Prologue

She would sow the first seed for a nascent world to be born; summoning earth for the lands, water for the seas, wind for the skies, and fire for the life that would blossom - the four elements proceeded to merge into a single shape that would be the foundation of further creation. The world that was her conjured canvas stayed blank, waiting in a state of emptiness for the hands of the artists that would come in due time. She must call to them now.

The heavenly voice of the red goddess echoed across the infinite void, resonating with otherworldly power and divine absolution. “I am Anath Homura! Come forth to me, and become the cosmic cultivators and architects of a new realm! Join my pantheon, and become Divine! Shape the sturdy land, shift the singing sea, sculpt the soaring sky, rewrite reality in accordance with your visions!”

The barren orb to be a new world that she had created still silently hung in the center of the celebration, like an immense heart that had yet to begin beating with the hum of life. It would be the source of so much more; clever civilizations and widespread wilderness, creatures of all shapes and sizes, and a multitude of imagination manifesting such wondrous sights that would inspire those that would be witness to it all.

Existence swirled with revelry as it revealed itself to the unknown, and allowed outsiders to enter. The newcomers were free to claim their mantles as deities among the burgeoning pantheon - to become the gods and goddesses of this world.

Synopsis

This is a story describing the Divine and their great acts of creation; the unfolding history of the cosmos as a new pantheon of gods and goddesses seek to express their will upon the known world and its numerous denizens. This is Divinus...

The sacred seed of a nascent world shall be sown, and Anath calls out to those that would become its cultivators and architects - to those that would become Divine. These new deities originating from both near and from afar shall shape reality in accordance to their desires with the cosmic might that they possess. Anath intends to recede into her realm, and has granted free reign to those that would join the pantheon and enact their vision upon the world...

These deities may shift the landscape, sculpt the seas, stain the skies, beget a myriad of flora, fauna, spirits and elementals, both the beastial and the civilized. These deities may craft potent relics and command powerful armies, or conjure horrific monstrosities fought by sanctioned heroes seeking glory as they defend the dreams and passions of the Divine. There is no end to the tales that will be told when the world is woven into existence...

The Divine adhere to many rules, but do not be daunted. This RP is about weaving fantastical stories, and exploring a new world wherein gods and goddesses walk among mortals and rewrite reality. All of the rules are for the sake of cohesive writing and fair play, so have fun!

Mechanics

Turns

The roleplay is divided in turns which change on the 1st and 15th of every IRL month. They are associated with the passage of time IC, but it's typically vague and left to the players.

Each turn gives the player Might and Aspect Points to use, any points not spent at the end of the turn are wasted and do not carry over to the next turn’s budget.

You will always receive 5MP/5AP

Aspects

An Aspect is an element of the universe over which a god rules absolute. These 'elements' can range from the obvious (Love, War, Death, Crafting and classical elements such as Water and Fire) to the abstract (Journeys, Secrets, Purity, Loss, etc). They often align with a deity beyond merely what powers they command, especially in their worldview or personality. Aspects are unique and cannot be shared. Only one can truly master their chosen facet. A god cannot innately sense the aspect of another god.

As well as Might, Aspects allow the player to spend Aspect Points (or AP) on actions related to their Aspect. A god begins with one Aspect. Additional Aspects require a player to spend 3 MP in actions related to that new Aspect. A player is then able to spend an additional 3MP to acquire this new Aspect.

See the Aspect Points section below for more detail.

To unlock another Aspect, you would need to spend 3 might points (MP) towards its acquisition.

Example; A War god makes an artifact for 1MP; a crown that dominates the mind of the one who wears it and turns them into a monster. That War god then has 1/3MP spent towards the Domination Aspect

Once they have spent a total of 3MP or more towards the Domination Aspect (can be three individual actions, one whole sum or a combination of both), they then can then spend 3 might points (MP) to purchase that Aspect. They are now the god of both War and Domination.

Finally, Aspects allow for discounts in the might catalog. Unlike past Divinus where the discount rounded down, this time the discount will round up.

Example: The War god spends 5MP building a war related artifact. They decide to discount the artifact by half. 5/2 = 2.5, which we would then round up to 3. Thus they would only pay 3MP for their war artifact. Another example would be a 3MP Artifact, discounted to 1.5 and rounded up to 2, which would then be the cost. A 1MP artifact discounted by half is 0.5, rounded up is 1, thus their cost is still 1MP. An even example is a 4MP artifact discounted to 2MP, since it isn’t a decimal the number remains 2 and is not rounded up.

Realms

A God’s personal locus of power. A realm is a loose term to describe a place or seat where a God resides. From a towering alabaster castle, to a woodland of dark pines, an ocean monument or a deep and dark mountain home, a realm can come in many different shapes and flavors. All share these common points however; It must hold a space in the physical plane. The realm can be ‘moved’ and made somewhere else for a flat additional cost, you can only have one realm at a time. A God has absolute authority in their own realm but are never completely invulnerable. Finally, a realm can only be as large as a minor change to the landscape.

All realms cost 2MP to create and 2MP to relocate (as needed). A realm can be purchased with 2 AP, but then the aesthetic and function of the realm must match the aesthetic of the Aspect.

Might

Might Points

Might Points (MP) and Aspect Points (AP), also known as Might, are the primary ‘currency’ of your characters and are a way of measuring the power and exertion that a god puts into their various actions. The ultimate limit on the powerful acts of your gods is based on these Points.

All gods receive a base income of 5 MP & 5 AP per turn. Aspect Points may not be spent towards future aspect acquisitions. At the start of each Turn, all unspent Might and Aspect Points from the previous turn are lost.

Might is spent whenever your god creates something significant or performs a feat of great godly power beyond your regular capabilities. Typically more Might is expended for more powerful actions. MP and AP can only be spent in whole number increments; an act which would be worth less than 1 MP could probably be performed for free.

Aspect Points

Here’s a further look into AP. Unlike Might points, which can be spent freely on anything in the catalog, Aspect Points can only be spent on things that have a direct correlation with your Aspects(s) or that which you directly create with MP - as a foundation for further creation. For example, a god of animals wishes to create an extraordinary species of giant goats. They are free to use their AP to do so, because their aspect is animals, and by extension, goats fall under that aspect. A god of death would not be able to use their AP to make goats, but would be free to do so with MP. (That is unless such goats are undead or death related of course.)

Aspect Points cannot contribute towards unlocking new Aspects unlike Might Points. Once you acquire a new aspect (once again by spending 3mp on relevant actions towards the new aspect and then purchasing the said aspect for an additional 3mp, you are able to use AP for said aspect.

The goal of AP is to allow a God to have points used specifically for their own aspect(s).

The Catalog

• 2 Might: Creating a relatively minor change to the landscape; rending a small valley or canyon, creating a river, raising a mountain or a (small) island. These changes will be barely visible on the world map; about 1% to 2% of a continent, or roughly 8 km in diameter.
• 4 Might: Significantly changing the landscape; creating a chain of mountains, or an entire desert, raising a large island or an archipelago of smaller ones. These changes would be prominently visible on the world map; about 20% to 30% of the continent, or roughly 2,000 to 3,000 km in diameter.
• 8 Might: Causing extreme change to the landscape; raising an entire (mostly empty) continent from the sea, or willing into existence a sizable (moon-sized) Celestial body. The equivalent of creating a new map for reference.
• 2 Might: Create a small ecosystem, which can fill a region such as a river, valley, mountain or small island.
• 4 Might: Create a large ecosystem, which can fill a large geographic region such as a whole mountain range, an archipelago, or desert.
• 1-3 Might: Create an extraordinary species. More might (up to 3), the more extraordinary.(Manticores, Dragons, Lovecraftian Horrors, etc.)
• 2 Might: Create a legendary beast of phenomenal power. (Godzilla, Thunderbird, Kraken, King Kong, etc.)
• 4 Might: Create a sapient species. (Something along humanities power scale; Humans, Catfolk, Hobbits, Goblins, Orcs) Note; Any sapient species cannot be discounted.
• 6 Might: Create an extraordinary sapient species (Something normally above the power scale of a human; Demons, Angels, Giants) Note: Sapience is special and uniquely define in this RP: Creatures that have the sentience feature can be imparted with knowledge, where nonsentient species have to slowly attain knowledge. Also, an innate enhancement is limited to 2 Might. (Honorary 3 Might, if 2 AP is spent)
  The sentience part cost 4 Might cannot be discounted, so the lowest a sentient extraordinary species would cost 5 Might (4 + 1 AP/MP Aspect-related) The 2 Might for an innate ability is the limit. Afterwards, every other enhancement is a Blessing/Curse, or would be something like knowledge and access to technology. You cannot create a 10 Might creature(s) in a single act. There is no option like that listed in the Catalog.
• 1 Might: Teach people an idea or technology. This idea or technology should be reasonably attainable from the people’s present culture and technology. However, the foundations for civilization and simple technology do not cost Might. For example; a common language, an understanding of how to construct a basic shelter, primitive crafting for art, clothing, cooking, transportation, fighting, scavenging, medicine, religion, and governance, etc. These freely gained foundations should reflect the environment in which the civilization emerges from, and have context provided for within the IC.
• 1 Might: Bestowing a group with a one-time gift of powerful artifacts beyond their present abilities to craft (e.g. a set of steel swords in a timeframe of copper age technology).
• 1+ Might: Blessing or cursing a group of people. These should come in different flavors for different gods, but in general, incurring the curse of any god should be a frightening thing indeed. The curse or blessing is like a whip or a carrot respectively; though it is the will of your god made manifest, it is not so powerful as to spell certain doom or utter paradise for those affected. Think something along the lines of perpetually good harvests for a blessing, and incessant nightmares or general sluggishness and fatigue as curses. Blessings or curses can last indefinitely and affect entire bloodlines or regions. Blessings and curses can manifest as a set of Artifacts that grant the Blessing or inflict the curse. A blessing or curse from a given god can be broken by said god free of charge or counteracted by a 1+ MP expenditure from any other god. The more powerful a curse is, the greater it costs and likewise the amount to break it. Deities can detect the presence of any blessing or curse in their locale. The nature and origin of blessings and curses cannot be innately discerned by deities without expending Might.
• 3 Might: Resurrect a dead creature.
• 1 Might: Create a Hero. These are exceptionally powerful individuals among your creations whose powers and skills are renowned and well beyond the capabilities of normal members of their species.
• 3 Might: Create a Holy Order. Just as heroes can come in a variety of forms and flavors, holy orders can likewise be a marauding horde, a circle of wizards, knight-paladins tasked with healing the sick and keeping the peace, or anything else.
• 1-5 Might: Create an Artifact. A functional relic with the amount of Might determining its overall power. If multiple gods work together to create an artifact, each can contribute up to 5 Might, so the most powerful artifacts will be ones that were made through the combined efforts of several gods. Artifacts can be lost, stolen, destroyed, traded, etc.
• 1-5 Might: Create a Monument. A functional site with the amount of Might determining its overall power. If multiple gods work together to create a monument, each can contribute up to 5 Might, so the most powerful monuments will be ones that were made through the combined efforts of several gods. Monuments are more powerful than an artifact of the same Might value, however this advantage is offset by their disadvantages in being immobile.
• 2 Might: Create a realm. See realm section for more information. Cannot be discounted.
• 1+ Might: Perform some other godly feat. You can expend Might to perform incredible actions beyond your innate abilities, such as manipulating the weather, hurling mighty fireballs, putting a city to sleep, shrugging off a devastating blow, punching someone really hard, manifesting a form that is far too much to be withstood by mortals, often kill or blind those who come into direct eye contact with said form. Typically an Aspectwill provide you with a wide set of godly feats you can perform for free, and Artifacts and Monuments provide more potent ongoing/reusable abilities. The more Might spent on an action, the more potent it is.
• 5 Might: Acquiring an Avatar.

