Fir merely shrugged at the question, before making a sour face as she tasted soot in her mouth.

“Well, it’s more of I didn’t apply to Torchwood than I was rejected from it,” she explained. “Going the Beacon route is a change of pace, something different, more open. I’d feel like a Firelight super-senior in Torchwood, it’s the same people and the same social expectations. There are some disadvantages, sure, but they’re a tradeoff I can accept.”

She glanced again at the wrecked side of the bar, where the crowd was already beginning to disperse. The bartender was picking up all the pennies that Lupus had thrown at him in ‘compensation’ for the destruction of the bar, which seemed to elevate her blood pressure somewhat. She agreed with Ash’s assessment nonetheless; her own comment was just an offhand one.

“The culture clash is real, though.”

At the end of the subsequent PA announcement she stood up, smiling slightly at the administration’s incredibly understated, but passive-aggressive admonishment of the bar bomber’s actions.

“Hey, if they don’t have any, I’m sure it’s not beyond us to make our own.”

From worry to relief, Eurwen sighed and leaned back in her seat as her friends reassured her. “Nothing particular happened. Just on a whim, and cause my mom wanted me to check out how my older sister was doing. And hey, despite how unique most of the students are here, it’ll be a nice cultural experience.” Snorting lightly, she smirked at the chimp faunus as she watched him stand, "I think that's the most sarcastic thing I've ever heard you say." Their lives were far different from hers, responsibilities, and expectations far greater then her own were thrusted upon them, so she had to assume that they went through tough times.

The culture clash is real, though.” Agreeing with Fir, the rabbit briskly nodded as she followed her gaze to the destroyed bar. Watching Ashart and Fir head towards the exit, a soft smile crept along her features. She had to remind herself just how strong these two were every now and then. They weren't kids anymore, and since meeting them in Firelight and now on the airship to Beacon, they looked just as strong and confident, if not more so. So Eurwen knew there was no need to worry.

Guess we should be heading out now. Maybe they have an illegal gin-and-tonic bootlegger in one of Beacon’s alleyways?” Wide eyed with excitement, the rabbit hurried from her seat and bounded over to her friends, “Hey, if they don’t have any, I’m sure it’s not beyond us to make our own.

"You really think so!? If they don't have any, we could try to make moonshine, again! Remember how good it was last time?"

Meeting up with her friends as they headed out of the airship, she made a place between the two and grabbed their hands. Giving a light squeeze, she eyed the ground bashfully, "To be honest, I'm really glad both of you are here.~" Tanned cheeks burned red as she continued, "Today started off so bad, but now that we're all here, it's already starting to feel like old times!" Skipping happily and pulling them along, Eurwen continued with a bright grin, and a confident look in her eye now, "Who knows! Maybe we'll even end up on a team!"

An explosion on an airship is a jarring situation to find yourself facing, and when your entire personality revolves about interjecting yourself into whatever's happening at the cost of other people's approval it's fairly good odds you'd wind up investigating it if you just so happened to be on said airship when the explosion happened. Truth be told he wanted to... He felt the urge to leave the young woman there and cross the ship to seek out an explanation, the thought buzzed through his mind like a cadre of angry hornets, stinging at his synapses to try and propel him into movement. Truth be told Vask didn't know why he stayed with her, but he did...

As the ship went into mild uproar, and then belabored calm following the sudden shaking Vask stayed there with his hand on the faunus' shoulder. Reassurance wasn't exactly his forte, an as such he didn't bother with words. His presence, he decided, was what little he had to offer, and he would do so. It was a long and tedius few minutes in which he rethought his decision several times over. His mind wandered; one moment he envisioned bursting into the bar just as a second explosive went off, the next he daydreamed that he managed to get in in time and everyone turned to him to defuse the bomb, so an and so forth ad infinitum his drifting thoughts went.

Eventually the p.a. system blared a droning landing message and he loosed a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, kneeling down besides his panicky charge. "There." He said simply, his smile wide. "Crisis averted, ship landing; all is well." He paused, mulling over what he'd been saying. "Well, for us at least someone could have been mangled in the initial explosion I guess, but generally I'd think there would be more screaming if that was the case... unless of course shrapnel knocked the surrounding individuals unonscious or severed their vocal cords so that they couldn't make a sound" He frowned lightly and shook his head them. "Pretty sure it would be unlikely for that to happen to as many people as I've seen go in there since I boarded, though."

Gently he squeezed her shoulder then, an action he hoped came across as reassuring. With that he finally rose and walked away, back towards his seat. As they set down he wobbled a bit with the landing but otherwise managed to grab his belongings with little to no issue. An over the shoulder travel bag and a large metal case were grasped tightly in the fingers of his left hand, and with his right he gestured to the salamander girl; "Come on then, some solid ground ought to do you some good." He said it simply, sincerely, and in doing so wandered towards the exit without sparing a glance back.

Indigo watched as a small girl made her way towards the tree he was sitting near. At first, she didn't seem to take note of him instead she began complaining about the manners of a certain student and how people should be looking out for people of her stature. Before she finished up her complaint, she seemed to have finally noticed him.

"I think head-blood is the most important blood."

"Well, you're not wrong...I think" Indigo thought to himself. His imagination began to run wild, does blood throughout the body have higher importance than other sections of blood throughout the body? He began to think about it, coming up with a scenario in his mind. If he was injured in the arm and leg, which would he prioritize first? He began brainstorming what limbs he would prioritize first if such situations would ever occur but soon a chill ran up his spine. This was troubling for him, all this thinking wouldn't provide much use to him, he did know how to dress wounds, but during battle when everything kind of gets out of hand. He didn't believe he would have time to choose or rather instinctively he would choose what wound he would take care of first. "Damn it, I began thinking about something stupid again." He thought to himself as he released a sigh of defeat.

The girl began digging through one of her leather pouches and grabbed small grey rag from one of them and offered it. Then, she began going on about how getting a blood stain out of his white suit would be a pain and began sharing her dad's knowledge about how to get Grimm blood out of his suit but stopped towards the end. "Did she forget what to do?" He assumed she did, it would've been great if he had an idea of how to rid of blood stains on his white clothes. Coming from a background of hunting and capturing Grimm blood would also find itself on his clothes, and rather than removing the blood that would get on his suits, he usually would just wash it along with the blood, making a blood-stained outfit in which his parent's disproved of and would constantly replace his clothing with new ones. It would save him a lot of trouble if he knew a way to get the blood out, but then again donning a new outfit which wasn't so white would probably be the best idea. Anyways, he determined that some information was just troubling to know and some weren't and instead makes life easier, this information she offered was the latter in his opinion.

After unnaturally stopping her little ramble about removing the blood, she apologized at the offered rag of smelling like grease. He eyed it for a while and became a bit suspicious, "It smells..?" He began imagining if this girl had the capability of kidnapping him. If she did, it would cause a lot of trouble for him. In fact, it might be the end of his life at Beacon and maybe he would begin working at some shady factory somewhere. But he ultimately scratched that idea off of his mind. He determined the nosebleed now is much more troubling than the grand illusion that he would be kidnapped. He reached out for it with one hand and with the other placed the mark of his semblance on the trunk of the tree for insurance, as it faintly glowed a color of indigo. "Uh, well if you don't mind?" He said as he reached for it, but then realized that for the moment he reached for the rag and placing his semblance on the trunk, nothing was blocking the holes of his nose and a small trickle of blood flowed out and onto his suit, he quickly snatched the rag and placed it against his nose pinching it with a firm grip. Looking at the speck of blood on his uniform, "Trouble." Instantaneously flowed through his mind. He looked back up to the girl.

