Thanks to the work of the PRT soldiers that had been stationed nearby, and the speedy work of the various heroes, the last of the civilians had been evacuated outside the concert hall with the group escorted by Margrave. As his little fangirl was rushed to a relatively safe distance, she cried out, "Thank you, you're amazing!" A sentiment that was echoed by the other civilians. Still, they weren't out of danger yet. Ceramix could do a lot of damage with that large stone suit of his. The soldiers kept them all moving along further from the danger zone, but for the moment everyone was safe and the heroes could now put 100% of their focus on containing the threat.

"Hermes, this is Decoy," the tinker spoke through the teleporter's comm device. "There are some PRT holding vehicles that were brought in today just in case. I've uploaded their locations to your holographic interface. It should help you save travel distance."

By now most of the Rockers thugs had been taken care of. Only about five remained, not including those brainwashed by Mastar, but it would still be a good idea to get the unconscious criminals out of harm's way. A titanic battle was going down, and if things failed to go perfectly the collateral would be horrible.

"Epsilon, disengage from any contact with the stranger. We have more pressing matters. If you feel confident you can neutralize Ceramix's power, take the chance. Otherwise, see about helping Hermes clear out these bad guys." Inkscape took the opportunity himself to disengage from the golem, seeing as how it was under heavy assault from multiple big sources, in order to focus on telekinetically lifting numerous thugs off the ground and out of danger.

Meanwhile, Ceramix had engaged with no less than six different heroes at once. Outsider was in the process of grappling the stone giant, while Mastar had successfully managed to mount his huge arm. Messiah and Kyoshi were double-teaming the giant's legs with their own abilities, while Angel was content to bring him crashing down from the top. It was difficult for the tar-breaker to maintain a grip on the rock-suit as it struggled against Outsider, but against all odds she managed to keep ahold of it. On the ground-level side of things, the double-team of Kyoshi and Messiah was causing serious damage to the rock-suit's legs. The titanic fighter buckled down onto its knees, while Furnace came running back inside. Seeing the situation, he immediately dove next to Messiah's heat beam and dialed down the temperature drastically. The ambient heat, which would have caused everyone to dehydrate and receive minor burns, was now being taken care of while the searing ray still had its intended effect on the target.

Now on his knees, Ceramix lost his ground in the grapple with Outsider. Now completely unable to fight back, the stone suit went immobile, leading to the perfect opportunity for Angel to come crashing down on the suit's head. Stone cracked beneath the breaker's weight, and within the suit itself Ceramix was knocked for a loop as well. Everything appeared to be perfectly posed for Outsider's charging kinetic blast...

BOOM!

Rocks exploded out from the stone giant's chest. Something inside was getting out! The dust prevented most from being able to properly see what had happened, but Outsider felt a strong blow against his kinetic barrier, strong enough to completely shatter it in an instant. The force knocked him back a bit, releasing the tentacles on one of the stone giant's arms. Ceramix immediately followed up the opportunity by slamming his fist right into Outsider's would-be-face, knocking the bizarre alien-like hero across the concert hall and into the wall. The impact caused the whole building to shake violently. Outsider's kinetic blast had been interrupted, and fizzled out.

Bouncing up from the dust and into view was the answer everyone was looking for, the cause of this sudden turn of events: Shatterpoint, the Rockers second in command and far far more dangerous than his boss. A split second before Tulpa's projection teleported in with a shockwave, Shatterpoint flipped back behind the stone giant's head, avoiding the shockwave. He took the opportunity to jab a quick blow into Angel's side, then slid down the giant to safety. He applied every ounce of his brute power strength to that blow, and targeted it for maximum damage. If Angel hasn't been in her dense form at the time, it was likely all her bones would have shattered.

"Shatterpoint has been located!" shouted Inkscape. "He is now priority number one! Converge, everyone! Inkscape moved to intercept the Rockers' second, as did Noble and Furnace, but Shatterpoint slipped through their formation before it had even tightened around him. His thinker ability was a great deal of trouble.

"I've got him!" G4M3R cried out, taking aim with his blaster and firing. In response Shatterpoint threw his own stone helmet, blocking the blaster bolt and destroying G4M3R's ray gun in a single move.

"I'm here!" Protean announced through the comms. The shapeshifter arrived through the front doors held aloft on wings, having taken the form of a gryphon.

