Marco Diaz

Marco hadn't realized that other people had been present. Because really, how could he? He'd just lost perhaps the most important person in his life. Or, at least, it seemed like it. Other people in the park were irrelevant. They weren't Star. He just wanted Star...

Still, that didn't mean that he didn't practically seize up when he was approached by some British lady. The teen's back noticeably tensed from the sudden hand being placed on his shoulder. He hadn't been expecting that in the slightest. He didn't fight it or push it away, however. No... no. Marco had realized soon enough that this gesture was one of comfort. Mainly because of the question that followed.

And with said question, Marco turned, the tears still in his eyes as he did so. A few sniffled came out as well, and though his eyes glanced away for a brief moment, the teenager did ultimately look back. He raised his arm to his face to wipe away those tears. In that comfort, though it finally hit him how he probably looked like the world's biggest dunce right now. Crying in public like that... he hoped that too many people wouldn't pity him. He was supposed to be the misunderstood bad boy! Not some-

Oh, who was he kidding. He just wanted Star back. He didn't care about how much of a dunce he seemed to be.

"I-I'm... fine..." Marco replied, managing a nod to accompany his words. He stood up with his shaky legs, and though his eyes averted the comforting woman's in favor of the much less forgiving ground, he still stood beside her in place."I'm just--" he cut himself off with a sniffle, followed by a quiet sigh. "...looking... for someone, is all."

Joel had been taking in everything from his corner. From the rambunctious rumblings of the bearded man, to the various other kidnapped denizens all having those same damn looks on their faces. They all looked confused. Scared, even. Had he not come from a world of complete and utter shit, perhaps Joel Miller would have felt the same way. But... this wasn't that.

It was a breath of fresh air, really. For a moment. Admittedly, he did have a bit of a headache. Whatever the hell that "Luthor" guy did to them all had left a bit of a mark on the old man's brain. But as his vision cleared, so did his thoughts. And with that clarity came a face. The one person he'd sacrificed everything to protect. The girl who'd... well, who'd taught him what it was like to be a father again.

"...Ellie!"

With her name muttered under his breath, Joel had pushed up off the wall he'd been leaning against. Fuck this place. Fuck this Luthor guy. And fuck whatever the hell they'd done to their brains. Ellie wasn't here. He knew that much by the distinct lack of her voice. He didn't even need to look in order to find that out. And if he'd been kidnapped, then that meant she was alone. And if she was alone, and Joel was here? Well, that just wasn't gonna fuckin' fly. Peri-

Joel? That really you?

Immediately, Joel turned as he heard that familiar voice. It was one he hadn't heard in a long damn time - yet one that he'd recognize clear as day. She'd been his partner for twenty odd years, after all. Yeah... his partner. The one who'd been fucking bit. And then shot.

"Tess...?"

So many thoughts were running through his head at once. Was this some kind of fucked up dream? It... it had to be, right? Tess was dead. He saw her die with his own damn eyes. Her body was right there, laid out on the fucking floor. Blood pouring out of her dozens of exit wounds. She hadn't even lasted a fucking minute with those damn soldiers. So... so how the hell was she here? This could've been a dream... but since when were they this damn vivid? Joel couldn't recall any time, really. Period.

He was in shock. Words failed him as the world around him turned to a blur. All he could do was stare at the woman in front of him. The very woman who he'd seen die. And as if life hadn't thrown him enough damn curveballs at that moment...

"...what even happened?"

Everything else she'd said fell on deaf ears. Tess herself was even forgotten in that moment - and so was everyone else in that damn cage. He'd turned upon hearing that voice, tears immediately falling out of his eyes as he'd done so. This many fucking years later... and he still remembered her voice. Her laughter. Her sobs. Because what kind of a damn father would he be if he'd forgotten? Sure, Ellie had helped him move on... but Joel didn't forget. He couldn't.

But that didn't mean that he could believe his damn eyes, neither.

"Sarah..."

He muttered her name for the first time in years. Other than when talking with Ellie, of course. Fuck... fuck...
FUCK!