"That recipe would work with human blood too, right?" He asked her in a nasally voice which was comically contrasting with his usual relaxed and calm voice, noticing the troublemaker who caused the explosion back at the bar. "Or would you know anything?" He asked the troublemaker who was looking at them from a distance.

Rielle had not hesitated a moment after having been given permission to take Gen along for a flight, and tugged him over the railing a bit haphazardly. It didn't take long for her to get behind him and slip her arms under his, and once she felt ready, she flapped her wings and brought them straight up into the sky. Though his extra weight made her work harder to fly, it didn't take long for her to adjust and go at her normal speed. During this time, Gen was being rather calm, and a part of her wanted to do a flip just to tease him, but she didn't. Instead she smiled and let them glide along above the few airships that were headed towards Beacon as well. “We’ll have to wait for our luggage... Now I miss my hoodie. It’s pretty cold up here.” he had said calmly. Rielle hadent thought about that before kidnapping the boy, but didn't the workers bring your luggage for you anyway. ...And was he really complaining? She started to ask if setting him ablaze would make him feel better, but then upon a glance up, she saw the biggest, fluffiest, most pillowy looking cloud in the sky. "Aha! Up there! Let's find out what that one tastes like!" she said excitedly before banking to the left and ascending slowly. She would likely not go higher than the cloud just above them, because the air was thinner so high up, and she didn't want to risk the guy passing out on her. That would just make this whole situation awkward... more so than it was already.

Rielle had managed to get them to the cloud, and as she flew through it, she closed her eyes. This is just what I needed. I guess the whole start of this new journey won't end up irritating after all. she thought to herself before opening her eyes again. She flew in and out of the cloud a few times, and on the last time coming out, she stopped flying, just flapping her wings so that they could stay in the same spot. "Beacon is just down there!" she said, turning them to face the large academy grounds. She noticed a few airships had already landed, letting the students pour out of them like ants in a mound and some were just arriving, waiting for the empty ones to move so that they can take their spots. "I hate that it is over so soon. Once you get a taste of what the sky is like, the Earth never seems as good anymore. No pun intended." she said with a giggle. Though she knew she should be getting them back on the ground, Rielle really didn't want to leave the sky just yet. She wanted to fly more, but all the same, Gen likely had other things he wanted to do as well.

"Well, did you like the taste of that cloud?" she asked him, as she turned to start her descent towards Beacon. Suddenly a large object would fill her vision, and cast the two of them in a shadow with its size. A large airship was coming straight towards them. No, it was only seconds away from crashing into them. She could see through the glass, the worried expression of the capitan and his crew as he desperately tried to maneuver the ship out of their way, but it was in vain, and Rielle had noticed too late for her to react. Rielle's backside had met the ship painfully, at whatever speed it was going. She lurched forward and her arms slipped out from under those belonging to Gen as she turned to glare angrily at the crew inside. "Hey! Watch where you guys are flying! The sky not big enough for ya!?" she said pounding the glass with her fists like a child. She had reached out to hold on to a piece of metal that stuck out from the side of the ship to keep from falling, and that was when she noticed the crew inside were making some weird kinds of gestures.

Each member was wide eyes and pointing to Rielle and then at their feet. She frowned and glared at them. "I can't hear what they're saying, can you Gen?" And that was when she realized. "Gen Hio!?" she called, looking around, and then below her. There he was, pretty much free falling to his death. With a light gasp, she tucked in her wings and shot straight down towards him as fast as she could. She reached him in no time, but grabbing him was a different story. She reached her arms out, trying to grab at his shirt and then his hands, and his hair even. She couldn't get a good grip and she actually laughed a little. He was probably terrified. "Dont worry! I gotcha!" she yelled so he could hear her over the roar of the wind. In an effort to slip her hands under his arms, she ended up just colliding with his back, and when she did, she hugged him tightly and unfolded her wings. Slowly she would guide the two of them towards the docks where the airships were, giggling and grinning the entire time. As they approached the ground, she hoped his legs would be working to catch their fall, or else this landing was going to be fun for her, and painful for him.

Kaesey cringed as she watched the tiny drops of blood fall and splatter on the boy's pristine shirt, instantly staining the fabric in that way that only blood and red wine could. "Dangit!... And here you were doing so well until I came along!" She slumped back against the trunk, sliding into a sitting position beside him with a mournful expression that clearly showed how she blamed herself for the blood stain. "Ever have that feeling that everything you do ends in like... an explosion? No, wait I meant to say 'a disaster'? Although I guess an explosion could be a disaster..." Glancing up at the new boy who approached them, the one who liked to mix things and was apparently too shy to say 'Hello', she pointed to him with a tiny finger. "HE knows what I'm talkin' about! Explosions and disasters and people telling us not to touch things, AM-I-RIGHT!?"

The suit wearing boy's words suddenly registered in KK's mind, however, and she immediately perked up again. "Wait! That recipe does work on human blood! This day can still be saved!" Springing to her feet, she jabbed a hand into the air and took up what she thought was a victorious pose but which actually looked quite ridiculous. "The supplies we need will be found in the nearest kitchen and janitorial closet!" After blinking several times at the students passing by, the ones giving her almost fearful looks, she dropped back into a normal person's stance and spun to offer the stained suit boy a hand to his feet. "We should probably go to the assembly first, though... My name's Kaesicius, by the way, but my friends call me Kaesey!... Or KK... Or Kay... I'm sure if I had any friends they would use at least one of those!" Her round face was beaming with her brilliant smile as if she'd barely even listed to the things she'd been saying for the past several minutes.

Lupus, stopped his self pitying. he had no time for such things, he had to finish what he had set as his goal. with a new fixation Lupus confidence gushed back as quickly as it had left him. like someone had opened up a floodgate full of the stuff and it felt revitalizing. Lupus Flexed his hands "Wish me luck" he said to his sword. and his long deceased parents. as he took a Stride over to the tree where The 2 where talking and the girl almost Dancing sprung to her feet crying that the day could be saved. it almost made Lupus think it was a bad idea to get any closer but he still neared closer and he heard the boy asked him if he had any ideas of how to get blood stains out.

and to be fact he did know one way "Ever tried using some dust mixed with some detergent?" Lupus said answering his eyes flickering over the individuals the girl nicknamed KK was Blonde blue eyed and with a average build. and a hyperactive attitude. while the guy with the Nosebleed was. wearing all white Blazer and shirt. and neatly combed hair ("Jesus Christ this guy is posh") Lupus thought. Lupus preferred to not bother with his appearance which could explain his scruffy hair and his cloths.

Lupus then Decided to introduce himself because why not "also i forgot to mention The Names Lupus argentum. and no i don't no anything about explosions. it was a god danm accident." Lupus said before changing the subject. "The Academy looks amazing don't it." Lupus said with a grin. his sword still dragging behind him. as his mind began to drift wondering what their weapons were. and wondering what was gonna happen next.

