for a good while,’ the girl said, frowning. ‘If you really, REALLY have to, we can take it to the Redcoast City officials who can confirm my story. … And who’ll probably berate me for trying to experiment with it.
So, yeah, it’s supposed to reflect truth, so I took a rain-form Castform to it in order to check if it’d return to its normal self, or something. Instead it grabbed the mirror and floated away while I was grumbling about that it didn’t work. … Will that do?’
Qwerty attempted to dodge, however Growlithe had more in both levels and speed. He didn’t go for Ember, on account Bite is just as strong and Allan had this notion that Porygons probably had pretty good Special Defense, not to mention flinching could help. As such, it became a pure Psybeam VS Bite match… however, Qwerty was losing in the long run. While she was impressively keeping herself from flinching, Growlithe’s higher level meant his bites were doing more damage. Growlithe took a lot of damage from repeated Psybeams, too, but Growlithe looked like he was taking this battle. Not to mention, Allan was retrieving another Pokéball.
‘I’m sad. We had such a good thing going,’ Allan, commented, glaring at Valen.
Things were going even worse for Vivia, who had sent a bug to deal with a bird. Mia’s Ducklett sent Venonat flying with a single Wing Attack, causing Venonat to fly way off and Vivia to flinch backwards.
‘What, is that it? After that little shout about taking my challenge in turn for your friend, THAT’S what you attack me with?’ Mia asked, sounding condescending. ‘I’d laugh, but honestly all I feel is pity.’
‘Ducklett!’ the duck called, looking similarly confident.
'Gh, I…!' Vivia took put a second Pokéball… except yeah, that was Scraggy’s Pokéball, Skylar might know. Fighting-type, when the opponent was flying. It wasn’t really the best of match-ups. She had tried to send out Rotom… but at a time when Rotom might be needed, the electric ghost was bothering the shopkeeper for souvenirs over there, possessing his cash-register and spitting money out all over over there so the man had to gather it all again. She threw a bit of a panicked look in Rotom’s direction, and then at Skylar. She clearly hadn’t thought this through.
Princess flew around to throw a Gust into Castform’s face, who spun out of control for a bit but returned with a Powder Snow move it was hiding somewhere. Hit with it, Princess took some heavy damage, but still held herself in the game. That's when Erza maybe switched Pokémon, if so add a bunch of additional damage from some Water Guns on that Pokémon. Regardless, the result should be the same.
Otherwise, Princess flew in for a Tackle and hit Castform back for additional damage, which pulled the Castform to return with another Powder Snow. Unfortunately, this caused too much damage, freezing Princess’s wings and causing her to fall and faint, but Erza was able to throw and hit with a Pokéball at this time. The little water-drop cloud was absorbed into the ball with a red light, after which it fell onto the ground beneath it.
It shook once. It shook twice. It shook thri-

New Pokémon caught! Erza earned 2500 P!
Would you like to give a nickname to Castform?
With that, Erza was free to continue adventuring.
…
‘HOLD IT!’ A voice shouted, and a human suddenly descended at high speed from one of the nearby trees. The girl that bent her knees to absorb the impact had red hair, an angry frown, and was looking with rather fierce determination at Erza. She was wearing a pretty telling ninja/martial arts uniform.
With her, she had a group of three Pokémon, which all landed behind her as she faced Erza. Her Pokémon was a small blue frog with one hand on the floor which also was frowning determinately forward at Erza, a humanoid baby-like creature in a yoga-pose floating a foot over the ground and a weasel that took an exceedingly similar pose to its trainer.
Pokédex Entry #656 – Froakie, the Bubble Frog Pokémon. It secretes flexible and delicate bubbles from its chest and back which absorb damage that would otherwise damage it. While it is known for a happy-go-lucky attitude, it has astute awareness of its surroundings.
Pokédex Entry #307 – Meditite, the Meditate Pokémon. It is found deep in mountains, meditating for hours on end and surviving on a berry a day. It trains its spirit, and by heightening its inner strength it somehow achieved levitation. It also enjoys daily yoga workouts.
