Sachiko looked at the sheet she gotten she didn't even remember trying to enroll in the supposed academy still she supposed it was better than her other options. Still she supposed as she walked towards the train to take her to the school that she should be happy she was accepted. As a level 5 her options while great was also limited every school wanted a level 5 attending if not just for the sheer prestige it could potentially bring. Thus her options was limited in trying to find a school that would accept her and not use her status to try and grow bigger. Ironic day to start a school semester on as well she thought after all the system scan was today and it was a city wide event so it was a odd choice to start a school year on but she wasn't in charge. As these thoughts passed her mind she quietly walked to the school and through the gate there was supposed to be a assembly before the system scan than the classes started for the day. Or so the guide said on the other paper the acceptance letter came with. It would probably be better than being next to a certain ice cold level 5.

Shinjiro

So apparently a brand new, state-of-the-art, and ultra-exclusive school had opened up.

Okay, sure. He knew that was happening, that stuff was all over the news all summer. Nothing had a hype train behind it like Hybrid Academy, not even Ronda Rousey at her height of being crammed down everyone's throat in the first half of the 2010s. Nothing. Guy couldn't go a day without hearin' about it opening for the incoming semester for moths now, it being officially accepting its inaugural class as of today was nothing out of the blue.

What was completely out of the blue, however, was the fact that when he checked the online student registry, HIS name had suddenly popped up under Hybrid Academy as opposed to his old school. What the hell?

That couldn't be right, he'd thought, but after a vigorous mashing of his F5 key, nothing changed.

Still there, on the screen, proudly within the comparatively small list of names was Karasawa Shinjiro.

It must have intentionally been placed there, no glitch in the system nor on his screen.

"Huh. Can't have been my grades that got me there, because if I'd gotten anywhere closer to failin' history..." he'd begun, with a rare thoughtful grimace.

KNOCK KNOCK

"School Delivery!" called the familiar voice of the local mailman, Mike.

The grape-haired esper smirked, heading for the door.

"FFFFuggit. I'll take it!"

And the next morning, he'd found himself clad in a swanky, yet very distinct Uniform, schoolbag slung over one shoulder as so many casual students did, and scrutinizing both completed form AND hastily jotted-down directions, two pieces of paper clamped under the relentless pressure of his thumb.

System Scan today, too... today's fuckin' bi-zeeeee. Sheesh!

"Oh shit, I turn here." he noted, hastily backpedaling back onto the sidewalk from the street and turning on his heel to his right.

WHOOPS!

Close call, Shinjiro. Masterfully saved.

Give that stuff a gold star.

He grinned, and kept walking, searching for anyone else sticking out like a sore thumb in the crowd.

Bang Constantine - Intro

He remembered all the events that led up to him joining the school known as Hybrid Academy.

"We're going to Japan!" His mother had told him on a perfect Goldilocks day in Virginia. "Isn't that exciting, Bang?"

"I'm excited!"

"I wasn't talking to you, honey."

The phrase "We're going to Japan!" was interesting because much of his friends talked about interesting things about the interesting place in the most interesting of times. He remembered one of his best friends saying something about how there were plenty of surprises such as wide-eyed Japanese women with porcelain skin, top-quality figurines, and even maid cafes. Bang had listened to his words intently, not knowing a single thing as to what his friend was saying, but still, he listened. But he did not expect to see the entire population of Japan have a bunch of women with porcelain skin holding top-quality figurines inside maid cafes. That sounded stupid even to him. Realistically, the population of Japan would have a good balance between men and women since it was a country like any other.

The day after his mother's announcement, yet again she announced, "We're going to Japan!" Bang did not know what to make of his mother's excitement for Japan. On one hand, she did seem like she had friends overseas, but on the other hand, the fact that she kept announcing "We're going to Japan!" over and over again like an alarm clock made Bang doubt the legitimacy of her state of mind. But his family seemed happy, so Bang kept quiet about it. He personally felt excitement only because of the idea of travelling in a completely new country other than the United States of America. Or Europe. He had no idea why they visited Europe so much.

On another day, his mother announced again, "We're going to Japan!" But this time, she had a luggage present with her. Bang knew that she intended on going somewhere. Was it Japan? Who could possibly know? Bang thought over this and decided to pack his own belongings. Boxing gloves, some comfortable clothes, some family pictures and several bucks just for the heck of it. He needed Abe Lincoln to watch over him.

A few days after he arrived in Japan, he knocked one of the most highly appraised boxers out within a single hit.

Bang did not know how that led up to him joining Hybrid Academy, but the thought of his parents wanting to find a good school for him was pretty good. So he just went with the flow of things and accepted his fate.