All at once, Joel's knees gave, and he fell to his knees. Right in front of his daughter. And immediately his arms reached out and wrapped around her, pulling her in as close as he could. He held onto her for dear life - like both their lives depended on it. For the first time in fucking years, he'd held his baby girl in his arms. He hadn't held her since... since...

Joel could stop his tears like a man could stop a train. He didn't give a fuck how he was doing it. He'd either died and gone to Heaven, or he was in a dream. And as he rocked back and forth with his daughter, running his fingers through her hair again and outright sobbing, he could only think one thing. One thing as he held her close to him again. One thing as he had her face buried into his shoulder, just like she'd done when she crawled into bed with him on those stormy nights when she was a little girl.

If this was a dream... then he'd sure as shit better not wake up...

"Oh... oh baby girl... baby baby please don't ever leave me again... fuck... please girl stay with me... don't leave me again... just hold onto me baby girl... just hold onto me a little bit longer..."

The Director's analysis of his surroundings would ultimately come up at least somewhat well. Surrounding the cage was a rather long catwalk of a balcony. The catwalk wrapped around the entire room, and there were multiple doors that seemed to lead to the outside. However, all of those doors were sealed.

On the ground level, the room seemed to be entirely vacant - save for what seemed to be an elevator of sorts. It was directly adjacent to where they were standing.

Meanwhile, Natal's powers did indeed seem to work as intended. He was able to traverse upwards along the wall rather easily - eventually even pressing against the ceiling itself! However, the glass maintained its structural integrity even high up. At least for now, there didn't really seem to be any means of escape.

During the short period that Negan was on the ground, Date wouldn't find any noticeable marks, oddly enough. His vitals seemed to be all well and good as well, other than unusually high spikes in his... heartrate? Well, it sort of made sense, given what had just transpired.

In reality though, the bearded man was actually far from unconscious. He'd taken one HELL of a hit, to be sure, but that didn't mean he was out for the count just yet. Which was made obvious as she rested her hand on his chest cavity. That intrusive hand was promptly slapped away by the man, and what followed was a dry chuckle.

"Ooooohhhh.... MY!" he shouted through the laughter, slowly climbing up to his feet. His bat's business end poked against Red's, nudging her away from him. He turned to her soon after, "Little girl, I do appreciate the concern..." he paused as his bat was given a good twirl and promptly slung over his shoulder. He nodded down at her, smiling smugly all the while, "But I do believe that I can handle myself!" Still, though, that goat... thing had eased his pain a bit. BUT, Negan wasn't in the business of even acknowledging that thing's presence - other than staring at it for a long moment, before ultimately shaking his head and walking away.

The sound of laughter could then be heard in the other direction, and with its presence, the man slowly turned to face it. His brows furrowed at the noise, and his eyes narrowed all the while. Negan seemed less angered by this and more... intrigued. He paced on over to the rodent, keeping his smile up all the while. He stopped at only a few short feet from him, and it was at this point that he pointed the bat down at him.

"Well aren't you a cocky 'lil asshole?" he said. Up close, Dris could definitely make out the dried blood on the weapon. It seemed like it had been there a while, too. "Word to the wise, though..." Negan proceeded to kneel down next to the rat, getting right at eye level with him. "It really ain't wise to laugh at someone who didn't just craw out of the worst smellin' dumpster - quite frankly ever." to prove his point, Negan sniffed in, before mouthing a gag. He turned and exhaled after doing so, before eyeballing him one last time...

And then he chuckled to himself and walked away.

This was it. The magic had been destroyed. Mina had been defeated... and soon, the entire realm of magic would collapse. Surely, anyone left here would die. It would be crazy to stay in such a place! Who would even dream of doing something so crazy??

Well, these two, for one.

"With or without magic..."

"We belong together...."

And then... everything went black.

Marco awoke with a startled gasp, eyes shooting up like rockets. The sudden bright light would have normally blinded anyone waking up from an extended nap - but for one Marco Ubaldo Diaz? That hardly mattered.

The memories in his head were clear as day. They'd destroyed the magic. They'd won. Mina was gone. And... Toffee was right. That was weird! But still, despite that, they'd defeated the forces of evil once and for all!

But all victory came at a price.