As the students filed in to the main hall, Headmaster Ignis Opal and her assistant, Professor Sandra Pewter, stood waiting for them on a raised platform at one end of the room. Both cut a striking figure. The headmaster was only five-foot-one, shorter than many of the assembled freshmen, but the contrast of her flame-red hair and leonine gold eyes against her dark blue suit made it clear that she was not one to be taken lightly. Pewter, on the other hand, was the tallest and strongest person in the room. She was a well-known Huntress before taking a teaching position, and she remained highly imposing even in civilian clothing. The headmaster looked around the room, nodded, tapped on her microphone to get everyone's attention and began her speech.

"Greetings, students. I am Headmaster Opal, and I would like to once again welcome you to Beacon Academy. You are all here today because you have the potential to become heroes and heroines of humanity: Huntsmen and Huntresses. Your path will not be an easy one, but by choosing to attend classes here you have already taken your first steps. I have confidence that many of you will rise to become the brightest lights of hope in your generation, and I look forward to seeing your progress here at Beacon."

The headmaster stepped away from the mic, and Professor Pewter stepped up.

"All incoming students will be sleeping in the dining hall for tonight. Your luggage has already been collected there. Take tonight to familiarize yourself with the school and prepare yourselves for initiation tomorrow. You are dismissed."

Compassion:

Gen watched as the ship dwindled in size, being surpassed by Rielle’s mastery in aerodynamics. He couldn’t fathom the maximum strength of the faunus’ wings, being able to lug around his modest body mass of 109 pounds, along with his firearm which added another ten units for her to carry, and her own serrated bow. It was daunting about how unique the girl was, but he then attempted to wrap his mind around the diversity of the remaining student body. How many other students were born with such talented strengths? He glanced up at the classmate, whose eyes were focused on the air before them. Deep in concentration, Rielle had an expression of longing on her face, as if she was searching for something in particular. Her eyes widened in glee, affirming her target.

"Aha! Up there! Let's find out what that one tastes like!"

Rielle proclaimed as Gen followed her line of sight, setting his eyes on a snowwhite cloud. The nimbus hovered in their direction as they made their approach. He couldn’t help but to thank Exuberance for making such a query earlier. After all, if the overly-inquisitive persona never asked the question, the words would have never slipped out of Gen’s mouth. If E. was here right now, he would be an overly-emotional mess of happiness. Aside from his childish actions, he would probably find the taste of the precipitation more enjoyable. Even though the water failed to rile his taste buds, Gen decided to play along and nod in approval after they brushed closely with the fluffy mass. The teen took a peek at Rielle’s expression, ”Guess she’s enjoying this as well.” It would be unfair if he was the only one who was fond of the flight, as she was one going through the hassle of piloting. The experience was quite the continuation to his first chapter; an encounter with a faunus capable of flight, and a trip inspired by the manifestation of a seventeen year old’s sub-conscious. After a few maneuvers through the cloud, Rielle brought them to a halt and hovered in place, giving them a bird’s eye view of the academy. From their given height, they could see the entirety of the campus. Gen was mostly focused on the main building, a shining pinnacle amongst the smaller school buildings scattered on the floating island. Airships were already docking at the ports, pouring with new and returning students. “They look like ants from up here.” He commented, raising his cuffed hands to his mouth. Proceeding to exhale into them, he rubbed his palms together to generate some warmth.

"Well, did you like the taste of that cloud?"

Rielle asked as they began their descent towards the school. “Um, yeah. Never been this high in the sky, thanks for the flight. I truly appreciate it.” He said sparingly with his words, still preoccupied with scrounging up some heat. It took Gen a few seconds to notice the shadow which had crept on the two. He glanced back and realized its owner was only a few inches colliding with his face. Lacking any control over the situation, the teen felt himself spun around a complete 180 degrees. His friend took it upon herself to bear the pain, letting out a shrill cry as the ship collided with her back. Gen had no time to feel remorseful for the girl, as he suddenly noted the fact that Rielle had retracted her arms to soothe the area of contact. “Wait a se-” The boy managed to blurt out before he plummeted through the air, feeling the wind on his back as he decreased altitude at a frightening rate. Being taken by utter surprise, Gen didn’t take the time to think to himself and expressed his thought aloud, “Well, this is quite the turn of events!” He shouted as the tie which was originally tucked into his shirt now blew uncontrollably within his vision. “Hey, T., are you there?” The teen asked in a distressed voice, hoping the persona would quickly respond.

”Yeah, I’m here. It seems you’re in quite the predicament. I take it you need my help?” The nonchalant tone of voice the persona was renowned voice failed to fit the situation by the slightest. “Alright, good, good! So what are my chances of surviving?” While waiting for T’s response, Gen tried to reach for the firearm on his back. His attempts were futile, as the air flowing in the opposite direction completely overpowered him.

”Well, in the case you actually manage to get a hold of Sagaciter, given the counteracting force which you can generate along with your semblance… Yeah, you’re screwed. Perhaps you can start flapping your arms like those girl’s wings, that might work?”

The blunt and crude synopsis Tactician gave displeased him greatly, though the persona did remind him of the aerodynamically adept girl. Gen began to calm down and regained his serene composure, by now Rielle probably realized his absence. As he fell through a cloud, he could feel small beads of mist gather on the back of his neck, “So, what do you think of Rielle. As a teammate, that is?” It was somewhat pitiful, a teen having a conversation with his own mental creation, but it was a good way to kill the few moments.

”Judging from what I’ve seen so far, she’s anatomically capable, probably excels in close-to-mid range oriented combat. An asset to the team, but not a leader. She can easily compliment your support role in combat, being able to get up in any enemy’s face. It’s going to be interesting fighting alongside her, along with the other two you will meet tomorrow.” As the persona finished its analysis, a grin formed on Gen’s face, “Ah, here she is. Glad we won’t become a splat on the earth, right T?” He joked as a silhouette appeared from behind the cloud, out of it flew the phoenix faunus, her arms reaching for him.

Either than nearly strangling him to death when she attempted to grab Gen by the tie, Rielle freed the boy from his freefall by wrapping her arms around his chest. He could have sworn that the girl was laughing while gracefully saving him. “That was a close one, right?” Hio cocked his head as they descended at a faster rate, arriving at the academy five minutes prior to the nearly -exploded vessel. He couldn’t help but to laugh along with Rouge as they reached the docks. But it slowly dawned on him who would be making their landing. As Rielle started bleating speed, Gen braced his substitute landing gear; his own two legs. “This is going to hurt, isn’t it?” As the gap between them and the concrete surface closed, the teen attempted to keep a stable footing, running in lieu with the momentum. After a few paces he lost his balance and fell forward, though he wasn’t too fond of colliding with the rock. He focused on his own mass and propelled himself a couple of meters, slamming his side onto the notably softer, grass-covered ground. Gen landed abruptly on the not-so painful terrain, coming to a halt. He quickly regained his senses and shot up, his classmate still gripping to him, “Well, now that’s a memorable landing.” He let out a sigh of relief as Rielle relinquished her hold, setting foot on the ground herself. Noticing that Rielle was still in a giddy mood, the boy couldn’t help but to let out a few chuckles, mixed in with the occasional snort.