His parents would visit Japan once in a while, and he would live by himself. Since his parents had a considerable amount of money stashed in who-knows-where, he was allowed to spend a lot of money, but he personally found no use for it. So instead, he bought a cheap bike and pedaled down to his school. Donning the school uniform of Hybrid Academy, Bang pedaled.

A bit too quickly.

Apparently, the notion of pedaling a bike looked more like an exercise in Bang's eyes. As a boxer, he only used bicycles back in America to exercise for an enhanced boxing prowess. Simple exercises were one of his ultimate weapons. Of course, he did not think about deserting the idea of exercising with a bicycle.

As he flew down the streets, he felt something hard attack his bicycle's front wheel.

Ah.

A second later, he found himself soaring across the skies. Still sitting on his seat, the boxer blinked as he watched the world soar vertically. As he descended, the bicycle landed on its two wheels and bounced in the air.

Bang continued to pedal, wondering what just happened. He approached the school at a fast pace.

Sotoe walked through the gates to Hybrid academy. He reached into his back pocket and took out the acceptance letter he’d gotten in the mail. He really didn’t remember even looking into the academy. Then again his parents seemed way to happy when the letter came in. so he figured they had something to do with this, but he didn’t really care. It seemed like a nice academy and had some great looking areas he could practice parkour. He folded the paper back up and placed it back into his back pocket, tightened the strap around his guitar that was on his back, and continued to walk through the courtyard. In an instant he felt as though he looked weird.

“Man I must look like I’m lost,” Sotoe said to himself as he found a small window and looked at his reflection. His attire made him look like he just walked off the street while everyone else seemed to be a uniform or business casual. He took a deep breath and sighed, “Just remember: just like everyone else here. You deserve to be here and no one else can tell you otherwise.”

Sotoe found a small area that had a few benches and some walls he could free run off. Sotoe set his guitar down and tapped the front of each of his shoes on the ground to make sure they were on tight. He suddenly charged at one of the walls and ran up the small 6 foot wall before he climbed onto the top and took a deep breath. He looked on the other side of the wall and found a few steel tables near the wall. He made sure no one was sitting at any of them before he jumped down onto one before jumping to another and back flipping of the last on. He landing on the ground and rolled before he jumped back up and looked back at the wall and tables and said, “Let’s hope they allow me to do that while I’m here.? Otherwise this place is going to suck.”

Rebecca "Hydro" Click

Rebecca had awoken from another nightmare. She had been having a lot recently; the experiments, killing her friends... It was becoming almost too much for her; almost. She got up from her bed and walked to her computer. It was a small apartment, nestled deep into District 18, but with everything she needed to live. She rarely spent time there though, as her jobs with SOUL tended to keep her and her in hotels. First day at Hybrid Academy... Not my first choice but Sunless seemed to know what she was doing" Rebecca thought, eyeing the schools website that she had left open from the previous night. It was the newest school around, promising education in both esper and magical teaching. She picked up the letters she had received about being chosen and felt a somewhat sense of pride that she had never felt before. This would be like a fresh start for her; something for "Rebecca Click" to do, instead of being Hydro all the time.

Rebecca dressed herself in the school's uniform and made her way out of the apartment and towards the school. She knew exactly where it was, since it was a big deal and there were posters for it everywhere. The news was all over it 24/7, and it's popularity hadn't decreased in the slightest now that it had opened. It took a good half hour walk to arrive, but when she did she saw that everyone else was arriving at about the same time. The most eye catching was a kid scaling a 6 foot wall with little to no effort. Is that free running? she thought, surprisingly confused by the concept. In fact, she remembered seeing him before, and in quite a few places. The most prominent seemed to be when she was returning home from a job; she tended to see him or someone who looked like him running and jumping around like a monkey. Strange little monkey, jumping around with so much energy Rebecca mused in her head as he disappeared over the wall. A new place and a new life, where she could live and be Rebecca. A place where her past didn't matter and she could forget about it all; that is what Hybrid Academy would be to her - and even if it wasn't, she would do as well as she could.

Months of effort were finally paying off, after everything he had suffered through and worked towards, Ali had what he wanted within his grasp. Nothing in his life before this could even compare to his current satisfaction. The spelling bee in 4th grade? The first time he managed to activate his phone magic? Nothing managed to beat the greatness of Alistairs home-cooked pancakes and bacon breakfast. If the neighbors had listened closely, they could hear him talking to himself and shouting nonsense like 'Godamn Alistair you are a kitchen Wizard' or 'Just like Mom's!' Usually Alistair wouldn't put this much effort into anything, but this was a special occasion. Unlike a sizable amount of the other students, Alistair knew about his acceptable into Hybrid Academy a nice while before they opened up. His old renegade priest-teacher had helped him get in and taught him everything he could before he was to be sent out to japan to live and learn there. Hell, without the old man he probably would never have even opened up his Rosetta stone account to learn japanese. Alistairs mind then jolted back to the present and on his breakfast, he then savored every bite of his meal and hoped the future would be as delicious as the pancakes he was shoveling down his throat.