"As a reminder," Decoy began speaking, "Shatterpoint is registered as a brute 4, and thinker 7. According to what we know, his power allows him to see the weakest point in anything from a large structure to the human body, up to and including military formations. He will constantly adapt and move to avoid being in a disadvantageous position, and is fully capable of taking out nearly anybody present in a single strike. Use extreme caution."

Benito stood silently still, not addressing Headhunter's question. The man was concentrating, highly deep in thought to the point of blocking out all outside stimuli. He grasped at the air where the glass once was, but felt nothing. It was simply gone. Closing his eyes, the Italian took a deep breath in, then slowly exhaled. He grabbed the air once again, only this time he felt solid glass against his flesh. When Benito opened his eyes, he held the glass of water once again like it hadn't gone anywhere. "Fascinating..." he mumbled.

Meanwhile, the man calling himself Broker continued to address everyone who remained in the room. He barely bat an eye when Whipstitch hurried out in a fit. Honestly it was to be expected that someone wouldn't take the situation very well. He was willing to work with the hand dealt. "Healer, yes? Of Lethal Force? I have only done exactly what I already stated: Powers designed to affect anybody outside of yourself have been temporarily neutralized. Please, do learn to pay attention." He then turned his attention to the representative of the Rockers.

"Creep, was it? You raise some good points. A very astute young..." He gave pause, trying to measure her up in order to assume her gender. "Woman," he eventually concluded, going off of her body size. The voice modulator did not help matters. "Such risks have been taken into consideration and I have the utmost faith that Patriarch does have at least one spy present. However they will not be learning anything they do not already know. After Patriarch's power was leaked to the public they have already been preparing to be assaulted on all fronts. Suffice it to say, this coalition never had the chance of a sneak attack. As for wanting to claim the vials for himself, that goes without saying, which is why I will be ensuring you all have your purchases today, well in advance of payment if necessary. Once they've been split up amongst your groups, you will be able to give them to your people immediately, and Patriarch will be unable to steal them back."

"Steal them back?" Sabotage interjected, rising up a bit from her seat. "You mean to tell me these used to belong to The Community? And you stole them from Patriarch?" Her voice was more inquisitive than accusatory.

The man in the suit nodded affirmative. "Truth be told I can sell powers all day, but these vials specifically were, shall we say, liberated from The Community. I did not like the idea of what Patriarch would do with my product, so I issued a recall." He gave a rather smarmy and self-indulgent grin.

"Then you are already on Patriarch's hit list," mused Purge, folding his fingers together, musing in thought. "Which means your attendance here has more to do with pitting the rest of us against your enemy, to secure your own safety. I am more than willing to work with anybody as an equal, but I do not appreciate being used."

The man shook his head. "Not at all. Truthfully, I'm not worried about Patriarch coming after me whatsoever. The personal damage he can do to me is nil. It is the misuse of my product and his overgrown influence in this city that I am concerned with. Nothing more."

Purge nodded his head, apparently placated for the moment, though the featureless white mask he wore admittedly made that sort of gauge difficult to measure.

"Now then, six vials and two have already been claimed by the Rockers and Reflections. That leaves Lethal Force, the mafia, Sabotage, Retcon, and the Jacks. Who will miss on the opportunity to take one?" He feigned bewilderment, holding his index finger to the forehead in a faux-thinking gesture. "Since I didn't receive my invitation, I'll have to deny the Jacks any rights to my vials. Now the basics that you will need to understand is that these vials do not function on anybody who already has powers. If anybody in this room drinks one, it will be a complete and utter waste, so don't think that you can double up on abilities. It will never happen. Second, there is a chance of mutation, so these vials do not come without risk. The imbiber might become a monstrous parahuman in appearance. This is a risk. Third, make certain they drink the entire vial. Incomplete ingestion can lead to some... Very nasty results. Fourth, there is no way of knowing for certain what powers will result from these vials. It is a gamble, but one with very high rewards. We can discuss payment after the fact. Is everyone understanding and accepting of the potential risks and rewards?"
8 days have passed since the announcement that we need a new character to fill in for the Jacks. With a 2 week deadline, we have 6 days left. 2 existing characters have been pushed forward for consideration and 0 new characters have been created. I was hoping to have more competition for a main story character by now, but maybe submissions will come in toward the back end of things. Regardless, 6 days left everyone.
Two men stood at the center of the hall, ready for the competition to begin. The officer of the Buccaneers, Dr. Maul, took hold of the rope with one hand, keeping his cane in the other. By direct contrast, the doctor of the Krunch Krew fumbled around with his rope for a good ten seconds before he got a hold of it. The laughter continued.