Shortly after their plausible landing, the vessel containing their luggage arrived. Though, Gen was fully aware that his belongings were to be moved straight to the dining hall, he had the intention of waiting for two other individuals. As the students flocked out of the ship, within the midst were Exuberance and Aggressor, with their natural fixations. It seemed E. was on the verge of tears as he finally spotted his protector, he made a beeline for him, "C! Where did you go?! We saw you fly off, and I thought you were kidnapped! You took Tactician with you, and left me... with him!” The persona yelled while jabbing a finger back at his counterpart, “ He started saying that we'd never see you again!” At this point, E. deformed to flailing his arms and fell into a blabbering mess. Gen sighed and mentally reprimanded A., who merely clicked his tongue and looked the other way. With his personal consultants now at his side, he spun around to face his friend, “It's time for the opening ceremony. I’m interested in the grand speech I’ve been hearing about. Shall we?” He asked, calmly waiting on the hooded figure's reply.

"Oh, the moonshine?" Ashart smiled. "I remember a certain someone almost going blind from drinking the first batch."

Walking in front of the other two as they started to make their way to the auditorium-dining-hall-sleeping-place, he kept one idea on the dust-mixing, sword-brandishing person, while resting his silver baseball bat on his right shoulder. Though he was more accustomed to staying at the back and covering for any ambushes or backstabs, in this case, he decided that it would be better to play the part of the vanguard. He shrugged at Eurwen's musings.

"I'd prefer a bit more of a spread, really. Wouldn't mind if we were all in different teams, if only because networking would be easier that way. Who knows, maybe some of these Vale kiddos are actually decent. I'd like to think that the bomber was the exception, not the norm."

Dodging a random slow student, Fir shrugged nonchalantly. She wasn't involved with the certain incident involving the moonshine, not directly, at least. She was glad she wasn't, the kids making it certainly weren't the best brewers of the bunch. In any case, Fir didn't object to a different team make-up, as long as the bar bomber wasn't in it.

"Put a Firelight member in every team and achieve schoolwide hegemony. Going for a culture victory, Ashart? I'd be fine with either scenario."

Scrunching her nose, the rabbit crossed her arms in protest, “Listen, we all came to an understanding years ago that you two were going to be in charge of limiting my drinking. So, technically, it wasn’t my fault I almost went blind!” Despite her words, she had quickly come to notice their conversation had drifted to another subject, so Eurwen could only pray that her words didn’t bring focus to her drinking habits .

Giving a shrug of her own to their musings, Eurwen wasn’t all to enthusiastic about the idea of working with another team. She had fought beside Ashart, and Fir many times. Knowing their styles like the back of her hand, as they did for her, she wasn’t really sure how well she’d be with a team of people she was completely unfamiliar with.

One can only pray that the bomber isn’ the ‘norm' here.." Thinking back to the airship ride with a sneer on her face, Eurwen could recall another student destroying one of the benches near a bay window. However there were a few others that had caught her eye. Like the other student that had been sitting next to the ‘dust-bomber’. Not only had he kicked another away from the blast, but within the limited amount of time he had tried to evade the blast.

Walking beside Fir, Eurwen eyed another student further ahead in full armor before shrugging once more, “Well, I can definitely tell there’s potential here.

Fir recalled the tin-suited man from earlier. She only glimpsed him for a moment, but she didn't get the best impression from that. "Him? Actually, I thought he looked a bit snobby, like a rich kid showing off his new toys on the first day of school. C'mon, don't you remember those people in Firelight?"

"Oh yeah," Ashart chipped in, "The Armored person totally reminds me of that one kid...what was his name again? Bru-something? Always went to everywhere in a powered suit because of security reasons or whatever, right? Heck, I remember when he stuck a hose into his armor in order to take a shower without exposing himself to the 'harmful outdoors'."

"Hopefully that person isn't quite as much of a maniac, though I do wonder about his suitcase..."

Fir snickered, her face stretching into a broad smile. "Oh, hell yes I remember, I was the one that replaced his bathwater with fruit punch."

As her friends joked, the Rabbit snorted playfully at Firs confession, "Geez', I remember the mental breakdown he went through that night. That's probably why he transferred out of Firelight, not even a week later.

Growing closer to the entrance with each step, goosebumps covered her arms as anticipation and excitement began to swell within her chest. Looming over them almost menacingly, the sheer size of the building forced the girl to crane her neck up as they came to the entrance stairs, “Incredible, not even Firelight is this big.

Hearing voices from the inside, Eurwen decided to skip ahead of her friends and hurry up the stairs. Pausing at the doors she turned to Ashart and Fir, pointing like a child as a wide grin stretched across her lips, “Look! That must be the Headmistress!” Sidestepping past a few to get a better look once they were inside, the same grin sat along her face as she listened closely to the older woman’s speech.

Her strong tone echoed throughout the building, giving her a sort of grace that Eurwen had never seen before, however her words didn’t impact the Faunus in the way that she had hoped. Expecting more then just words of encouragement, the woman’s speech seemed to end just as fast as it began. Looking around in disbelief as the crowd around them began to disperse, Eurwen felt her excitement fizzle with each person leaving the auditorium.

Well.. that was uplifting."

The Juneau girl agreed with Eurwen with an equally disappointed expression on her face.

"Eh? I don't like long speeches, but that was as anticlimactic as a blockbuster flop..."

Voicing her expression of deflated anticipation, she stood up from the auditorium seat.

"In any case, let's hurry and the beat the crowd! I want to get the best spot for the night."

Ashart made no comment about the speech, mainly because he was pretty sure that he'd heard it...every single time during every commencement speech at his time in Firelight. And thought the auditorium in Beacon WAS reasonably sized, he wasn't too impressed. The warehouses of Sakanade Textiles was larger than this, after all.

Not quite as enthusiastic as Fir when it came to getting a good spot, he said, "Does it even matter where we sleep? Looks all the same to me...unless you want to go sleep outside."

"It's a matter of life-and-death, Ash. You can have the space near the bathrooms."

"I'll be sure to save the washroom stall for your usage, Fir."

Fir pouted. "See, you get my point."

Gasping loudly, Eurwen bounced excitedly in her seat, "Oh-Oh! If we sleep outside, we can look at the stars, guys!"

"Sounds like a good idea. Rooftop auditorium camping then?"

Juneau shrugged at this suggestion. Nothing wrong with camping. "Sure, if it's not next to the chimney. I've had enough soot for a day."

Jumping up from her seat, the Faunus threw her arms up in victory as she started to skip off towards the main entrance, "Whoo! Rooftop auditorium camping!"

"A chimney for the auditorium? Guess we'll see if they even have a heating system in here."

"I would really hope there is one. I hear winters are a bitch here."

Not thinking to look back to see if Ashart or Fir were still behind her, Eurwen made her way back out to the courtyard. Searching along the side of the building for stairs, or even a ladder, her hopping quickly came to a halt as she found herself in an unfamiliar part of the Academy. "Aw, I don't know if we're gonna be able to find a wa-"

Spinning around in search of her friends, Eurwen began to fall into a panic, "Guys? H-Hey, where did you go?"

Fir opened her mouth in mild surprise as Eurwen zipped away, apparently to secure a rooftop camping spot. She certainly didn't think they were being serious. But she had no time question this, she had to secure a space that was not in the lavatories.

"Aish... If you have no intention of finding a space, I'll see you in the morning then, Ashart. Good luck~!"

And with that, the Juneau girl was off too.