Pokédex Entry #619 – Mienfoo, the Martial Arts Pokémon. While not very strong, it’s very fast and has mastered the art of elegant combos using claws to increase damage. As it concentrates, it grows in speed and efficiency. They have a tendency to start acting like their trainer’s personal body-guards.
‘That Castform stole something of mine. I was hunting it in order to retrieve the item. Give it back to me. Castform should be holding it.’
‘Chandelure…!’ Chandelure announced, more than happy to get out of here as quick as physically possible. They turned and escaped, Chandelure sending out numerous Flame Bursts to clear the way of any Gourgeists that placed themselves in the way. The Trevenants watched silently, but never interfered with Eryn’s escape out of the woods. Soon the Gourgeists stopped trying to follow, and they were back into the Deep Infested Woods.
Here, Chandelure released another Inferno, clearing a path through the Dustox poison clouds so they could run through. While they had to watch out for more Dustox on the way, they were soon able to get back into True Infested Woods.
True Infested Woods
Even here, Chandelure proved invaluable, as the chandelier Pokémon led Eryn so she didn’t walk right under a Pineco tree where Pineco’s would surely fall down on her and explode, he burned through some Ariados web, and they went on. However, for some reason the chill hadn’t entirely left Eryn. They were still travelling through the tight woods of True Infested Woods… when suddenly Chandelure spun around. There was rustling among the bushes behind them. They had been followed.
Assumingly, Eryn or her Pokémon would at least spin around to maybe catch a glimpse of the one which was following her, and…
… Eryn found herself staring at herself. A complete replica of herself, down to the smallest detail of what she was wearing, gave Eryn a smile from over there. That wasn’t the only similarity. Like Eryn, she had a party of three Pokémon with her, one of which was held to her chest… though it wasn’t the same three. In fact, two of them were ghosts and one was a bug. A Phantump floated on the right of her head, a remarkably large Pumpkaboo stood to the left of her feet, and in her hands she held the oval pinkish form of a Cascoon.
Pokédex Entry #708 – Phantump, the Stump Pokémon. Said to be stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died lost in forests. Found mainly in lonely forests where humans don’t tread, they can lead humans astray with their eerie cries that imitate a human child’s. The leaves on its head are said to have healing properties.
Pokédex Entry #710 – Pumpkaboo, the Pumpkin Pokémon. A pumpkin body inhabited by spirits trapped in this world. It is said to carry such wandering spirits to where they belong so they can move on. They turn restless at night. They comes in many varying sizes, from 7 lbs to over 30.
Pokédex Entry #268 – Cascoon, the Cocoon Pokémon. It’s protected by hardened silk around its body. All its cells generate energy for evolution. Until then, it will not move, even if attacked. It has perfect memory, and after evolution it will seek payback against those who hurt it as Cascoon.
The last without spikes right now, they do have the ability to pull those in.
Eryn(?) smiled, a happy, proud and maybe slightly mischievous smile, looking towards Eryn. She held a hand up towards Chandelure… and then waved four fingers horizontally in the universal gesture for “out of the way”. Eryn(?) then proceeded to point towards Eryn, the happy look that mimicked when Eryn herself looked happy now changing to a confident, challenging look.
‘Phantump!’ Phantump called, floating forth and placing itself in front of Eryn(?), like a Pokémon following the command of her trainer.
Pokémon Trainer Eryn(?) would like to battle!
… What would Eryn do?
Phantump will start out with Confuse Ray and then just Astonish for all its worth. If the opponent recovers from Confusion, another Confuse Ray.
Pumpkaboo will ALSO Confuse Ray, then do Trick-or-Treat, making its enemy a Ghost type. From there, Astonish.
Cascoon will start out with Harden, then Poison Sting. … Unless it faces Dei, in which case it’ll have no use of Harden, it’ll just go Poison Sting. If the enemy becomes poisoned, switch to Tackle.
