Man, I can't remember the last time I saw an OOC this active on here. It's been a long time...
Im going to get a post together in a few hours but as we've gotten to our starters - I want to give an early heads up so no one "Jasons" off (inside joke about Zark moving ahead of the rest really fast):

Faye is going to ask everyone to get together for a group picture. Just so no one feels left out not knowing that offer is coming. Momentous occasions and whatnot.....

Jason's already gone XD

As he and the other two spoke, sharing stories and hitting it off quite well (I hope), he noticed the ginger haired woman approaching the group, getting distracted for a moment before he slapped himself and immediately started doing push-ups while he listened to her speak and identify herself. "She's one of the region's heroes, she's in charge of the league, and she's older than you," he muttered quietly so no one else would hear. As she finished, so did his push-ups and Jason stands, bushes his hands off, and follows the rest of the group further in. The Pokémon lab was about what the aspiring trainer expected it to be but, not quite matching expectations, was that it was unexpectedly empty, no aids, no other scientists or any of the hustle and bustle he'd come to expect due to his visits to Professor Birch's lab with his uncle. Maybe it's because Evig's whole system is still new? Surely he'll get more staff eventually. Then came the professor and his attitude, with consideration for how new Evig's lab looked to be, was a perfect match for Jason's revised expectations. Well, maybe he expected the man to sleep a bit more, but that wasn't his business.

The following argument between the director and Professor Kapoc did draw a chuckle from Jason as he watched it unfold, he could tell the two of them knew each other well. Just as the aspiring champion was about to ask if it was absolutely necessary for Champion Adrianne to be present, a 'speak of the devil' moment occurred as she came rushing in, spilling a story about going to get donuts and drawing a hearty laugh from Jason at the absurdity of it all, but also of relief that, despite their important positions, the three well known heroes of the Evig region were still pretty normal people.

Jason had had the opportunity to briefly speaking with Adrianne a few months prior and the encounter had already given him the sense that despite her title, she was still just a person, far more normal than most of the region would have attributed her to being, but this confirmed it. Guess when you're a hero to a bunch of people, the idea of you being normal doesn't occur to them anymore.

The Hoenn native attributed his ability to see them as the normal people they were to his being from outside the region, but he didn't voice it, knowing that all around him were Evig natives who saw this trio as an unflappable line of defense should Cipher resurface. Once all the introductions were out of the way, Steph approached him and complimented him on his form, causing Jason to smile as he shook her hand again. "Right, earlier. First, pleasure to meet you, Steph. I'm Jason Connor and I look forward to seeing which of us becomes Champion," he says with a grin before she moves on.

The area they're lead to with many biomes drew an impressed whistle from the Hoenn native as he watches the Pokemon running around. "Man...Professors in other regions got nothing on this set up," the aspiring champ whispers to himself. Kapoc essentially dismissed them to retrieve the pokeball with their name on it from the table and Jason followed the others. He noticed his name and the ball next to it and picked it up, turning the item over in his hand as he moved away from the group to a more open area. "My partner huh..." In Hoenn everyone who started a journey basically got the same starter choices and the groups were much smaller than this, but the size and potential variety made the Hoenn native feel more excited. "Alright, partner, get on out here," he says with as he spins the ball on one finger and than throws it. A light floods from the ball and deposits a Ralts in front of Jason, except instead of the usual green head, it was blue, causing Jason to stare in disbelief.

"Hey Professor Kapoc, you're aware this Ralts is super uncommon right?!" I call over to the three adults.
And now the question becomes...who wants to join Jason going back to the future.

Jason was in the midst of his third repetition of his second kata when the first person spoke to him, asking about the forms and if he was into them. "Not like this no," he answers as he delivers a knife hand strike and flows into another block, "I'm usually more about shadow boxing and practical application of the katas. But the spacing here is too small, or maybe too crowded for that, so I'm keeping it to the slower practice." He doesn't speak for a few moments and then sighs. "And it's helping with my nervous energy, that I was doing so good ignoring until Steph brou-OH I DID'T INTRODUCE MYSELF!" Freezing mid-movement and hanging his head, the aspiring champion chastises himself.

"It's a basic bloody thing to do and I completely forgot to do it and now she probably thinks I'm an asshole..." He glances at the girl who addressed him most recently and offers his hand after a moment. "Jason Connor, pleasure to meet you, before I forget again." The other young man who'd arrived just ahead of Jason joined them shortly after and commented on how well he thought the martial artist was handling the chaos. "I'm just focusing on what's important right now, which is the people I'm talking to, the rest is background noise that I can ignore or acknowledge at will. I got good at it during the longsword tournaments back home."

