Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Konpaku Youmu

To be honest, there was a great deal of things happening right now that Youmu didn't entirely understand. She was hardly unaware of how things were run in Gensokyo, but this seemed markedly different. Still, she understood the situation itself. This... was not the world she knew. Somehow, universes had been connected in a way that would allow people from them to be transported between different worlds. This was another version of the world she knew. The same went for nearly everyone here. And this, naturally, was dangerous. This world didn't seem prepared for many of the threats present in different universes on its own. No, what the half-phantom girl didn't understand was just who all these other people were. Things were happening quite quickly, and to put it simply there had been no time for proper introductions. Certainly, Youmu had introduced herself with a bow, but there did not seem to be time for proper introductions on the part of the many individuals representing... different countries, perhaps? Was that the function they were serving?

There wasn't any further time to wonder, however.

Youmu knew that hole in the air. The purple void filled with unblinking eyes. The deep pit of blackness was familiar to her, after all, the one who controlled such a space was a frequent guest at Hakugyokurou.

"Yakumo-sama?!" Youmu almost immediately shot to her feet, placing a hand on Roukanken's hilt as she did. This was... this was strange, why was she here? Who... who was that?

The girl in some sort of military outfit...

There was silence for several moments, aside from the words of the silver-haired girl known as Altair and the white-haired girl who introduced herself as Elizabeth. Then, as swiftly as they had appeared, they were gone.

And then, next to her ear, another gap.

Yakumo Yukari's words.

"... Y... Yuyuko... -sama...?"

For a moment, the fact that Yakumo had been rather calm and unconcerned and that there must be a reason for that didn't sink in. All that reached Youmu, after everything, was the fact that Yuyuko had disappeared. A feeling like sinking lead hit the small girl in the chest. Yuyuko-sama... had disappeared. Dully, Youmu sat down, eyes fixed ahead. No... what had happened? What had happened to the one she served with all her heart? Where had she gone? Certainly, Youmu's deepest desire had been to return home, but if Yuyuko was not there, if she could not return to Yuyuko-sama's side...

Needless to say, it was obvious that Youmu was distraught over the news. Perhaps, if she thought for a moment, she'd realize in all likelyhood Yuyuko was in this world...

But even then, what if she wasn't?

"Skills..."

This looked like the field outside their last raid, to Vanyra, but she couldn't exactly guarantee though. How would she activate her skills? If she had them, that was. She felt her fangs with her teeth... what else could this be? It was hard to understand what was happening, but how would she turn on her skills if she had them?

... How could she deal with being a girl, for that matter? This was... this was...

In the middle of trying to figure out how to get her skills activated, the vampire raised her hand.

The moment she desired it, a menu, formed from red light, spawned in front of of her.

Vanyra Briarheart Rozenkreuzlite

Class: High Vampire

HP: 50000/50000

After a few moments, she was able to switch between screens in her menu, viewing her full inventory, equip menu, PMs, and skills. It was all there, just like in the game. But now...

Now it was real.
Mordred

"Tch."

It was clear that he hadn't known a single thing about the relationship between a Master and a Servant. 'Enslaved'? That was a laugh. Mordred had been summoned because she wanted to be. She remained loyal to her Master because it was what she chose to do. The circumstances with her temporary Master were markedly different, but Evangeline hardly seemed to expect much from her aside from preventing her death. This wasn't an issue at all.

Before Private Minami could say much of anything, the Red Knight was already making her way back to the sewers. As Alberich tried to give her some kind of talk about some kind of nonsense, trying to assume he knew what her thoughts were, knew what she wanted, she simply gave him a quick, sharp look.

"I don't have time to kick your ass right now," the blonde said, before jumping back down the hole. They had that weird slimy thing to take care of before it could hurt anybody.

Vita

Vita glanced towards her current ally. She'd never met him before in her life, even prior to being summoned by Hayate. From what she understood, they had come from entirely different universes. There was no way they could have met. And to be frank, she didn't exactly feel like talking to him anyway.

"I've never met you before today," she replied, shrugging her shoulders and resting her hammer on her shoulder. There were no more enemies now... wait... what was... Nanoha was running off? Almost immediately Vita went to follow her...

And when they arrived, it was clear that Nanoha had run off before actually thinking, having seen the glimpse of the scythe and not much else. This... certainly was not Fate Testarossa. She was tall. Very tall. Tall was a bit of an understatement, really, given she was absolutely giant. Over four meters tall, snow-white hair, a long, fluffy white tail... this person was very obviously not human.

"... Don't be stupid, Nanoha," Vita complained as she stepped forward, looking up at the huge girl.

"Who are you?"

To clarify, this was discussed beforehand and everyone agreed. ^^;
Mordred

The Red Knight was done with words.