The magic being destroyed would forever separate their worlds. Separate them. And... and after everything they'd been through? After defeating all those monsters together, going on all those adventures- heck, after suffering through a YEAR LONGLOVE TRIANGLE, and finally becoming a proper couple? Yeah... no. No. Marco was not about to let all of that be for nothing. They'd come this far. They belonged together. They needed each other. And Star? Well, Star had known that as much as him, apparently.

They weren't about to lose each other. Not again.

So, ignoring anyone else present in this park, the distressed Marco immediately stood up to his feet. He cupped his hands over his mouth, looking for the girl he'd fought so hard to keep. The only one who mattered right now. He didn't even care that he didn't recognize where he was - heck, that hadn't even crossed his mind yet! All that mattered was that he find Star again.

"Star???" Marco called out as he walked around. He didn't realize it, but tears were beginning to form in his eyes. His knees trembled as his calls became more desperate. "Star...??? P-please..." Now he could barely even manage to stand. There wasn't any sign of her. No big portal in the distance. No rainbows or kittens or candy... nothing. No sign of Star at all.

He was alone again.

"S-Star..." Marco sniffled as he fell to his knees, unable to hold back the tears. Not that he even wanted to. Not now.

Soon enough, he'd fallen to his knees. His heart was thumping in his chest. And all he could manage were soft sobs as the reality of how things were soon hit him.

"Goodbye, Star..."

Prologue

"Long Night Ahead"

It didn't matter what you were doing. It didn't matter where you were. All that mattered is that whatever it was - whether you were on the verge of certain death, or enjoying a long rest after a hard day of work - you weren't there anymore.

It started with a slight, buzzing pain in the back of your neck. The kind of pain that feels like a bee sting... only without the annoying spot that often accompanies it. Maybe you tried rubbing it? Or maybe you just let it be. But whatever you did - it didn't matter. That sharp pain only grew stronger and more apparent within a very short amount of time. Eventually, it had crept from the back of your neck and into your head. And from there? Well, from there it was only a matter of time before you felt your brain functions shut down one by one.

First you lost feeling in your arms.

Then your torso.

And then finally, your legs.

And as you collapsed to the floor, the last thing you remembered hearing was a faint buzzing sound in your ear... before you were inevitably out cold.

You awoke to a rather... dull setting. Whether or not it was worse or better than your original home was up to the eyes of the beholder. The point was clear, though - you definitely weren't home anymore.

The room itself was rather large. It had to be, after all, so that way it could hold this many people. So many people were here... it was hard to count them all. But they all looked to be just as confused as you were. The room itself was rather empty, though. Almost... barren? It wasn't entirely white - more so a boring shade of dull grey.

It took your eyes a moment to adjust, but once they did... it became all too clear what was happening.

You were trapped. And how did you notice this fact? Well, surrounding you all was a large, see-through glass cage. The glass expanded far overhead, making it large enough to contain each and every one of you with no issue whatsoever. Even the bigger ones with the more fancy weapons. Above the cage was a platform, with a railing standing overhead. And on top of said railing stood a woman, who stared down at you all with an emotionless expression.

"Mister Luthor will call you up to see him shortly," the woman stated, her voice as flat as her appearance. In her hand appeared to be a clipboard of sorts. Were they running tests? "Please remain calm until then."

With that, she turned to leave... only to be stopped by a scraping noise at the back of the cage. Should you turn to maybe find said noise in question, it would become very clear what it was soon enough. It had been the scraping of a bat along the ground. A bad covered head to toe in barbed wire. And the man holding said bat was a tall one - with broad shoulders, a beard, and a leather getup that could put motorcycle fetishists to shame.

"Now ain't this somethin'?" the man asked as the bat was promptly slung over his shoulder. He looked past the other people in the cage - right into the eyes of the lady on the outside. He licked at the inside of his cheek before turning and gesturing outward to the denizens around him. He seemed to be sizing the rest of you up. "I mean - the rest of these assholes look particularly weak as SHIT-" those words were accompanied by a small dip of the knees, before he continued. "But you managed to fit me and my gargantuan, beach ball sized NUTS in here, and I respect that. So!" The bat was given a good spin, before its business end was dropped to the floor beside him. "I'm willin' to give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume that you don't know who I am, or what I can-HRRRRRRGGGG!!!"