Once breakfast was over, Alistair had dressed down into the uniforn, and had dressed the uniforn up with buttons and other dumb trinkets he had acquired over the past year. All in all, he had five different buttons on the front, one feather pinned to each of his arms, and several weapon designs sewn over the pants he was wearing. After checking to make sure he had the appropriate amount of bling necessary, he decided he was only to bring one phone to school that day. If it turns out this was going to be a mistake, chances are he wouldn't make that error again.

Ali' commute to the school was leisurely and comfortable. He walked with a kick to his step, and made sure to make eye-contact with everyone who wore the same uniform as him on the way there. While he wasn't sure if they saw him, Ali sure saw a couple strange characters on his way to the school. He was hoping that his uniform 'adjustments' would help him stick out, but some of these fools would stick out even in the godamn circus. 'Least it would mean that his classmates wouldn't be boring to be around, so he hoped. He also let out a little player in hopes that things would just play out well. As he found the school and started following the other students who looked knew, he thought back on how he never used to pray much until he met his teach' after the tablet incident.

Shinjiro Karasawa

"Holy shiiii-hi-hi-hit." The grape-flavored hothead bleated in English, with only the obligatory amount of concealment to the awe in his voice. Sailing some ten feet above the crowd, this white dude was on his bike and pedaling like hell itself was after him, even now! This dude was getting some sick air! And not to mention...

"He's reppin my new colors!"

Back to Japanese.

Oh, he could tell already, he was gonna love this school. Exclusive, secretive, and super state-of-the-art or not, this invitation only school musta been some Cromartie-esque gathering of badasses if he was going there too.

"RIDE ON, BIKER DUDE!" he called supportively with a thumbs-up thrust skyward even as the speed demon continued towards the school with as much haste as they could muster. Letting out a boisterous laugh, his eyes quickly picked out the next-most interesting person in the crowd, a shortish girl, wearing a blazer similar to his own in color...

One that had a very distinct hairstyle. Wasn't that one level five...

Eh, one way to find out.

"Hey, Two-Tails-Half-a-Dye-Job! You Hybrid like me and Speed Racer just now?"

Hat-chan ~ ハットちゃん

Something was missing.

Those were the thoughts of the teenaged girl known only to her compatriots by the moniker of "Hat-chan" as she inspected herself in the full-body mirror. Her reflection seemed off, strange, as if a puzzle that was missing its last piece. It was as if there was a gap in her sense of identity, as if her very self was incomplete. It brought a confused frown to her face. The expression on the mirror's image did the same. She rotated her body around to observe her back. Nothing. It didn't help.

She brushed strands of blonde hair away from her eyes.

Nothing.

Something was missing.

She scratched her head, lost in thought.

Oh. There it was.

Hat-chan reached for the aviator cap on the nearby stand and took it.

She tugged it down onto her head.

Her lips quirked into a smile.

There it was.

Something was no longer missing.

~~~
Something was missing.
Those were the thoughts of the teenaged girl known only to her compatriots by the moniker of "Hat-chan" as she counted the shining metal coins sitting within the palm of her right hand. Their weight seemed off, strange, as if a recipe that was missing its last ingredient. It was as if there was a hole in her pocket, as if a Kickstarter was incomplete. It brought a confused frown to her face. The expression on the salaryman before her did the same. She allowed her eyes to roam up towards the man's face to observe him. Nothing. It didn't help.
She brushed strands of blonde hair away from her ears.
Nothing.
Something was missing.
She recited the exact price of the coffee again, lost in memory.
Oh. There it was.
Hat-chan reached for the wallet in the salaryman's hands and took it.
She shook out a single one yen coin.
Her eyes scrunched up into a smile.
There it was.
Something was no longer missing.
~~~

Something was missing.

Those were the thoughts of the teenaged girl known only to her compatriots by the moniker of "Hat-chan" as she commuted along the silent concrete pavement on her way to her newest school. The atmosphere seemed off, strange, as if a revanchist republic that was missing Alsace-Lorraine. It was as if there was an overabundance of quiet, as if life's energies had dulled to a low ebb. It brought a confused frown to her face. The expressions on the nearby youths on their way to be educated did the same. She breathed in a deep breath, tasting the air. Nothing. It didn't help.

She brushed strands of blonde hair away from her mouth.

Nothing.

Something was missing.

She listened to the shouts of hot blooded young men, lost in the sight of a boy on a flying bicycle.