“Place your bets! Who will reach the ceiling first? Place your bets!” cried the gambling pirate.

“Ah, there’s no way this is even fair,” complained another pirate. “There’s no fun in betting in this contest. We all know what’s going to happen.”

Runch merely smiled in the face of such mockery. When directly addressed by Feya, he turned to address her back, any sign of worry completely missing from his expression and voice. ”My doctor is always inebriated! Omnomnomnom! It wasn’t just for the party we had earlier, miss Nelson. Wutong Ken has never once been sober in the time that I’ve known him, but he’s still never once let this crew down. Omnomnomnom!”

He turned his attention back to the floor below them. ”Many have underestimated him as some lowly vagabond, unfit and irresponsible, incapable of doing anything. What they do not realize, what it took me time to realize, is that while he may be drunk he possesses a clarity of mind unmatched. Instincts that never fail. He is drunk because one must be in order to be a master of the drunken fist!”

“Begin!” shouted both the referees in time with one another.

Maul put himself into an early lead, wasting no time in pulling himself directly up the rope one hand after the other. His climbing speed certainly was impressive, but it was clear he lacked the physical prowess of the Red Rums’ and Krunches’ real powerhouses, like Caesar, Feya, and Hachirou. If any of them had been facing down Maul instead, it likely wouldn’t even be a competition.

Still as it was, Maul was making great time, climbing the rope with his cane held between his teeth and his top hat remaining balanced on his head. He took a second to glance down at his competition, only to find that Ken had somehow gotten himself tangled up in the rope! Such a humorous sight it was to behold, as his right leg had somehow been tied up past his ear, his arms had crisscrossed along his back, and his left leg just kind of dangled in place.

“Hahahahahahaha!” laughed a Buccaneer, pointing directly at captain Runch. “And you were trying to put the fear of God into us over your crew mate! Hahahaha!”

”Disappointing that they wanted to waste my time with such a joke,” Maul sighed, giving pause in his climb. ”Still, one must not look a gift horse in the mouth. An easy victory for my crew.”

”Quit bein’ a dumbass honky an’ take it seriously, dammit!” Jo called out, firing a shot into the air to vent her frustration.

Hachirou’s ears twitched. ”He is about to make his move,” the man stated rather simply.

That’s when Ken began to swing in place, ever so slightly at first, but quickly gaining speed and momentum. Like a pendulum he moved back and forth. Then he spun around, unraveling from his rope-prison like the world’s most complicated yoyo! Faster and faster he spun, still swinging! The new torque had him swinging around in a circle as he unraveled.

”What is this?” Maul observed, intrigued by his opponent’s antics. Once he saw Ken’s rope spinning around him in circles, he received a sudden click of realization and began booking it up his rope again. More and more Ken’s rope wound around him, tightening, until he could escape it no more. The rope constricted around the doctor, preventing him from moving too much. In the same motion, the tip of Ken’s rope snapped upward. Having totally unraveled, he rose up through the air freely, almost making up all of the distance he had lost at the start!

Runch gestured toward the pirate taking bets. ”5,000 bellis on my mate, please! Omnomnom!” The pirate shrunk away, muttering about how betting was closed.

Meanwhile, Ken was in the process of climbing up the rope and had reached where he had ensnared his opponent. ”Shcuse me, hic! Coming frew.” he added politely, tugging himself up on Maul’s ankle, and stepping on his face heading upward.

“I don’t believe it!” cried one of the pirates. “He made it look so easy!”

“I don’t think he’s even aware of what he’s doing!” exclaimed another.

To his credit, Wutong Ken whistled merrily to himself as he leisurely climbed up, not a care (or sense of urgency) in the world. Behind his dark, round sunglasses, Maul narrowed his eyes in complete disdain for the drunken doctor that had just gotten such a tremendous advantage over him. ”Not today, ol’ chap,” he muttered through the cane between his teeth. The ensnared man jerked his head back, knocking his top hat off. Before it flopped down to the ground below, he managed to snatch it between two fingers on his left hand. With a little jerking and prodding, a small syringe fell out of the hat and into his palm.