The girl began to blame herself for the stain that had just occurred and started asking Indigo if he's ever had the feeling everything he does just doesn't seem to go the way he plans it to. Looking at the stain on his shirt, "I guess I do...?" It never really occurred to him all he was trying to do is stop a nosebleed, he didn't think it would ever get to a point where his nose explodes if he made the wrong move. She then went off on the boy who started the explosion back on the ship, declaring as if they were brothers-in-arms in terms of the idea she was talking about.

"HE knows what I'm talkin' about! Explosions and disasters and people telling us not to touch things, AM-I-RIGHT!?"

"No no no. If someone told him not to touch anything, the flight would've gone on without anything damaged." Indigo thought to himself completely unaware that the little girl also destroyed something within the ship.

Suddenly, the atmosphere around her began to light up as if she could redeem the outfit's once completely-not-stained-by-blood-at-all-look. A chill ran up through his spine as if telling him to run, make an excuse and run now his instincts told him. She began with her plans to get the materials, "Why am I still here?" He thought to himself as she continued but suddenly the girl's determination for the quest of cleaning off the stain halted, as she spun around and offered help to get onto his feet. He took the offer with his free hand and stood up with a gentle tug on his part. He also noticed that the blood has stopped and removed the rag from his nose,"I guess, I'll keep it for now." he thought to himself casually putting it in his back pocket.

The girl also revealed her name and also brought up that they should probably head towards the assembly hall now, he agreed with it as he tried to pronounce her name in his head and also took note about her remark about friends. "Kaesithius, Ka-Kaesi. No wonder they would probably shorten it, the full name is just too troubling to say. I guess I'll call her Kay, but would there ever be a situation where that would be confusing?" The troublemaker, who seemed to be proficient with a sword, answered his previous question suddenly, coming up with what seemed like a troubling solution to his problem.

"Ever tried using some dust mixed with some detergent?"

"I mean, if you really hated my outfit you could just tell me. Instead of recommending to try something explosively new on it."

Indigo looked at him and couldn't really gather too much from him other than that he was pretty nervous or scared at first, eventually the student had to reaffirm himself of speaking to them. The boy announced himself as Lupus Argentum and began talking about how the explosion was an accident and how amazing the academy was. Not much really clicked with Indigo's head other than the fact his name was pretty easy compared to Kay's. "Lupus. Lupus." He said in his mind to reassure he had it right. He only nodded to Lupus's statement about the campus before he began leading the way towards the assembly. "Uh, my name is," he paused for a moment was it safe telling a everyone his real name? What if he became a target for some people and became ransom for his family in exchange for the few faunus they have captured "Indigo. I don't seem to remember my last name for some reason, maybe it fell out with the nose blood." He said to them intentionally hiding his family's name from them, half-knowing that is nearly impossible for his family to get caught but he couldn't be too sure, "Let's go, Lupe. Kay. Unless you guys want to get in trouble." Unintentionally making a nickname for Lupus for his own convenience. The instinct of telling him to run away was still there, but he chose to ignore it. Whether or not that was a good idea, only the upcoming future could tell.

Huh… Oren wasn’t too sure what to make of the Headmistress’ welcome. While he could appreciate the speech being kept brief, its contents were a bit lacking and generic if he was to be honest. As some other students began to disperse, Oren walked out of the main hall at the head of the crowd. Where he slept for the night wasn’t too much of a concern for him, so he didn’t bother trying to claim a spot. If worse came to worse he didn’t even see sleeping outside to be an issue; the weather seemed quite mild as it was. What mattered more to him at the moment was seeing if appropriate arrangements had been made, or figuring out what to do if they hadn’t.

The locker room wasn’t completely empty as expected, Oren could hear voices bouncing off the walls. Ignoring them, he scanned the locker-lined walls for the, hopefully two, that would be his. It wasn’t too hard to figure which ones were his though; two stickers of the Atlesian symbol on two conjoined lockers was pretty obvious. Punching in the two separate combinations, he was rewarded with two doors swinging open to greet him with plenty of storage space. With a dull thud he set the mini-locker he had brought with him down next to the bench before he got to work on freeing himself from the hardsuit.

The process didn’t take too long and he’d managed to cut it down to only a few minutes with the many times he had practiced. Still, he didn’t see himself using the gift too often during his time at Beacon. If he wanted to better himself, the suit’s amplifications of his abilities would only serve as a crutch. Laying the folded bodysuit atop the armor pieces, he took a second to look at the disassembled powered armor before letting the locker door swing shut. The mini-locker fit snugly inside the other locker, and he took a few moments to unpack it. Two travel bags sat at the bottom while his weapons were secured on the walls. Fishing out some appropriate cloths, namely a white collared shirt, a pair of grey slacks, and a black long coat, Oren got dressed before he left the building to the sound of locks clicking shut.

He took a moment to just stop and breathe when he stepped outside; the day was quite a pleasant one. It was something to read that the weather was nice on a display in the corner of one’s eye, and another thing to actually feel it. With that done, Oren blinked and wondered what to do now. He could find something to do on the Academy grounds; be that familiarizing himself with the layout or lazing about, or he could hit up the town of Vale. Given how he would be spending most of his time on school grounds for the next little while, he figured any sort of familiarization he bothered with today could, and would, be done so in the coming days. Exploring the nearby city would take a good deal longer, so why not get a head start on it?

"Assembly ho!" Kaesey cheered as they started off towards the large hall building along with a few other late-comers. 'TWO friends?! Not one but TWO in one day!', the squirrelly girl thought with a large smile as they found seats in the back. 'If I keep this up, I'll have...' She gave the undoubtedly easy equation a worthy effort, but one would have almost seen smoke coming from her ears as it went way over her head. Like... SO many friends... Suddenly realizing that the headmaster was already speaking, KK tuned in for the last little bit but in the blink of an eye it was over and the students began fumbling about the hall in search of sleeping space.

"Awww, it's over already?" She mumbled, eyes shimmering and lips sticking out in a pout. "I didn't even get to use my celebratory bom-firework!" As if to accentuate the point she dug through a pouch and pulled out a rather large bottle-rocket. It was clearly homemade, complete with lots of scotch tape, and looked rather dangerous in her hands. "Next time, Ol' Sparky... Next time."

Spinning back to face Indigo and Lupus she put her hands (and the rocket) behind her back and rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet. "Well I guess we should find some sleepy-time place... Then maybe tonight we can break into a supply closet and clean your shirt!" The happy-go-lucky expression and everyday tone of voice made the statement rather chilling.

Indigo stood silent as he watched Kay occupying herself with her thoughts, she seemed to be glowing with happiness. "She's that excited for a speech?" Indigo thought to himself, he stood and listened intently to the speech given. "I guess it was interesting?" Scratching his head at the thought. Now what troubled him now is where he would be sleeping and the fact Kay keeps a firework in her pouch. "Should I not be near her or Lupe at night? Waking up to my burning flesh doesn't sound too appealing." He stared at the both of them wondering whether or not they would cause trouble for the faculty.

"Well I guess we should find some sleepy-time place... Then maybe tonight we can break into a supply closet and clean your shirt!"

