Honestly, a Trauma Center x Toyko Ghoul (with or without Code Lyoko in it) sounds like a phenomenal concept.

It would be hilarious if none of the PCs won the tourney.
Marrie Knight

"Tch!" That was all Marrie was able to get out of her mouth as she was tossed over the paleguard with its rather impressive technique. But this was fine, she had expected something like this. She let go of the grip of her Instrument, and with the very last instant of her flight Melody, she adjusted her course so as to only clip Finn rather than barreling into him. It was only a few degrees off from the aim of the throw, but hopefully he'd be able to put that change to use. Much more importantly, she was glad that her Instrument had changed as much as it had since coming to Pax. When she was flung she initially had horrible flashbacks of her first mission again, and wondered if something similar would happen.

As she rolled to her invisible feet, relief washed over her. It seemed that her chain was working well. And to better use that chain... She prepared to rip Apexer Predator up and through the paleguard's shoulder, hoping to sever it complete, when the giant snake slammed into the MicroMart. As the cultists swarmed out of the snake, Marrie had a single thought.

Why does god hate me?

It didn't help that the truck began to take off, rightfully so, or that the homeless were beginning to be-

Fuck... She slapped herself on both of her temples, just hard enough to hurt but not enough to knock her unconscious. Rationalize later.

Did she dare try to switch places with the one-and-a-half-armed man, on a moving vehicle, with the only cast note that could do it giving a huge warning to him that it would happen? ... Probably not. But what was she supposed to-

And then it happened. Something, some fucking THING, slammed into the front of the truck. Well then. I suppose that solves this mission. She tore her gaze away from the truck before she could see what happened to it, but she'd made up her mind on what to do. If these bastards were going to hurt genuinely innocent, unlucky, fucked-over people... To kill them... Were they any better than any of the few people Marrie'd been forced to kill? Was self-defense the only acceptable reason, or did protecting other count? Even if she couldn't save any of the homeless people who were here, wouldn't she be saving people in the future from the same fate?

Rationalize. Later.

With her Instrument still stuck in the paleguard's back, blade pointed upwards and its chain laying across its shoulder next to its next opposite the stab-wound, she couldn't just leave it. But these things were fighting for the mob, right? They were trying to protect them from the Freelancers like her. Would they fight for them against this group of trash? She could only hope so.

Besides, better to fight them than another esper, in her experience. So she stood up, jumped forwards as hard as she could, and hoped the monster was stronger than it looked. The instant her feet left the ground, she retracted her Instrument's chain, using the paleguard, who moving in the opposite direction, as a weight in an attempt to trebuchet herself at the actual cultists. The musculature was hopefully just strong enough for her to highschool physics class her way out of this, and just weak enough for AP's blade to come loose once the stronger force was put on it from the launch, letting it come back to her hand as she flew. It was up to fate-

- that she would succeed. As she flew the few yards that her maneuver had afforded her, AP would return to her hand as she instantly began casting a Melody, pointed directly at the group of cultists. She'd make sure not to hurt anything other than those fuckers.

{Silver Beam - Scatter - If Foe - [Warm (+1 Rank) Damage X]}

- that she would fail. After quickly regaining her balance after being swung about slightly, she'd dash forwards and retract her chain, now from the direction of the paleguard's back, to return AP to her hand and cast a Melody through her foot onto the ground.

It's player to player, there's no bot. It's basically playing the game in person at a table, you have to manually do everything the cards say. But, once you're used to it, it works well, and it allows custom cards to be made/used. So it would work best by having us play the duel out between the RPers and put the dialogue/etc. in the log as we do. Then it's just a matter of prettying it up and adding things that would be known to the reader but not the other player (ie thinking "Oh, thank goodness, I drew Pot of Desires right when I needed to. Good thing my opponent doesn't know that") since putting that in the log would obviously be telling the other player what happened.

The biggest downside, if you consider it one, is that you do need to make an account for the site, but it's super easy to do so. Then just make a private duel with a password and you can duel a specific person by giving them that password and having them put it in at the duel table you make.

But, uh... It's probably a good idea to ignore the front page messages/statuses. Back when I was on Duelingbook much more often, there were times things there got sort of stupid.
Luna Abbott

"SHIT!" That was all the girl could say as her opponent summoned her first monster... The freakin' girl used Sky Strikers!?

"Sorry about that, that's why Magical Mallet is my favorite Spell card, hehe." Luna said as she picked up her cards.

"I really need to ditch the Bamboo Sword cards in my deck, anyway. I bricked once you had Egyptian God Slime out. Good game."

"I could tell. Yeah, good game."

The two shook hands and stood up, collecting their decks. As she did, Luna wasn't quite sure why she was here. She wanted the packs, yeah, but why was her first instinct to go to a game store when she got to Old Domino City? Familiarity? Was there such a thing for someone in a new town, or worse yet in her position? She sighed and went off to an empty table as near a corner as she could get and began shuffling her deck. Having totally forgotten her standard playing card deck and having to really ration her money, she decided to substitute her Duel Monsters deck for it.

Shuffle twice, draw six cards... So she did. She placed the cards in a pentacle with a sixth card in the center, all face-down. She spun the outside cards once, clockwise, and then began divining her fortune from the top right point.

The first card she flipped was Cyber Jar. Renewal, a new chance that's neither good nor bad, but a strong possibility of taking things too far... Nothing new there. Taking things too far was Luna's MO.