‘…’ Lea stood silently when Kimble showed up from who knows where, instead of staying on the other side of the city and defending against storms as commanded. … Nope, Lea lost interest. Too nosy. Controlled by whims. Far too flighty to be a suitable companion. Lea closed the phone and put it away, lest the one she spoke to would have her voice be revealed. The elfin Magical Girl was less than impressed by the action of having a cheek rubbed against hers. The notion to sting her for this breach of personal space occurred to her, but the possible ramification of something that could be interpreted as a hostile act made such an action not worth it. Fortunately, it seemed Kimble was all too whimsical to continue wondering who Lea had been talking about for longer.
‘… If you desire her affection, then telling her directly is an effective method,’ Lea told Kimble about Alicia. ‘This forces her to become aware of you. Even if the notion initially displeases her, doing it as soon as possible means she’ll have more time to consider it and she will feel like she has to consider you before selecting another.’
Sure, what Kimble talked about may not have been romance, but the advice stuck. Regardless…
‘What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to control the storm on the other side?’ Lea asked, even as she swung a hand to send a wave of wind to counter another nearby tornado. The rain, though… she couldn’t do anything about the rain.
Mayra blinked as Tonya descended. Oooh, she came down herself? Mayra wasn’t occupied with that the slime balloon was attacking her, instead she was faced with that Tonya turned and headed for her at great speed, greater than Mayra could achieve. Mayra smirked, her tail swinging. Tonya didn’t know. How unfortunate for her. Want to fight Mayra up close?
‘YEAH, COME AND GET ME!’ Mayra laughed as she launched herself happily towards the incoming Tonya. She noticed the wind, so instead she charged her fire into her own body, her whole monstrous body being a conduit for magic (fists/mystic dual weapon), allowing her limbs to heat up to temperatures where they glowed with searing heat as Mayra flew off to meet Tonya’s charge. Tonya was defended by her umbrella weapon, and as Mayra headed for it she was impaling herself…
Except that’s where Mayra turned immaterial for a second. For Mayra’s a Fire & Dark specialized Magical Girl, allowing for some tricks from both. The momentarily intangible Mayra grinned, passing straight through the umbrella and intending on reshaping herself just on the other side of Tonya’s weapon…
‘Cha-HO!’ Mayra called as she swung her arm, intending on passing on Tonya’s left as to avoid being impaled upon reformation and having her left super-heated arm slam into Tonya’s face at the speed of both of these speedy individuals charging towards one another. The intention was to slam her arm into Tonya at a downwards angle, carrying her along to then slam her into the ground, decking her with monster-fueled strength in a super-heated arm. The moments that followed would tell if Tonya had the ability to avoid something she probably didn’t see coming. … And if Tonya managed to dodge, Mayra might still swing her tail to attempt hitting her after the dodge, far weaker than her arm would be, but still.
If the arm intended to deck her did hit, Mayra’d swing around to face her opponent again and comment ‘And how’s THAT!?’ with a wide grin. If she failed, Mayra might still swing around, depends on if she got countered or not.
Mariette stood in a building with a window facing the graveyard. She had a blank expression, her left arm clutching a stuffed bunny and her right fingers playing with a platinum coin. She could feel the presence of another horror, all the way from here. If that one escaped, and this world was doomed to be his… that’d put an end to Asengav’s plans for this world, too. That was less than desirable. Of course, Asengav didn’t really need this world, per say, he could pick virtually any other… but he had picked this one. Not sure why, he just had. That made it somewhat important to stop whatever was going on.
Mariette looked down at her platinum coin. She had been holding off on using it. The reasoning for this was that, should a crisis situation emerge, she’d have a platinum coin at hand she could use it and gain almost whatever she needed in order to solve the crisis. If she had to get Get Out of Jail for some reason? Deal. … Things like that. However, it occurred to her now that it may be better to already hold the power, to be practiced with it before the situation occurred, to know all the ins and outs of the power she’d gain. It also allowed her to be ready for sudden surprises without needing to spend time fiddling with a platinum coin. There were two sides to this, pros and cons to using the coin. Hm.
Though, hadn’t she already basically decided what she wanted? Also, she might have to fight a horror in a moment.
