It's normal for most gamers to be egoistic - well, who play to lose anyway - but when their pride becomes so swollen that they refuse to admit that it's not a game they could win easily and blame everything but themselves.

There's this guy in my class who is a self-proclaimed pro in rhythm games - even saying that all rhythm games are a piece of cake - but when he couldn't even get at least 10 combos on the game I was playing (what's more, he only tried twice) he was damn quick to call my game a shit game.

Dude, you are no fucking god of games. Is it so difficult to admit that we would usually take some time to get used to the different game systems before we can start winning like a boss?

What is one prevailing trait or element in your RP characters?

They have an asshole for a father. Seriously, every single character I have made, regardless whether they were introverted/extroverted, sweet, dickheads, impulsive, placid, or whatever, they all have the common denominator of having a dickhead/asshole of a father that either neglected them, abused them physically/mentally/emotionally, or just didn't put them as his priority.

With narcissistic mothers (and even sisters). Who would abuse my main characters to no end to satisfy their vain needs.

(I'm not a misogynist, but there's a need to balance out dick dads with bitch mums.)

But in all honesty, anime (or even some video games) should stay as they are meant to be. Even if someone has the money and manpower to dump in loads of ridiculous CGI... just to make me go blind with the flash bangs.

(Unless it's something like FF7 Advent Children level. The graphics, action and music somewhat made up for the non-existent plot... yeah.)

Term break is finally around the corner - to keep things moving I miiiiiiiight as well play a character and unleash hell on the rest of you muwahahahaha.

Also, if no one has any burning side plots to contribute (idk, like some monster encounter or dungeon wipeout or whatever) I'll just go ahead and shove in my next planned stuff.

On a side note... I'm excited for the Mobius FF x FFXIII collab for the mobile game - can't imagine my character wearing the Lightning costume tho' (he's a dude).

@tanderbolt I'm inspired to write six-word stories because of Hemmingway. It's actually really fun, to be able to write a quirky story with only so little words (I've been having fun to write a Harry Potter fan fiction using this style). I used to do flash fictions in Chinese, and maybe I should give it a try again, but this time in English.

Really appreciate your suggestions - I'm adding them to my reading list. :D

@The Harbinger of Ferocity Aw. Please don't feel that way - it's good that you have a much stronger grasp of the English language than I do (at least, this is how I feel whenever I read your writing). Even if I can understand a multitude of languages... well, as the saying goes: "Jack of all trades, but a master of none". ^^;

Coming back to what this thread is supposedly meant for...

Less about others, but more to myself. Seriously, slang is the hardest part to understand in any language. Worse when I can't tell that my character's dialogue sounds horribly awkward and I have to ask the natives to point them out to me. XD
One way I curb this is to actually read what I've written out aloud to feel whether it sounds weird, but ultimately English is not my native tongue, so there are times when something sounds perfectly fine to me is actually funny and wrong to the natives.
