Slowly -- but surely -- coming back from a long hiatus.

Better known by the name of Tsu. An "advanced" roleplayer with at least five years of experience on/off. In real life, he is a college student studying in Asia, majoring in design-related fields. Outside of this site, he's also a hopeless poet and an indie writer currently working on his first book (as and when he has the time and inspirations to write something). He is also active in the Harry Potter fandom through participating in fanfic competitions/challenges and building connections with gift fics.

INTP; a Pottermore-certified Slytherin but identifies himself as a Slytherclaw who is both witty and ambitious. Considers himself a Denpa Otaku -- a fan of animanga, visual novels and JRPGs, and he's as opinionated about what he likes and dislikes as every other fan out there.

Roleplay invitation is strictly reserved for close friends and peers only, for now. I'm too busy to join big, open groups at the moment.

I do need to get back to the habit of reading to get out of my block slump, but I wonder if I've set my level so high that 99% of the stories I read online make me cringe and eventually I began to give up reading fictions.
<Snipped quote by tsukune>

I know a fair few schools are failing students for txt-tlk use in exams, assignments and essays. Sadly though, the trend started with people trying to fit a message into a limited character space on the old Nokia phones in order to save money on pre paid plans, and it's just evolved to what it has become now.

Funny how technology seems to make more people stupid to so many things...

Now that we don't really have character limit for messaging services like WhatsApp etc., it's no longer about saving money.

People are just plain lazy and expect instant response.

I mean, using one or two short forms here and there is fine, but at least make an effort to let the other party to be able to easily and quickly understand you.
My biggest issue isn't so much other people but more myself. It feels like 99% of the time I know what I want to write but I can't put it into words.

Its feels like I am trying to use a foreign language at times.

For me, half the time I actually had to mentally translate what I want to write to English...

The woe of being multilingual.

@HaleyTheRandom To answer Haley, there's....virtually nothing that original anymore. It is a pain in the gonads to be accused of plagiarism yes, but the thing is alot of writers plagiarize without even knowing. Sure they could try to spruce it up and add their own original ideas to a tried and tested formula, but when it all comes down to it, a pig with makeup is still a pig...just now with a crossdressing fetish andNOIDON'TKNOWWHATI'MGOINGONABOUTGOAWAY!

The point is, it's difficult for many writers to come up with anything that is 100% smack-dab original, and yes, while there are a ton of talented writers here on RP, I still find myself saying sometimes I know I've seen this somewhere before.

I dunno about you guys, but I believe that there is no such thing as absolute originality. Unless you're capable to churning out something out of completely nothing, even the most talented writers have to get their inspirations from something/somewhere/someone that are already in existence.

Also, there are things called "common sense", "social norm", "humanity" etc. that are the cage to our creativity - in which many people have tried to break them, but we still continue to live our lives within the walls of these rules.
<Snipped quote>

I've seen this kind of text on my Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and when I browse Tumblr as a guest or just around the internet and I've wondered so many times if this is the new way to write now.

It's my biggest pet peeve and wonder if it's anyone's too.

But then I get frustrated and say, maybe I should give in too since I get tired of typing so formally.

I feel you - and personally there's a huge difference between typing casually (yo bud, sorry busy today) and liek tis wut i dun evn gt y sho lazy cnt txt prply oi.

If you're too lazy to type properly, then I'm too lazy to waste my time cracking my poor brain to read your crappy typo. Duh.

And if seeing that in social media messages isn't bad enough, there are even people are writing stories (fan fictions and also original works) exactly like that.

Not just English - even other languages like Chinese and Japanese too. I can't keep up with all these modern language trends - and I don't get the hype behind them either.
Speaking of which, for the next post, me and Defacto are doing a collab for our characters as they try to escape Vert. Does anyone want in? There's defo parts for more.

I might - originally I wanted to do a solo post first before going into a collab with anyone, but unfortunately I fell sick over the weekend...