Her second card, opposite Cyber Jar on the top left point, was Loris, Lady of Lament. Another card of new beginnings, though much more of a "second" chance than Cyber Jar. It made sense given that this was her second attempt, but it also meant there were pitfalls ahead. She'd have to be careful.

Her third card, the bottom right point, was Scapeghost. Pretty obvious answer, she was either blaming someone unfairly or would be blamed for something unfairly, but whoever it was that was blamed would come back stronger. She would have to check the next card to get more context.

Fourth, the bottom left point of the star, was Swords of Concealing Light. She'd be in a slump for a long while, and her enemies would take advantage. She could only hope that those enemies weren't her family.

The final card of the star was Metal Reflect Slime, one of her go-to cards. Also fairly obvious, she would be on the defensive but likely to be victorious in the end. Finally, she flipped the center card...

Upstart Goblin. An excellent representation of her current situation. Starting from nothing, giving her enemies something nice but gaining something in return. Leaving her horrible aunt and uncle would have made them happy, she was sure, so learning that she'd at least thrive from it was nice.

A perfect reading. Even the positioning was great! Victory through renewal, a dip in prosperity, unfair decisions leading to trouble, and a new start for everyone. She was content with that, but she wished it had been better for her. So she decided to check a card, not for the reading, but to just see what fate had in store in the moment.

Luna placed her hand on the rest of her deck, and closed her eyes. She slowly pulled the top card off the pile... And opened her eyes.

Juragedo... She'd be helping someone soon, in a big way, it seemed.

Hmmm...Yeah, for action duels, maybe just use it for deck shuffling (unless we're heart of the cards-ing those since they're PVE) and use it for the usual kind of duels otherwise? I don't remember Duelingbook having a time limit, and while there is a chat system I don't know if it lets viewers talk in it. (The reason I'm pointing to Duelingbook instead of other programs is that it's all manual, and you can make custom cards on it because of this, so it seems to fit well.) The big issue would be having to RP it out as the duel goes on so we could copy-paste it all into a collab, then do any edits necessary as a duo before one of the two duelists posts it.

@Double
Well, Darkness Metal Dragon is a fantastic card so obvious it would be really good in any dragon deck, but maybe add it back in and then he builds a red-eyes deck as the RP goes on? Alternatively, there are less situational ways to handle a Horus Synchro if you decide you want that concept. I just thought that since it'd be really strong it would make sense to have it be a "Majestic Dragon" Synchro.
Marrie Knight

As Marrie got to the group of homeless, she felt nothing but elation that her attack hadn't killed any of them. Bonus points for it taking out what definitely looked like contaminated water. It wasn't until she was three people deep into the group of homeless that her mood soured from having a chair swung at her head. It was easy enough to block, but the timing was terrible as she got punched from her blindspot and was quickly overwhelmed, knocked prone on the ground.

A shitty situation, but she was given a little happiness from having been practicing a little in the past few weeks; she felt like she had a way out, if only she could think straight for half a second without being pummeled again. Before she could even put effort towards getting herself out of the mess, suddenly there was electricity covering her. But instead of the pain she expected, probably similar to the incident with Sofron, she was met with a rush of relief as some of her injuries were healed.

"GO! NOW!"

Didn't have to tell her twice.

{Silver Self - Flight}

In the moment that her assailants were distracted by the attack, she pushed herself up with all of her strength as she cast a melody, flying several yards into the air. While she would have preferred to be a good distraction, her apparent savior wanted her to stick close to him, so she obliged. As fast as she could, she flew over and attempted to strike from behind at the same target he was engaging.

Still though, in the moment that she was mid-air she decided that she would use her Instrument to its advantage. She was poised to stab through the chest of the paleguard, but was prepared to release her grip from Apexer Predator's hilt and fly backwards out of reach if it managed to deflect her attack. Perhaps she'd finally get a use out of its Heavenly Chain, though hopefully she wouldn't.

@RickyG85
All of that sounds good, but if I were to make a suggestion, it would be to have pvp duels be done in some dueling program, like Duelingbook, if it's supposed to be an actual duel. On the one hand, this allows for a legit duel to happen, meaning luck plays a large part and there's no fudging of the game. On the other, it'd be tougher to write the duel if you know how it happened from beginning to end, unless you write as the duel goes on. Another thing to factor in would be if the opponents are collabing or writing post by post for a duel, since that could influence whether using a program is a good idea or not. And if nothing else, like King Cosmos said, a program would at least shuffle the deck for us and let us know what our hand and field are at a given time.
But since it's less "regular" dueling, I don't know how effective that would be.
@Double
Ah. Alright, wasn't sure if that was why or not.
@Double
For a Horus deck, it looks like you're forgoing a lot of its support cards, if those interest you at all. As for a new custom card... Maybe a special card?
- Since there's only one custom card per player, a Ritual is out.
- Fusion would be a little weird for a deck based around a single monster leveling up.
- Synchro would need a tuner, but since lvl 10+ is god territory anyway, maybe a level 10 synchro? I'll come back to this in a moment.
- XYZ would need multiple level 8s, which without going through your whole deck list, I don't know how plausible that is.
- Pendulum is useless in a deck with only one pendulum monster.
- Link maybe? A link 3 or 4 Horus that requires Horus Lvl 8 to be one of its chain links? That's a little more complex to come up with than the other kinds, though.

Maybe something like:

Then it's just throw in Majestic Dragon, and 1+ Tuners such as Rider of the Storm Winds to buff out the possibility of sychroing with lower than level 8 Horus.