Licking his lips in anticipation, joyful that he now had what he wanted, Maul dropped the hat and repositioned the syringe between his fingers. Without any ceremony, he jabbed it into his side and pressed the plunger down hard.

“He’s doing it!” gasped a pirate, fearful.

“Dr. Maul is actually bringing out him!” another cried, both astonished and terrified.

”... So hot.” muttered Kitana Blade under her breath.

Among the tangled ropes Dr. Maul began to convulse violently, grunting and groaning pained gasps. His glasses fell to the floor, shattering on the stone. His muscles tensed and his joints spasmed out of control. Before their very eyes Maul expanded into a much larger person, muscles rippling, but in a rather distorted way. His limbs elongated as they bulked, giving him a wiry, spider sort of look as much of his hair fell out. If it had not been for his clothes (which now barely fit) he would not have been recognizable as the same person.

“It’s him!” Most of the pirates cowered in fear, taking shelter beneath their seats. “Run! Hide! Fear for your lives! It’s Mr. Sledge!”

The rope snapped against the flexing, expanded muscles of Mr. Sledge in no less than four different sections. ”RAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!” In a single bound Mr. Sledge threw himself up to the same height as Ken. As easily as one steps on a bug, Mr. Sledge reached across the ropes and snagged Ken by the collar.

”YOU FALL DOWN NOW!” he screamed, then chucked Ken down at the floor. No sooner had the drunken doctor left his hand did he begin climbing upward again, now much much faster than prior to his transformation.

Ken fell down, down, down further. He had past the end of his broken rope before he was able to react and grab hold of it. ”Welp.” He said in a sort of verbal shrug. The drunkard reached out with his toes, taking hold of Maul/Sledge’s own rope using nothing more than his feet! Head first he swung down like a pendulum, releasing his toe-grip at the height of his arc in order to grab hold of the rope with his hands. ”Yoush-hic!-getsh down heresh!”

The drunk man began to tug the rope back and forth, sending whipping motions up along the thing. The first few didn’t even register on Mr. Sledge’s radar, but after a few seconds he noticed what was going on. Pausing his ascent for a second, the deformed mutant gazed back down at Ken, completely unimpressed and undisturbed by the drunken boxer’s attempts to shake him off.

”YOU SUPPOSED TO BE ON GROUND NOW!” He fought back against Ken’s shaking by flinging the rope around himself, with brutish strength violently outpacing his opponent’s. Ken was being flung around like a flea on a yoyo for as much control as he had over the situation!

”Whysh the room shpinning more’n normal?” the drunken doctor asked in a daze as his body flopped limply around in every direction. SLAM! He collided with a wall! SLAM! SLAM! The brutish Mr. Sledge wasn’t giving Ken an inch to spare nor a second of respite! Despite it all, Ken never registered any pain even as he began bleeding out his mouth.

”WHY YOU NO LET GO?!” Sledge redoubled his efforts, putting more and more force into the swinging, bashing Ken into wall after wall! The pirates were still cowering beneath their seats, though some of the more brave ones took notice of the brutal display going on in front of them.

On and on it went. The good doctor was bleeding profusely and had lost so much blood he was unrecognizable. Still, his fortitude held steadfast. Not once did he let go with so much as a single finger. It seemed it would go on forever, but someone had to give, and finally someone did. Mr. Sledge slowed down and mostly went limp, breathing heavily, his stamina having taken a heavy toll. Once more he mustered the force of his great strength for one final swing! That’s when Ken opened his eyes and seized his opportunity. As he was flung once again, Ken tugged hard on the rope with the force of Sledge’s swing, redirecting his force. The Krunch pirate was sent rocketing upward high, closing the distance! Up, up, up he went! Ken flew past Mr. Sledge and at the apex of this jump he grabbed onto the rope once again!

Now ten feet above Mr. Sledge, and only five feet from the ceiling, Ken was all but assured his victory. He reached up with one hand, ready to pull himself to even greater heights! ”NO BEAT MR. SLEDGE!” The mutant man tugged hard, throwing himself up high with his vastly greater strength, and closed his muscular fingers around Ken’s calves. He clenched hard… But so did Ken.

Phwoot.

Sniff sniff. Mr. Sledge’s face turned green in disgust after experiencing the most rank, awful, gut wrenching fart he had ever had the displeasure of smelling. Quickly he moved to cover his face with both hands… And promptly fell. THUD! Crack! The stone floor split where Mr. Sledge collided with it, knocked unconscious from the fatigue and the concussion. Before everyone’s eyes the man’s body shrank back into the form of Dr. Maul.