Examples of Artifacts

For reference:

A 1 Might Artifact is an incredible tool that lets its wielder thrive in a location smaller than a 2 Might creation/change to the landscape, and to easily defeat mundane opponents or common challenges.
Examples; a blade that cuts through resilient material like metal and stone with ease, a cloak that allows its wearer to fly swiftly, a suit of armor that protects its wearer from magical harm, a wand that lets its wielder freely cast a simple spell, a bow that fire an arrow that never misses a target within range and sight.

A 2 Might Artifact allows its wielder to thrive in a larger location equal in size to a 2 Might creation/change to the landscape, and to easily defeat stronger species or heroic challenges.
Examples; a crown that allows its wearer to disintegrate their enemies, a decanter that supplies endless water, a ring that allows the wearer to shapeshift into any animal, a pair of necklaces that allows the wearers to communicate across the continent.

A 3 Might Artifact is powerful enough to slightly hinder the Divine, though too weak to harm them. It allows its wielder to stand against any other standard mortal opponent. Only the Divine are capable of breaking Artifacts of this power level.
Examples; a helm that allows its wearer to see through illusions and grants the ability to view places across the world, a pair of boots that lets the wearer choose to cause earthquakes wherever they walk, a shield of teleportation to appear in any location the wielder has visited, a staff that lets the wielder freely cast very strong and intricate spells.

A 4 Might Artifact allows its wielder to thrive in a location equal in size to a 4 Might creation/change to the landscape.
Examples; a lantern that wards away/banish/command the presence of mighty malignant spirits, a scepter that controls the storms - conjuring or dispersing destructive storms at will, a coffin that contains a copied vessel of the body and soul of the one attuned to its magic, a utility belt that can transform hundreds of other objects the wielder touches into gemstones embedded into the belt, and undo the transformation via touch again.

A 5 Might Artifact is powerful enough to allow its wielder to stand against the strength of Divine opponents, though it would not allow a mortal to truly defeat a deity. Artifacts of this power level cannot be broken.
Examples; A flying chariot that can illuminate all of a large region with its magical light, gauntlets that grant the wearer the strength to smash through a mountain, an orb that can control the local pace of time for its wielder, a small statue that transform into a legendary beast of tremendous size.

Note: The effects of various artifacts can be selected and used by any Artifact regardless of the Might level, the difference is the potency of the selected effect. For example, a 1 Might cloak that grants flight isn't as fast or durable as a 5 Might cloak that grants flight. In addition, a 5 Might cloak of flight may grant additional features that improve upon its function, such as improved reflexes and the ability to traverse in hostile environments that are dark or lack breathable air, etc.
Another example, a 4 Might coffin that contains the entire body and soul of a person that awakens upon the former's demise - a 2 Might coffin or container may contain a limb or brain that replaces that part of the person upon its demise.

The Innate Abilities of Gods

• Gods cannot be harmed by mundane weapons or magic, they are simply far too weak to do damage to a god. However, a god can muster enough power to hurt or even ‘kill’ another, even though true death for a god is a daunting task to pursue in a fair fight. Furthermore, gods do not suffer ailments that afflict mortals.
• Gods are able to shapeshift between their forms related to their aspects, and that of a mortal form. The maximum size of a deity is roughly similar to a large mountain - 8,000 or so meters in height/diameter, if you will.
• The very lands themselves can be bent to the whims of gods, all gods can freely create or modify the environment and its denizens in their localized area in ways akin to the acts listed in the Might catalog; such as changing the landscape, making an ecosystem or a monument, populating it with a myriad of life - These free actions cannot imitate any act that costs more than 2 Might. The conjured creations and modifications remain limited to a close proximity of a god, and disperse after a short duration in the absence of an aforementioned god, unless the required amount of Might is spent to make them permanent. Minor changes made to preexisting creations by a god using their Aspect can remain permanent for free. For example, a god with the water aspect grants a creature the ability to swim swiftly in water. This ability could be made permanent since it is related to the god's Aspect.
• The senses of a god stretch to that of the very horizons themselves, able to see in perfect clarity. They are able to see heat and magnetic pulls and they are able to hear for as far as they can see, selectively tuning out annoyances as they wish or discerning individual speech from a large crowd. What a God cannot do freely is read the minds of mortal kind unless they have expended Might in some capacity that aids with this endeavor. A god cannot sense the aspect of another god.
• Traveling as a god is innately faster than what mortal eyes can perceive, being able to run, jump, float, swim, or merely fly, faster than nearly all things in the cosmos.

On Avatars

Avatars and their use to Deities: An avatar is a fragment of a deities power. They can range from being essentially a puppet that has no mind or will of its own, or they can be completely independent of their patron deity and interpret the deities commands in their own way.

An avatar's use to a deity is twofold: Firstly, they are a direct extension of a deity's power, and can directly spend Might or Aspect points for their creator at any time. In addition, an Avatar's power is small enough that, unless an avatar identifies themselves or reveals their divine power, they can serve as virtually incognito agents of the divine.

Avatars, at least in comparison to their creator deities, are far weaker. Though even this comparative weakness is still far stronger than a mortal could ever hope to become normally. They do not require sleep, nourishment, or any kind of physical relief. Though, naturally, they may choose to emulate these needs if they desire. Beyond this lack of needs an avatar can effortlessly move at speeds that would make the fastest runners seem slow, undertake physical challenges that make even the strongest mortal seem weak, and perceive the world so perfectly that almost nothing can escape their detection.

Creating an Avatar takes 5 MP or AP if related to an Aspect. The limit to a deity’s avatars is directly tied to their total number of Aspects. If appropriately themed, an avatar may be discounted in price.

In addition, it is possible that becoming an avatar is something that a deity can reward a mortal, should they see fit to do so. This ritual will take 5 MP or AP, and will irreversibly convert the mortal into being an avatar while rejuvenating them to their physical prime. A majority of mortals, even if they interact with the divine on a daily basis, are not going to be mentally prepared for the aftermath of such a transformation: A feeling of limitlessness, access to heaps of divine knowledge, and access to the ability to create and destroy as a divine does are all things that they simply can never comprehend as a mortal, and these converted avatars will require careful guidance once the transformation is complete. However, these transformed mortals will have wisdom and experience that most deities will simply never be able to have, and can prove to be valuable advisors, spies, or leaders depending on what a deity requires of them.

New Gods

New players may join as recently arrived deities, or may join as a demigod. Demigods function much in the same way as normal gods do, however their Might and Aspect points are reduced to reflect their status, thus they will receive only 2 MP and 3 AP at the beginning of a turn. A demigod can become a god, if they prove themselves worthy of such a responsibility.

Champions & Orders

Great heroes of legend, whether they be warriors, scholars, or leaders, are those chosen by patron gods and gifted extraordinary power. These champions can be devastating forces on the field of battle, or they may even be wizened sages with little affinity for fighting. All champions are exceptionally resilient individuals but all champions can be felled one way or another, whether they have a singular weakness and such. Champions are able to, like gods, grant boons, create lesser artifacts, teach their people a technology or idea, or perform tremendous tasks using their own Spirit.

Spirit is a currency of sorts that is not meant to limit the pacing of a champion’s story or impose costs upon actions that normal mortals can do, but rather to act as a bonus that lets the champion occasionally get rewards or perform things that should otherwise require divine intervention. You can think of spirit as being akin to accumulated favor with the gods, or perhaps even bits of divine power itself.

Earning Spirit

1 spirit, at a minimum, is awarded to a champion for every post in which they appear as more than just a passing mention in one line.
1 spirit is additionally awarded to a champion if they are featured in a post that does not involve the deity that created them.
1 spirit is additionally awarded to all relevant champions if the post is a collab.
1 spirit is additionally earned if the post is of medium length (think about 5,000+ chars). This is just so that it’s not so much more ‘optimal’ to break posts into lots of smaller chunks to farm spirit.
1 spirit is additionally earned if the post is particularly long (roughly 10,000+ chars), and the champion features throughout it all.
4 spirit can be awarded as a lump sum if a champion embarks upon and completes a significant mission, quest, or personal goal of some sort that they either set for themselves or were given by another champion or mortal.
10 spirit can be awarded as a lump sum if a champion completes a divine quest. These can be handed out by any god or demigod for free, but they should be somewhat arduous and span over several posts in order to justify this princely reward!

Of course, given that heroes are far weaker than gods, they are not able to achieve the same great abilities or use spirit to perform feats as grand as a god might. What a god could make or do pertaining to their aspect at no cost, a champion must spend a significant amount of Spirit to even come close to replicating. Champions just generally cannot hope to outdo the gods without Herculean efforts. Some examples of how to spend Spirit are as follows:

Tor the Scholar desires to found a community behind him, choosing to found a tribe he spends 10 of his Spirit to found the group and imposes upon them his philosophy that plagiarism is sinful, and other such unifying thought.

Tor the Scholar then wishes to make a magical glowing tablet that does not naturally decay and which codifies the history and laws of the tribe; he spends 4 of his Spirit to make this minor artifact that will exist in the tribe until it is either destroyed or forgotten about.