Oh. There it was.

Hat-chan reached down into her pocket for her smartphone and took it.

She snapped a photo of the scene.

There it was.

Her brows rose up into a smile.

Something was no longer missing.

Sotoe had lost himself in his free running and parkour. He would always tell himself he’d do a few tricks before stopping, but this place had so many places to jump off he had been doing parkour for a least thirty minutes. Whenever he got in this state, everything else didn’t matter. He didn’t care if people saw him or recorded him. It was all about the thrill seeking and fun of it all.

“Nice,” Sotoe said as he examined his handy work. He had moved a few of the metal tables in place near a wall for his next stunt. He walked backwards and took a deep breath to prepare himself. He then ran at the tables and jumped onto the first one, leaped to the second one and finally climbed the wall. When he got to the top of the six foot wall he sat perched like a gargoyle and examined his next target. His attention was draw away by a man yelling something. He seemed rather exited to be at the academy, but then again so was Sotoe.

“Geeze, tell us how you really feel,” Sotoe quietly laughed to himself. He went back to fining his target. His search landed on a large tree in the middle of a court yard. Sotoe smiled before he said, “Target acquired.” Sotoe then leaped down and rolled onto the ground before got back up and walked over to the tree. His walk soon turned into a run before he sprinted towards the tree. In a second he ran up the tree base and grabbed a tree branch and pulled himself up. He did this with little fault that it almost looked like he defied gravity.

Once a few feet off the ground; Sotoe slowed his pace and carefully climbed the tree, inspecting each branch before climbing onto it. Sotoe learned that when you’re climbing trees. It’s not about speed, but precision. Sotoe found a large branch and to sit on. He quickly climbed up to it and took his seat on top of the branch. There was an opening in the leaves where he could see everything.

“Man, this is amazing,” Sotoe said with a smile as he sat back and admired the view. This was one of the reasons why Sotoe loved free running and parkour. For views like this made him feel alive. He could sit up here all day and not care.

The little monkey kept leaping about as Rebecca walked further onto the school grounds; this this time he got into a tree. Strangely enough though, she could hear hollers of an over excited kid down the road. He probably wasn't going to the Hybrid Academy, but if he did she hoped they wouldn't be in the same class. She approached the tree the ape had climbed into and started talking to it.
"Excuse me little monkey, do you need help getting down?" she asked. He may not have BEEN a little monkey, but he acted like one and that made the similarities irrefutable. As she looked up the monkey was staring out across the city. It was a beautiful place, but staring at such things were never quite understood by Rebecca. They were times to be savoured, yes; but it should be done with the company of a friend or someone you like so that the opportunity wasn't missed. silly little monkey she thought, wasting such a nice view all by himself. Maybe he was lost. It did seem like that might be the case as she couldn't see the school's uniform anywhere on his person.

Still looking up, she noticed around her people giving odd looks to her. They must not have seen the monkey in the tree. That was rude of them - completely ignoring a rare occurrence such as this. Monkey's weren't very common in Academy city so this was a special moment. She reached into her bag and pulled out a banana that she had brought along. It was going to be her breakfast of sorts, but the walk to school had taken her appetite. And besides - the lost little monkey looked like he could do with something to eat. Rebecca had read somewhere that monkey's liked banana's.
"Here little monkey," she said holding the banana up into the tree, "You look hungry so you should eat!"

Sotoe smiled as he sighed and looked at the great view of the academy high up in the tree. His attention was diverted to some man talking to him. When he heard the women call him a little monkey he busted out laughing. Many people who free ran and did parkour, like his friends. Hated people comparing them to monkeys. However, Sotoe didn’t mind it since his parents would usually ask him why he preferred to run around like a monkey than a normal person.

“No, I can get down just fine actually,” Sotoe said before he began to climb down the tree. If he made climbing up the tree look like he defied gravity. He made climbing down the tree look like he defied the laws of physics as he swung and fell down to each branch. He made it look easy like he’d lived in a tree all his life. No wonder she called me a monkey. Sotoe thought before he landed on the ground startling a few of the other students who thought the girl was talking to the tree.

“And no, I don’t want a banana, can’t stand the taste of them, “Sotoe said before he added, “A word to the wise. Most free runners don’t like to be called monkeys, but I’m okay with it. Kind of makes me laugh. “Sotoe said before he smiled and extended his hand. “Name Sotoe Yamato, but call me whatever. I’m cool with any name.”

He looked at the uniform and sighed, “Please don’t tell me that’s the schools uniform. It’s so bland and makes me feel like I’m like everyone else. There’s no characteristic to the uniform. Everyone will just blend into the crow and not shine. Oh well, guess it’s just a sacrifice I’ll need to take.”