‘… Oh, well,’ Mariette figured, as she grasped the platinum coin into her palm with a firm grip, and released its power.
Numerous hard-fought levels later, Erza switched his team to train the next party-members, Princess and Hunter. Both of them served well in conflict with Budew, on account of resistance against Absorb, but Princess would suffer initially against other similarly levelled Pokémon in the wild until she got experience. Fortunately, that's exactly what they were here to get!
Hunter grew to Level 9! Hunter learned Leer!
Princess grew to Level 11! Princess learned Gust!
Hunter took some damage battling wild Pokémon, but otherwise he was fine. Princess had taken noticeably more damage, but Erza healed her right up with potions. And at the end of that, he still had a full health Pidgey now. It was raining pretty well by now, and they were battling the wild Pokémon at the forests next to Route 11, and-
And a sudden Water Gun flew and hit Princess from a range, causing damage and was an obvious sneak attack.
Behind some trees, a Pokémon giggled and hid. It was a Pokémon shaped like a tuft of floating cloud, with big eyes and a wide smile. But most notably, the head of it was wrapped inside a large raindrop of water, but was that truly it’s natural shape?
Though the Pokédexed showed…
Pokédex Entry #351 – Castform, the Weather Pokémon. It has the ability to change its cellular structure to adapt to weather conditions, changing its type to take maximum advantage of the current surroundings. By channeling the weather, it gains the power needed to protect its tiny body.
‘Castform~!’ Castform told teasingly, apparently thinking the Water Gun was hilarious.
… And there was the rare Pokémon of Route 11.
Erza’s actions?
1. Find Pokémon. Can be specified what kind of Pokémon is being searched for, and how you search. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Seek trainers. There should be some trainers among those walking back and forth in the area. 4. Talk. There’s plenty of travellers around. Maybe seek answers to any burning questions you have. 5. Move along. Move along normally, letting any events that may come happen naturally. 6. Hurry along. Intentionally avoid confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 7. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 8. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 9. Area Specific: Explore Buildings. There’s abandoned buildings. Why not have a look? 10. Erza Specific: Shiny Blitzle. It should still be out there somewhere!
Connected areas: Redcoast City. Right behind you. Rainrock City. Requires crossing Route 11, but it’s a pretty well-travelled and safe road. Route 12. Requires crossing Route 11 on the way north, also pretty well-travelled. Pokéball Factory. A turn east on the path north should bring you there.
Delphox had already ran off after Laurinda, it was impossible to ask if she was alright with it on account that she didn’t stay to chat after pushing it all onto Chandelure.
‘Chandelure...’ Chandelure said, sounding worried. Still, it was apparently what was decided here. Soooooo, heading deeper it was.
Eryn attempted to move deeper, probably avoiding the Dustox as best she could, but almost immediately she found some amount of Dustox passing above her spreading their Poison Powder. It did look grim, until…
‘CHANDELURE!’ Chandelure shouted out as he directed multiple of its “limbs” into the air… and a MASSIVE plume of fire erupted, sprouting outwards and clutching together like a venus trap of fire around the offending poison. The flames soared and burned, scattering Dustoxes and lighting up the night in the forest for the briefest of moments. That, was the Fire-type move Inferno, clearing a path for them to move deeper into the forest… and leaving numerous trees on fire as Chandelure hurried along. No problem, though. This forest can totally handle itself.
Chandelure kept throwing the occasional fireballs around at closing offenders as the area they were heading for kept growing darker and darker. They were approaching the deepest reaches of Infested Woods. Soon enough… the trees around them started to look less and less alive.
Wilted Woods
Trees decayed. The distance between each tree grew further, and on the ground only the most stallworth of grass still grew, like parasites latching onto the trees and roots. A mist eternally covers these woods, brightening the distance up in white yet prohibiting further view. The life was gone from the trees, no bugs inhabited these woods naturally. Yet, walking in this area one cannot shake the feeling. You’re being watched. Something is watching you. You won’t escape this place alone. Now, perhaps more than any other time, is a fortunate time to be protected by Pokémon.
