Sakura's mind suddenly was on the alert and she quickly looked up at Cade. His dance partner was a demon? She quickly glanced around before looking back at him. Did Aklenroth send a demon over to look at Sakura's progress in her mission? Maybe this demon was one of the many who hated her and wanted to meddle with her plans to make her seem like a failure in the Lich King's eyes? It looked like she couldn't afford to relax now, especially when her kind made their presence known to some of the attendees of the Ball. She was furious that her own father wouldn't even tell her what's happening so she could be ready and act appropriately too.

There's nothing she could do about it now. The best course of action was to just chill and keep her company happy and safe as the night went on. She listened as the big man put his arms around her and Ayita and said something in private. "Oh that's interesting. That would prove to be extremely helpful when the time comes. It's definitely an opportunity for us to meet more allies for our cause. I wonder if we can meet some more cute guys there?" Sakura replied with a smile. Her mind automatically went to inform her father about this new piece of information she found but part of her was still resentful about him and wanted to keep this a secret from him instead. No matter, she decided to cross that bridge when she got there.

"Oh Ayita darling, I'm so sorry your experience was uneventful. Indeed, food will make us feel better. Come." Sakura sympathized as she enclosed Ayita's hand between both of Sakura's to comfort the human as the trio made their way to the table. Like Cade, the demoness also noticed that something was wrong with Ayita. She probably got unfortunate with her dance partner and now she looked like she was less happy than she was before they entered the Ball. Sakura partly blamed herself for not keeping a good eye over her objective/friend but she was also kind of relieved that nothing worse has happened to her. Sakura playfully pushed against Cade's abdomen and gave him a chuckle. "Cadence, you best be on your good manners here. Besides, accidentally pouring something on their clothes is so old-fashioned. Perhaps I could conjure a spell that would make him fart noisily every time he put his feet on the ground?" Sakura suggested with a sly grin, hoping to make Ayita feel better as well.

They seem a bit high for us just starting out. I too thought to make my character the young prodigy type but I believe your stats reflect those of a seasoned Pillar. But I think the GMs would do you better to weigh in on them.

Neith just sighed. It looked like the only real clue that they got regarding the forest was the drawing that kid gave them a while ago. The only things they could learn about that damn forest was that it's haunted, probably cursed by some magical lunatics some time ago, and whoever entered it may or may not be able to live another day. 'This just kept getting better and better', Neith sarcastically thought to herself.

She looked at Micah being so fascinated with the man, especially with his tattoo. It must be something of significance to Micah or he was just excited in seeing a symbol that could potentially align with magics of any kind or the occult. She watched him as Micah put his hand on Tolan's shoulder and muttered something indecipherable, perhaps casting a spell to get some kind of information from this man.

"My lovely companion here is right, handsome. There's nothing you can say that can stop us from going to that forest. Who knows, maybe our group could finally discover the secret behind that mysterious forests and all the rumors will finally be put to rest. At least we're helping in our own way too." Neith stood up from her seat, sauntering over Tolan before sitting on his lap. "I just couldn't help but notice you're so tense, handsome. Maybe we can work something out, I'll help you feel the most relaxed you've ever been in your life and you can share any information you know about that forest." She then leaned in to whisper in his ear. "If we managed to find some money in there, I'll make sure you'll get a generous cut."

Neith then sat upright on Tolan's lap and smiled. "So what do you say, handsome?". The elf was willing to do anything just to help them with this seemingly impossible task. She wasn't showing it but she was beginning to lose faith on the inside because everything just seemed to be against them. Neith just had to make herself strong for whatever their group was going to face in that god-forsaken forest.

Katsumi is a young woman who has a fit, slender build with long black hair that almost reaches the back of her knees. She has deep red eyes which often makes people mistake her for a demon, other than her seemingly unfriendly personality. She's dressed in traditional Japanese clothes because it gives her more freedom to move around and makes her feel more connected to her roots as a Demon Slayer. Her preferred weapon is a longsword named Yotohime that's taller than her, with its long, white handle and pink-&-white colored blade. She wears black gloves that allows her to touch her own blade without getting cut so she could use it more effectively in battle.

Katsumi can be considered as someone who is not that much of an open book. She always has an aura surrounding her that gets easily mistaken as arrogance, telling anyone who gets too close to her to back off while her stares are enough to scare grown men too. She is a very patient person but it will run out sooner than later if she's being interacted by any person she finds extremely annoying and impossible to talk to. She is really not keen on interacting with people as they're always too afraid that she'll snap on them, though Katsumi is a team-player and will follow the orders of her captain if she finds them reasonable and respectful enough. In the field, she's a serious and hard-working individual who makes sure that she never rests until she completes the mission to a tee. She may also be one of the people who have an incredible amount of disdain towards all kinds of Demons and she dreams of the day that their kind will be completely wiped off the face of the planet.