”You got dis, honky!” cheered Jo.

”Just a little farther, Ken!” chimed in Runch.

Whether or not the doctor had even heard them was up for debate, as he did not seem to acknowledge the cheers of his crew. Slowly, painfully, he reached up with one hand and pulled up a little farther. With increasing difficulty he reached up with his opposite hand. Now he was right on the cusp of victory. All that remained was to touch the ceiling. Just reach out… And touch it!

The last of Dr. Wutong Ken’s endurance and stamina left him in that moment. Everything went black, and he fell…

”Bori bori jelly platter!” Cap’n Runch leapt from his seat with outstretched hands. Large, soft and porous cereal shot forth from his body and onto the ground beneath the falling doctor. He landed on the top with a soft thwoomp, sinking a good four feet down before rising back up to the top.

“Both contestants are unable to continue!” announced one of the referees.

“This match is declared a draw, with both sides losing their athlete!” added on the other.
It's hard to say what anybody would think of this idea when there's nothing to go on. You say Flawed Deities is your own lore, but don't provide any information on it. There's no way to determine how well it would work or how interesting classical Greek myths would be with these twists since there's no indication as to what those twists and differences are.
Runch cheered for Bonekid's victory while the rest of his crew showed their appreciation for the fight in their own way. The Buccaneer Pirates began to murmur whispers of genuine concern that they might actually end up completely failing at this competition. It was truly an outcome they hadn't even considered could happen! As the skeleton kid came back to the stands from his victory, one of the Buccaneer officers, the man in the creepy coat and top hat, stood up to attend to the fallen Kitana Blade. Once he reached her prone form, he tapped his cane on the ground three times, unlocking a hidden mechanism which revealed a very large syringe within. He stabbed the needle deep into Blade, depressing the top of the cane to force a liquid through her body. After a few moments the swordswoman began coughing and stood up on her own.

"I lost. You should not have revived me." Her statement was morose yet calm.

"And let you leave me alone with this crazy crowd? Please. You're the only one that I can stand here." His own words sounded very detached and clinical as he twisted his cane-syringe back into a regular looking cane. A moment of pause passed between the both of them as each regarded the other with a completely blank stare. The moment was broken when, out of nowhere, the two began to passionately kiss, groping at one another with an intense ferocity.

"They're at it again!" cried a pirate.

"The legendary love between Blade and Maul!"

"My heart melts every time I see it!"

After nearly a full minute of furious, passionate makeout, the two abruptly broke apart as sudden as they had begun. Once they straightened their clothes, nobody could have been able to tell they even remotely cared for any human life, much less were so madly in love together.

"I shall take my seat," Blade commented, walking up the spiral stairs.

"As I accept the opposition's new challenger." The man named Maul straightened his top hat and gestured for a group of pirate mooks to begin the setup for his own contest.

"Boomoomoomoom!" bellowed Bill. "Looks like you've already decided for yourself who is going to participate next, eh? Go on ahead, Dr. Maul!"

The doctor smiled and tilted his head up just enough for the light to shine on his sunglasses, giving him a sinister visage. "My contest will be rope climbing!" he declared just as two ropes unfurled from the ceiling, no more than five feet from one another. "The first to reach the top and touch the ceiling wins. If you give up, or go unconscious, then you lose by default."

"Why would going unconscious be a problem?" Runch called out, squinting his eyes.

"Interference by the opponent is allowed." The man threw out his arms dramatically like a showman. "So who will take up the challenge of Dr. Maul?"

Several loud thuds, clunks, and crashes could be heard as one of the Krunch pirates suddenly fell over and tumbled down the stands, and then down the stairs. Wutong Ken came to a rather loud and abrupt stop right in front of Maul with an audible SMACK that echoed across the hall. "Ish-hic!-acshept yer chall-hic!-enge!" He stood up with some difficulty, swaying back and forth and trembling all over. His eyes had glossed over. Nearly every pirate in the room laughed hysterically at the antics of the drunk man.

"Uh...." There was a noticeable pause on the other end of the communication snail as the captain clearly wasn't sure how to respond. "Are you ok, soldier? You sound like you might have had a concussion. What's your name and rank?"

