Hi, I’m Salsa Verde, arguably the best salsa and formally known as the writer, Syn. I’m a Wildlife Biologist traveling the country looking to work with the coolest: herps, mammals, birds, and invertebrates I can get my hands on. I also like plants, trees, and fungi specifically. I’ve been writing for about 13 years now and recently decided to get back into it. I enjoy anything from casual to high roleplay, 1x1, and arena. My main genres tend to be anime, SOL, and superhero but I’m really down to participate in anything. And yeah I like all that weeb shit.

The sweet embrace of slumber enveloped its arms around the young wind seeker as his body fell nimbly through the sky as if he were a meteor upon entry of the planet’s atmosphere. That was of course until Kiku had sensed the young boys fall from grace. Her quick wit and chains helped secure the boy and whisk him to safety in the arms of the wooden boy. However, as much as she saved him the girl also risked her own safety by ignoring the lava plumes that jumped up and snapped at her legs like a rabid dog, on her way down back to the earth. Shizuka was unaware of what was happening since he had exhausted the remains of his chakra and now was rather unconscious.

His mind faded after he fell from the golem, it drifted like a cool breeze, which was suddenly captivated by the smell of lavender. And at first his mind snapped into frame with the image of the blind girl when they first met, when he approached her quite wildly and she almost fell down before holding onto him, that was a good one. But, it brought him back to his home life in Sunagakure as a young lad running through the flower fields of lavender his mother had planted. Life was much easier back then, he had both of his parents and no responsibilities yet, nor did he learn to control wind and the way of the sword. He wondered what it would be like if he had just gone back there and stayed with them, if he had lived his life out there.

His vision of the past quickly slipped away as he found himself spiraling down in what seemed like a black vortex of nothingness. That was self defeat rearing its ugly head, an emotion that Shizuka never really understood or experienced, yet this new experience of grandeur had cultivated a plethora of emotions he hadn’t felt in 17 years of life. Images of his teammates flickered like a light, images of Kurin the stick boy, jaakuna the thunder god, and again the soft serenity that the lavender haired girl brought him. ”No I have to wake up, I have to protect my friends!” Friends? A concept and word so foreign yet the boy was so succinct in his manner. His clenched fist, his eyes fighting open, the light peering into his line of sight once more. A gasp of air bellowed through the chamber as he shot up from his sleep his chakra and his abilities returning to him at once along with a new power yet undiscovered, but how?

Shizuka turned around to survey the room, he was no longer atop the golem. Matter of factly it seemed like the upheaval left the golem destroyed and scattered on the floor, they did it they really did it! At what cost was the price of victory though? His wide eyed grin and exasperated arm jabs quickly fell limp when the searing sensation afflicted his body. Lifting his fish net his gaze was met with a few amount of burns that ranged from blisters to some burnt skin, second degree burns most likely that would heal in a few weeks. Shizuka was the lucky one it seemed; almost like a scene from a war movie his cascading vision was met with the pain of his allies. Shrapnel was lodged into the thunder god’s body with burns that engulfed his arms, much more severe than the insignificant burns Shizuka was branded with. Kurin with extensive burns, some even life threating. The pain and horror was as if a frog had jumped and lodged itself into the throat of the young boy, speechless.

That was until he made his way over to Kiku, his eyes began to water, a light trickle began to precipitate around the lids of his eyes. Her beautiful slender legs had been claimed by globs of lava that festered and ate away at her skin and muscle, leaving her worse for wear. The premature celebration was short lived, the love he had nurtured for his team was all for naught, he failed them, he wasn’t enough. Sadness was mixed with anger and anguish as he fell to his knees, the small tears erupted into streams down his eyes, a single tear drop falling ever so slowly while the world remained motionless. The light perfectly refracting through the reflective surfaces to give it a crystalline glimmer as it hit the ground, turning into nothing more than a dark splotch. His clenched fist struck the earth crushing it, but leaving his hands battered and bruised. “I’m sorry” a low murmur could be heard, maybe only Kiku would be able to hear him. “I’m sorry” this time a bit louder, “I’M SORRY! I couldn’t do more, I wasn’t able to protect all of you. I don’t deserve to be a leader, but I’ll make this up to you. I’ll be better, be able to protect you all, this won’t happen again.” Standing to his feet the water all but dried up.

The light from the outside hitting the boys sacred ruby eyes that seemed to almost dance in movement when no other eyes could. The glistening and elegance was never seen before and yet they glowed as if his cadence and creed had activated them. Back to full power Shizuka snapped his fingers creating two wind vortex’s that lifted the two boys and carried them towards the scroll. As for the girl he personally made his way over and lifted the girl up into his arms once more. “I’m sorry Kiku, I never meant for you to get hurt. I’ll make sure your legs heal no matter what. I’ll find someone to fix them, just stay with me.” Shizuka with a half feint smile, masquerading his shortcomings with his positive aura. He took the team to the scroll where he gently touched it before they were spat out into the forest of death. It seemed medical ninja had already been summoned due to the severity of their exam. Shizuka ordered the ninja to take care of his comrades first, whereas he would simply wait and keep Kiku Company.