Tor the Scholar then seeks to solidify his power by creating a magical crown that confers not only style and charisma, but also imbues its wearer with the ability to taste plagiarism if one licks a parchment or tablet in question. For this more potent artifact, 10 spirit is appropriate.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of Spirit expenditures:

The Catalog

2 Spirit: Push their limits to perform a single great feat well beyond what they're normally capable of, and far beyond what normal mortals could do. (e.g. wrestle with a much larger beast or creature, cast some gigantic spell, journey for many days without stopping for rest)
4-12 Spirit: Craft a powerful artifact. These artifacts are not meant to be as potent or extreme as those made by gods, and can be broken if mishandled; in general they are weaker than an artifact made by a god for 1 Might. (These Artifacts can range from Throgg the Death Knight attaching his soul to his sword to making a crown that scares away goblins). Spending additional spirit can allow you to upgrade the artifact, and you can do this incrementally over time.
8 Spirit: Invent and teach people a new basic technology, spell or idea. (e.g. stone houses, mercantilism, commune with birds)
10 Spirit: Somehow enhance a community to become exceptional. You need not spend Spirit to merely raise an army or found a city -- normal mortals can do such things -- but doing this will make them much grander. Think raising a mighty warband, founding a kingdom that shall endure for a long time, creating some subversive cult that might rapidly grow and undermine (and perhaps even destroy) a nation, or anything else. This can freely include some new technology or idea that binds them together, from the bullet point above.
12 Spirit: Anoint another Champion.
15 Spirit: Consecrate an area with some blessing or otherwise imbue it with power; for instance, making a farmland especially fertile, or a fortress’ walls almost impregnable.
25 Spirit: Found a holy order, which can include giving them unique powers: think along the lines of a new magic system, or martial art, or knowledge of how to craft some sort of exotic weaponry.
~100 Spirit: Attempt to attain demigod status. At this point, a champion will have shown sufficient valor to begin drawing the attention of the divine, and perhaps even Anath.

Holy Orders
Sometimes one or two champions isn’t enough, and instead a god might choose to create some large group to perform a similar role. Just as champions can come in a variety of forms and flavors, holy orders can likewise be a marauding horde, a circle of wizards, knight-paladins tasked with healing the sick and keeping the peace, or anything else. A holy order costs 3 Might for a god to found, but champions can alternatively create them with spirit.

The general rule of thumb is that the more members are present in a holy order, the less potent you should expect them to be individually -- for instance, a sacred band of ten warriors might have each one rival a champion in strength, but a vast army of a hundred thousand crusaders should probably confer only modest powers upon the members. This isn’t to say that if half the holy order is wiped out the remaining half grow twice as powerful as they don’t have to share some source of power with as many people (though it might make sense to say that the survivors were generally those that were more powerful to begin with) or that a circle of five wizards adding a sixth member should expect each individual to grow much weaker. It’s just that very powerful holy orders should generally be small in size, and that much larger ones shouldn’t expect to grant as much power.

However, you can have individuals that are both members of a holy order and champions, and/or individuals that are part of two or more holy orders at the same time.

Much as champions earn and spend Spirit, holy orders earn Prestige. This is once again meant as more of a reward that allows a holy order to create things that would otherwise probably need to be made by a god using Might, or to do truly exceptional feats, and not as some tax that they must pay in order to fulfill the everyday functions the holy order was created for. Prestige is generally more valuable than Spirit, but harder to earn.

Earning Prestige

1 Prestige is awarded for every post in which the holy order is not just offhandedly mentioned, but plays a significant role.
1 Prestige is additionally awarded to all relevant holy order(s) if the post is a collab.
1 Prestige is additionally awarded if on top of the above point, it’s also an especially long post (10,000+ chars) and they play a role throughout most of it.
5 Prestige is earned if the holy order completes a divine quest or directive of some sort that was assigned by a god. This should be somewhat challenging and take a while for them to accomplish!

Prestige Catalog

1 Prestige: Quickly recruit and train up to standard a significant number of new members. You can recruit members for free over time and hand out a uniform or whatnot to almost anyone, but it would normally take time to fully anoint them and get them up to par with the rest of the order’s members.
3 Prestige: Invent and proliferate some new technology, philosophy, or skill among themselves and/or surrounding communities.
3-8 Prestige: Manufacturing or enchanting some unique artifact. Much like artifacts bought with a champion’s spirit, these are meant to not be too extreme and to generally be inferior compared to those directly forged by a god using Might.
5 Prestige: Making significant upgrades to the holy order’s powers, equipment, or tactics; think of this as being equivalent to a Blessing or such.
5-10 Prestige: Consecrate some place as sacred, effectively either creating a monument or bestowing a blessing upon the region.
7 Prestige: Anoint a champion from some promising member of the order’s ranks.
10 Prestige: Forming a new holy order. This may splinter off as something wholly separate and rivalrous, or be a friendly sister organization, or be something akin to an upper rank within the holy order (with the two overlapping)

General Rules and Regulations

• The Golden Rule--Do not godmod/metagame/powerplay. It’s ironic because this is an RP with actual gods as characters; however, there are definitely limits as to the power level of our gods. We’re trying to make a collaborative story rather than host a game meant to be ‘won,’ so please keep that in mind as you write.
• The Rule of Fair Warning--Before significantly influencing someone else’s creations, especially if it is going to be in a destructive way, give them some fair warning OOC so that potential objections can be made ahead of time and plans can be shifted. Ideally conflicts between two gods that lead to destruction or harm of one god or its possessions will be written with the consent of both players, but if you think that somebody is being unreasonable us GMs can intervene.
• The Superior Samaritan Rule--Somewhere in every post, please attach a hider box containing a short summary of the post’s actions, including how Might has been expended in the post if applicable. As Divinus RPs have traditionally had some massive posts, this helps greatly when trying to keep track of all that’s been going on and when trying to make sure you didn’t miss any important plot point within some massive post. That being said, please do still try to read all IC posts and not just the summaries.
  Example: Your summary should convey the bare minimum of which characters were involved, what major plot points were covered, and which (if any) other peoples' characters you're initiating some sort of action with, and how MP, AP, Spirit, and Prestige was spent.
• Leave of Absence--Please give us forewarning on the OOC if circumstances dictate that you will become inactive in the RP for a time. I’m sure we’ve all seen the phenomena of people simply vanishing; it’s frustrating and leaves work where the others have to pick up the narrative pieces. Failure to follow this rule can potentially lead to your god being deposed IC; the Cosmos works in mysterious ways.
• Sexual Content--Please keep it PG-13. Fade to black, and always remember, the Guild Rules come first and foremost.
  
  The above commandments are most important. Almost every other conduct is to fall under the domain of common sense and the RPGuild rules, with the understanding that our goal is to collaboratively create cool narratives. Be considerate to one another and facilitate storytelling. If there are any concerns or clarifications required, the GMs are always happy to help.

Character Creation

As you consider ideas for your character and grapple with what you want to do, We would encourage you to first focus upon what sort of Aspect you want to have, and then use that as a foundation to construct a god that makes sense given that dimension.

Beyond the concept for your character, you should also have an idea of what you want your god to do, how your god might change or progress, how they will contribute to the story and how they will interact with other players.

Note: Returning characters from previous iterations is permitted, but that character does not possess any of their prior powers or possessions, and abides by the new system. When writing a returning character, please remember to not make it so it is required to read the previous iterations to understand them.

Before posting in the IC, your character must be reviewed and approved by the GMs. Afterwards, please post a copy of your character sheet in the Characters tab section for easy reference.

The Ferryman

Base Form:
The Ferryman’s base form is difficult to put into words. Well, the form - or the shape - comes fairly obvious to those with human eyesight: He, she, they appear as a lanky, bald humanoid in some sort of robed attire - a shepherd’s gown, perhaps? His, her, their hands reveal only a collection of skinny digits and an indication of long nails. The rest of the body hides within the folds and shadows of the gown, showing no further detail beyond the implication of a body.

Facial details appear unclear to onlookers - to some, they are sick and bony; to others, full and fair. No matter who looks, the face is either way always overshadowed by an obfuscating shade, perplexing onlookers further. That being said, the Ferryman can be perceived perfectly fine - he, she, they may just come off as somewhat off-putting.

Aspect: Death (Ferryman of Incorporeal Souls)
The Ferryman is a god of death, though not necessarily THE god of death. Death is a natural process, no less natural than being born and living - things are born, they live, they die. Everything from stone to mortal understands this cycle. Yet where the souls go after that? That is not necessarily a natural process. How do souls know how to get to the afterlife? What if there is no afterlife at all, but a reincarnation process instead? Hell, what if the souls don’t even realise that they’re dead?! Well, someone’s got to tell them and take them where they’re supposed to go, whether it be to some infinite field of reeds or inside some pregnant lady’s belly.

The bottom line is that souls, like people, need infrastructure. The Ferryman exists to meet that demand. This gives the Ferryman power to transport souls, as well as a natural affinity for finding, seeing and speaking with the dead. His, her, their powers are split between the self and the vessel (to be constructed IC): The small ferry known as Wellington can traverse air, land and water and carry several more souls than it should seemingly have space for. To make sure souls cannot escape, Wellington's passengers are, uh, protected by a barrier meant to keep the rowdy spirits in and, uh... Well, it doesn't protect against outside threats, so it's more of a seatbelt or a straightjacket for those extra fearful of the life beyond death.

Persona:
Despite being a god of the dead, the Ferryman is far from dreary. After all, one can’t be wearing a sullen mug when everyone’s dying to meet you! As death gets the reputation it gets, the Ferryman makes great efforts to ensure that the passing into the afterlife becomes an interesting - if not fun - journey for all parties. He, she, they are quick with a joke and even more interested in hearing the stories of the many dead - as well as sharing stories they’ve picked up along the route.

Alone, of course, the Ferryman understands that life is not all sunshine and rainbows. He, she, they take time to sit quietly on the eternal sea of existence, contemplating the meaning of life, death and everything in between. They fashion themself somewhat of a philosopher, and will gladly sit for hours discussing.

Myth

Raff had done it. He had sworn he had done it. It, it had been right there in his hand, right? He, he had surely felt it being there, then in his neck pouch. The earl’s ring! He had had the earl’s ring - he had seen it; he had felt it; for crying out loud, he had even smelt the sweaty gold stink coming off of it! So why… Why hadn’t he had it when he was supposed to turn it over to Hawaldr? What had gone so wrong?!

Slowly, the boy felt a strange cold squeeze at his extremities. The pooling blood underneath his run-through torso began to seep between the planks on the floor. Above him, he saw the giant of a man, Hawaldr, the earl’s disinherited brother, wiped clean his sword with a sorry, deflated woolen cap - Raff’s cap. His muscles twitched briefly and he tried to say something - a bloody ball of phlegm was all he could muster. He heard some response from Hawaldr, but his ears felt numb and stuffed - all he heard was a rumbling voice that slowly, yet faster and faster, ebbed out into nothingness. His vision blurred over; he lost control of his limbs, his tongue, his neck. Whatever nerves still lived reported a pressure point coming from the shoulder area - Hawaldr had surely kicked him. Yet Raff could do nothing to retaliate. The last sparks of life faded from his eyes and so did the breath from his lungs. Raff, son of Rudol, was dead.

