Hmm.

It was hard to tell what Suparna was expecting from her strikes; what she got in return for landing such blows was a loud and extravagant roar. It bellowed so hard the very snow beneath the maggot girl’s feet threatened to cave in and crumble as the mighty elephant warrior screeched right into her face. All around it would echo in her ears, a death knell to discourage the foolish warrior that sought to defeat it in battle.

If anything, Suparna’s strikes made the beast angrier and although it slowed it down a little, the axe was brought up again and ready to strike downwards in retribution. However, Suparna was not alone in this brawl to the death; something the elephant warrior was acutely aware of. Little did the dragon know that the pommel of another axe would be on its way, slamming into her gut and smashing her against the ground so hard the snow did crackle at this point.

Was it a second beast come to join its comrade? Or was it a weapon belonging to something much, much worse? As the snow storm cleared a little and visibility was granted, the answer became horrifyingly clear. Jointed to the elephant warrior’s backside was the torso and upper-body of another. Jointed together by four dominating legs, both sides of the same beast snarled angrily at the two girls.

Axes gripped in both hands, the four-legged monster slowly began to twist and turn. Gaining momentum and having stunned the two fighters, each side of the elephant let loose a swing of their axes. In short time, they had become a spinning whirlwind of blades and death. Worse yet was their trampling trunk legs; if the blades didn’t chop Diana and Suparna, then they would surely be crushed to death.

With their group moving further into Diana’s home, more and more pieces of the puzzle were being put together. What Gradon was expecting for an answer was not the case because Diana had dropped some pretty important news. The boy had to blink and think for a second. It had been this girl that had been the disturbance in the forest? Not the Banshee? But how?

Well apparently, Diana was a dragon and that wasn’t just bluff. He didn’t outright claim this as false like Ires had nor was he as eager to see the transformation as some of his peers. As always, Leblanc seemed to be the only one with common sense on the mind, making Gradon frown. Dragon or not, Diana was claiming to be the cause for their mission. They would need to negotiate avoiding more problems in the future.

Before any of this could be validated, Diana was already leading them back outside. It seemed she had some dragon arrogance if she really felt the need to prove herself. Still, it was a sight to behold and Gradon watched with equal amazement from his comrades as Diana stripped and turned into a golden lizard with wings. A dragon, real and breathing right before them; so she was the cause for their mission.

“Miss Diana? With all due respect, there’s still the matter of what to do about this. We were sent to destroy the creature disturbing the wildlife here and, well, you seem nice enough where we can just discuss something,” Gradon said, hoping his voice could reach the dragon’s ears. “Would you mind changing back so we can do just that?”

Alright, this was getting too weird. Ruxen’s fur bristled in spiky segments and she could only gawk at Pink’s sheer boldness and lack of shame. She considered kicking her in the face again but that would just spurn on the pink-haired wolf more. Stuck in a stupor, she begrudgingly allowed herself to take it while her discomfort grew with each passing second.

“That’s enough Pink. You’ve had your fill,” came Deva’s voice. A quick look confirmed her eyes were still closed, but her command had been given, much to Ruxen’s relief. If Pink would not stop of her own accord than it was to be expected for Chen to become involved. Neither of them wanted Iona to have to step in so it had better happen quickly for both fronts.

While that tension boiled in Heaven’s throne chambers, a much more literal approach to conflict would be greetings those that entered Valhalla’s veils. For while although Diana and Suparna found themselves alone for now, they would enjoy that luxury no longer, not when the weather began to pick up. Scathing winds kicked up the dust and ice around them until a vortex of snow blinded their vision on all sides.

The clerk had warned of horrors that dwelled in these lands, some who were all too willing to worship the Angel of Death. One could assume only the most ferocious of what the Nexus had to offer were blessed with eternal battle after all. Indeed, like a great maw that rose out from the snow came a lumbering shadow that easily towered over the two girls. They would be unable to see their new adversay until the massive war axe rained down on them like steel rain.

In other places, events were also unfolding, some with varying importance and some of leisure activity. Within Hell, Ira stared long and hard at Khaine before smirking. “Well, you’re not wrong on both of those accounts. Welcome back then fallen knight. It would be wise to prepare yourself for the next battle. Maybe even make a few…friends for your stay down here,” Ira said, smirk maintaining.

And in the Happy Verse, Miyu and Lilian would find the cafe that the glasses girl had mentioned to them before. Among the workers were…well, cats. Cats of the feline variety. There were also a bunch of monster girls and boys also filling out their orders, the scents of food and brewed caffeine wafting close to the library.
I'll see about posting around the middle of the coming week.
Welcome back.