"No, I can get down just fine actually."

The little monkey in the tree hopped down and stood in front of Rebecca, which was cause for alarm in of itself. The monkey definitely did not wear the school uniform, like she had thought - maybe he wasn't in the school. Then he declined the banana she offered him, which downed her slightly. Rebecca had always wanted to feed a monkey. Silly monkey not taking the banan- she thought, but was cut off by a slightly rude statement. Apparently 'free runners' didn't like being called monkeys, even though that was what they were. He extended his hand to make a formal greeting, but being the naive girl Rebecca was she didn't see it like that. Instead she took a step back and pulled out a small hand gun from her bag just enough for him to see. Then he commented on the uniform and she dropped it back inside the bag. alongside the banana.
"Oh... My-My name is Rebecca. Sotoe was it? Are you attending this the Academy then?" she somewhat stuttered. How? She never stuttered in front of Melting Point nor Cocoon, so why now? It didn't matter though and she turned to the side from him.
"You know, monkeys like you are rare here. Being called one is a good thing. It means you are special and unique." she said. Why was she acting nice? "I had a friend like you. She was a little monkey too, but..." Rebecca trailed off, her eyes wondering across the landscape and to the general direction of District 19. With that she drifted away, walking up to the school without saying goodbye, with an odd smell of burning coming from her.

Wu Fuwei (吳 福威)

The streets of Academy City were always lively. To see people bustling to and fro was the norm in most districts. After all, if one was to take a normal city but give an abnormally high number of adolescent youth lacking in parental figures, walking and talking would no doubt increase dramatically. Indeed, Academy City was a city for the enterprising youth of the world, and their liveliness was a contagious plague that had spread like an epidemic throughout the streets.

However there was something else that was unfortunately usual in this city.

A young foreigner, zig-zagging through the streets on his bike, in a jacket with Woodles' Noodles duct taped on the back.

Tommy Woo had a delivery to make.

Woodles, after all, had a reputation to uphold, to be even a minute late was a disservice to the customer. Tommy Woo, would never let a customer down, for their daily lives were hard enough, to make it any worse would be a crime against humanity. A war crime of the highest caliber in the war against hunger. At least, that's what Tommy's dad had always taught him, and even now those words rang true.

"Boy, cold noodles leads to a cold heart. We must warm the hearts of our customers so that they might be merry. Otherwise, and pay attention to this boy,"

"You will not get tip."

His father truly was a man worthy of the highest praise.

However getting distracted into such tangents was not the way of Woo Family Noodles. The sacred art of delivering food and sustenance to their customers was something that deserved no less than 210%. Tommy Woo was not, after all, a lackadaisical man. He did not do things half-heartedly, or half-cocked, or any of the halves. No, Tommy Woo redoubled his efforts in every facet of his life.

Only a few seconds later, Tommy Woo was outside the door and greeting his customer with a smile. Opening his mouth, Tommy Woo spoke in his still rather weak Japanese. English may have been easier and possibly workable, but the customer would feel more at ease when speaking in Japanese. "Delivery from Woodles - Woo Family Noodles for a Mister Sakamoto Haruka-San."

Was he supposed to add a Mister and a San? Japanese was confusing. Still more respect was always better.

Not a minute later the sacred transaction was complete and Tommy Woo was off on his way home. Another Delivery completed perfectly on time, yet that did not mean he would simply rest. After all, every minute outside of the house was a minute of business lost. Hence, Tommy was more than grateful that his school still had another month before the next year started.

Upon arrival home, Tommy Woo noticed a letter stuck under the door of his small shop, which, truth be told, was more of an opening in the wall than a proper store. Curious about the potential new order, and remembering his manners in always ensuring prompt responses, Tommy Woo did not dilly dally in his rush to the letter. Smiling about the potential prospects as he gingerly, yet quickly, opened the letter. The sense of anticipation was palpable.

Dear Boy,

It was a message from his father.

Congratulations! I have increased your prestige, and the value of the Woodles Family Noodles, even further. From here onwards you will no longer attend Noriaki North but Hybrid Academy.

Wasn't that the fancy new school that had opened? How did father accomplish that?

Of course dear boy, I trust that you will not be late on your first day. It is the reason why I've sent this letter a month in advance, for school starts on XX/XX at X:00. Hopefully there were no delays in the arrival, but I am a little weary of this international mail system. Nevertheless, I wish you the best, boy. I trust you will bring honor to the 吳 family name.

XX/XX at X:00?

That was today.

And 30 minutes from now.

Not wasting another second on such pointless thoughts, Tommy Woo put back on his helmet and rushed to his new school. By his calculations he would be able to make it with only a minute to spare. The students would no doubt be confused by the foreigner on the broken down bike hastening to their school, but Tommy Woo had no time for such worries.