The man's monologue was cut off by the sound of a sharp scream escaping his lungs, as he fell to the ground with his hand on his head. Almost collapsed, really. The woman's expression didn't change all the while while he spazzed out.

"It would be wise for the rest of you to use this man as an example. Do not threaten us. Mister Luthor will see you shortly."

And with that, she left the room, and whatever was impairing the bearded one's brain was cut off. He was left there, breathing and gagging heavily as a pool of drool spilled over and onto the ground.

"Fuckin' jackass....' A much older, more disheveled looking man muttered from the corner of the cage, before shaking his head and turning away from the sight.

With that, you were all left to your own devices... for now, at least.

Maybe now would be a good time to get to know each other?

Main Thread or Sandbox
Sandbox; Woke up not too long ago, been exploring a bit.

Starting Location
The Daily Planet, Metropolis

Personality
Ellie is known for her extremely loud mouth as well as her abrasiveness. Growing up in a post apocalyptic world will make anyone super bitter - and this girl is no exception. She doesn't take shit from anyone and considers herself to be particularly independent. She hates it when people talk down to her or treat her like she's a kid - because she knows that she's so much more than just that. She's not afraid to put anyone in their place if they go after her or her especially those she cares about. Ellie is a firm believer in the "eye for an eye" philosophy. The whole world can go blind if they so want, as long as it means they got their just desserts.

But despite all of that, Ellie fears one thing above all else: being alone. She doesn't want to lose those who are closest to her. She may be tough as nails when she's alone, but Ellie craves off of human interaction. She thrives off of it. If she gets attached to someone, then she'd damn well better not lose them. And if someone takes them from her? Well, then she'll sure as shit be out for blood.
Background: Ellie grew up in a world overrun by a fungus known as the Cordyceps. They turned her into world into a zombie-infested wasteland years before she was even born. From a young age, she was forced into military training by the adults around her, much like every other kid was. This led to her learning how to both shoot a gun and hold her own in a fight. It's also here that she picked up her survival skills.

After an encounter with the Infected at a mall, however, both Ellie and her friend Riley were bit. They planned to die together that day, but in a cruel twist of fate, it turned out that Ellie had been immune... and Riley hadn't. Not long after being forced to kill her own best friend, Ellie was taken under the care of the Fireflies - a group of freedom fighters hoping to restore the world to what it once was. But due to unforeseen circumstances, Ellie was instead put under the care of smuggler Joel Miller. Joel was tasked with bringing her to a Fireflies base elsewhere in hopes that their surgeons would develop a vaccine using whatever made her immune.

Equipment
- Handgun: This standard handgun will be kept by Ellie at all times. It's an ordinary pistol with seven rounds. Ellie will start off with fourteen rounds, and hopefully she'll find more as her story progresses.
- Flashlight: A flashlight used for seeing in dark areas. Nothing much more to say than that.
- Combat knife: Ellie uses this to take out her enemies more stealthily. It's a small knife that ideally will only be used in sections where Ellie needs to be quiet. Or to like.... cut things such as rope, I guess.
- Bow and Arrow: Ellie will also be equipped with a bow and arrow. She'll have four arrows to start out with. Like the rounds in her pistol, she will ideally find more arrows as her story progresses.
- Backpack: To carry all this stuff, Ellie has her backpack on her at all times. It's small and almost never taken off when she's not resting. There's about three pockets left of empty space when accounting for the above.

Attributes
- Advanced Hearing - When Ellie focuses hard enough, she is able to hear people around her that she can't see. She can't hear very far though - as her limit in quiet areas would be around two rooms over, while in more noisy ones it'd only be one room.

Biography
See personality section.

Other
Ellie will be taken from between the events of The Last of Us Parts 1 and 2.