Yet further in, a presence can be felt. There’s something inside the Wilted Woods, something that feels like it is taking on the life all around it. You need not be a medium to feel it, the sense is all-encompassing. This has to be the reason why the trees around here are dying, and it feels like should you remain in this wood for too long, the same will happen to you. Now, you can feel EXACTLY in which direction you have to go in order to get to the presence… but do you really want to…?
As they walked deeper into Wilted Woods, Chandelure looked around constantly, the chandelier looking honestly worried about where they were heading in. No Pokémon sighted yet, other than the ominous feeling of something close by. Also…
… That was a song. A song sounded out from around them, a melody sounding cheerful yet hollow all at the same time. Sounds coursed in between the trees, eerie tunes causing hairs to rise and a feeling of coldness spreading through one’s body, as if touched by death. It was as if the song itself wanted to part spirit from body among the living. The source of this was the spirits hanging around here and there within the Wilted Woods, announcing their ill will.
‘CHANDEL-!’ Chandelure called, spinning around and sending a Flame Burst straight into the body of a ghost that Eryn hadn’t even noticed was coming close. The ghost spun, burned by the flames as its song ended, but more songs could be heard in the distance. In addition, as Eryn and her Pokémon looked around, it turned out some of the supposedly dead trees had eyes. And they were looking at them.
Pokédex Entry #711 – Gourgeist, the Pumpkin Pokémon. It is a malevolent Pokémon that catches prey with its hair-like arms and sings joyfully as it causes pain to its victims. Under new moons, they take to wandering city streets while singing in eerie voices. Anyone who hears their song is cursed. They come in varying sizes, from 20 lbs to over 80.
Pokédex Entry #709 – Trevenant, the Elder Tree Pokémon. Using its roots to connect to the trees around it, a Trevenant can manipulate trees at will. They’re known to protect the creatures inside the forests where they dwell, and trap those who’d do harm upon the forest.
There was quite an amount of Gourgeists floating about in these woods, and some had started circling them on a range where they’d learned Chandelure wouldn’t attack them. Other than that, it was nearly impossible to determine if a tree was a Trevenant or not until you got way too close. That said…
‘Hey!’ A little voice of a male child called, it’s tone strikingly innocent. ‘This way!’ Another, female-sounding child’s voice called, directing towards deeper into the woods.
Now, this would perhaps be the time one would be confused why they’d be hearing the voices of kids out here… hopefully Eryn had the sense to point her Pokédex in the direction.
… Other than that, Eryn might be startled by a sudden noise of something moving about within the woods in a mass. Over there, there was a whole bunch of Pokémon moving as a group, small lights lit within them ensuring they could be seen, heading from who knows where towards who could say…
‘Ch-chandelure…’ … Eryn’s protector was sounding scared, looking about at encircling Gourgeists and the different trees that could be Trevenants.
There was something odd about entirely expecting something and still being somehow caught by it. Naja had expected something to emerge from his hand, that’s why she had jabbed at it. To force it out. Yet, somehow, he had intercepted and completely countered her jab, the fastest and most defensive thing in her arsenal, and used it against her. It was… somewhat confusing to be sent flying by that.
As she stopped her flight with her feet a few meters away, her back aching as she stumbled. It really reminded her of the first time she had met her Baji Quan master. Yeah, that’s why she had gone to China in the first place, hadn’t it been? She had mastered Savate, she could floor her masters at her dojo the majority of the time, and yet she had felt she wasn’t strong enough. That’s why young Nika had gone to China, despite not knowing a lick of Mandarin, asked someone who knew English to direct her to the strongest they had, and to that particular individual the strongest was Baji Quan. She had been directed to a master, and he had immediately floored her Savate, not unlike now.