For Tommy Woo had a delivery to make.

And this time, he was the package.

Sotoe saw she was a little down and disappointed that her offer was declined. He felt bad so he accepted the banana, “I’ve actually.” His speech was cut off by her showing him a gun. He quickly threw up his arms and stepped back not wanting a bullet in the head as he quickly said, “Look: I’m sorry if I offended you but there’s no need to shoot me.” Things only got stranger when she put the gun away and introduced herself. Sotoe couldn’t get a read on her. Was she trying to intimate him or just playing a cruel joke.

“It’s nice to meet you Ms. Rebecca. I am attending this academy. I got my letter here if you wish to see it,” Sotoe said before he slowly reached in his back pocket and took out his acceptance letter. Sotoe chuckled a little when she said being called a monkey meant he was unique. He shrugged and said, “I’m really not that unique. These days many people free run and parkour. It’s nothing new.” Sotoe then realized she had walked off and he was a bit perplexed but he figured she forgot something and needed to go get it.

“It was nice to meet you Ms. Rebecca. I’ll see you later I guess,” Sotoe said still a little taken back by the way she acted. He didn’t want to judge so he refolded his letter into his back pocket and sighed before he looked around and realized he needed to go back for his guitar. “I hope no one stole it.” He had left it sitting by the first wall he had climbed which was in eye shot. He saw it still sitting there and a smile formed on his face. Before he walked towards it he stopped and smelled something burning.

“Someone must be cooking something,” Sotoe said before he walked over to his guitar and placed it onto his back. He looked around and added, “I wonder if we have to sign in somewhere to get out dorm room?” he surged and walked back to the tree he had meet Rebecca and sat down at the base of it. he took out his Ipod and placed the ear buds in his ears before he pressed play.

Bang Constantine

The boy continued pedaling as he recalled his last year in middle school. It was a particularly interesting school, if he put it in an underwhelming description of what it actually was. As a boy who casually lived among the strange and peculiar, he found himself accustomed to some of the strange events that occurred in his life.

His last year of middle school began. Taking his seat next to the one of the windows, Bang took out his pencil case and prepared a pencil and eraser. He was about to take a quick survey on bog-standard questions the school asked him to answer every year. He filled in the first blank.

Someone snatched his pencil.

Looking up, Bang found himself staring at a buff and mean-looking boy that looked like a thirty-year old. His eyes locked onto the man who took his pencil. The two did not blink as they remained silent.

Then, the boy ate his pencil.

He ate his pencil.

A pencil.

Bang nodded. This boy must have forgotten breakfast, he thought to himself as he took out fifty more pencils. And as the boy consumed all of the small bars of lead by himself, Bang decided that high school could be potentially more demanding than middle school.

Bang nodded. He did find it strange to hear that this school would be co-ed, meaning that both men and women would be attending classes together. Still, there were probably little to no differences with how male and female students were treated. His Mysterious Mexican Friend, whom befriended him as soon as they met in Japan, taught him that. And if his experience from the Virginian middle school was right, then he would have no problems in avoiding rumors of him wanting attention. All he needed to do was train, work, eat... *insert more stuff here* ... *insert more stuff here* ... aaaaand sleep after doing his daily activities. At the moment, his attention was centered around doing well in school and getting something out of the time he spent there.

The dark-haired boy's expression remained idle as he dodged a motorcycle that nearly ran him over. Why the motorcycle was on the bicycle lane, he would not know, but he decided that Japan worked differently from the United States of America.

Another motorcycle popped up and crashed into his bicycle.

Bang flew and tumbled across the bicycle lane, his body shrunk into a defensive ball stance as he rolled. As he slowed down, the boxer slammed his hands against the asphalt beneath him and stopped abruptly. He turned, watching the man riding on the motorcycle zoom into a corner as a police car chased after it and the motorcycle Bang had managed to dodge.

Oh.

"..."

So things did work similarly in Japan. His bicycle went missing as soon as he analyzed his surroundings.

Bang got up. He himself had never realized how strange his luck could be. Even now, he considered the event to be a normal occurrence, not knowing that a normal person would make a huge (and justified) fit out of the siutaiton. A boxer needed to overcome all obstacles placed in front of him, after all. Thankfully, Bang had flown behind a billboard, so it would make it harder for students to see what actually happened to him.

But anyway.

He was now close to the school. That was the important thing he really had to keep in mind, not the concept of getting run over by a motorcycle. Dusting his uniform, the dark-haired boy stood up. He made sure the contents of his bag were not obliterated as he walked a bit further. A good few minutes later, he stood in front of the school.