Indigo did find the idea of cleaning his shirt mildly appealing, but breaking in on his first night at the academy didn't seem to be the smartest thing to do. In fact, it was trouble and trouble is something Indigo tends to avoid. He quickly thought up of an excuse, "Well, you know breaking in is,uh, I heard you could get expelled if you broke into places." going on with his lie, "I'm pretty sure I have a spare in my luggage and besides we're going to be in our nightwear. So, we don't have to clean it today. Yup!" Avoiding trouble was the highest priority as of now. "Wait, one moment." he said to them. He went to find his luggage once acquiring it, he went to change into his nightwear. He wore a indigo colored thin sweater and black sweatpants. "I don't really have to go back to them, do I?" Indigo asked himself.

Oddly enough he did or rather tried to but couldn't find them, "I guess someone might have told them to move to secure a spot to sleep." He released a sigh of relief, "Guess I won't be getting in trouble on my first night. I'm pretty sure they'll find better friends around here." He thought to himself as he struggled to find a place to sleep. Eventually, he did and almost instantly fell asleep.

Lupus had walked inside the hall expecting a grand speech to welcome new students but what he got was lacking... in more ways then one.

Lupus looked at the headmistress she seemed Capable of holding her own in a fight but his eyes Kept on looking at the headmistress's compatriot who seemed to raditate control and power. Lupus noticed Kaesesy's annoyance at not getting to use her makeshift firework. Lupus. felt kinda downhearted because it would be awesome to see what it would do... Lupus's Theory was later proven right because after the speech the Woman spoke with a firm unwavering tone

"All incoming students will be sleeping in the dining hall for tonight. Your luggage has already been collected there. Take tonight to familiarize yourself with the school and prepare yourselves for initiation tomorrow. You are dismissed."

"so i guess we are sleeping inside... what a change of pace" Lupus said under his breath because he preferred to sleep outside. because it was more comfy in his opinion but he wasn't really that fussy where he slept as long as he had company. "Well I guess we should find some sleepy-time place... Then maybe tonight we can break into a supply closet and clean your shirt!" he heard Kasesey say with the most Excited voice he had heard in a long time. Lupus agreed with the train of thought to find a place to sleep and actually wanted to go through with the plan to break in But Indigo had said he had spares. so that got rid of that fun.

Lupus picked up his small suitcase it was small and generally only held his cloths and a small book about the creatures of Grimm. he still had Gemini in his hand so he carried the suitcase with one hand He looked for a spot to lay his head and spotted one near Indigo he put his stuff out and quickly changed cloths keeping his bandanna on at all times once he had finished changing into his grey and black Pajamas he put his hat back on his head he felt cleaner after he had gotten out of his dust covered cloths. he pulled out the book on Grimm and slowly began to read. his sword layered flat beside him reflecting the light.

The Next Day

Ignis Opal sat behind her desk, her chair turned around facing the large window behind her. She gazed out towards the rising sun, her blood red hair hung around her face and cast a shadow over her golden eyes. She was lost in thought, wondering if she wanted to carry through with her twist with the test that the first years were going to participate in on this day. She had hand selected 12 first years who were going to set the standard for her. If they could not carry out the mission as planned, she would simply go back to the original test that her predecessor Ozpin had set in motion. The woman sighed an turned around as she felt the presence of someone in the room.

"Thank you for coming so quickly Pewter." the woman said to the blonde who had silently walked in. On her desk was a slip of paper that contained the names of the 12 students she wanted to use in her 'experiment' for today. "Gather these students and tell them to meet us at Beacon Cliff no later than 10 o'clock." she said. Pewter nodded and stepped forward, retrieving the list from the desk of her headmistress. "Are you still going to go through with the plan?" she asked as she turned and started to walk out.

"Yes." Opal said. "And I have high hopes that they... wont disappoint me. If they do, they'll be out by tomorrow morning. I'll be sure of it." was all she said before the door of her office was closed behind Pewter. "If they survive that is." Opal mumbled to herself as her gaze drifted back out towards the landscape below her.
Beacon Cliff - Moments before the Start of the Test

Once the twelve student had arrived and were gathered at Beacon Cliff, Headmaster Opal approached the group. She looked out among the student's faces before her and a smile would form on the woman's face. "Good morning students. Its nice to see such young and eager faces to once again grace the halls of my school. You are the first of many first years who will face a test today, to truly show me if you are ready for the dangers of becoming Huntsmen." She walked up and down the line of students as she spoke, her red hair fanning out like behind her as the wind blew. "Now im sure you all have heard rumors from the upperclassmen about the objective for today, but want to say just one thing...." She stopped in front of a girl in a red hood who seemed to not be listening to her and reached out towards her, taking a lock of the girls hair in her hand and gripping it in a fist, but not causing harm to the girl. "Whatever ideas you have about the test, forget them. You twelve will be set out to achieve a different objective. In this test, there is no pass or fail. It is pass... or die." Opal said menacingly, letting the hair slowly fall from her fingers.

"This test will not be like the ones your seniors took. This one is different. New. Never been attempted before.... likely very dangerous. So, based on the files presented to me from the first years, I have personally selected all of you to carry out this objective for me." she turned away from them and looked at Professor Pewter who nodded and stepped forward.

"The twelve of you will be sent to the ruins of an abandoned city located on the outskirts of Veil. It is a hot-spot for some of the most aggressive Grimm in the world, and so the mission will be carried out in teams of two. The first person you make eye contact with when you reach the city will be your partner for the mission as well as the duration of your time here at Beacon. While you are on mission, Opal and I will be watching you closely, and should you succeed and... not perish, you will be placed into teams of four." She paused and looked at Opal who nodded for her to continue.

"The objective is to get to the church located in the center of the city. Inside there will be six relics that are placed at the alter. Each pair takes one relic. There are two of each of the following: a cross, a small gargoyle, and a wooden spoon. No doubt you will face monsters in your path that are set to protect them. They are some kind of source of dark energy we want you to bring back so we can destroy it. You are by all means authorized to use deadly force. If you don't well, you know what happens. After all six relics are retrieved, it will activate a spell that will transport you back to this cliff. Be warned however. If there is any presence of the Grimm withing 20 meters of you, the spell will deactivate and you will be trapped there. We will not be coming to get you." she said.

"I hope all of you were listening closely and you are prepared to face these trials. The standards here at Beacon will be going up from this year forward, and I trust you all will set the example of those coming behind you." Opal spoke up then again. A hand rose to flick a bit of hair out of the woman's eyes and then she outstretched it towards the sky, closing her eyes. "Oh. And one more thing students." she said, a smile raising to her face. "Good luck."

With those last words, the woman would snap her fingers and the group of students would be individually circled by a white circle made of runes and small words. In a flash of light, they would be gone, all sent away to a different part of the abandoned city. The woman's eyes opened and she looked to Pewter. "They will survive." she stated to the professor.

"In all honesty Opal... I am not so sure."
~Moments Later~

Rielle felt her feet touch the ground, and not even a moment later, she heard the sound of a nearby Grimm. Turning around, she saw an Ursa lumbering around, shuffling through a building just behind her. Though her first thought was to scream, she covered her mouth with both hands and stepped backwards. She stared at the creature for a moment before turning and running in the opposite direction. Before she would be ready to fight, Rielle had to find a safe place to calm down and think. The only safe place was up, so with a hop, Rielle outstretched her wings and flew to the roof of the nearest building. There she would sit down and formulate some kind of plan in her head to survive. Her objective was to locate a relic. Sure, that was doable. But first, she had to find a partner.