… No, not like now. After what her master had done to her, she hadn’t been able to stand. Heh, it was somewhat nostalgic, this feeling. Reminded of many hours with a master who didn't speak her language, of having the movements hit into her by demonstration without any spoken words. … She had never been able to overcome that master. She’d been targeted while still training in China, and that’s when she lost her limbs. Then she gained these metal limbs, and she had never seen her master again. … She probably should go visit him occasionally. He may be disappointed in how she’d ended up, but if it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have been able to use this chi today. She’d only have had her Savate…
‘Okichitaw, huh?’ Naja mentioned, turning back to face Pacho. His use of tomahawk and mention of the cardinal directions had tipped the scale. ‘A proud style, one I wouldn’t have expected to see serving the likes of a common street gang. Should I ask who you all are, or why you’re serving them?’ Naja asked, not really expecting an answer from Pacho. Honestly, it was just a style she had read about a while ago, one of many styles she’d gone through as candidates for her to practice. It wasn’t as if she knew the in and outs of it well enough to predict his movements. Regardless. If Pacho did speak a response, she’d wait for him to finish. Otherwise… it was time to move. While she felt the place she'd been hit, it wasn't as if she was out for the count.
Savate was out. Pacho had in a single motion shut down everything she had at that range. With other words, it was time to practice some Baji Quan, which philosophy about defense was that the solution to not taking damage was taking out the opponent as quickly as possible. A short-range but powerful art, it utilized all those grapples to get close to the opponent and then used these full-body powerful strikes, elbows or knees to neutralize them. It was time to show that she hadn’t wasted her master’s time.
Naja ran at Pacho, her mind constantly predicting what motions he could make with that pose in order to strike at her with mystical unseen weapons or similar. The intention was to intercept his blow, dodge the attack and grab the offending (or unoffending if he didn’t try to attack) limb, after which she’d attempt to use cyborg strength to twist his arm around to turn him away from her. Should she accomplish that much, it was simply a matter of spinning to slam an elbow into his back with the other arm for the trouble.
She was charging a Bolstered Spear during this, so if she was successful she could spin around and shoot him in the back with it… or if something went horribly wrong and she was about to be countered again she had it ready to use as a blast to counter whatever Pacho was doing, hopefully.
‘Old man,’ Chatot repeated from the beginning of Joshua’s speech.
‘Hm?’ Roderick came to a stop as Joshua decided to stand in his way. The old man made a dramatic gesture of bending his head back and placing a hand before his eyes. ‘Ack, that is such a shame!’
‘Such a shame!’ … Copied the Chatot.
‘That you be so taken by such prejudices and simply assume that we’re some form of crooks! I had hoped better of you, but alas,’ he removed his hand and looked back towards Joshua with a seemingly friendly but sad smile. ‘You seem to not be from around here, so let me tell you. Team Virtue is an upstanding organization following a set of instructions passed along from our ancestors about all the dangers of this land, some too dangerous to let the public know about. We were operating from the shadows under no name, until the havoc brought by Team Amethyst forced us into the light due to the necessity to recruit an army to counter them. One of these threats await us within the tomb…’ … and he shook his head a bit.
‘… And I’m afraid any regular trainer will not be able to calm him. Each second you delay us, you’re letting him regain his strength. Should he get out, he’ll spread fear and horror throughout the land once more, and it’s simply not something we’re willing to risk. We will seal him back. Perhaps we will look into a more permanent solution after we are done, but for now… You will not stand in our way.’
‘Will not!’ … Repeated the Chatot.
‘Ivory! Oscar! Seek alternative methods of entrance! Dig your way through if you so need to! Oscar, don’t forget that this all hinges on you! Take groups 2 through 5 with you!’ Roderick said. Behind him, the majority of the troops started moving out to stand behind Ivory and Oscar. Ivory frowned.
‘And leave you here alone?’ Ivory asked, looking unconvinced. Roderick gave but a smirk.
‘This man has the strength of an Elite Four member. Do not underestimate him. Out of our forces, only I can take him on,’ Roderick said.
‘I can take him on!’ … The Chatot called in Roderick’s voice, enthusiastically.
‘Don’t forget our mission,’ Roderick told them.
‘Hmpf, understood,’ Ivory acknowledged, turning to the forces and addressing them. ‘This way!’