Katsumi's mother died at the hands of a demon. Her family was filled with grief that unfateful day and her father, who was a Demon Slayer, felt like a huge failure as he couldn't protect his wife. He has sworn to avenge the death of his beloved one day. Ever since then, he made sure to train her three daughters physically, mentally, and spiritually so that they could effectively defend themselves against future Demon attacks. Katsumi, like her older sister and younger sister, was also filled with sadness and hatred towards the race that took their beloved mother from them. Unlike her sisters, it was Katsumi who was more determined to become a Slayer someday just like her father so that she too could find and kill her mother's murderer.

The sisters sought out to become helpers of the Demon Slayer Corps organization with the eldest becoming a member of the Kakushi that tended to the wounded and the youngest becoming an aspiring Demon Slayer too. The father is still a member of the organization who helped out in determining the location of every Upper Moon Demons in the world. Despite that, he never forgot to train his middle child Katsumi who he saw great potential within.

During her years growing up, she did nothing but train. No matter the obstacle that got in her way, no matter the rain falling heavily down on her, no matter the hot rays of the sun shining down on her, she persevered through them all. Some people were even afraid of her as she looked like her spirit had died and she was completely emotionless but that wasn't true. For Katsumi, she had never felt more alive in those times where she trained to the limit of her body because for her, she was getting one step closer to becoming strong enough to kill that wretched Demon.

However, her sisters were very concerned about her well-being. They were just as angry as she was but they worried that she was going to kill herself by overextending her limitations. Her father saw the burning spirit within Katsumi and helped her every step of the way but sometimes, he had these lingering doubts that maybe he was pouring all his resentment and feelings of failure toward her daughter. He actually wanted to stop Katsumi from going down the path of hatred but he realized it was too late for that. The best he could do was to just be there with his daughter through it all.

On the bright side, it was through Katsumi's hard work and perseverance that she had created a new type of Breathing Form derived from Love which she decided to call Hate. She honed this technique of hers and used it to slay tons of Demons with the combination of her physique and chosen weapon. The thought of becoming a Hashira never even entered her mind until she learned that one of the high-ranking Demon Slayers was eyeing her as a suitable successor. Katsumi saw this as a chance to become even stronger and become one step closer to achieving her goal. Besides, being a Hashira doesn't sound so bad as well.

Breath of Hate is focused on expertly weilding one's weapon in a seemingly elegant way to perform devastating attacks on the foe. It also has similarities with Breath of Love with the user moving about in a dance-like manner to lower the opponent's defense before delivering the finishing blow. This particular Breath also specializes in wide area of effect damage which makes it useful in clearing out multiple waves of enemies. It is utilized better in a very open environment as the user could move her body and her weapon more freely that in an enclosed space. The backside of Katsumi's blade is more blunt than its front so she could utilize the Breathing Form much more efficiently. Additionally, attacks using Breath of Hate are much more powerful the more Katsumi hates her opponent.

• FIRST FORM [PIERCING RAGE]: A forceful forward thrust of the sword that instantly pierces through multiple enemies at once before slashing sideways. When used at a singular enemy, First Form: Piercing Ragehas a very high chance of penetrating even through their toughest defense.
• SECOND FORM [DANCE OF WRATHFUL SORROW]: The user spins around once or more, using the range of their longsword for a wide area of effect damage to slice through multiple enemies at once.
• THIRD FORM [ABHOROUS RETRIBUTION - MOTHER'S WILL]: Lifts the longsword overhead before delivering a single, fatal blow to the enemy with the help of gravity that will cut them vertically in half. User could even jump high before performing Third Form to make the blow even more fatal. The higher the height that Third Form has been made, the more powerful its strike will be.

"Of course, of course. It was also a pleasure dancing and talking with you, Torvi. Best of luck to you and your friend's adventures." Sakura replied kindly to the elf, curtsying back at her as the demoness watched her leave to find her friends. 'I'm sure we'll see each other eventually, one way or the other.' She thought to herself but she only kept it to herself to not sound too ominous to the already anxious woman, although part of her wanted to tell it to her just for fun. She truly enjoyed her time with the elf and she understood Torvi prioritized finding her friends.

Multiple people broke into smiles and casual talking as the music died down but there were still those who enjoyed dancing with their partners. Sakura courteously greeted and waved back at those who greeted her even though she was sure they both don't know each other. She didn't know what else to do after that. She was so convinced something was going to happen at the Ball eventually but so far, it had been a pretty peaceful night other than that stuck-up of an elf from earlier. She was a bit bored out of her mind and actually wished to herself that something did happen just to make things more interesting and exciting though she knew it will bite her in the arse hard later on.