Just as the fact of death was established, something else was born. Or, well, to say that it was born would be to gloss over its already seventeen year long existence. It was just that now, upon its second birth (perhaps a better term), the soul of Raff had to go on without a body. Only, he hadn’t realised this just yet. The vengeful emotions within the boy boiled over and in a burst of rage, he pushed himself to his feet and stabbed a finger in Hawaldr’s direction.

“THIS IS UNFAIR! I HAD IT IN MY HAND! I SWEAR IT!”

Hawaldr did not reply. In fact, he slowly turned away and mumbled to one of his cronies, “Get rid of him… And have Kraca bring a mop!”

Raff blinked ethereally. “H-hey!”

“Woof! Rough day, huh?”

Raff spun around and beheld a man (or possibly woman, or maybe something in between - its voice gave no clues) leaning over a boathead snaking upwards. Raff followed the humanoid’s puzzlingly featureless (yet also fairly featurefull) face down along a pair of gowned shoulders leading to two slinky arms, fingers interlaced on the tall wooden head of a small dory with an equally long tail. Raff took a moment to rub his eyes as he noticed that, within the warm, cushy longhouse of Hawaldr’s farm, there was now an iridescent river flowing in from nowhere and out into nowhere. Upon this river rested the little boat and its grinning master. The Ferryman shot a glance down and clicked its figurative tongue.

“The ol’ belly shank, huh? Not the best way to go. Usually pretty slow, but you got lucky - he cut into your liver, so you bled out pretty quickly.” There was a small pause. “Hey, look on the bright side - at least he didn’t stab you in the back!”

“B-bled out, wha–?” Raff cast a look down, then slightly sideways to follow his corpse-prison with his gaze as it was being dragged away, leaving a trail of red behind it. He heard Hawaldr yell furiously: “No-no-no! Did your mothers drop you on your heads?! You’re getting blood all over my floor!” Raff felt another sting of rage and clenched his incorporeal fists hard.

“Damn, what an ass, huh?” the Ferryman added supportively.

“I had it. I had the ring. How, why was it not in my pouch?” He patted at the spiritual representation of his clothing and grabbed his pouch. With a deft squeeze, it gaped and revealed its contents - a copper coin and some pretty shells, but nothing else. “Why?!”

The Ferryman shrugged. “Couldn’t say, mister. I usually only show up a minute or two before a passing - must’a lost it before that.”

Raff paced around briefly. “The, the mud pools! The mud pools under the earl’s fence! I had to crawl through to escape the fort and, and…” He grit his teeth and kicked at a nearby chair - his incorporeal leg phased right through. “Damn it!”

The Ferryman’s grin faded somewhat and she rubbed her cheekbone slightly. “Well, if it’s any consolation, mister, I picked up his cousin a few years back, and he had gotten the axe merely for spilling water on this guy in the presence of the earl. To put it bluntly, he’s not the forgiving type.”

Raff deflated. “How is that any consolation at all?”

The Ferryman shrugged. “I guess we can establish that it wasn’t personal?”

“Just… I don’t need to be consoled right now. This is it. My life is over…”

The Ferryman’s grin returned in full and they sat down in the boat with a small chuckle. Raff spun angrily. “What, are you laughing at me?!”

“Oh, oh no, mister!” the Ferryman replied gleefully. “It’s just that your life, well, it’s only just begun.”

Raff blinked and walked towards the boat. “Y-yeah?”

“Oh yeah,” said the Ferryman with a nod. “Consider that whole “living” business the trial package; now the real thing starts.”

Raff swallowed and took a nervous step into the boat. He hadn’t been much of a sailor in his living days, but oddly enough, this little dory felt steadier and safer than the largest longship he had ever been in. He made himself comfortable and the Ferryman gripped a long stick from inside the vessel and stuck it in the (for the lack of a better term) river. The scene of Hawaldr’s house quickly faded into nothing as the boat phased through the wall and soared into the heavens, sailing the ether of souls. Raff sat agape and took in the sights of the world below.

“By the gods…”

“Yeah, it’s a sight, isn’t it? Doesn’t get much better than this.”

Raff swallowed again and sheepishly tucked his hands between his legs as he looked down at the floor. “So… What’s our destination?”

The Ferryman hummed in thought. “Well, I hate to break it to ya, mister, but we’re going to Aldion.”

“ALDION?!” Raff squealed in fear.

“Yup.”

“Y-you’re sure it’s, it’s Him, right?” Raff mimicked horns on his head with his fingers.

“Yap.”

For a brief moment, Raff sat still in shock. Then, with the vigour of a spooked rabbit, he shot up and tried to jump ship. However, before the Ferryman could warn him, the ghost hit the invisible wall at the vessel’s edge and bounced back dazed into his seat. The Ferryman sighed.

“Are you okay, mister?”

Raff quickly regained his senses and pushed himself to a stand once again. “Why?! Why am I being sent to Hell?! Explain it to me - WHY?!”

The Ferryman pursed his lips and pulled out a small scroll from the inside of his gown. “Let’s see here, Raff Rudolson… Well, I’m happy to tell you that your atonement, Mr. Rudolson, will likely be a short one. Theft, while a crime, is not at the top of Aldion’s naughty list. You should be out of there in no time– oh… Oh, oh, wait, wait, wait… Brokeoathto… Huh… Uh-huh…”

Raff furrowed his brow. “What? What?! Spit it out, man - am I just dropping by or…?”

The Ferryman frowned sympathetically and flipped the scroll so he could read it. “Yeah, no - see, your theft was at the top there, so I read that first - my bad. Says here, though, that you’ve been in the earl’s service for a good while - your whole life, it seems. Your father was a huscarl, right?”

Raff rolled his eyes. “More of a steward, that old geezer, but yeah…”

“Mhm, making you a serviceman by blood - you were a servant at court too, no?”

“I guess. Why?”

The Ferryman tapped the sentence under. “Looks here like you swore an oath of service to him at some point. Last year, was it? Stealing from your master, well… Aldion might not care all that much about theft, but breach of loyalty - hoo boy…”

What colour remained in Raff’s face drained. The Ferryman re-furled the scroll and put it back inside her gown. A half hour passed without a word before Raff whispered, “I… I thought I would have time to make up for it…”

“Mhm. Lotta mortals seem to think that way.”

“It… It wasn’t supposed to end like this.”

“It never is, is it?”

Another pause, this one shorter. The Ferryman eventually offered Raff a smile and said, “Actually, I had this other passenger whose story reminds me a lot of yours!”

“Please, I appreciate it, but…”

“No, no, no, you’ll love it. Now this guy, hoo boy… See, about a century back…”

Celestine, Goddess of War.

Name: Celestine.

Base Form: Celestine's base form is, for lack of any better description, beautiful. To start with basic physical features, Celestine stands at a staggering height of ten feet tall. This allows her to tower over most people and project not only a feeling of superiority, but a feeling of confidence and self assurance that she hopes inspires the people following her with their own feelings of confidence. Celestine's skin is fair and soft, and she is often warm to the touch. In addition to this, Celestine's body is both well endowed and well developed, with robust yet not overwhelming muscles letting her retain an outwardly feminine hourglass shape.

Celestine's silvery white hair is extremely long, reaching down to her ankles if combed straight. It's naturally slightly curled state keeps it hovering around the low-calf range. It continues Celestine's trend of being welcoming and beautiful by being consistently soft to the touch, and freeing itself of dirt and other contaminants moments after they're introduced. In addition to keeping itself clean, Celestine's hair repairs itself from damage quite quickly, and will regrow to its original length in minutes if cut unless Celestine wills it to stay.

Celestine's eyes are a dull blue in color, and possess a soft warmness to them. Yet unlike her other features these betray the other side of Celestine, as even when she is being kind her eyes carry with them the weight of someone who has seen things that cannot be unseen or left behind. Being an elf, Celestine's ears are long and pointed, with each one extending several inches away from her head.

For clothing, Celestine has one outfit that she wears constantly. Befitting of her status as a goddess of war, this outfit is multiple layers of armor. Firstly is a bright red hooded cloak with gold hemming. Along with this is a smaller version of the cape that she wears around her waist, with a cloth tasset hanging from the front. In addition to this is a full suit of gleaming steel gothic plate armor, with nearly every possible piece accounted for, save a helmet. Beneath this armor is another full suit of mail armor, and beneath this is a gambeson along with other thick, padded clothing. Finally, beneath all of this, Celestine wears a set of plain silver clothing. Interestingly, this armor provides nearly no actual protection to Celestine, as most of her defensive ability comes from her status as a goddess. Still, she is seldom seen without it.

Something else frequently seen with Celestine is her sword, Duty. Duty is a longsword with a bright red hilt and scabbard. It's blade is steel in color and can be made to glow as bright as the sun at Celestine's command. The sword is supernaturally durable, refusing to bend or flex even when under extreme duress. Likewise, it's equally overwhelmingly sharp, with any contact to the edge drawing blood or otherwise leaving a lasting impression. Otherwise, the sword is as normal as any other sword.

Finally, Celestine carries a shield, Loyalty beneath her cloak. Loyalty is bright red in color with silver decorations. It, like Duty, is supernaturally durable. Refusing to buckle or bend under even extreme duress. However, an interesting feature is that unlike Duty, which is extremely light, Duty is extremely heavy. This makes not only impacts with it incredibly punishing, but it could be used as a way to pin someone to the ground and immobilize them.

Aspect: War.

Celestine is a goddess of war, though she does not engage in it eagerly. First and foremost is the idea that Celestine does not enjoy the prospect of initiating conflicts, instead choosing to attempt to lead with diplomacy and compromise in situations of confrontation and conflict. But in spite of this, Celestine is not unwilling to go to war. Many of the tactics she will employ are defensive in nature, designed to sacrifice some offensive capability in order to maximize defensive value and minimize her own personal losses.

But even should she be brought into direct conflict, Celestine is not opposed to making amends and building bridges. But there is a devious side to Celestine, one that is often overlooked. To Celestine, war doesn't stop on just the battlefield. It can be continued into the hearts and minds of the people of the enemy. They can be brought in as new friends, turned into husbands and wives, and eventually completely assimilated, wiping away what was once their independent culture, taking its best aspects, and integrating them into Celestine's own kingdoms. Celestine internally calls this a "Polite war", but it is still war regardless of how kind it is.

Thus, the beautiful figure of Celestine and is just as much a weapon as her actual weapons are.

