Slowly -- but surely -- coming back from a long hiatus.

Better known by the name of Tsu. An "advanced" roleplayer with at least five years of experience on/off. In real life, he is a college student studying in Asia, majoring in design-related fields. Outside of this site, he's also a hopeless poet and an indie writer currently working on his first book (as and when he has the time and inspirations to write something). He is also active in the Harry Potter fandom through participating in fanfic competitions/challenges and building connections with gift fics.

INTP; a Pottermore-certified Slytherin but identifies himself as a Slytherclaw who is both witty and ambitious. Considers himself a Denpa Otaku -- a fan of animanga, visual novels and JRPGs, and he's as opinionated about what he likes and dislikes as every other fan out there.

This almost slipped from my mind but...

Happy Halloween, minions.

No costume from moi because we don't really celebrate this day here in my region, yeah.
First off,
The starter post is finally up!

Players whose characters are already approved may start posting your first IC.

Not trying to be a dick or Nazi or whatever... I do spot typos here and there in some of your CS (not counting your samples as that's beyond my area of authority) but they are accepted on the bigger count that you guys are indeed well-versed with the characters you have chosen to assume. However, I do expect you guys to have personal pride in your writing and do your part to always proofread your IC posts, taking the initiative to go back and edit them (even backdated ones) whenever you spot a mistake. Missing out one or two minor typos is fine, but I really don't want to go to the point where I have to poke you to go back and recheck your writing if there are loads of glaring mistakes.

No worries, I'm only "strict" with IC - as said in my OOC the level of this RP is not your usual kind and somewhat similar to novel standard. For OOC...eh why would I want to be a Nazi here anyway? In fact, I encourage randomness, though please don't cross too far and get into trouble with general forum rules (no dramas and bullcraps, you should know). We don't want a mod to come after our asses, right? XD

Ryu and I are also discussing about some mystery elements we might want to experiment with in this RP (hey, this game has the word "Enigma" in the title, so that's a dead giveaway haha). Inspired from whodunits and murder mystery games, we might PM different players with bits of the upcoming GM event info - it's up to you whether you want to include them into your character arcs or not. Some of these pieces may be clues that would lead up to the revelation of the event climax, while others may be red herrings that may or may not affect your character's choices later on. To use crude analogy, imagine the GM event as the main story quest, your miniworld as side story quest, and the PM info is bonus quest.

As we are probably not going to get any more new players, the GMs may tag this RP as 'full' and simply go with the existing players we have here so far. We will also allow existing players to take up one more character only after their first character has been established in the IC. After which, all remaining open characters will be used for GM purposes.

Haven't been able to read or post all week, I'm doing a transitional education class. I should be good by this weekend maybe.

No worries - my RL has been pretty hectic the past couple of weeks too (hence the epic-delay on this RP).

@A Common Hero
A gaming friend of mine read your Cloud CS, and she was wondering if you have plans to also include the part where Cloud took on Zack's "memories" - there was a time when he thought he was Zack and acted like him, even going as far as trying to flirt with Aerith - other than his former childish, naive self and the later "emo" image. :)

@Phillirino
Was going to reply to your PM but RL took longer to sort out that expected...

Anyway, the GMs will green-light your CS latest tomorrow, so after that you can move it to the Character tab and start posting in the IC! :D

@KoL@Crimson Raven@Archangel89
Just checking on how are the progress of your CS?

EDIT: Oh yeah...
Happy Halloween to you guys! (I totally forgot about this because we don't really celebrate this day in my region.)

Who needs "meta-effective weapons" when you can just punch them!

Alright correction: how about anti-meta badass junk? XD
<Snipped quote by Mr Allen J>

We do need a healer

I just had a random thought of someone who can transfer injuries from one person to another. Like I said, it's random, so whether it's feasible or not I didn't think to much about that lol.

<Snipped quote by tsukune>

I think there's a certain charm to characters who are so capable in their own right that they're able to take on metas. Also, I'd imagine that normals recruited by NEST would've particularly stood out as skilled in their dealings with metahumans.

After the whole thingy with HoS I think NEST needs a new person to help them invent meta-effective weapons. Not saying we have to go with the stereotypical mad scientist type tho'.
Group size: I normally tend to stay away from large groups unless it's sandbox style. Otherwise 1x1s or maybe 3-player group. Reason in next section.

RP level: definitely Advanced. Free and Casual are too fast-paced for my biweekly posting schedule, and the standard is a little too low for my comfort.

Face claims: I have no probs with using anime or real images but just like how people don't like animanga for "real" RPs, it's a pet peeve of mine to see people using realistic photos for anime/game RP. If not just do the good ol' written description for character appearance and everything is cool. Not much of a fan of those who simply dump a pic and that's all to the character's looks.

Genre...well, most peeps here were talking about it even though the OP explicitly said not to (even with underlines). Anyway, I want to try to broaden my RP horizon but there are some that would turn me off (not going to name them here - if you really want to know ask me directly instead).
5 Centimeters per Second - Love is bittersweet. Forget about love, period. Love is shiet. Now get over it before you ruin your damned life.
NEST does let baseline humans join their ranks.

Awesome. It's fun to think about possible powers for meta characters, but playing normal people is equally challenging especially in an environment where they can be easily killed in one snap by the metas.

I have a few thoughts, but probably PM you instead to discuss how plausible these ideas are first.
Anyone have any ideas for some NEST NPCs?

Maybe I can come up with one...tomorrow, where I have more free time and I'll also put up my first post.

I did have plans to reveal their aunt - Akemi - as a meta after my arc had developed quite a bit, but originally I didn't want her to be involved in NEST at all... Power wise, force field projectile is listed in my draft plan for now, but I'm open to change it to other abilities that are more useful to NEST.

Otherwise, not sure if NEST does allow non-metahumans to work for them now, especially with the manpower shortage and social unrest (naturals and metas alike) after the scandal with HoS?
Oh wow, what a coincidence! Suga is also one of my favorites from Haikyuu because of similar reasons as yours - though I also like the volleyball genius nerd Kageyama.

Sorry that my progress is so slow. Now my RPing is restricted to weekends. RL has been taking up more of my personal time than I intended.
Whether to stick to canon down to the last letter or to totally ditch the existence of such lore, like @Altered Tundra had said, it greatly depends on which route the GM and players choose to take. I feel that most people wouldn't want to follow the canon like a law book nor completely ignoring the lore that is laid right in front of them, which means we will have to try to find a balance of both that best suits the goal of the RP is heading for.

If we choose to stick with canon word for word, most of us would feel suffocated and stressed over spending too much time to extra researches; it may giving rise to unnecessary debates among players on which is the "correct" lore. On the other hand, being overly slack would introduce too much chaotic elements that would also cause unwanted squabbles between the members over uncertainties.

To use crude analogy, imagine a fandom RP like building a house: the canon info acts like the base pillars, the main support frame of the structure, while "original" elements supplied by both GMs and players alike - the what-ifs that gave birth to the fandom RP idea - are the remaining parts that will build up this house. With strong foundation from the basic canon stuff and constructive contributions from members, chances of completing this house would be much higher; otherwise, it will collapse easily, like those numerous RPs that simply die off on a bad note.

I'm currently running a fandom RP with hopes to break (or at least, stretch the limits of) this barrier: it's fandom, the canon stuffs are there, but players are challenged to deconstruct and rebuild the canon, creating complex and surrealistic "miniworlds" set within the omniverse (a generic base) provided by the GMs. Somewhat similar to the Tim Burton's example, but way more intense. ;)
