Lord Wraith Actually Three Otters in a Trenchcoat

Member Seen 18 min ago

I'll make the call at the end of the week, just to let everyone get their two cents in.

Right now it seems largely undecided, with you and Wraith leaning in favor and three remaining fairly neutral.

I'll discuss your idea of an extension for the event with my Co-GMs, but I have no clue how that'd go down. Might seem like a cop-out, though I'm personally not all that opposed if it's all largely focused on a singular event.

For the record, I am in favour of another MME, I am not in favour of extending the season to accommodate it. If the season needs to be extended for the MME, I'd rather not have another and focus on kicking off Season 2 with a bang or something to that regard.

I think the best idea is to end the season on a MME but maybe, as an idea, have the 25th of September not be the end of Season 1, but the start of the second Multiplayer event that will end Season 1. It still keeps to the deadline, then I imagine the event will go on for two/three weeks before ending on a big high five and someone saying "We should team up more often." Obviously not everyone would be required to take part in the event, but there'd be the knowledge that once the event ended it was over.

In all seriousness, that's up to Morden and Byrd. I defer to whatever the people want in most cases, but that's specifically a matter that I think should be left to GM discretion.

So, this morning I wake up and hop on my laptop. I open up Chrome, head to RPG, and...

... I think Wraith is catching up.

Yeah, he started from my second post.

Do not even joke about a Civil War event for this game. Gowi will explode and begin planning how each and every character and NPC will murder each other. It happened in a couple of the Maximum games. The horror.

I don't think Civil War or the SHRA/Accords is really an appropriate story avenue for a game where most of the heroes haven't even met eachother.

Besides. Batman would kick all of your asses.

I mean sure, he can barely handle one mind-controlled superhuman like Jessica Jones and has gotten his ass handed to him by Deadshot at least once, but c'mon. He'd adapt.

Batman would be too busy having a nervous breakdown and hallucinating about his dead parents to do anything. And, in the end, he'd be the Bill Foster of this Civil War.

I was actually planning on PMing the GMs about the next big event, mostly because I had some possible fallout from one happening in New York baked into my Season 2 storyline. Not necessary, I can create my own destruction in NYC, but I thought it'd be fun as a big fight fallout. I like the idea of having another one. Outside of my collaborations/interactions, I only have one story beat left.

Interesting...

So that's three in favor between Wraith, Sep, and Henry, two neutral with Retired and SB, and none opposed.

Also, a question for everyone in the game:

I've been mulling it over a bit, and while I know a second MME is due towards the end of this season, does anybody actually want that or would they rather foxus on their own stuff and have the MMEs reserved for next season, to give a little more breathing room?

Reason that I ask is because I don't want to pigeonhole anyone who feels like they absolutely must contribute after missing out on the last, potentially leaving their characters in an awkward phase of a rushed wrap-up if we begin another event. The thing I learned with the first Surfer event is that we can't really control how long it lasts or what happens when there are multiple moving parts, so I wonder if that'd be the case with another, given we're on a time crunch.

Plus, it's our Freshman season. Exploring our characters in lieu of a ton of interaction isn't entirely without merit.

I'll leave it up to majority rule. Personally, I could go either way.

I won't be involved, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. I've been pacing mine out in such a way that major characters are more established in the universe than mine and he probably won't don the costume until late in season (which given it's now August probably comes as little surprise).

Having major characters involved in MME's and the world familiarising themselves more with the Supermans, Batmans, Spider-Womans and Captain Americas of the world does more to set up for Moon Knight as a Johnny-come-lately on the cape and cowl scene.

I kind of already presumed the game's concluding date would get an extension.

I've learned never to presume or assume with this game. This entire season has been one giant learning experience for me as a GM, and all of it is definitely going to inform how I approach Season Two. It's exciting, but also highly unpredictable on a day-to-day basis. That's why I even put up the MME to a vote, because the original plan was actually to have three and we're now going to have two, if the vote turns out in favor.

We'd have never been able to pull off three. The scale of it was going to be way too high, and in hindsight, it was probably for the best that it didn't happen. Alot of peoples' characters, my own included, aren't ready for what was originally intended to be the third act. The season's big bad would've just decimated everyone.

Very true. Not sure what it means for Season 2, though.