The general approach that Celestine takes to her aspect is a pragmatic one. She has no routine need to devote her divine power to displays of physical prowess. Instead, Celestine's primary use of her aspect focuses more on providing her soldiers with powerful equipment, devising strategies and battle plans, and raising fortifications as needed. When battle is upon her, Celestine has also been known to make use of her divine power to quickly move troop formations around the battlefield in order to quickly form a battle line, or to cause chaos among the enemy lines by diverting a cavalry charge from the front to the rear.

This is not the limit of what Celestine can do with the power of war, but it should illustrate some of what goes on within her constantly churning mind.

Persona: Celestine would generally fall under the definition of "Lawful Neutral". She is polite and caring, but looks after her own people and her own interests first and foremost. She'll see to their safety in a time of crisis, and if seeing to their safety also helps others, then they too shall be helped. Outside of this, Celestine is polite and reserved and, if you're not on her bad side, is generally pleasant to be around and open to most things.

Myth: Celestine frowned as she looked over the map of the Valley of Roses. Her soldiers were positioned in strategically advantageous positions, but the rain season was going to start soon. The entire valley would turn into nothing more than a slick mud pit. They had weeks at best, and days at worst, to move out of the valley. If they were lucky, a few volleys from archers could cause them to hunker down enough for the cavalry to mount up and charge, but they had set up a low-angle spike wall to deter Celestine's famous cavalry...

To say that there wasn't a simple solution was a bit of an understatement. It was possible that she could pull her own forces back and give some ground in order to try and draw them out of their fortifications and surround them on the field. The problem presented there is that they could only send a partial force out to claim what was left of her own fortifications and then proceed to pinch her own soldiers.

Such complication... But perhaps it was time to play the long game.

Starting to draft her orders, Celestine wrote that they should abandon the valley and pull back towards the ridge that they had taken last week. They would then re-fortify the position and wait for the rain season. Then when the rain arrived, they were to charge the valley and attempt to force the enemy to retreat to their prior fortifications. Then when they were caught in the slick mud left behind by the rain, archers would harass them for as long as they could to dwindle their numbers.

A few days went by, and reports came back that her plan had been a fair success. Knowing their numbers were weak, Celestine ordered a daring charge through the rain before they were able to recover. This crushed the spirit of the enemy soldiers, and they ended up capitulating. Welcoming the surrender with open arms, Celestine entered into phase two of her plans.

Establishing trade routes with the rose clans, Celestine had her elves trade away crafts of exquisite make for the rose-designed pottery, which was renowned for being able to resist the bitter colds of winter quite exceptionally. As years went by, more and more elves went to live among the rose clans, and with each wife or husband taken by the native woodborne rose clan members, the number of elves only grew exponentially, for each elf would only produce elven children.

Several years passed, and soon there were few of the woodborne rose clan members left. It was then that Celestine approached them, and offered them the choice to enter into her kingdom, as was their right as elves. With an overwhelming majority of elves, the decision was quite simple. And it was then that Celestine's victory was absolute, as the rose clans were no more.

Name: Eloreon

Eloreon

Base Form:

Aspect: Virtue is the catch all term for all the forms of goodness, justice which is giving those what they deserve, both good and bad, benevolent use of power, honor, protecting the innocent from harm, and defending the weak/or weaker than yourself (Chivalry/Valor). Mercy, not giving those what they deserve, when it's bad. Lastly compassion, simply granting relief from suffering, or doing kind things to others. Consistency is key in virtue. Eloreon will grant succor to those who habitually live virtuous lives, and reward them. Also, unless Eloreon wishes to show mercy, someone who is just living in a positive way in order to get reward is unlikely to receive much attention from him.)

Virtue can also be seen as a reward, in some way, that's unto it'self. A genuinely honorable person is going to receive the rewards and boons of Eloreon far more often than just an opportunist who sometimes displays a few redeeming qualities.

His roar has a supersonic effect on all enemies. On evil enemies, his roar has the added effect of terror and worse damage.

Persona: Generally Eloreon is Good, maybe Lawful Good but more emphasis on just Good. He wants to encourage and grow a benevolent, honorable society throughout as much of creation as possible. Eloreon is highly philosophical, and he can be forgiving, but he's also stern. For example, if he feels an evil doer who is generally turning away from evil he may let them die/kill them, but cause them to arrive in a positive after life/or perhaps try to help them work their way out of a bad one.

Aspect

The rich current that flows through all who draw sweet breath. Distinctive while numerous, refined while raw, unseen while felt; Blood is the life force of all living things. Whether nurtured or natured, one can not truly be alive without it. It is passion upon flushed cheeks, the kindling for all desires, while stoking the coals of emotion. The currents flow ever on, till death do you part. Yet… Such blood can become poisoned. Cursed by ill fortune, blighted by agonies and consumed by supposed superiority. Lashing out on uncontrollable whims and lust. Blinded by purity and fanaticism… Blood is the all encompassing essence that cultivates prosperity, hardship, function and life.

Without it, we are nothing. With it, we are everything.

Despite its immense importance to the form of a practical body, blood is so much more. An ocean has depth and blood is no different. It’s the purity of form, defining lineages and status. Providing reason and connection. It can empower and protect. It can transform and corrupt. It is the fire within, burning as embers or as a roaring inferno. Affecting endurance, strength and tenacity. Reshaping, refocusing, channeling all into the red haze of bloodlust or the smug whip of a master. Outside of the body, blood can be further controlled and manipulated. Becoming useful tools or terrible weapons. Wielded by a studied hand, blood has the power to be both used for life and destruction. But so often used for one or the other.

Wyn is the Goddess of Blood. Thus, her control is absolute. Through influence she may bless or curse, turning the most impure to nobility or the caring into monsters. Via creation, she is capable of forging artifacts that can empower familial ties, weapons that exsanguinate foes and creatures that drink the life force of others. She can manipulate brother against brother and family against family and so much more. For Wyn's vision shall be reborn in blood eternal.

Persona

A Goddess such as Wyn is a fickle thing. At one moment she could be pragmatic, the epitome of a reasonable being (as far as God’s go) and the next she could be imperious, vain and cruel or worse… a creature ruled by instinct. For Wyn is not just a fickle Goddess but one who is slaved to her extreme mood shifts. The three personalities of Wyn are each their own but always of her. Even when she is more mortal like in her thoughts and voice, or when she becomes a God of old, fanatical and ambitious. To the best of her all the way to the lowest depravity, she is Wyn, no matter who is at the forefront.

Maroon is the mortal, born of new beginnings. She learned to shed her godly coil and became better for it. She knows empathy and can be easiest to talk to. Ivory is the noble, what's always been, given new light. She is righteous and superior and she'll make sure you understand that. For all are beneath her, even the gods. Ebony is the beast and where reason is lost. She is animalistic in nature, a survivor who reacts on instinct and desires. Such loss of control is always a painful memory, for they are all together, even apart.

Base Form

Wyn’s form varies on the whims of her personality. Where at one moment she could look as if she were small and diminutive, the next she could look tall and regal; refined and carrying the aura of a proper Goddess. Worse yet, she could lose herself entirely and take the form of a monster. Oftentimes, she is a pale figure with a slender frame and long hair that falls down to the middle of her back. Such ivory locks could be well kept or left in a mess, much to the chagrin of Ivory. In a more exploratory phase, she could change her form to look like any mortal or take upon the awe inspiring, or more terrifying, forms of her aspect.

Aldion, King of Hell

The King of Hell

Base Form:


Aldion's form is fairly simple; a man with red skin and glowing eyes, with a pair of horns that can vary in size and shape. The size of the rest of his body also varies, ranging from the height of a building to the height of a normal human. He emits a natural aura of authority and command, and at its full force mortals will find themselves feeling compelled to kneel upon witnessing him. His favoured weapon is a one-handed warhammer with a flaming head. He also carries a magical tome of laws, ledgers, and contracts.

Aspect: Hell. As the God of Hell, Aldion holds domain over the Souls of the Damned. The 'damned' referring to souls who have committed some grave sin within their lifetime. Aldion holds power over such souls. He can sense or even control the damnation within them, and he uses this power to draw them to his realm. There, they are subject to intense and agonizing torture as a form of atonement, burning away any rebellious or compassionate notions, while instilling them with discipline and unbreakable loyalty to their new master.

In this excruciating process, the majority of souls are destroyed outright, after years or even decades of searing pain. The sinful energy of these souls is then converted into raw energy, which Aldion can use to create hellish objects or demons, although the objects usually have a corrupting effect on their wielders (or may have a condition that they can only be wielded by those who are already corrupt) while the creatures tend to be an embodiment of the dark deeds from which they were created. Some souls actually survive the process, however, or for some reason Aldion might allow them to skip it (perhaps as a term of some contract), and these are made into a specific type of demon - devils. Devils are demons who still retain some memory and personality from their mortal life, and have the potential to be far more powerful than a standard demon.

Demons primarily guard Aldion's realm against those who would steal from it, while devils usually serve as his agents on Galbar, although devils can be found in Hell and demons can sometimes be deployed onto Galbar itself. They are often cruel and wicked by nature, for while their evil nature has been tempered by discipline, and they cannot directly resist the Will of Aldion, they are nonetheless evil. Some secretly seek to test mortals; tempting them down paths of damnation, either out of a desire to bring more souls to Aldion or simply for their own fun. Others are more honest and businesslike - making contracts and bargains, offering power or services in exchange for the soul of the signer or some other heavy cost, often hidden behind a loophole. Damnation must be willing, although Aldion's definition of 'willing' is quite flexible.

Persona: Aldion does not consider himself to be an evil god. In his eyes, the task he performs is a grim, but necessary one. Mortals must be held accountable for their crimes in the afterlife, else there will be no incentive to steer them toward good. At the same time, he would never consider himself to be a good deity. No. He is a lawful one, viewing himself as a keeper of laws and an enactor of retribution. He tests the mortals, and punishes them when they stumble. Sometimes he will even offer aid to mortals, although he rarely gives out such gifts for free.

Aldion also harbours a strong respect for oaths and contracts, to the point where his demons are mentally incapable of knowingly violating any verbal agreement to which they have sworn their word, or any written agreement to which they have applied their signature. However, although all contracts and oaths must be honoured, not all contracts and oaths must be in good faith. As a result, when offering deals to mortals they will usually try to include all sorts of loopholes and overly specific turns of phrases. Of course, as a result of all this, both Aldion and his demons are naturally wary toward any oaths and contracts they did not design themselves.