After a moment, Rielle would rise and look out upon the city, getting a clear view from here. Grimm had begun to gather around the bottom of the building she was at, and though she wanted to fly to safety, that would only make her a giant, red, moving target. "Alright Seraphine. Let's kill these soulless bastards, huh?" she spoke to her bow as if it would reply back. Readying her bow and aiming it at the head of an Ursa, Rielle would pull the string back and stick her pointer finger out as guidance. Then using her semblance, she would create a thin arrow made of fire and hold it in place. The words of her father would echo in her head as she focused her energy, taming it, and allowing it to do her bidding. "Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work at hand. The sun's rays do not burn until brought to a focus." With the last word spoken in her head, Rielle release the arrow, watching it fly and hit the beast dead on. It let out a shrill cry and fell, dead, then all Grimm heads in the area looked up in the direction the attack had come from.

A smirk formed on the lips of the girl as she pushed her head back and flapped her wings. "Did somebody order a handful of torched Grimm?" she said with a light giggle as she jumped from the roof and created a flurry of arrows to rain down upon the Grimm below her. She just let loose, not caring what caught aflame in the process, and afterwards, landed on the ground, transforming Seraphine into a spear and charging at the closest beast towards her.

*Present*
Priscilla jumped up, going to the bathroom, doing all she was going to do there, to get ready. She put on her her hair was straight, her outfit was good and she was ready! Priscilla skipped towards the others, she noticed 11 more people besides her, they were all standing in a circle, with runes and small words, they were going to be thrown to some abandoned city located on the outskirts of Veil. She had to find someone, as soon as she sees that person, eye to eye, he or she would become her partner for the mission and for the years in the Academy.
As soon as she heard Opal snap her fingers, that's when each student was flung into the abandoned city. "Aah!" yelled Priscilla, as she was teleported she grabbed her sword, pressed the button as it transformed into her whip, as she grabbed herself from hitting the ground, thankfully the whip wrapped itself around a Tree's arm, as she hung there for a minute. "Why did I have to do this, Priscilla, come on..." she said rolling her eyes, letting go and falling on the ground on her butt. "Ouch..." the pink haired girl stood up, looking around, hearing Grimms around her, she cleared her throat and tried to be as quiet as possible.
She walked around, and accidently made a noise, alerting one of the Grimms that were nearby her. "Oh, I'm sorry, Grimm. If you were resting, you can continue, I am just here to lo-..!" that thing didn't even let her speak! It began to run after her, Priscilla rolled her eyes as she turned her whip now into her sword, she ran towards the Grimm and used her electricity, to give her a bit of speed, as she ran behind it and slashed it from behind. "Boom." said Priscilla, cutely flipping her hair, hopefully she could run into someone already, she didn't want to do this alone! No fun.

Danger

Compassion:

Gen prepared himself for the events to come, fiddling with his hoodie to ease the anxiety. His eyes were glued to the grass below him, the blades were the same color as his overwear. Too frightened to raise his line of sight to the edge of the cliff, he let a yawn escape from his parted lips. Since the boy was yet to affirm himself with a suitable sleeping schedule for his time at Beacon, he placed all of his faith in his beloved bitter beverages. But he had only chugged the drink down before his arrival, it will take a few minutes for its effects to kick in. As he stood there, the gusts of wind attempted to flip up his hood over his scalp. The teen was draped in the same attire as the previous day, and it was in his best intentions to return with his clothing intact. Well, it was in his best hopes that he would even make it back, but he placed enough trust in Tactician. He glanced at the firearm strapped to his back, since Gen was yet to enter combat, the marksman rifle was in its passive mode, a substitute for a safety option. The sun’s rays deflected off of the gun’s stock and pierced his eyes, forcing him to turn away from his weapon. Letting out a sigh, he continue to mentally brace himself. ”We’re gonna kick some butt! Yeah! I’m gonna hug one of those big mean monsters to death!” The ceaseless jeering of Exuberance irritated Hio slightly, but his vocal atrocities were accompanied by Aggressor’s insinuations directed at the persona. Half-tempted to facepalm himself, he managed to restrain such an act in public.

Unable to creep into a daze, Gen was forced to bear through their usual arguments. He glanced to his side, noticing his hooded friend was standing beside him. The boy wasn’t surprised by Rielle’s refusal to leave the homage of her red hood, since she was surrounded by students who were equivalent to complete strangers. Only able to see a tinge of blonde hair wandering from behind the headwear, he was unable to see her expression. ”I wonder how we’re going to get there. This cliff is facing an ocean, and I’m not the best swimmer.” It was beyond him how the girl could keep such a calm composure. Hio was on the verge of shaking, thankful that his pants hid the movements of his kneecaps. After a few minutes of waiting, the woman who would be assigning them their mission waltzed over to the group. Whilst the headmistress took her time, Gen took peaks at the remaining ten students. He vaguely recognized a portion of them from the trip on the airship. Among them was the very student who was responsible for the explosion, who pleaded under the saving grace of curiosity. There was also the alcohol enthusiast of a faunus, the calm boy who was sporting a white formal suit, and a few others who originally seaked respite at the bar. Though he wasn’t too interested in their unique utilities, his fellow persona was probably in the midst of documenting each and every aspect of their weapon.

Gen was basing any thoughts and strategies off of rumors which floated around the school body. Tales of his seniors’ past experiences would hopefully act as a guide through the mission. The woman had a stern, intimidating expression engraved into her face, complimented by the expertly combed red hair. The strands were of a darker shade compared to Rielle’s apparel, he could imagine the locks of hair possessing abilities beyond common semblances. As if they were capable of enveloping any light and hope of her adversaries, it only made Hio shudder along with the cold even more. The woman marched down the line of students as she began her greeting. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as short as yesterday’s speech. She continued on to referencing their seniors’ stories of the evaluation;

""Whatever ideas you have about the test, forget them. You twelve will be set out to achieve a different objective. In this test, there is no pass or fail. It is pass... or die."

And with that, any theories of Gen’s were deemed a bust, making his heart drop at a tremendous rate. The task forced upon them would be completely from scratch, a first time experience for both the academy and the students. The boy didn’t feel any better when he was notified that his spot was hand-picked out of the whole entire first year class. The woman stopped before Rielle, whose attention was focused somewhere else. The headmistress instantly took action in reprimanding her for such a sin, and balled a first around a grouping of her hair. Gen’s mouth flew open, though any flow of words was brought to a halt as his eyes narrowed at the hand. The headmistress was only lightly grabbing onto his friend’s hair, leaving some breathing space within her palm. The act was most likely intended to instill understanding from the students, affirming her position as their headmistress. The boy receded from any further action as he listened to their orders and what they entailed. ”Units of two? Alright, there’s somewhere to start. But these monsters sound like something which should be dealt with great care. Sounds like something that should have been assigned to more adept individuals. But I guess I can feel viable to this academy if such a task has been given to us.” As the headmistress’ synopsis came to an end, she raised her hand to the sky, making a grin of farewell to the twelve.

"Good luck."