"OH GOD MY EYES!" screamed a pirate from just behind the door. Judging from the sounds, Smith was getting very creative in how he was beating them up.

"What was that?! Soldier, answer me!"
A bit late to announce this, but FloodTalon has left the game and thus opened up a new space in the main story villain team, The Jacks. I’m keeping the spot open for 2 weeks for new character submissions. If you have an existing character that you’d like to take the spot, post here or tag me and Old Amsterdam in Discord to let us know. After 2 weeks I’ll decide who gets the position. :)

Side note, very few people have voted for the character they want to see in the next interlude chapter. If I can get more votes, that’d be great.

Everything had begun happening so fast! The floor broke open and Ceramix crawled in with his giant stone armor golem, carrying a bunch of thugs from his gang in Boulder, and many people weren't exactly sure how to react. Some of the heroes, like Messiah and Margrave, jumped to action without a second prompt, while many gave pause for orders or attempted to reason with the gang leader. Inkscape was a man of action. As far as the Protectorate leader had been concerned, the very fact that Ceramix had dared to attack with such a grand show of force with such potential for civilian casualty negated any thought of peaceful negotiation prematurely.

"We need to concentrate on keeping the civilians safe!" he shot off quickly into his communicator, linked in to all Protectorates and Wards present. "Morales, keep their spirits up and get them out of here! Epsilon, put that new pack to the test and help Morales get the civilians gone!"

The octopus man shot himself high into the air by blasting out a massive stream of ink, propelling up like a rocket. In an effort to end things quickly, he shot a thick black liquid for Ceramix's face, but the massive arm of the stone golem swat the ink aside. "Overlook, we need your constant updates. Tell us when and where he's going to be open, or when we need to dodge! Noble, Margrave, take care of the small fry. We can't let them run amok!"

As he was giving out the second batch of orders, the majority of the Rockers disembarked from their ride in order to rush the stage. Every one of them carried pickaxes as weapons, which would no doubt be deadly if they struck someone without strong armor or brute toughness. "Hermes, I need you to-Ok, yeah, keep doing that. Sylph, it's your time to shine! You're the toughest and most mobile, so I need to to get in his blind spot and try to knock out Ceramix from inside his golem armor."

A Rocker rushed straight for Messiah and Tiger Lily, pickaxe ready to lodge in one of the girl's torsos. Just as he began swinging the weapon, a pellet of containment foam burst open on his back, rapidly expanding and enveloping him. The girls had Noble to thank, floating up above. Decoy, I need you to analyze the city grid and figure out how they got through without disturbing the sewers and lower infrastructure. Protean!"

"I heard the commotion, Ink, and I'm on my way!" came the voice of the Protectorate's shapeshifter, and biggest bruiser, through the commlinks.

"Come at me, heroes! Do you really think I'd attack you all together if I didn't have a plan? Hahahahaha! I'm gonna kick your asses!" The stone giant swung a mighty fist down toward where Inkscape was giving orders, but a quick warning courtesy of Overlook gave the team leader ample opportunity to get out of the way.

"Got a scan of all capes present in the hall," Tulpa reported, "No sign of Shatterpoint. That's the good news. Bad news is there's an unknown cape present in civilian clothes. Not sure on exact location. Nature of power is somewhat unclear. Too early to make call-outs, but try not to meet the eyes of any civilians. Power is initiated by sight. Going to sweep my projection elsewhere. Gather material traits for a manifestation. Awaiting orders, Messiah. Inkscape."

"Acknowledged, Tulpa. You heard her, heroes! Don't make eye contact with anybody!"

Nearby another Rocker swung a pickaxe at the hero Furnace, who didn't even move in reaction to the assault. His temperature flared up for a fraction of a second, flash melting the metal head of the digging tool. Everyone else in the room could feel the sudden change of temperature as its effects lessened over the distance, in particular Messiah who got at least a small bit of energy added to her reserves. Afterward Furnace unfurled a telescopic baton and whapped the Rocker across the face, putting him down in a single strike. "My powers are too volatile to deal with Ceramix with so many people around!" he called out over the intense sounds of battle. "I'll help with crowd control!"