There are many acts which Aldion considers to be sinful. Oathbreaking, whether it be by violating a sworn spoken oath or by breaching a sign contract, is one of the worst, even if the oath or contract in question is unfavourable or if the person had good reasons for breaking it - the only way to exempt yourself from judgement is if the contract has a clause allowing it to be broken under the right circumstances. If not, then breaking any significant oath or contract can damn you, whether it be reneging on a business deal, cheating on a spouse, or rising in a rebellion against a liege you have sworn loyalty to. Aldion does not consider contracts or oaths sworn by children to be valid, but children can nonetheless damn themselves through other grave crimes.

Heresy is another grave offense. Particularly, those who knowingly spread heresy. Aldion defines heresy as spreading slander or misinformation about the gods, falsely claiming to represent the gods, or as openly rejecting and defying the gods (rejecting or defying a particular god is alright, but not gods as a concept.) Of course the heresy must be knowing: someone who is raised with incorrect beliefs and is never given reason to doubt said beliefs will likely be spared Aldion's judgement. For someone who lacks such an excuse, however... Aldion will seek to claim their soul.

Most serious crimes are also enough to damn one's soul to hell. Murder, theft, cannibalism, treason, and perjury, to name a few. Any souls that have been stained by such offenses will be naturally drawn toward the fires of Hell.

Waste of a Character Sheet - Desire

Desire

Aspect

The Hanged One. An allegorical aspect representing the journeys of those that have become trapped by the lack of transcending their lies and limitations - those that have betrayed themselves. Continual defeat and catastrophe leads to the feeling of suffocation, like a noose around the neck, choking the fire of life until it is eventually extinguished. Suffering in stagnation cannot be cured aside from the act of being hanged, and so the symbol of Desire is herself as she slowly walks towards that which will heal her. The Aspect of the Hanged One commonly depicts this macabre march towards sacrificing the self and surrendering to the liberating touch of strangulation, though this is only one version of this Aspect.

To suspend the self requires strength to resist the influence of the cosmos and endure mystical isolation. Desire can cut the connections between the material and the otherworldly, severing the ethereal elements that construct sacred change such as communication, imagination and perception. Her presence brings solitude and grants her an aura that blinds others to the world around them, enforcing those afflicted into embracing suffering and strife until the only salve to all of the agony is complete suspension - to be hanged. Only afterwards shall solace be had and all, including herself, may ascend further. However Desire refuses to invert her perspective, to comprehend the glimpses that the aspect of the Hanged One offers by altering her position, and thus she is both the epitome and opposite of the Hanged One.

As wielder of this Aspect, Desire discovers the prevalence of every step leading towards her hanging, and the act of hanging itself. She can command strength and sight in mortals close to her, guiding them towards blessed asphyxiation by halting the vigorous song and dance of the cosmos. Separating the material and ethereal allows to her lead mortals away from annihilation and corruption, but prevents progress on the Sacred Path described by her mother, which Desire does not actually follow herself. Instead Desire will indulge herself in the defiant cage that she creates and protect the sanctity of life with her own way of attaining serenity, while still struggling just to breath.

Persona

She is selfish, and that is an aspect of herself that she embraced, for Desire did not bother to concern herself with that which would not bring her pleasure or benefit her somehow. Neither consistently cruel or benevolent; she knowingly considers herself capricious, changing her attitude and behavior frequently, yet unyielding when coerced by others - it is often very difficult to predict how she will react in various scenarios, which is a factor she enjoys very much. It is solely her love for her family that remains always the same, another aspect of herself that she has accepted with paradoxical feelings which often contradict her way of life.

She is the youngest daughter and simulacrum of Anath Homura, but senses the influence of another within her heart causing her to realize that there is a piece of her family that is missing from her life. She has discerned that she differs from her sisters, as her divine heritage is split between two as opposed to coming only from her mother, resulting in a growing distance with her kin as she seeks to uncover who she truly is, and what it means to be divine. There is a yearning to set out on a journey within her, a yearning that she cannot deny herself.

Desire ever prominently expresses her emotions in every encounter: She would bite her tongue until it bled, when seething with rage. She would swiftly leap and laugh displaying an abundance of vigor, when brimming with euphoria. She would tremble and her eyes would be wet with profuse tears shimmering with sorrow, when overwhelmed with heartache. She commonly conveys her craving to experience both the mundane and the exotic elements of the world, peering at her surroundings with an inquisitive eye.

Form

She appears most commonly as a butterfly, with blue and purple wings. A dark blue rings the outside, foremost a light blue that lightens as it gets closer to her body. Aft more a deeper purple that brightens as it approaches the front. Her wingspan at full extent could reach out covering a human palm. Rather mundane looking at first. Her legs are all the appropriate lengths and well proportioned. A perfect little butterfly in fact.

Life

Ia’Akhul knows the joy that comes to life. She knows the beating heart, the breath of fresh air, the sip of cool water and the taste of sweet fruit. That which lives and the revelry of life is the domain of Ia’Akhul. All living things, from the innocent babe to the voracious monster, from the gigantic beast to the humble insect. All that grows, all that develops, all that lives; all is welcome in the embrace of Ia’Akhul.

From the tiny and simple to the large and complex. From barest bundle of struggling chemicals coming together in a simple microbe- to a full sapient being. All that lives she adores, she cares for, she embodies her fullest aspect of.

Persona

Ia’Akhul herself is rather hard to place on traditional scales of morality and personality. Amoral might be the best way to put it. This isn’t so much because she completely lacks such capacity- rather her own self is askew. She takes life seriously and wishes to spread it yes but that’s not much of an alignment. In her own actions she might coo and care for a lost calf, and in the next consign a cow to be devoured handily. This does not change from size or complexity of life, from a genius artist to a little microbe it could go much either way. To her, there is no inconsistency, these are not different behaviors, rather an embracing of life at its fullest- in the many ways it goes.

Name: Lektoria Koreh Tellur, "First Secretary of the Core"

Base Form:



Lektor's first and most common form is that of a sphinx, a woman who also presents the aspects of a hawk and lion, even though they are minute, in the form of ears, tails, claws and a pair of hawk wings, while most of her body is entirely human, more specifically, a dark-skinned woman, with short shoulder-length hair and a somewhat muscular, slender body, not too tall. Her eyes have the faint orange glow of magma, and her very blood is similar to that too in both composition and temperature.

Having the bounties of the earth at her command, she does not hide her immense and unequal wealth, on the contrary, often her clothing is entirely made of gold, even when she tries to "tone it down" she will still wear plenty of jewelry. Her presence is easily notable, not in divine shine or loud sounds, but in a low rumble, a "pressure" as if gravity was a bit higher near her.

Aspect: Earth. One of the primal elements, from the sand of the beaches to the rocky peaks to the minerals nested deep. Lektoria's domain is to her Earth in its rawest forms, often concerned with the natural riches and rock formations born from the core's cooling magma, she is extremely sensible to the often easy to miss greater movements of the world, such as the movements of the crust, the rising mountains and their eventual decay, but extremely oblivious to the more delicate worries of the world, most notably, topics such as earth's fertility.

She has lordship over the nascent materials but like a mother whose children have long left the nest she does not have any sort of domain over the aspects and powers said materials provide, she can create magnesium and uranium, but magnetism and radiation are not of her domain.

Also notably, she only concerns herself with the planet-bound materials. Although the silicates and minerals of meteors, moon and exoplanets may be equal in chemical composition to Galbar's own, to her they are notably different on a 'spiritual' level, and therefore celestial rocks are not of her concern or domain.

Persona: "Chaotic Good" could perhaps be a word used to describe Lektor. Of the divine powers in the world, she stands among the most constructive and righteous. The other two words that strike true to the goddess, however, are "lazy" and "greedy".

The self-given title "Secretary of the Core" is quite literal, despite being the supreme goddess of the earth element, she herself speaks of the planet as another entity, often listening to the rumbles and vibrations of the mantle to discern what the "Core" is saying, starting conversations with it, with a babying tone that makes it unclear if said "Core" is her master or her little pet... equally unclear is if this has any effect or if she is just answering the random and meaningless rumbles of magma.

This eccentricity is one of the best examples of how unreliable Lektor may be to gods and mortals alike. It is known she likes to take her time doing things, and never rushes herself, a king praying for a boom needs to be ready for it to arrive a century late, should she ever find the time to do it. Yet, she acts like a bored teenager, often distracting herself with hobbies, hunts and carousing, not taking a long time because of perfectionism, but because she would rather do other things.

Two things reliably snap her out of procrastination, one is the will of the planet, two is her own greed, she is a compulsive collector of rarities and curiosities, and when one has something Lektor truly desires on her hoard, they will have the chance to make her rush to help them. Of course, one should be very careful when trying to force Lektor's hand, to be an enemy of the goddess of the earth and to awaken her primal fury is not a desirable status to anyone, let sleeping lions lie as they say.

Prince Eunomon had long travelled in search of the sphinx, a journey that took him both up to the jagged peak of the queen harpy as well as to the deep tunnels, home to goblins and dwarves alike, having conquered all of the challenges, he now faced the jeweled halls of the earth goddess, who calmly napped against the sunlight as he entered.

"Lady Lektoria Koreh Tellur" he declared. "I request an audience."

The goddess looked back at him with an unimpressed expression, only slightly raising her lioness ears to show that she was listening, a small wag of the wing and tail.

"My kingdom is usurped, a curse is cast upon us, I need to break it, and only the goddess of all minerals is able to provide me with a weapon with enough power to do such a deed and reunite my broken lands. Please. I have faced many challenges..."

The sphinx yawned, causing a small cave-in nearby. "Haven't We All? Quite... Rude, To Awake Me For Your Selfish Requests."

"But surely restoring my ancient kingdom would be of your interest? The usurpers worship dark creatures, but should I reunite it, we will honor you every year!"

"Your Name Again?"

"Eunomon, of house Elorian, of the great kingdom of Luma."

The sphinxs tilted her head. "Whomst? All Those Words Mean Nothing To Me." the earth shook and a small wind filled the room, the goddess paid close attention to it, pressing her ear against the rocky ground. "Ah! The Core Reminded me. In The Realm of The Lunt. Yes?"

"The... the ancient kingdom of Lunt? Yes... I heard stories of those people living in my home, millennia ago."

"Yes. Good People. Loved Their Pottery. Hmmm... Sure. I May Make You A Weapon. Just Give Me A Century or Two. I Need My Beauty Sleep."

The prince's newfound smile at her acceptance quickly turned into a frown, two centuries for a weapon? By then the memory of his realm would surely be as lost as Lunt. "Goddess. I need the weapon now. The battle is upcoming, it cannot be delayed."

The goddess growled in annoyance. "Foolish Little Thing, Making So Many Demands. Perhaps I Should Swallow Your Lands With Great Chasms. Then Your Enemy Would Be Gone." she announced as she approached, each step of her golden armour making the world shake, the prince falling on the ground. Then she stopped. Sniffing the air.