Starting Location
Centennial Park; Just woke up

Personality
Marco is kind, responsible, very organized, and supportive of others. He has a reputation at his school for being the "safe kid" due to avoiding danger and being cautious, though he insists that he is a "misunderstood bad boy" and lives for danger. He prefers keeping his possessions neatly organized. Marco is smart, gets good grades in his math and psychology classes, and figures out how to find a replacement for Star's wand charger using the metric system. Because he likes it when things go his way, he can become unstable when they don't, like when he snaps at Star for ruining his room and insanely trying to live in front of Stop & Slurp. Although he isn't used to the kind of craziness that Star brings, he admits that he would like a little danger in his life and finds fun in fighting monsters with karate.

He often struggles with self-confidence, afraid of being ridiculed by others, and can become nervous easily. "Naysaya" reveals that he has many insecurities and emotional hang-ups. He has an occasional temper and can get frustrated and/or annoyed with others, such as with Star when she intrudes upon his life, or recklessly drags him into overly dangerous situations. However, he soon makes amends with those who cause him grief, like thanking Pony Head for saving him in "Party With a Pony". He cares deeply for those he is close to, attempting to save Ferguson from being kidnapped in "School Spirit" and trying to cheer up Star whenever she is feeling upset. Marco also has an urge to occasionally protect Star and keep her safe, as depicted in "Sleep Spells" and "Blood Moon Ball".

Over the course of the series, Marco becomes less overly cautious and more confident, especially in his romantic pursuit of Jackie Lynn Thomas in "Freeze Day" and "Naysaya". He progressively takes more risks as a result of his friendship with Star, but he sometimes still struggles with self-confidence. After Marco moves into the Butterfly Castle, he usually tends to prioritize his wants over his responsibilities which can cause him to mess up his important duties such as him wanting a job higher up so that he could see Star or keeping Star's sleep-portaling a secret from Hekapoo so that they can continue to work together and go on adventures. Whenever he realizes this, he does his best to make things right.

In his role as Star's squire, Marco takes his responsibilities seriously and carries them out as best he can, as shown in "Trial by Squire", "Is Another Mystery", and "Divide". However, his intense focus sometimes causes him to ignore other people in his life, such as his parents in "Marco Jr."

Equipment
His red belt and a juicebox.

Attributes
He is extremely gifted at karate. The red belt is really only a fraction of his true power. (seriously he punched a hole through a dude's chest once he is insane)

Biography
Before Star Butterfly's arrival on Earth, Marco Diaz was your typical, overly cautious, socially anxious teenage boy. He was known as the "Safe Kid" in his class due to his over reliance on safety protocols - such as wearing a helmet in the gym shower once. However, after Star arrived on Earth and moved in with him as a "foreign exchange student", everything changed.

The two fought a bit at first, but soon enough they'd hit it off and become best friends. From there, Star and Marco went on numerous adventures. They fought and defeated monsters such as the overzealous Ludo and the enigmatic Toffee - and eventually, Marco moved in with Star on her home planet, Mewni. The two remained in contact and continued to go on adventures after that - and eventually even became a couple! How sweet.

Other
Marco will be taken from the finale in Season 4, after Star destroyed the magic and the entire realm was destroyed. Rather than waking up on Earth, he woke up in Metropolis.

Sandbox

Starting Location
Wayne Tower, Gotham City; He's been here for a bit alongside his friend Eddy, and wants to figure out where he is. And a giant tower surely holds those answers. Hopefully he can get a meeting with one of the city's most influential monarchs!

Personality
Edd is a rather scrupulous, but kind and good-intentioned youth. Docile, polite and disciplined, he willingly adheres to the laws and regulations of his community. With his love and desire for order, he occasionally undertakes the role of a peacemaker. He is incredibly gentle and accepting, albeit sometimes awkward and timid in his interactions, particularly with people of the opposite sex. Although considered an outcast, he is a generally well-respected, if not appreciated, member of his peer group, whom he gladly counsels and assists if need be. Even so, perfectionist Edd is something of a "goody-two-shoes," wishing to please and accommodate to the needs of others.