At this point Messiah began striking Ceramix's stone leg with a concentrated heat beam. The stone began to glow red hot, but it did not melt. At least not as quickly as she might have anticipated. No doubt if she kept it up, or turned the heat up a few notches, that would do the trick. "I thought I'd have to deal with you! That's why I chose only igneous rocks for this suit! Hahaha!" One arm reached down to the ground and yanked free a large clump of earth, the size of a mini cooper, and hurled it toward Messiah with clear intent to crush her into a red paste.

"Messiah, he's going to throw something!" Overlook spoke into the comms, a fraction of a second before Ceramix actually began the tactic.

As soon as the clump had been thrown, Outsider made his entrance! With two titanic creatures, space was beginning to become a limited luxury. The alien-like hero slammed into the golem's back with intense force, knocking him off balance. The stone warrior stumbled forward, utterly annihilating the stage all the heroes had been presenting on. Still, he regained his footing and spun around with a powerful backhand right to what was probably Outsider's face.

"We're getting strapped for space in here. Tulpa, manifest as something that can hinder or immobilize him! We can't have any more wanton destruction endangering ourselves or the civilians." Meanwhile, the PRT security officers were busy either helping people get out, or taking down Rocker thugs. A particularly burly, mean looking Rocker wielding a pickaxe in each hand had spotted the little girl cosplaying as Margrave and went on the offense, mistaking her for the real thing.

"Take this, you wannabe hero!" he shouted, swinging both weapons at her horizontally from opposite sides.

"Kyoshi, get in there!" G@m3r ordered, pulling out a small blaster he had replicated from an indie sci-fi game. He blasted a thug in the chest, leaving a nice burn mark and knocking him out, but otherwise leaving him unharmed.

"Hmhmhm, I see that our resident Whipstitch has just discovered my insurance policy," mused the man calling himself the Broker. "Perhaps others have detected it as well, but chosen not to say anything? It's perfectly acceptable to comment. An individual such as myself who has no superpowers of his own needs to feel safe when surrounded by blokes such as yourselves. Ergo, with a bit of tinker technology that I have... Appropriated courtesy of the Wards' very own Epsilon, I have created a power nullification field. The settings are adjustable, so that I can provide proper demonstration of my product of course, but you will note that any powers of yours that directly affect others or the environment around you have been, shall we say, flipped off for the moment?"

And then Swarm made his move, a very bold one to say the least. The dominant personality strode forward as though he were in charge and owned the situation, and laid into this "Broker" his own conditions and demands. The tuxedo wearing many stifled a chuckle. "Mr. Swarm, I am the one who makes deals, or have you no respect for the name? I am the Broker." Suddenly his face contorted to give off a venomous anger the likes of which was usually only described in books and anime. It was as though he had a sort of aura about him, nothing superhuman, nothing related to powers, but a vibe that resonated with "do not fuck with me." "My offer is such: Ten thousand dollars per vial, an egregious discount I should note, and a limit of one vial per group. Bolster your numbers with another parahuman, someone you trust to watch your back, and then you can really lay into the Community. I want them gone as much as everyone else here. They're... Bad for business."

And like that he switched back to a friendly-yet-professional demeanor, on a dime. Rifling through his pockets, he pulled out another vial of clear liquid, and held it up. "I do not expect you to simply take my word for it. A demonstration is in order, after all. And how lucky we should be but to have someone present who has no superpowers." The man calling himself Broker glanced over to the booth where Purge and his right hand Benito sat. The Italian mobster lifted an eyebrow.

"Would you be referring to me?" Benito asked.

"But of course. I would be willing to provide you with this free sample, as demonstration to everyone present that my word is good as gold."

Benito glanced back to Purge, who merely nodded a single time. He then addressed the suited man once again. "Fine. I'll take it." He stood up and, cautiously, approached. Once he was near, he was handed the vial without any problems. "Bottoms up, I suppose." Like that Benito downed the vial. Immediately he dropped it, and the glass shattered on the floor. He hacked and coughed and half the villains stood up in apprehension.

"What are you pulling here?!" demanded Sabotage. The interloper merely smiled.

"Tastes awful!" Benito coughed. He stumbled his way over to the bar, motioning for the bartender. The bartender approached with a glass of water in hand. He brushed against the mobster as Benito rushed to grab the liquid and drown out the taste of the vial, but the glass never made it to his lips. It was gone.

"What the hell?!" Benito cried out, feeling for something that wasn't there. In that instant every single person in the Cruise Room blacked out for a few seconds. Otherworldly images dominated their sight in the black empty void of space. Celestial bodies, planets and nebulae, glimmering beautifully amidst the infinite nothingness. These things were wiped away, leaving only the blackness... And everyone came to.