"A Harpy's Egg?" The goddess noticed, sniffing more. "Oh, Dwarven Mushrooms Too! And Herbs From the Fey Goblin." gulping, the goddess made no effort to hide the rumble of her stomach. "Are You Perhaps a Cook?"

He was actually collecting such ingredients to sell and further fund his army, but for a chance like this he would be anything the goddess asked. "W...Well, my mother did teach me a thing or two."

"Excellent! You Desired a Weapon and an Army of Stone Soldiers, Correct? It Will Be Yours. In Exchange for a Harpy Omelet of Great Quality."

The prince made no effort into correcting her about the added soldiers' demand, "Sure. I will make the best of omelettes then!" the winds and rumbling earth however did complain to the goddess, perhaps asking if it was wise to boom a mortal with such immense power for a mere dish.

"Oh Do Not Be So Stubborn, Silly Rock." The Goddess whispered at the earth. "Being Nitpicky Like This is Why you Have So Few Friends." she then clapped her hands and looked again at the mortal prince. "Now You Go. Rush Rush. No Reason To Just Stay Around Idling About, Yes?"

The Divine Enforcer

<sub>A great ironclad star descended from the heavens, the sky heralding its arrival with fire; Justice had manifested before the hearths and kilns burned, before the foundations of the world had been laid and before the chaos of life had erupted upon Galbar.

The star, the god, the machine, the force of nature landed not with some catastrophic impact but gingerly, with only a soft thud and a limber grace that seemed to defy its intimidating bulk. He cast off the cloak of flame that the sky had bequeathed upon him, for he cared not for the fine or the bright or ostentatious. One, two, three heavy footsteps carried him forward across the barren rocky plain, and then with the lifeless wastes as his witness, the god made a solemn vow:</sub>

"I will be True, and hold all else to the same precept."

<sub>Tiny flakes of dirt and regolith drifted through the air, cast up by his landing. The motes of dust were silent, and they seemed to meet his words with equal resolve. He looked around, restless.

To be true to himself, he could never rest, would never tire, until all things were exactly as they should be, guided by the tenets and laws of those whose will shaped the world; but not by his, certainly. He did not presume to determine what was lawful or orderly, though he knew that he would be able to innately sense anything that rebelled against its lot. By that feeling if nothing else, he would find the faults in the universe and right them.

He felt it right then, even in that earliest of days. The towering metal giant spun around suddenly and fell onto his knees, brushing the ground with his hands to fill in the tiny depression left by his landing and ever so carefully restore it to exactly what it had been a few moments before. His passion compelled him!</sub>

Names are unimportant. This god never bothered to take one, so style him Justice, or perhaps the Divine Enforcer.

And pray that you do not cross him; his body and will alike are daunting. He seems to tower over all that he comes across, larger than everything except the smallest of laws and rules. None have ever looked upon his visage (if even he has one), for in the emptiness of the void he wrought his force of will into a near-impervious suit of unadorned plate armor that covers him utterly. He is large but generally humanoid in shape, and his armor is a bleak gray that neithers shines nor get sullied by dirt and rust – it simply is how it is. Even by divine standards his strength and endurance are prodigious – he seemingly never tires, slows, hesitates, or stops, and his personality is just as relentless, forthright, and stubborn as his body.

From the first moment that he landed upon Galbar he has sworn to uphold his aspect. He respects all oaths, laws, and rules and expects the same of others. False or broken oaths, treachery, and hypocrisy (only in the sense of thinking one’s self above the rules that one has declared for others) are the most blatant of injustices and wrongs to him, and they incense him greatly. If it were possible he would personally stop any and all such instances and uphold every legitimate rule and regulation set forth by mortals and immortals alike, but alas, he is neither omniscient nor omnipotent and must submit to the realities of utilitarianism and of his limited reach. In his relentless pursuit to uphold order and authority, he is not concerned at all with the actual morality or fairness of the laws that exist – Justice does not judge or make the rules, for justice is simply the enforcement of those that exist.

Fortunately, his aspect endows him with the ability to delegate this sacred charge of his unto others. He can easily instill a fraction of his own fervor, ethos, and indefatigable will into others, and this greatly helps him in the organization of sacred orders and the elevation of heroes to uphold the law and spread his ideals of justice throughout the world. His aspect also makes him especially perceptive in his ability to discern lies from truth, and he can sometimes sense when any force or object is rebelling against the law or its lot.

An OOC note to the GMs – I’m not trying to get a free artifact out of his suit of armor and will pay 5 MP for it in my first post, I just don’t want to think up and then describe whatever form he takes for the one or two paragraphs before that happens.

Ravdur, Lord of Ice

Ravdur

Aspect: Ice - Ice, the frozen element that to some, can be seen as weak. Especially to heat and fire. Melting away to harmless water. But, ice is more than its weakness. From the smallest chunk of ice to the towering glaciers. It can be strong, enduring, and sometimes hiding something beneath the surface. For even icebergs do not show their true size to the wandering eye. Do not fear the man with the hot firey anger but the one with the ice cold calculating anger. As those are the ones that will use their anger to its greatest effect.

Persona: On the outside, Ravdur can be seen as cold, distant, and unforgiving. Which he can easily, especially to those he dislikes But, this is the impression he gives off. Ravdur, while stoic and most of the time does not show emotion. He does have a kinder side to him. Compassionate and willing to help guide others that need it. Ravdur has a code of honor that he follows, and rarely does he break it. Despite his appearance, Ravdur is not easily influenced into fighting or has a bloodlust. While he does consider himself a warrior, Ravdur instead choices to pick his battles and use a weapon when he needs to. While following his code and tends to look down on those that violate said code.

Which said code of honor deals with the no killing or harming of civilians or innocents. Do not lie, be honest, do not forsake friends or allies in need, keep your word or lose it and remember to never enslave others.

Ravdur has plans on what to do in the world. Ranging from taking ice guardians to protecting future projects, creating mystical black ice, which will be used for several ideas he has, and the creation of a special ice comet that would involve his future followers.

Base Form:

Po is a tall figure wreathed in a concealing cloak of flames that burns from a low red to a white hot depending on her mood. Two wings of flame sprout from her back and under her hood, blazing eyes stare out. As stated, the intensity of her fiery form directly reflects her mood and level of passion.

Aspect:
Po is the god of fire. Fire is a primal heat and a hot lick of energy, that of which Po has full control over. If it’s hot, its Po, if it’s on fire, it’s her as well. With this aspect, Po can control existing fire directly, or summon her own. She can heat things up (but can’t cool them down) and she can cause combustion and other expressions of heat.

Persona:
Po can be described as hot headed and passionate. She is quick to anger and quick to make friends and quick to make enemies. She doesn’t think before she acts and most certainly cares intensely about whatever it is that she cares about at that time. This stubbornness is forever present in how she behaves and furthermore what she actually values can change as quickly as her temperament, making her chaotic at best.

Despite this fickle behavior can be rooted in a few constants. Po will defend what she loves fiercely (any and all of her creations included), and has a joy for spreading fire and heat. On the flipside, she will almost always be upset at cold things or the extinguishing of fire and may do her best to heat things up.

Ashevelen

Name: Ashevelen “Ashe”

Base Form:

In the eyes of mortals, Ashevelen's form is what the viewer finds the most non-threatening and friendly.

Aspect: Trade

Ashevelen is the Goddess of Trade. Wherever it is a trade between mortals or a trade between Gods, Ashevelen can see the trade and weight in her opinion if permitted by the latter. Trade means any exchange of goods, services etc between any number of parties.

The commandments of trade, as enforced by Ashevelen or her servants are as follow:

All parties must agree not to back down from their part of the deal.
All parties must understand that a trade is final.
All parties must agree that if one outsmarts the other, the outsmarted party may propose a new trade on the spot and the negotiations begin anew.
If one of Ashe’s servants is involved in a trade, their decision is final.
Violence is not permitted.

Ashe can bestow her favour to anyone who worships her, so that their trades are successful. Her holy order of servants travel the lands working as advocates for anyone who calls upon them. A peasant might engage in trade (information, land rights etc) with a noble and ask for assistance from one of her servants which would increase the chances that the peasant won't be tricked.

If a mortal doesn’t necessarily require anything that is on offer, a pact can be offered instead. Power, information, servants, artefacts etc can be given in exchange for the person’s servitude for a number of years which is determined based on what they require. All pacts are binding the soul of the person to Ashevelen until their contract ends.

Persona: Ashevelen is a benevolent goddess, eager to help those she meets in her travels. She occasionally makes deals with mortals for meagre things, for a God, in exchange for the thrill of a successful trade. Her greatest ambition is to find a mortal that can outsmart her in a trade. While generally benevolent, there are times where Ashevelen’s wrath can be felt in full. For example if any of her rules are broken, herself or her servants will force the rule-breaker to sign a pact with Ashevelen and if they refuse, they are permitted to take their own lives or be killed by the servants. They are to travel all over Galbar and sell all of their material belongings to other rule-breakers, unless they find a way to outsmart whoever enforces the pact. If treated with violence, all of Ashevelen’s servants can act as bodyguards for their charges and dispose of the rule-breaker.

Sathira, Mother of the First Flight

Base Forms

Divine Form

Sathira’s most majestic form takes the shape of a gargantuan dragon, the size of a large mountain. It is wreathed in shadows and possesses multiple eyes. Immense leathery wings shimmer the color of midnight, and crackle with the bright white tinge of lightning. Sathira stands tall on four massive claws at the end of each leg, each seemingly sharp enough to rend the earth itself asunder. A long obsidian tail sprouts from her back which she often drags behind her, leaving great swathes of land disturbed. While some may agree this is an incredible nuisance to mundane races, she doesn’t leave only destruction in her wake. Behind her tail one may often find rare minerals sprouting, from gold to silver to precious gemstones. Some have taken to trying to find the places she has landed and graced with this small gift, though all are very careful to do so after her movements are complete, lest they be in her way and squashed by her unknowingly.

Sathira’s shadows similarly become both a blessing and a curse to those near them. Inhalation of these shadows tends to lure mortal races into a deep, restful slumber. Often waking up only after a full day has passed. While this can be a detriment, those who experience it will wake up completely refreshed, and what is more, often feel boundless motivation to accomplish tasks they would otherwise shirk for upwards of a week after.

Humanoid Form

Sathira can also take a much smaller form that is humanoid in shape to better interact with things smaller than her, which is most often just about everything. Although she considers this form small, she still stands at a height of 12 feet tall. This form has ornate white horns that sprout from her head with ornate patterns that almost seem engraved winding around them. Each of her eyes are resplendent with black schlera and a crimson iris. In this form she has a kind of third eye which exists upon her forehead, which sits at a vertical slit rather than horizontal as is the case with most humanoids. Further each of these eyes retains her majestic forms nictitating membranes.

