I mean, The Killing Joke was harmful. But even I felt it was a bit counter-productive to just revise things in the New 52 like it was still 1972. Barbara had been crippled for so long that it was going to feel unbelievable awkward no matter how good the Batgirl story was.

I don't think that's actually accurate. Gail Simone did a ton of character work with Oracle.

When the New 52 rolled around editorial wanted to undo all of that along with the character development Simone herself did on Birds of Prey. Simone's options were basically let this happen under someone else's watch.... or try and control the damage herself.

Personally, the better option probably would have been to leave the book in disgust and then when Babs book got panned, then ride a similar wave of sentiment for the old Barbara and have her get brought back with Wally West and the OG Superman...but it's hard to blame her for not knowing it was a possibility.

The closest we could get to the old Babs now is if Babs actively decided to take herself out of field work and become the information broker, network coordinator we all know.

Disabling her is not an option, it now has to be her choice.

Not only that, but Killing Joke was never actually erased, which was easily viable for Simone to do if she was so adamant about it being so harmful in the grand scheme of Barbara's in-universe history. In Simone's origin issue, Batgirl #0, the story ends on the night in question when The Joker shows up to her doorstep. I don't think Simone really had much of an influence on the decision to turn Babs into Batgirl again, especially since she seemed to kinda not enjoy writing that book compared to how she wrote Barbara in the past.

Oh man, Ditko died? That's a damn shame, dude created one of my favorite comic characters in addition to my favorite comic character of all time. Rest in peace.

...in the end, you guys will all quit just because you will have arrived at the point that you all hate Kai-ro like he's Hal "Second Coming of Emerald Jesus" Jordan in the current GL run...

Also, this RP needs to be consistent and more successful than all of our past games combined. If only so nobody can say they did it better than Master Bruce and the community that takes to him like a fish to water.

But hey, I liked about three or four episodes of Supergirl so it's already better than Batman vs Superman by that metric alone.