Just as she was close to returning to their original table, Sakura heard Cade calling out to her and felt his big strong arm around her shoulders. She beheaded the last demon that did this to her but she decided to give Cade a pass. "Good for you, Cadence. I'm sure you feel very proud of yourself. At least you seemed to enjoy yourself so far and that's what matters the most." Sakura reassuringly said while patting his broad chest. Weirdly enough, she felt a bit of pride for her friend for surviving the night in a crowd full of rich, haughty nobles although she could tell the princess Cade was talking about was very humble and kind.

"Ayita? Hm, I don't know exactly. Perhaps we should lo- Oh, there she is." Sakura spotted Ayita walking among the crowd and looked like she was looking for her friends too. "Ayita! Over here, darling." The demoness waved and called out to the human. "Oh yeah, I barely finished my dinner before the whole dancing thing started and I am now very much hungry. I could really go for some steak right now..." Sakura jokingly said to Cade with a dreamy sigh as they waited for their friend to join them, the demoness now oblivious to the impending danger that was going to come to them.

Love was one of the most powerful forces in the universe for it could make the weak strong and the proud fall to their knees. It came in all shapes and forms for Love does not and never will discriminate, but it mostly came in the form of the lovely maiden known as Aphrodite, the Love Goddess, Lady of the Doves. All men will be immediately smitten with her upon first landing their eyes on her heavenly visage and all women were either inspired or envious of her otherwordly beauty. The Goddess of Love has been a huge influence on the world of humans and even gods ever since she rose from the sea foam created by the castrated genitals of Ouranos. Aphrodite may be the embodiment of beauty but they will soon realize that even Love has its ugly sides too.

𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬

It wasn't much of a huge change for Aphrodite to be stuck in the world of mortals because she would always spend most of her time here. She did miss the times where she could go and see multiple men she fancied in many places at once and she also missed her ability to change her form to whatever she wished. Despite being an avid visitor of Earth, Aphrodite couldn't deny that the mortal world she loved had its ugly and often times foul-smellings sides that she didn't like at all. Still, the change wasn't that much of a big deal for her.

She was delighted to know that those who were deemed as beautiful, handsome, or just hot in general were treated nicer and with more respect than those who didn't qualify a.k.a. those that were ugly. Aphrodite, being the Goddess of Beauty that she was, decided to use this idealism of humanity to her advantage. Despite being stuck in a single human form, she was still undeniably prettier than most of her mortal peers. As time passed by, Aphrodite was able to live a very posh and comfortable life on Earth thanks to her natural godly beauty.

Still, Aphrodite missed being in the comfort of the heavens. She wanted to remember what it's like to not have the need to use the bathroom or the need to always re-apply her make-up whenever it rained. She missed flirting with the other gods and using humans as her personal love puppets. However, Aphrodite did learn to appreciate the value of human life too. She had seen so much hate in the world, discrimination towards those who looked different than the norm and prejudice towards people loving people of the same gender.

For the first time in eons, the Maiden of Doves felt outright furious. The humans have twisted and molded love to suit their own image so much that it began to hurt people who didn't fit their image of love. That was why she couldn't wait to ascend to godhood again. Maybe with her guidance, humanity might re-learn the true essence of love. Maybe with her guidance, humanity will finally discover the true beauty within.

Neith listened intently to what Micah said. Despite the limited time they had in talking with each other, the elf could tell he was genuine in his words and acts, and everything he says should be taken seriously. She wasn't liking anything he was saying either, especially the part about 'the great eye watching over like the moon.' Was it something symbolic or did he meant the literal moon? Neith was quiet while she pondered everything that she heard. What in the hell did they put themselves into?

Dion then explained why he asked them to accompany him in the forest. "Hmm, I do like the part about me receiving some pay. It's just weird though. Why don't they investigate the forest themselves instead of hiring someone to do it for them? Are they scared?" Neith replied to Dion at which the barmaid came and ask if they liked more drinks. The others asked for some but she wasn't that much of a drinker so she just gave a dismissing wave to the barmaid.

The barmaid then gave her two cents about the forest which confirmed Neith's suspicion that the people of Helsend do not like that forest at all. It was also supported by the townspeople quickly returning to the safety of their homes when night came. It's as if they're scared of what the darkness will bring forth from the cursed forest. The barmaid then left and down came a man called Tolan who was definitely Neith's type. Micah quickly approached the blond man and began asking him questions about stuff while Guritag made her comments.

"He seemed to be a genuine person to me. No use passing judgment on people you barely know. Besides, if he did turn into a blood-drinking maniac, I'm sure you won't hesitate to bash his brains out the first chance you'll get so it doesn't matter." Neith told Guritag and then turned to Dion. "The bard's right, y'know. Are you sure the Arcanium isn't sending you off into a suicide mission?"
