"You should have left me to my secrets, as I left you to yours, dear sir."

I might be remembering incorrectly, but didn't Chuunitrix send mimics throughout the Chateau to hide and spy on the other Chapters? Or was that just the errand for food and books? Or is Chuunitrix intentionally being characterized as an unreasonable hypocrite? I tried looking for mention of it but couldn't find it; it's a lot to re-read and I don't remember when said 'spy party' was sent out, if at all. Maybe I'm misremembering. I ask only because if she did send them out, it would be an interesting plot point and potential for interaction if said spy mimics were caught.

EDIT: I hope this doesn't come off as critical or antagonistic. I think Chuunitrix is an interesting character, flaws and all.
Just doing a bit of digging around, but as it turns out the “real world” in overlord is pretty dystopian. Long story short but corporations have taken over government and a lot of public services like education and welfare end up becoming privatize and tuition based. Basically means you have to pay outta your own pocket for things like public school and being poor. Minimum education needed to enter the workforce is elementary at most. Ainz himself only achieved a middle school education.

Whack.

Yeah, it's why Rodias is so happy to actually eat Flan's tasty food since he couldn't afford anything as good in the real world. I've implied that Dr.Drd's life was a corporate nightmare, and being a programmer, he ultimately knew that he was part of the problem by automating away jobs but didn't/couldn't do a thing about it. I'm sure that reading between the lines of the snippets of the other creator's lives in the various posts would reveal similar dystopian disgruntlement. It also implies why YGGDRASIL is such an escape for the creators.
I'm banking in Isolde's non-expressiveness to rub Salem the wrong way. "Creator! Why did you make me to have FEELINGS?!"
Salem Vicarious, Lord of Lost Things

@The Irish Tree @Xaltwind

Salem's doll heads gleefully watched Rodias work while Salem's body was making its way from the first Chapter to the last. Salem had an idea what the secret words were to unlock the Chapter, having been Dr.Drd's closest confidante, but figured they'd at least watch the Sable Lord Lord struggle in the time it took Salem to reach the Chamber of Imaginary Numbers. Much to Salem's chagrin, Rodias successfully cracked the code, which meant that not only was Salem's entertainment spoiled, but it also implied that Rodias knew Dr.Drd well enough to guess the secret word. Dr.Drd often vocally complained about his peers to Salem, so Salem had assumed that Dr.Drd wasn't particularly close with any of them. To add insult to injury, Rodias referred to the Fifth Chapter's Keeper as Salem's stepsister.

Salem arrived in the Chamber while it was in the middle of booting up, floating over towards Rodias as the heads returned to the City of Lost Things to join Salem's collection of body parts. Upon Isolde's awakening, Salem felt some relief that the first name Isolde called out for was her own creator rather than Dr.Drd; it implied that Dr.Drd had not worked extensively nor taken a great deal of ownership in this side project.

Seeing the potentially sticky situation that might occur, Salem decided to step in, "Where are you manners? This is Rodias, the last remaining Sable Lord. Your creator has abandoned you like the rest of our creators have abandoned the rest of us. Only Lord Rodias remains to watch over the Chateau. As your fellow Chapter Keeper, I can vouch that between the time that your casket opened until now, Lord Rodias has done nothing to you, though as a Sable Lord, he would be well within his rights to do whatever he wished." Salem wanted to see how Isolde would react to the news of abandonment as well as suddenly being the property of another Creator.
Vivian & Sylvia Altissima

@Restalaan @PaulHaynek @13org @ShwiggityShwah

"Digging our way out sounds like a plan," Vivian concurred with Ozzy. "But not having the map means we fail our mission," Sylvia agreed with Ditzy. While they were pondering their options, the sister's vines, which hung loosely and took up a good deal of space when deployed, felt a light tapping. "Now's not the time to play," Sylvia chided in mild annoyance, still seeing Ada like an overgrown puppy, but Vivian, who was more tolerant of playful behavior, gave Ada her attention.

"G-guys? Ada found the map..." Vivian called out, pointing out the window towards the burly zombie.

"Oh! She's a BIG one, isn't she?" Sylvia said with a weak chuckle, "How about we start on that escape tunnel while the rest of you try to figure out how we can get that map from her?" Already the sisters were prying up stone tiles with their roots to get at the earth beneath the church.
MillAgros-TR-17 Hyouka

@PaulHaynek

Hyouka smiled, glad that Gordian was well enough to have a sense of humor. "Well, you better not be the only Hospitaller in the caravan or we're screwed," she said, hoping to add some mirth to the otherwise depressing situation. Had he patched himself up through the pain and in the heat of battle just to come to their rescue? True heroism was in pushing past one's fears and limits. Still, she made sure to hand him off to some other Hospitaller just to make sure he didn't have any lingering injuries.

As the caravan got back on its feet, Hyouka spent some time solemnly mourning the dead. As she approached, Camille asked a question that Hyouka took some time to ponder. "Well, there are two sides to it. The first being that, tactically, they didn't have a choice. In a single skirmish, your death or mine is equivalent to one of their deaths: it's one less soldier on the field. Sure, we can come back, but even if you had an identical backup body with all your gear already set-up, you'd still have to travel from your data center. By the time we got back here, the battle would be over, and the casualties might be higher since we weren't there to participate in combat. As robots, our combat capabilities are higher on average, so keeping us alive and in battle ironically keeps more humans alive. The option of having only robots engage in combat can only be considered if robot soldiers far outnumbered human soldiers, but that might mean a decrease in robot combat efficacy since it would likely rely on mass-production." Just because robots were technically immortal didn't mean that the limitations of time and distance didn't apply. "The other thing is that this is what they know. Death is inevitable so they have to seriously weigh what they consider to be a life worth living. For many of them, living and dying for a greater purpose allows them to not have regrets. Perhaps I can introduce you to human literature. Since they evolved sentience, they have told tales of heroism. In a way, to have people tell stories of your bravery for generations to come was, to them, a form of immortality, perhaps the only form of immortality they can attain. You can think of it like vicarious memory preservation." Hyouka realized it might be a lot for Camille to take in, so she stopped to let the other robot ruminate.

MillAgros-TR-17 Hyouka

@PaulHaynek

"I'm alright," Hyouka replied, grateful for Gordian's concern regardless, "But we really need to get you back to a medic." Hyouka realized that she had left Gordian to be taken care of by someone else during the fighting. Part of her felt guilty, considering how he had reciprocated by saving her life, but part of her knew the realities of combat. His grit also reminded Hyouka what was amazing about humans, while a robot could measure 'damage' and mathematically determine when it was too disabled to continue fighting, humans, despite the uncertainties of their own bodies, could often push through damage and pain and perform extraordinary feats. She let him lean on her if he needed, hoping to provide him with the camaraderie and care that she hadn't offered previously.

Looking over to Camille, Hyouka apologized, "Hey, sorry for being harsh earlier. You did great. Let me get Gordian to the medbay, and we can visit the engineers together and get your weapon repaired."
I don't foresee escalation between Salem and Graft. Salem is more cooperative than it lets on, and Salem basically backed off.