It looks pretty good, he thought to himself positively. And that was to be expected, considering how he came from a pretty iffy middle school and ended up with a plentifully prestigious high school. Carrying his bag like a businessman, Bang finally went past the front gate of Hybrid Academy.

Sachiko Tachibana

Sachiko stopped as she assumed someone was calling out to her after all despite the odd way her's was the only hair that was naturally multi color making it look like her hair was on fire. "You were asking something?" She decided to ask as she quietly took out the pair of bright red headphones that was in her ear. She would be polite she may not know a lot of the new level 5's but as knowledge went most of them stuck to themselves or in one case with his sister. So she was a bit different and decided that if they would stick to themselves than she would go out and try to be some sort of social person. "My name isn't Two-Tails-Half-a-Dye-Job for your information you can call me Sachiko." She said as she waited for the person to catch up and ask whatever question that was on that person's mind.

Shinjiro Karasawa

She had headphones in? Man, they blended right into that hair. Honestly, he didn't notice at all. She oughta get them in blue or something, make his life easier.

"My name isn't Two-Tails-Half-a-Dye-Job--"

He chuckled.

"For your information, you can call me Sachiko."

"Hey, you answered to it." he fired back, all mirth and cheek.

Sachiko. Bingo.

That name and hairstyle matched up with what he remembered about the Level 5 that'd been rumored to hang around his section of town the most, Sachiko Tachibana. Reclusive, Fiery girl of the Twintails, or whatever. Not much to go off of on personality. But, given that she even acknowledged a lowly man like himself's presence, he had a good feelin' about it.

Surprised Tokiwadai didn't snatch her up. If this place has precedent over them, we must be in the middle of somethin' crazy.

Just the way I like it.

A brief burst of jogging caught the purple-haired punchkicker up to speed with Sachiko, an unapologetic grin on his face as he reiterated his question.

"Alright, Sachiko, what I was asking was," he began, now alongside the twin-tailed girl. "That a Hybrid uniform like the one me and the dude on the bike got, or did Tokiwadai switch things up this year?"

Hat-chan ~ ハットちゃん

Parkour. Rapid cycling. One of Academy City's rare Level 5s. The energy of youth.

This school that she, the teenaged girl known only to her compatriots by the moniker of "Hat-chan", was in the process of attending possessed it all. A microcosm of the sovereign city-state itself, soon to be a possible home to a varied mix of eclectic individuals. From the boy leaping through the trees and his new, monkey-minded companion, to the panicked-looking Woodles' employee riding at an intense velocity towards the school gates, to the man seeking to become Spielberg's dreams ...

It possessed it all.

The teenaged girl known to her compatriots by the moniker of "Hat-chan" leaned herself against the school fence. The atmosphere was heavy, enticing, as if the myriads of unique students in beige were part of something great. Would the strangely-named Hybrid Academy be a great school? Would it provide her with a satisfactory learning experience that would ensure the prospects of comfortable employment survived even after she graduated?

She hoped it did.

Otherwise she would have to rely utterly on Youko to buy her all the newest DVDs all the time!

The teenaged girl known to her compatriots by the moniker of "Hat-chan" immediately decided that such a future was not one that she was willing to experience. Her only friend was too nice of a person, and depending on the Wakahisa scion's generosity and care more than she already had was a burden she was not willing to place upon her own self. Comfortable wages would ensure that the imagined scenario would never come to pass.

Speaking of friends ...

She adjusted her aviator cap.

Would she make any?

She took another photo, this time of the Level 5 and the boy next to her.

"EEAAHHHHHHHH!!!"

One more scream broke out as a knife was buried into the poor bastard's neck, blood spraying out in long, misty streams as he fell to the ground in a line next to nearly a dozen of his gangster friends.

"Sorry, but that was the wrong answer." A pair of silver eyes stared into the face of a dying man, his last breath seeping away before them. One last pitiful, pained sigh and the man went limp, sprawled over the bloodied floors of the warehouse next to so many others.

The silver eyes belonged to none other than a certain Anderson Jistudan, heir to both the Suimantra Yakuza Family and the Silverblood Syndicate. Shipped off to Academy City some odd days ago, the rising youth was already busy at work. Even if he had inheritance on his side, its always nice to have something to brag about to his parents. Of whom would undoubtedly be proud of his efforts and seeing their support for their child was coming along nicely.

"So, you're the next Red Hand gang member in line," Anderson casually strolled a short distance to the next person in line, he was trying to get them to join him under his own banner, but they were not cooperating as much as he would have liked. He opened his mouth and out came a question he had spoke 25 times today, with only 10 suitable answers coming back to him, "Will you join me?"