As soon as the woman’s attempt to boost their morale left her mouth, she ceremoniously snapped her fingers, conjuring circle of glowing light below their feet. “Good day to you too, headmistress.” He politely bid to Opal as his vision was filled with a sudden flash. Once his eyes finally dilated to the sudden change of brightness, he finally took in his surroundings. Gen was teleported into a desolate cityscape. The paved roads had cracks and seams running through them, the shattered remains of architecture rid next to the streets. Within a second, the boy had transitioned from a peaceful cliff to a life-threatening area. “Alright, guess I’ll give up the reigns here.” He pouted aloud, glancing back at his fellow personae, “Don’t give T. too much trouble, alright? I’ll be watching from the waiting room.” As soon as he finished the statement, E. leaped onto Gen and tightly wrapped his arms in a bear hug, ”Don’t leave! Tactician calls me mean things!” Gen held back the feeling to laugh at the manifestation’s complaint, “You know he says that stuff because you are always blabbing when he’s training.” He patted E’s head and took a step back, retreating back into his personal bubble. “Well, good luck T. Find Rielle, meet up with the others, and complete the objective, alright?” Receiving silence as a response, Gen exhaled deeply and shut his lids.

Tactician:

In a split second, the personae switched places, relieving Compassion of his control over the body. Releasing the grip he had on the puppet strings, Tactician took his place and reinstated control. As Gen’s eyes flew open, his kind expression was replaced by a more aware and stern look. He observed his surrounding, taking into account every employable vantage point. “It’ll take too long to find a position of leverage within these ruins. Looks like I will be fighting on equal ground.” Such a fighting style rarely ended in his victory, as it was an area he was at a deficiency in. Killing the target before they even get a proper sighting of Gen was his personal safezone in combat. He autonomously raised his arm to the grip of Sagaciter and tightened his hands. Unsheathing the firearm from the leather bandolier, he readied the rifle by applying pressure to a button near the trigger. As soon as he pushed down, the collapsed barrel of Sagaciter extended to its full length. The lights embedded into the edges of the rifle lit up a light green, accompanied by a faint humming, notifying Gen that the weapon was fully prepared.

Glancing back at his fellow personae, he made a motion with his head, “Let’s get a move on. We need to get out of the open.” The only way to make way through unknown terrain was to go about it stealthily, adapting and amending the chosen path as one progressed through the terrain. Resting his finger on the trigger, he held the firearm out as he sprinted towards the sidewalk. T. then continued to weave the body through alley ways, straying away from being spotted. Not sure which direction to take, Gen continued blindly in hopes that he would stumble upon the church. But such a dream was unobtainable, so he had to feel contempt with fate’s intervention. After ten minutes of wandering, all he listened to was the stomping of his own feet. Luckily, the secondary personae were in perfect sync with him, leaving no room for misinterpretation of noise. As he rounded a corner, he found himself standing before an enemy. Gen instinctively raised his firearm and aimed down the optics, confirming that the creature is indeed a living entity. The theory was finalized when the thermal sight registered the beast in a white outline.

”Grimm. Stay back, you two.” He mentally ordered the duo as he analyzed the creature, oblivious of his presence. Hio recognized the animal from a reading Compassion treated himself to, commonly known as a Raptor. The reptile’s face resembled a white mask, its body was covered in contrasted feathers. At the tip of a tail almost twice as long as its own body was a red fin. ”Judging by the size of its dorsal frills, it’s a male. Must be a lackey.” After determining the raptor’s gender, he prioritized his attention with its sharpened claws, capable of eviscerating flesh. Um. T. That bastard is turning this way.” As A. made the statement, the grimm’s eye narrowed at Gen, facing the side of its head to him. ”Indeed it is, A. Well, guess it’s go ti-” The train of thought was cut off as the creature raised its mouth of serrated teeth and let out a series of shrill cries. Gen took this chance to attack the beast, squeezing the trigger tightly as a volley of projectiles were sent towards the raptor. With the assistance of his semblance, the rounds attacked it from multiple angles, dealing damage to a majority of its body. Singed from the searing effects of the munition, the lifeless corpse fell to the ground. Gen cautiously approached the body, putting another round into the creature’s skull for good measure. ”It must have been pretty young, didn't even put up a fight. Alright, let’s go. The rest of the pack should be arriving very soon.” As if on cue, the boy heard multiple sets of footsteps nearby. Similar calls echoed in the distance, eminated by the rest of the raptor’s family. Gen let out a sigh and raised the firearm once again, ”Primary objective: Find Rielle and the others. Secondary objective: Eliminate hostiles.”

Kaesey had made a rather large and overly-complicated plan to break into one of the school's many supply closets, but as soon as she'd found a suitable place to drop her bedding and had laid down to 'test it out' she'd fallen right asleep. Making friends was tough work and that combined with the excitement filled day had been enough to wipe her out. The next morning she awoke with a start, jumping up and gathering her things as quickly as possible. For once, this haste wasn't because she was late but rather because she was super super SUPER ready for their first set of trials. Her father had told her all about the team-making process and, while he didn't leave out any of the gruesome details, KK thought it sounded like the most fun thing in the world. Donning her carbon-fiber breastplate and forearm guards, covering both with her sky-blue blouse, she quickly strapped on her thigh-guards, pulled up her steel-toed leather boots, and slipped on her fingerless gloves. The last thing to do was to reweave her long, flowing hair into its typical tight 'battle-braid' and then swing Breakr over her shoulder. Giving herself a thumbs up in the bathroom mirror, along with an unpracticed 'war-face', she was just about to skip her way out of the hall when she received a message on her wrist computer. It was a Beacon Professor, Pewter as the rather serious woman identified herself, and she told Kaesey she was to report to the cliffs within 10 minutes.

Hustling up to the gathering, she took her spot at the end of the line and inspected her fellow trial students with a few cooed 'Oooh's and 'Ahhh's. They looked strong, though a few might have been a little nervous, and KK silently wondered which one would be her first team-friend. When the headmaster finished giving them their instructions and the glyphs below them began to glow, the energetic girl couldn't help but let out a gleeful cheer as her vision faded into nothingness. Within in instant the world returned and she found herself standing at a four-way intersection; the street cracked and uneven and a rather large tree growing in the place of a traffic light. "This is so... apocolyptic." KK's voice shattered the silence and echoed down the empty street. "Cool!" A sudden rustling sound behind her caused her to turn and face the six glowing-red eyes staring hungrily at her from a thick wall of brush.

With several hungry growls, the three Beowolves stalked into the open with heads down and teeth bare.

"Doggies! Come to play?" The little girl said sweetly with a cute tilt of her head that caused Breakr's head to slide off her shoulder and hit the pavement with a heavy metalic 'thud'. The Grimm creatures did not answer as they fanned out around her until the one in the center decided to lunge with a vicious snarl and razor-sharp claws leading the way. In one graceful motion KK sidestepped the attack with a twist, one arm bringing Breakr around in a tight spin. A loud 'Crack!' resounded through the street as the vicious flail head connected with the side of the Beowolf's head and the momentum behind the blow sent its limp body tumbling away in a cloud of dust. The two remaining beasts snarled angrily but were clearly thinking of a more cautious approach. Kaesey never let the weapon stop moving as she replanted her feet, keeping Breakr in a fast spin at her side. One of the creatures before her let out a quick howl that was almost immediately answered from some distance away: a call for backup. "No fair..." Was all KK muttered with a pout as she carefully backed up so as not to let a creature get behind her.