A trigger event. Benito had just experienced a trigger event. Those in the room who were more knowledgeable about parahumans and triggers would recognize what had just happened. Whenever someone triggered in the vicinity of other parahumans, they would experience some sort of... Feedback. An unexplored science of parahumans as of yet, the cause and nature was unknown, but to those who knew what they had just experienced there could not possibly be any doubt. Benito had somehow just triggered. He was now a parahuman.
It is officially day 7 since the last GM update for hte main story teams, and therefore it is time for me to do callouts for anybody involved that has not yet posted since then or given me any reason as to why they are not posting. On the heroes side we only have @BCTheEntity. On the villain side we have @BCTheEntity@floodtalon@Xandrya@AngelofOctober. I know that BC is working on his post right now so I'm not worried there. For everyone else, recall that with this official callout you now have 5 days to update or inform me of any circumstances that are preventing you from doing so. Failure to comply in 5 days results in your participation being terminated and your characters being relegated to NPC status. :)
As the boxing match came to a close, Bill looked on in subtly surprise. It was clear that he was quite impressed. "If it comes down to my contest, I hope I get t'face 'im. That would be amazing." Of his officers, the man chomping down cigars in the orange tiger-striped coat was not so much impressed as he was furious, a scowl dominating his face. Muscles tensed and veins bulged at his visible displeasure.

"Captain..." he started, barely containing his anger. Bill cut the man off.

"Don' even ask. Go get'im." The man nodded, got up from his seat, then dove out the hole in the wall Greave had been sent flying through. If anybody paid attention, they would see him land in the water and begin swimming off in the direction his compatriot had been sent flying.

Spotting Bonekid so eager, Bill spoke up again. "Well, since me first mate is off gettin' our fighter back, an' yer so eager, why don' we move the schedule round a bit?" He glanced at the leather bound woman holding two swords and gestured with his head. Respectfully, she nodded and rose from her seat with grace and poise, slowly but methodically making her way from the stands to the center of the room.

As the woman approached, the gang of pirates quickly got to work tearing down the boxing arena. However unlike the other contests that had been setup, they did not replace it with anything else. The hall was left as it normally sat... Minus a cannonball shaped hole and a person shaped hole in the walls, of course. Regardless, she stood at the center of the room, hands on her hilts. She waited patiently and expectantly for Bonekid to take his place as her opposite, then drew two black blades: one long, and one short.

"Greetings, young one. I shall be your opponent today. The competition is simple: a duel. One point is awarded each time our blade makes contact. A victor is chosen at five points, or when one is unable to continue by means of unconsciousness or death, though it would seem blood loss shall not be a factor for you. Very well. Are you ready to face Kitana Blade?"

Back in the stands, Launcher turned to look at Caesar, eyes hidden behind her now cracked and broken sunglasses. The frames sat lopsided on her ears. Before responding, she blew a bubble of chewing gum large as her head, which summarily popped and covered her entire face. She made no indication to have even noticed. "I doubt you'd say that if you knew more about us."

"Ex-marines makes sense," Smith began, having completely ignored seeing someone fly out of the fortress toward the water. "Though I suppose they could just as easily have taken over this island from the marines."

He fiddled around with some of the logbooks and tools around as Dirk swiped a bunch of the objects for his own use. Why? One could say "only Dirk knows" but even that is very doubtful. Regardless, Smith was flipping through some pages in a rather bored looking manner when he spoke next. "It doesn't make a ton of sense, though. Whether they were marines stationed here or pirates that took it over, they should have at least one ship, right? So even if they did scuttle the Guppy and your crew's boat, in theory we could get away from this island... But where?"

Suddenly the door opened up, revealing a handful of goons on the other side. "Crap! Intruders!" one cried out. "Get them!" said another. Smith just sighed, dropping the book without ceremony, and charging into the doorway to do battle with them. Of course, that wasn't all, as Dirk's ears began to pick up a voice in the same room as them. "Marine base G-12, come in. This is captain Yoshi speaking."

It was coming from the den den mushi on the radio table. Somebody was signalling them! "Repeat, this is captain Yoshi. Come in, marine base G-12." Smith seemed to have those mooks handled, so maybe Dirk should answer? Of course, he could always help beat up some lowly pirates...