Before Menomaru could finish gloating over his supposed victorious position, red lightning crackled around Mordred's body and she hurled herself through the air. The moths around her were torn apart by the wave of prana erupting off of her body, as she landed firmly on the roof of the van with her free hand drawing back and curled into a fist, her armored feet denting the top of the vehicle from the impact. As the Mothman attempted to back off the roof, clearly unprepared for the knight to get there quite so fast, her fist launched foreward and struck him directly in the face with a crack! The impact sent him reeling and barely landing on his feet as he fell off.

Mordred quickly followed.

"A shameful coward who tries to backstab a knight," Mordred spat as she advanced, "Is gonna die a coward's death!"

What followed was swift and brutal.

Her first thrust was deflected, the mothman swiftly attempting to reach the van once more. Presumably to take a hostage.

Just like she expected a coward to do!

Whirling, Mordred lashed out with a shout, her blade biting through his chest before he could turn, prana flowing across the edges of the weapon as it tore clear through his body and out his back! The momentum from her thrust carried the demon upwards for a moment before she slammed him down hard enough to crater the concrete beneath them. The impact caused another eruption of red lightning, blasting an even wider, smoking hole through the moth demon's chest!

Clarent was yanked from the smoking concrete.

"Tch," Mordred flicked her blade to the side as the crackling red light faded, "Bastard."

@Dezuel@PKMNB0Y
@KoL: I don't mind her having some setup time prior to the RP, that's fairly normal for a Master in a Grail War.
"Ah... the Immortal Knight!" The Earl of Brennan exclaimed, "Now this is quite a surprise! Why ever have you come to my fair town?"

He paused for a moment, his expression one of befuddlement as Tyaethe placed his hand directly onto her blood-soaked breastplate.

"... If you believe your armor is in need of cleaning, I would be happy to provided the services of my Servants," he declared, with a good-natured smile(though not without confusion, he didn't seem to understand just why Tyaethe had placed his hand upon her armor). As Fanilly recalled, none of this behavior was particularly strange for the Earl Edoric, save for the fact that it was completely out of place in this situation. And yet he looked fully aware of his surroundings, and he was rather young for his mind to be faded already. He was by no means a young man, but he was also not of an especially advanced age either.

"Of course, if you take my offer, perhaps you can ask them where my sword is? I haven't seen it in two weeks, and they insist it is by the side of my throne," Edoric Achter added, "I would have docked their earnings, if not for the fact they seem adamant about it. Perhaps they have been subject to some kind of magic spell?"

Fanilly paused for a moment. Indeed, sheathed and leaning against the throne, was the sword of Edoric Achter. It was an enormous blade, and from what the girl could recall the Earl of Brennan preferred to have it by his side at all times. "... Earl Achter, your blade is by the side of your throne."

Edoric Achter immediately looked disbelieving, before looking to the side of his throne.

"... I'm certain your mind has not been magically addled as well, young Captain Danbalion, but don't you think playing tricks is unbecoming of your position?" he began, with a hearty laugh. "... For that matter, you have all come here unarmed! How ever could there have been a battle?"

There was no mistaking it. Fanilly was certain, now, that there had been some sort of magical interference in the Earl of Achter's mind. It was the only explanation.

"Uwah!"

Feeree was sent reeling through the air, only to be caught by Kopuro. The fairy quickly held her forehead, wincing.

"Ow ow ow ow ow..."she winced, as her friend stroked at her hair with a frown. Moments later, Kopuro was glaring at the perpetrator.

"Hey! I know Feeree is in idiot, but was that really necessary?!" she called, one arm around her friend's waist as if supporting her(even though they were both still very much in the air, rendering such support largely unecessary). "It's not like she didn't already get it was stupid after she learned that lady was bad!"

For a few moments, Feeree was silent.

"... I-I'm not sure I really want you defending me, Kopuro..." she mumbled, before responding to the question that had been asked of her. "Um... there was a lot of commotion afterwards, so if it was a battle that must have been after she asked me about a good spot."

Meanwhile, a few of the fairies had been scared off by the new arrivals, but for the most part they were rather inquisitively flittering around, investigating the knights who had arrived. A few of them were, perhaps, getting a little too close to pockets and pouches.

Mordred

Alberich was ignored. Not only was Mordred too angry to listen, not only was she hardly about to follow his orders, but that slime thing was moving at a snail's pace. Menomaru came first. Menomaru was going to die. Reaching the manhole, the red knight swiftly sprang upwards, clearing the hole entirely as she landed on the surface. She was going to kill him. She was going to cut him down. That bastard she'd never trusted at any point, not after he tried to flood a park with poison regardless of anyone else who was there. And now he'd tried to stab her in the back like a dirty coward!

He was going to regret it. Immediately on spotting the moth bastard, Mordred raised Clarent and made right for him.

"I'll kill you!"

Meanwhile, Minami was in the van, using monitoring the situation as best she could from her position. When she heard the commotion from outside, she looked up.

@Dezuel
@KoL: I encourage people to have their summons have occurred before the Holy Grail War began.

Though that also doesn't mean all of them need to be done already either.
@CrystalApple: Go ahead!