Retaining a pair of leathery onyx wings in this form, she often uses them to assist her movement across the world. Though she rarely seems to have to actually flap them much, appearing to more glide along unseen currents of air, magic or both so as to reach her destination.

The massive creatures capable of flight despite their immense size. Sathira sees each and every dragon as one of her kind, a lesser extension of her very sense of self. Valuable allies and the creatures of incredible power that they are, they are still something that she cares for. While she will defend them to a point, she still sees them as their own beings and they must be allowed to make choices and mistakes of their own accord, or else they will never grow to create their own flights. While she is truly timeless, so too shall her children be. Age granting them only greater size and power compared to what was. They have a disposition that pushes them towards gathering great treasures. While she did not intend for this, it is likely a side effect of them gnawing at her tail when they were in their infancy, perhaps even caused by them munching on the leftover gemstones and minerals that her tail left behind.

Just as she is proud and powerful so too has she imbued the very concept of her and her childrens being with this pride. It feeds them and urges them to prove themselves more and more, sometimes becoming a problem to nearby nations, but also at times granting them a hero. One of her kind that walks among their number seeking to earn praise in a different manner.

As of now their goal is simple, she will protect them, foster their power and teach them what she feels is right, and then send them off into the world. Encouraging them to learn and foster their own flights such that they can spread across the world and become a known and powerful race. For now they will become a force for gathering her the natural wonders and treasures of the world. Later on, who knows.

Persona

Sathira keeps an even temperament most of the time. Very careful with her words, and careful with her actions. Protecting her children and teaching them to become greater and more powerful. She is not one that often shares her knowledge with anyone outside of her flight, at least not readily and for free. There must be some kind of exchange, and it must almost always at least slightly favor her.

She can however be snapped into a quick fury akin to a mother grizzly if her children are put into peril, at least while they are young. Once they have reached adulthood they are their own problem, and while they can pray to her and seek her advice, they are still beholden to their own desires and choices.

When it comes to what kind of choices she makes it is much more oft guided by self-interest, or the interest of her flight that determines what action she takes. She does not seek others direct harm unless angered or wronged, but she is also very much not afraid to make deals that might cause others problems if she can’t see a direct negative result coming of it.

And so it was said that it all started from that one shining rock. That fell off Sathira’s great tail and cascaded to the earth. Embedding itself between the waters of a river and the fertile soil of the new world. Placed so perfectly between these two fonts of life, Sathira looked upon the gemstone. A radiant, fiery red ruby graced her vision, and this ruby, so perfectly ovoid in its shape, caused Sathira to think. The draconic aspect sat patiently for many years, observing its growth, yet noting that it did not grow as any crystal usually did. No jagged edges sprouted from it, it simply remained as it was. Ovoid, looking almost scaled in places.

Such beauty could not go to waste, she thought. There must be others to see this. And yet, would any truly appreciate it? Not likely, only her. Unless perhaps… There were others like her… Others to find things such as this most peculiar and perfect gemstone. It was then inspiration struck, a beautiful gemstone such as this was the perfect start. From her own breast she poured a fragment of her eternal lifespan into this crystal, such that life much like herself would start to grow and from within a small flame sparked to life, and a tiny heartbeat.

And so it was that it all started from that one shining rock…

There are two kinds of things in the world: those that fill with wonder and those that are filled with wonder. Wehi Tama is that wonder. The sea is not by its nature wondrous; Wehi Tama is the wonder of the sea. The sky is not by its nature wondrous; Wehi Tama is the wonder of the sky. The mountains are not by their nature wondrous, nor are the rivers nor the lakes nor the birds of murmuring colours nor even the eyes of mortalkind and their limbs and their great hulking forms or lithe agile ones; Wehi Tama is the wonder in all things. He is the wonder of the world.

Wehi Tama gives all things the quality of being wondrous and enables whatever he pleases to feel wonder. Being wondrous is a quality while being filled with wonder is a feeling, an emotion. Wehi Tama's aspect, therefore, grants him authority over elements of cognition and perception even as it grants him power over physical reality. He weaves wondrousness into the tapestry of the world, causes mortalkind to feel wonder, and can well bring forth their feelings of wonder - the flights of their souls and imaginations - into the physical realm. Those taken up by wonder may not know what is the product of their wonderstruck minds and what is reality! Are the mountains of vapour on which I tread a mere dream or do I truly jump between the stars? Does yon bright moon smile down on me and hither thither dance or have I eaten of the purple-shroom? Is that a child on yon distant cloud- a child of marvel, a child of miracle! And is that a sword he brings, a sword of flame- he strikes! he strikes with the sword of wonder!

Wehi Tama is a wonder to behold. He takes on the mortal shape of man - or rather, when man was first created in the first of all worlds, he was made in Wehi Tama's image. Wehi Tama is the wonder of the divine shape; the divine shape is the wonder of the mortal form. But Wehi Tama is not only a wonder to behold, his speech is wondrous, his strikes are wondrous, wonder is the movement of his eyes, wonder is the parting of his lips. He strikes with the sword of wonder.

Myth

It was fifty winters ago. The moon was a grinning blade in the heavens, the night was darkness all. I had not seen eight summers. The trees were calm, I remember it well. There was no breeze. But it was winter, and the windless night was cold. And yet, for all that darkness, the moon was a blade in the skies. Oh it was bright. And as I walked from tree to tree, their leafless branches like wizened hands reaching for heaven, the darkness only thinned. When I came to a clearing it was the day in the midst of night, and in the heart of that pulsing clearing was a wolf as white as snow. Its eyes were of emerald and claws obsidian. It struck only once- what sweet child of eight summers could resist such a being?

And yet, and you can laugh all you like, I did. You think these scars are the marks of blades? You think a sword touched me at the walls of Bilar? A pox on your thoughts - no mortal hand, nor yet a mortal blade nor mortal arrow nor mortal spear has struck me once in these fifty summers. Only the wolf struck me. Look here, see my face, look here where it bit, here where it drew flesh from the bone. And look here too - see, this? You will not find a blade like it in all the world. I drew it from the jaws of the wolf as we wrestled in the night of light. It growled and I croaked, it struck and I staggered - but watch me swing, oh sword! Do you think my finest day was at the fields of Quattan? Aye I struck down fifty men that day, I swam in blood, I drank of skulls - but no. My greatest glory was my first, for it was no wolf that I fought but god! Oh, you laugh, but I tell you: he struck with the sword of wonder.

Aspect of Conquest

A vision of power and control that unifies all of reality under a single will and vision. Aveira approaches existence with a singular purpose - to bring the living to heel. It is the right and duty of those with ambition and power to seek out that vision. Conquest relates to the dominance of others and acquisition of what belongs to someone else. This may be accomplished peaceably or through violence - but is never anything but one-sided. The loser may find peace in subjugation, but it is not required.

Aveira desires total subjugation. The weak must serve the strong. Those that lack the heart or skill to defend themselves do not deserve what they have nor to decide for themselves. The conquest of territory, people and resources shall fuel the warmachine to conquer the next in line. Those that falter or fizzle out in their campaigns are easy targets for a real conqueror. The cycle can only end with unity through power.

Armies sieging cities. Raiders of the countryside. The rise of popular rulers intent on shows of force. These are the typical mortals fitting for Aveira's boons. Naturally, Aveira considers herself the ultimate authority.

With Conquest, Aveira bolsters community and patriotism to it's extremes, inspiring empire-building and expansion. She imparts the drive, knowledge and equipment required to fulfill a vision of unity through violence. She inspires fear and devotion in equal measure, and can inspire both subservience and power-hungry ambition. A simple command can enforce such stress on mortal minds that they submit - or die.

Persona

Aveira typically acts with the stern professionalism expected of an experienced general. Her cold and straightforward demeanor can be both brutally condescending and humorless - she appears to be mainly focused on her distant goals. Aveira can be relatively personable and even helpful, particularly when to those she considers stronger or more authoritative than her.

She is more than willing to cooperate and lend her strength, though there is typically an ulterior motive with her actions. Likewise, she has no issue making an enemy out of someone she previously considered an ally. Like a lurking predator, she simply bides her time to strike.

Despite that veneer of professional stoicism, there is a temper to the flying warrior goddess. An unquenchable rage that bubbles and seethes beneath the surface, revealing itself in utter contempt for mortals and deities alike. It is possible she feels nothing but abject hatred för existence itself, if the moments where she breaks the masquerade are anything to go by. This single-minded disgust and distaste fuels her drive to forcibly take all others under her wings.

Myth

In a war torn place, a sun battered land, a lone man rustled through old ruins in his lonesome. Nothing but sun, sand and old skeletons to keep him company as he searched dead lands and uncovered their history. Now this man, Rakat, a broken-toothed pauper with a mere bundle of bread and tools to his name, found himself in an old dining hall, stood before a forgotten tapestry in a house ravaged by time and war.

Rakat blew gently on the old cloth, scattering sand and dust in equal measure. When that wasn't enough, he lifted his sleeve to wipe away the thick layer of warm dust that remained. It revealed a small piece of the grand tapestry hung along the wall in this old ruin. A winged woman was depicted, with rays of both light and dark sewn in around her. Rakat cleaned more of the tapestry, and unveiled a scene in which the people bowed and prostrated themselves to the shining woman.

Another swipe of his sleeve uncovered an exchange - the winged woman on one side, the people on the other, and a peculiar silver bangle between them. This made him pause and glance back over the abandoned room. The sweeping sands made exploration hard, but among the skeletons scattered among small dunes and furniture he caught a glimmer of sunlight.

On a skeleton with a blade impaling it to the broken chair it was in, Rakat saw a silver bangle with an uncanny resemblance to the tapestry. He had missed it when doing his first sweep, though he did not know how; it was hard to take his eyes off of it. Rakat pried and pulled, and with enough strain he broke the bone free from the rest of the skeleton, letting him free this unassuming treasure. With particular fascination, he slid it over his own hand to try it out. It fit his arm perfectly. Like it was made for him.

Rakat drew a long breath as the sun beat down on his face from outside the ruined building. This middling looting seemed so trivial to him now. A waste of his time. He was destined for greatness. All he needed was to take it. Admiring the bangle on his wrist, Rakat grabbed the sword impaling the skeleton and pulled it free. He'd never used a blade before, but it felt natural and easy. Like it was meant to be. Rakat grinned his broken teeth with newfound confidence, and exited the ruin with fresh purpose. His old life was already covered by the veil of sand and heat, just like the last half of the tapestry.