‘Alas, the whims of fate has called to conflict…’ Oscar told, one hand reaching up to stroke the Pokéball in the tip of his staff. ‘We shall make our way to where we’re needed. St. Roderick, I wish you the best of luck,’
Roderick nodded to his companions, then took out a number of Pokéballs. ‘Now, are we going to have a battle following the rules of engagement or are you going to stand in that corner blocking me with all your Pokémon at once?’ With that, Roderick dropped numerous Pokéballs, from which emerged…
So, three Pokémon took shape, to engage with Joshua’s Pokémon.
‘So, let us dance, shall we?’
Team Virtue Leader Roderick would like to battle!
… And I am also 100% feeling like this epic battle can take place off-screen, because this is extra effort and would take forever to play out, but heh.
Amelia’s “father” flinched when suddenly a bunch of ghost-Pokémon emerged. He looked on somewhat stunned as Litwick called a wall of flames to surround him, and then grunted as the rest stood to her defense. Then, Amelia attempted to think, to convey her thoughts to the entity that was creating this, the being that was…
‘Why, you…’ her father said, frowning and gripping the chains. ‘IT’S NOT IN YOUR PLACE TO SPEAK TO ME!’ he shouted out, using her father’s voice as she remembered it, when suddenly a wave of energy shot out from him and scattered the flames. The blast sent Litwick back to Amelia due to the sheer power of it, all the furniture in the room rocking as thoughts dark as the blackest night sky surged through the room. Amelia’s father had just used Dark Pulse to blast through Fire Spin. He looked to her, frowning.
‘… Stay asleep, Amelia,’ he told her. ‘Be a good girl and sleep. Have a nightmare, so I may feed on it. I need your energy before I need your comfort. Whatever you try, it’s too late. She is already here. My captor is here to seal me away again.’ With those words, he snapped his fingers. With that, numerous beings flashed into existence behind him, punctuated with a flash of lightning outside the window. Behind him, numerous gemstones floated in the air… eyes. With grins under them.
Pokédex Entry #302 – Sableye, the Darkness Pokémon. They live quiet lives in dark caves where they dig for their favorite food, raw gems. These gems surface on their eyes as glittering jewels. They tend to be feared, for it is said that those who meet with these glittering eyes in a dark cave have their spirits stolen away.
The shadowy creatures jumped forth, aiming numerous Astonishes at Amelia’s frontline. Four of them, so one on Phantump, Drifloon, Pumpkaboo and Litwick respectively, with Shuppet occupied eating Amelia’s fear.
‘Stay asleep, Amelia,’ he repeated again, reaching the hand with chains forward towards her, and advanced again. ‘It’s the best thing you can do to help me. I worry too much about you. The best thing you could do would be nothing at all.’
… So he says.
Actions?
Keep in mind, this is a dream. The capabilities of your Pokémon is not necessarily tied to their level!
Aegislash slowed down when Dawkin stated his no-nonsense defense and Greninja also spoke to their defense, outlining the situation before dashing off.
‘Aegislash,’ Aegislash stated.
‘I was hasty. You appear to speak the truth. Very well. I shall rouse the rest of the ghost of this tomb to assist in our defense,’ so Aegislash said, before turning to Gengar and Cofagrigus, and…
‘Esteemed inhabitants of this tomb! I request that in this time of need we put aside our differences, and-’
‘What’s this sucka talkin’ about?’
‘No idea, but he lookin’ like a tool to me!’
‘…’
‘Oh, for the love of-’
‘’’right, listen up, pussies! Ousa homeboys in danger, so we niggas betta stick togetha and hold of the bitches tryan’a take our rockin’ tomb!’
‘Ye, now you talkin’ my bitch-ass language!!’
‘Ye, sure, we’ll be pals until we’ve schooled these new punk-ass bitches!’
‘Ma niggas! Now, let’s go clobber these punks!’