"Y-y-yes, pl-pl-please just doon't k-kill me-" the man's panicked and rushed voice was cut short by a loud crack of Anderson's pistol.

Kicking him over and shooting Mr. Please-have-mercy-on-me a few more time just for fun, Anderson threateningly loaded new bullets into his gun and smiled as he met the next person in line. The gangster opened his mouth, only for it to be filled with a bullet.

"Didn't like his hair style, too punk." Anderson explained to one of his henchmen who was part of a squad of big, muscled men with guns his parents sent him as body guards. To be fair though, who the hell would put their hair in long, spiky mohawks and dye the whole thing red? Anderson had seen blind hairstylists do a better job even if he was the one who gauged out their eyes.

"Botchan," one of the other henchmen lightly tapped Anderson on the shoulder as if he was scared of his young master turning his gun on him, "You must depart now or you will be late for school."

"Ahh, what a shame." Anderson sighed as all the other hostages in the line breathed a sigh of relief with him, "How long until Willhelm is here?"

"He is already awaiting you."

"Very well then, looks like you sheepies are spared today." Anderson turned and smiled to the poor bastards who tentatively smiled back before their captor turned to his henchmen, "Kill them all."

A collective gasp of confusion and shock gave birth from the open mouths of his victims, only to be instantly silenced by the roar of assault rifles and SMGs. Once again, Anderson grinned, now with a much darker, killer intent on his handsome face.

Two henchmen detached from the group and escorted him to the expensive foreign-built luxury car his mother bought him as a gift a year back, it was his favorite, built somewhere in Europe, probably Germany if he had to guess.

"Greetings, botchan." Willhelm bowed and opened the back door to the car.

The man himself was a fine specimen of European lineage who could traced his lineage from everywhere from Sweden to Italy and from Russia to Spain. Only the skills the butler posed were sharper than his features.

"Hello Willhelm," Anderson sat on the leather seats of the car, watching it be closed by a henchman as Willhelm elegantly took to the diver's seat and started the car. It was a tiny luxury room in it, complete with an ice box, a satellite phone, one of Anderson's many laptops and a small cache of weapons.

The young master rested his head back before he heard the pounding of foot steps. Looking out the window, it was the people who he had convinced to join him, their faces mixed with equal parts fear and equal parts obedience.

"Umm.. s-sir..." one of the taller ones tapped on the car window before it was rolled down, "What should we d-do?"

"What will you gents do?" Anderson began to chuckle, "You all are going to die for me."

In one quick blur, Anderson pulled out a classic sawn-off shotgun from a hidden compartment and shot at the first man. His head peeled back like a banana as his upper torso was peppered with holes. A few quick steps back and he collapsed on the ground in a bloody mess, his comrades horrified in shock.

"Now then, if any of you fine lads try something funny," Anderson sadistically grinned and pointed his gun to the mess of what was once a person on the ground next to them, "You'll also become tropical fruit'd."

With that, some of his henchmen pulled the gangsters away from the car before throwing them into the warehouse, shutting the heavy doors and barring it with a heavy lump of iron. Shouting and banging could be heard from the other side, something like "You promised us we'd live!". But all the screaming was silenced by Anderson's laugh as he got out of the car.

"As if you pitiful rats are worth my time." A henchman handed Anderson a molotov, which Anderson himself ceremoniously lit with a silver lighter. Within seconds it was in the air, followed by a swarm of others who all made their way to the building. The screams of burning men filled the air, thick as the smoke, but Anderson paid no heed as he turned around back to his car, his men piling onto armored SUVs, quickly leaving the site.

"My my, aren't you the scourge of god?" Willhelm chuckled as his master returned to his seat, storing away the shotgun and producing a school bag in its place.

"Of course Willhelm, for all who have sinned fall short of God." Anderson brought out a laptop to play around with some stocks, grinning as the roof of the warehouse collapsed. From now on, the path would be fruitful, it was showtime.

Sachiko Tachibana

"Tokiwadai was a school I was looking at same as Kirigaoka but in the end before I knew I was roped into Hybrid. So whats your story something similar to mine I am assuming?" Sachiko asked as looked at her impromptu partner for the rest of the way. "Also speaking of Tokiwadai if you want to see it so much Hybrid academy is technically its own island. Which happens to be next to the school gardens get high enough and you can see it for yourself. Hybrid academy was built on a artificially made island as a statement of the sheer power espers hold supposedly." She continued truthfully the island the academy on was artificial made my espers and magicians together like how they claimed hybrid was built for. It was a league of its own matching the school garden having it's own shops, stores and so forth. Hybrid island she heard the scientists call it was also divided into sections living, shopping, and school. Still to Sachiko all of this was pointless just man trying to showcase just how powerful it was or something of that nature she supposed.