"Fancy joining us for breakfast, Miyu?" Perseus' innocent invitation made Miyu froze in his tracks. Is this guy actually serious? He was even more amused (or rather, horrified) that he was completely oblivious to his Slytherin sister's apparent unwillingness. He hated to admit it, but this junior was really growing into him. Maybe he should consider getting him to take over his troublemaking business.

"Plans are boring indeed," he echoed after the fourth-year, mimicking his tone. "Should we drag her to our house table, or should we crash her house table instead?"

"The Gryffindor's." Perseus' reply was immediate, without a second thought. "I'm craving for pumpkin juice today."

That made the older boy raised an eyebrow. Now wasn't the time to poke fun at Perseus' taste for drinks. "Right. After you then, Perce." Falling behind the siblings, he quickly slipped his wand out of his long-sleeve into his back pocket, silently cursing to himself at how the nice little brother was making him feeling guilty about trying to jinx his precious (not to mention, always sulking, he thought) sister.

Wearing a colorful mask

As I bite a mouthful of fruit
Isn't it great that it's not that bad?
Miyu Kisaragi hovered a little higher above the rest of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, enjoying the brief sensation of the chilly autumn wind against his face before the Keeper and newly-appointed Captain, Kas Scarlett, yelled at him to get down. As he descended slowly he watched his the other players focusing their attention on the fourth-year Perseus Holt, the rising star Seeker in their team, exchanging high-fives and shoulder pats before they broke up to take up their positions.

The sixth-year Japanese wizard cared little about glory and fame, but he had his fair share of dangerous stunts during the matches, courtesy of his martial arts background and natural agility. He could have competed for the Seeker position with the Holt boy, but Miyu was content with his current role as the fastest (not to mention, slyest) Chaser of the year.

He let his mind drift, leaving his hard-wired physical reflexes to deal with the mundane practice; his dark eyes scanned the cheering crowd at the stands before they focused on one particular person sitting with crossed arms at the Slytherin side. His thin lips curled to a thoughtful smirk - it's her.

Atlas Holt, the older sister of Perseus - and a persistent detention partner at the caretaker's office.

"Kisaragi!" A nagging voice brought his mind back to the pitch. He turned his head - to see a very annoyed Kas. "You can pick your girlfriends later. Now focus on here!"

He rolled his eyes at her - sometimes he wondered how Kas ended up in Gryffindor, with her overprotectiveness and tendency to poke her nose into everyone and anyone's businesses. Well, at least she has some sense of humor, even if it's just a bit.

By the time Miyu's two feet touched down on the firm grassy ground, he was feeling rather worn out and hungry (mental note: he should probably pretend to be sick for the next practice match). He quickly changed out of his Quidditch robes for dress shirt and jeans, thinking about what he should get for breakfast later at the Great Hall when he spotted his main source of entertainment outside. He pulled out his wand and pointed at her carefully from the shadows: Levicorp---

"Hey." He jumped to his feet when a voice from behind called out at him. "What are you doing there?"

He quickly hid his wand into his long sleeve and turned around slowly - to face a curious Perseus. "Nothing," he replied with a weak grin, then dropped the pretense when it was obvious that his junior wasn't buying it. He jerked his right thumb at the slim figure leaning against the wall. "Your precious sister is waiting for you. I don't get it - why do you always bring her to our practices? Her body language practically screams that she hates Quidditch." He then held up his hands. "I'm not saying that she's a spy or anything, but you better lead her away from here before she lashes out her bottled frustration on me."

"Huh?"

"Let's just say that things are...complicated between me and her." He gave Perseus a wink before he pushed the confused fourth-year towards where Atlas was and left, whistling to himself softly. So close...
Heeeya peeps.

Just dropping a quick note that I am still in this game. Also just to reiterate that I'm on an internship assignment for at least a month, so RP activities are cut down to weekends.

Probably would start working on the twin's solo post tomorrow, or if anyone wants a collab you can poke me with a mention.