‘… *EXTENSIVE SIGH*’
And so, for the moment, Aegislash, his boy, the Golurks, Cofagrigus and Gengar left to gather forces for a possible Team Virtue invasion from other directions. This left Dawkin in place, with a couple of Yamasks floating about inspecting him and the sleeping Amelia. There’s a certain chance she was making a mildly troubled expression in her sleep, though her player can veto that if she likes.
That’s when the child by the doorway came out and approached Dawkin, her expression neutral and her hands behind her back.
‘It would appear you’ve been left alone,’ the girl said, looking at Dawkin. She looked down at Amelia. ‘I was put to sleep as well, so I got the chance to speak with this master. “Speak” is a frivolous term, more like attempt making sense of the mess he was shouting at me. However, I was given a vision and he then woke me up. Do you fight for him, now?’ So she asked, tilting her head slightly at him.
‘If you’d like to help stop this battle, I leave you two possible options. The whole reason this turning so violent is because the master’s rival seeks to seal or destroy him. She’s in a Pokéball, tied to the spire of one of the invaders. Steal the Pokéball and talk to the entity within. Should you do that, you can avert the whole situation. I warn, the man holding it is strong enough to contend in the Pokémon League. The situation might go better if you collect a certain mystic item from the Mythic Oasis, which will make her kinder towards you… but even with my friend’s help, that could take far too long. Still, you can borrow my friend if you’d like to try it. He can’t fight, but he CAN transport you.’ So she said, taking out a Pokéball and letting out the contents. Next to her formed a yellow mildly fox-like humanoid creature with lines for eyes, which may or may not be asleep.
Pokédex Entry #63 – Abra, the Psi Pokémon. Due to the strain of Psychic powers, it needs to sleep for 18 hours a day. However, even asleep it can use its powers, which reads the minds of beings close-by and teleports instinctively if it finds someone hostile. Someone wishing to catch an Abra must clear their mind as they approach.
‘The second option is to actually go to the master’s chamber. From there, we can see what we can do to help. He’d be able to hear you from there, so if you think something you could say could help, then that would be the place to do so. He’s still being weakened by something, which is why he needs to gain power from sleeping people, so we could try to find what that is and do something about it, potentially. That, and that’s also a place to mount the last defense if the master is attacked by something. Though, there’s also a chance the master may attack you for intruding. Maybe. I’m out of Pokémon, other than my friend here. I can’t do much. What will you do? I could look after your friend. Or you could carry her along. Or I could. She probably needs to stay close to the master to keep contact with him, though.’
And that was a whole bunch of words. But, yes, he’s now in a tomb that was about to end up under siege and who knows what’d happen beyond that. What would Dawkin do?
Out of all of them, it was Sam who stood up behind her and did a similar pose to that of her own, just much larger, her in his shadow. Naja blew out a bit out of her nose. This amused her, just a tad. Still, it appeared it was her and Sam. No words needed to be exchanged, they knew what to do. Honestly, she looked forward to experiencing fighting side by side with this giant man.
Hm, so their enemies were going to pick their opponents? Questionable, but alright. Suppose she could play along. Naja frowned a bit as Pacho picked her. Did he do so because he was interested in fighting her, or just because he didn’t want to fight Sam? … Suppose it didn’t make much of a difference. Starting to lightly jump on her heavy metal feet, Naja turned to him in a fighting stance of her own, turned with her left towards him, both hands raised and legs ready to lash out.
‘…’ She could have talked, really. Most assuredly would have if she was facing O-Chul. But this man, as Naja inspected his odd stance and silent persona… suppose they’d do their talking with their limbs. This man held his limbs like if he held a weapon. Naja knew enough to figure she should probably treat him like he actually was. Now, Naja had plenty of grappling techniques from baji quan to neutralize an opponent coming for her with a weapon, but until she knew what he’d do she’d go with the more long-ranged savate style.
To begin with, let’s box his hand. Naja approached from the front and boxed forward at the hand. If he was starting to counter, then she’d be pulling back or attempt countering herself with her grapples. If he started guarding then it was time for another punch at his face and then for a swift kick to his midsection with her left leg while she stood on her right. If he did something unexpected, then she’d deal with it then. It all depended on his reactions.