Assuming that Regan introduced herself and took the offered hand, he scratched the back of his head. "I'm actually from the Hoenn region, but my parents have been helping with Evig's rebuilding, so I recently moved in with them to make up for the time we were apart." His eyes widen slightly and he fishes out his phone, quickly searching for his message app and shooting his dad a message about his training sword. "Actually, speaking of longswords..."

Jason barely moved as he heard others come in, maintaining his meditation in spite of the fact that others were moving into the area around him. If I'd wanted this much company, I would have sat in one of the main lobby areas, he thinks with a huff, but he still doesn't move, instead tuning out the sounds of the others. If Kapoc took too much longer calling them back, the aspiring champion had determined he'd move through a few katas to pass the time and, for the first time, silently kicked himself for not bringing his training sword from his parents' place. The region didn't have any renaissance fairs that he'd been able to find information on, but he did still plan to make a trip back to Hoenn to attend the Rustboro Faire and being out of practice would be no good at all. Just as he'd resolved to text his dad and see if he could bring him the squared practice blade, one of the others addressed Jason directly.

It took him a moment to sort through the accent, but eventually he managed and nodded in response. "I am here for the league challenge, yeah. Looks like I'm one of the older ones here, so that should be interesting." He pauses to listen to her next sentence and nods. "Yeah, nerves are to be expected though. I'd honestly be more impressed if you weren't nervous, it's why I'm meditating, helps with that." Closing his eyes again, Jason resumes his quiet meditation. However, the conversation with the girl and her mention of nerves had him fidgeting slightly, his own nerves finally catching up to him. Damn it...I was doing so good too...

Eventually Jason lets out a long and frustrated sigh and stands up, stretching some. "Alright, too much nervous energy. Katas it is." Moving to a decently empty part of the now more crowded waiting area. Taking a wide stance and inhaling slowly, I begin slowly moving through each move in the first kata, exhaling sharply with each blow against my imagined opponent. Could care less if they think it's weird, probably gonna end up travelling alone anyways...

As he moves through each kata, Jason mentally reviews everything he'd brought with him, taking a passing note of the two who already seemed to have partners with them and slightly tilting my head mid kick. Two with partners already huh? Or are those Pokémon more like companions...

Stop greasing up, Jason. It's dangerous for him to go spelunking like that.

It'll be fine.

Probably.

The ride from his parents' place into Grand Glory City was quiet and, for the most part, uneventful, aside from one of the other passenger's having some issues with their Eevee liking to get attention from Jason, which didn't bother the aspiring champion in the least, though it bothered the owner plenty. Disembarking from the train, Jason wandered into the heart of Grand Glory and just wandered for a bit, arriving two hours before they were even supposed to show up at the League HQ. He took in every sight he could, from the parks to the construction sites and even a couple of local bistros, though he didn't buy anything right away, he'd had breakfast before he left. As time drifted closer to the meeting time, he found himself drifting closer to the HQ until he finally walked inside it.

He'd vaguely noted the others who were in the lobby waiting, but his focus was on the more natural appearing areas of the lobby, taking special note of the waterfall. They had to have been spelunking at some point and see an underground one. I get they're also a river thing, but...this design leading into that pond? There's no way they weren't inspired by an underground one to some degree. The aspiring champion made his way to the front desk, speaking to another receptionist while someone who looked like they belonged in a glass case more than the League HQ spoke to one. "Jason Connor, here to start the League Challenge." I pause as the receptionist pulls up my info and then informs me to take a seat and wait like the others. "Understood, thank ya."

He heads for a sparsely sat at section of the hall and takes a meditative seat next to the pond, closing his eyes and focusing on being alert and ready for when Kapoc called them back. Might not be the Hoenn League, but this one should be way more fun...hell, this is a chance to be the region's first official...well, maybe not official, but first champion not needed to stop a crisis...
@Zarkun

I will put a child leash on him don't test me.

Jokes on you, he's too slippery for that XD

I had a bit more time than I thought to get it done. I cut down a lot so I wouldn't bloat it and so I wouldn't introduce like every rival NPC in one sitting for my own sanity. If you wish for your characters to interact, I would not only not mind it, but I would actively encourage character interactions.