Edd is quite delicate and mysophobic, disliking any potentially "harmful" form of physical activity and among all, contamination. He will go great lengths to cleanse his environment, and exhibits numerous idiosyncrasies; among these odd habits are his tendency to name tag his every possession, to the extent of claiming to "not be able to rest in an unlabeled setting." He has a significant dislike of sports as well, rooted perhaps from an infamous, scarcely mentioned dodgeball incident from his childhood.

What Edd lacks in physical strength is substituted by his intelligence, in a total reversal of the dim-witted yet physically stronger Ed. Exceptionally precocious, Edd is a promising young inventor with an interest in science. Although clever and perceptive, his foresights are often denied by an insidious Eddy. It is then that he displays his characteristic neuroticism and sarcasm, to the chagrin of his friends. Edd has also proven on many occasions to be quite brave. In "The Day the Ed Stood Still," he volunteered to potentially sacrifice himself to make up for his creation of Monster Ed. In the movie, he is among the first to stand up to Eddy's Brother while he was torturing Eddy.

In earlier episodes, he was a little more laid back and a lot more soft-spoken, he was also much more subservient to the whims of Eddy. However, as time wore on and his character expanded, he not only became more understanding and disciplined, but also more sarcastic and insubordinate to Eddy. He also began to talk a lot more than he used to. His quirks were also played up a lot more as well, such as his intelligence, his perfectionism, and his obsessions with order and cleanliness.

He also gets upset when people are better than him in something he excels at, as seen in "Ed in a Halfshell," "Too Smart for His Own Ed," and "In Like Ed", suggesting he has somewhat of a superiority complex.

Equipment
- A slingshot to strike foes from afar! And a very heavy text book, along with a label maker and a ton of unused folders.

Attributes
He is extremely smart, especially for a kid his age. We're talking Jimmy Neutron level smart, boys.

Biography
Edd grew up in the cul-de-sac alongside his best friends, Ed and Eddy. He reluctantly helps them concoct schemes - often serving as the brains of their operations.

Saibh

Location - An alleyway in Gotham City
Mood - Wary, a bit curious
Status - Healthy

Her head whipped around to look behind her, thoughts interrupted by the sudden thumps and knocks of the night. No matter where Saibh looked however, there wasn't any indication of an animal, or just- just anything in general. The consumer of emotions took a few steps forward, towards where the noise once was... if she could figure out just what it was, maybe that could be the clue she needs. Either that or a last-resort snack, if she can't find someone to stay with or any money.

So, with a silent breath in, Saibh then called out:

"Who's there?"

Gotham City: Alleyways

Interactions - @teapartybs

Unfortunately, this was not a poor, defenseless animal that Saibh could kill and eat. But it was a living being, as was soon revealed. A human - to be exact. A human woman... to be uh- more exact.

The woman in question was tall and rather slim. She was clad in pretty form-fitting armor, which was only partially covered by a mini-leather jacket. A pretty stuffy looking belt wrapped around her hips, while simultaneously holding up her pants. But perhaps the most noticeable thing (besides her pretty rad hair) was the blue mask - which matched the color scheme of the rest of her outfit.

"Yo," girl said as she approached while holding up both hands. She didn't seem to be armed, nor posing much of a threat. She was up on the fire escape above Saibh, legs dangling below. It seemed like they probably led into some rundown apartment of sorts. She had a rather casual smile on her face - friendly, even. "You do know that creepin' around dark alleyways is like... the absolute dumbest thing you could do at this time of night, right? 'specially in The Narrows."

And wouldn't you know it - Saibh's inner monologue of self deprecation was soon interrupted by a soft thump from a nearby rooftop. Should the girl turn, though, she'd find that... well! No one was there. Weird. Maybe it was a raccoon or an animal or something?

Oh, nope! There it was again. This time closer, and more ground level. It sounded like something had knocked against the dumpster right behind her. But when she turned... well! There was nothing there yet again. Was someone messing with her? Or were there just a lot of noisy animals out tonight?

Only one way to find out!
Welcome to the guild, @Thatguyinastore. Anything in particular you're interested in? I mean, other than TLOU, with the Ellie PFP and all.

Damn man- a ton of things lmfaoooo. I’m obviously going hard on TLoU rn but I’m also into just… gaming in general - as well as plenty of films and TV Shows.