The image of their dearest departed friend seemed to have shaken the very core and foundation of the water trial ninja. The fat boy did serve to be quite the delicious appetizer for the king, but there was a little too much fat for him, he was trying to remain lean and make gains. It seemed the ninja were quite precocious and wet behind the ears to think they could challenge the underwater king in his domain. He was the yellow flash of the water compared to the sinking anchors that they presented themselves to be. Koma seemed to be by far the favorite of the group in skill and leadership, her level headed thinking and bolstering abilities seemed to manifest perfectly and work hand in hand with one another. The kunoichi acted quickly without second thought. A large sphere of lighting erupted from the small girl’s bow which swiftly clawed through the seas heading towards the Deep Sea King with no remorse, just as he had eaten their fat ally.

Without so much as flinching the Deep Sea King seemed to transform in a blink of an eye, the image couldn’t be fully captured since the distance was rather great between them. The king devoured the ball of lightning it quickly exploding in his stomach. A wall of undead appeared in front of the king as well taking the brunt of her flurry of arrows. Was the king dead? He laid lifeless upon swallowing what seemed to be her ace in the hole. The wall of undead parted open with an army of sirens flooding through the gates heading straight for the group of ninja. They would quickly tear through the clones until they reached their real prize.

Kaba seemed to be the next piece of the puzzle, rather intuitively he aimed for quite a different target than the rest, the queen. It seems as though he had already put the queen in check, all that was left was checkmate and they would be closer to victory. The queen hissed as she sent her two eels scurrying along to fry the boy if they could bite onto his arms or any open skin if they could. She herself tapped her throne as a massive clam swallowed her up, protecting her from the small barrier the boy had created. The undead army groaned as they formed human ladders that led to the boy, there attempts at grabbing his legs and pulling him under the sea of the dead would be decided on the boys reaction. Spears and arrows were also being launched at the boy.

As Koma and Bumu were busy with the slingshot of sirens coming for them they would ready their defense and attack. That was until they stopped dead in their tracks and dispersed to the side of the ninja. What could make the sirens part like that in such fear? Unbeknownst to the team the Deep sea king in all his glory had silently appeared behind the two ninja. The hair would raise on edge as they could suddenly feel his presence with his killing intent pouring out of him, but there was something different about him, he had changed.

“Did you really think I would die to one of your puny techniques human? I’ve been conditioned to withstand electricity. I train by being electrocuted by dozens of the Queens eels every day, the water is my steroid just as much as it is my domain. Now you will fear the deep blue sea.” The Deep Sea King’s jaw wrapped around the breathing tank of Bumu rupturing it in his mouth as he attempted to shake the fox with it. His other hand however went for a vicious punch aiming to obliterate the young girl.

Kyotoumaru Uchiha

Senna felt a slight flicker in the sudden demeanor change in Koibito, it was a strange sensation that was suppressed rather quickly. She knew this feeling, it was the same feelings she had towards Kyo, so for another to feel the same about her was quite awkward as she was already in a love triangle with her other teammate. Senna would keep the secret between her and Koibito, but give it attention no more as their focus would be solely the mission. Yet the boys comment and compliment made her blush quite well, she was always receptive of praise even if it was small.

“Thank you Koibito, I didn’t know all Uchiha were as kind as you are.” Senna kind of stumbled backwards a bit personally. She didn’t know whether Date’s comment was a jab or a compliment, either way it wouldn’t sit well with Kyo and she turned to face him and see where he stood, knowing full well his expression would be blank and lifeless. Kyo scoffed at the other two ninja remarks, it was quite weird being with other Uchiha that were just as abrasive as he was, he just concealed his more expertly. Kyo nodded to Date and began to sprint towards the tree line.

Breaking past the tree line Kyo’s sharingan was on full display as it picked apart the surroundings like a seasoned detective. More and more clues seemed to be slapping him in the face as if the challenge was insulting his intelligence. Was this really a test to see if he was a seasoned enough ninja to graduate or was all of this just a game? Regardless of what its purpose was Kyo continued on with his search for the scroll. The footprints seemed to fork in two, one pair of prints were easily visible and led in an easily traveled route of someone in a rush. The other set was feint and someone had been fastidious enough to cover their tracks and lead their pursuer to a dead end.

Kyo stopped and waited for his allies to catch up, glancing them over he opened his mouth, “What do you think of the tracks. I believe the ones that disappear are our safest bet to the person who created the tornado. I don’t think the test would be so obvious to trick us into thinking the other set is the correct one. In any case we can split up and check both routes, but I don’t know if we’ll receive penalty for choosing to send two teams. Let us behind here and now which route we choose, we can’t have a team divided.” Time was rather short and Kyo wanted to finish the exam as soon as possible, he could tell they were lagging behind.

It seemed like the time for diplomacy had much since past despite the young girls best efforts. She had the rightest mind of the team and the most amicable personality, but it was merely a blemish compared to the two teammates who foolishly let their emotions seep through the surface, especially the runt of the litter that was that mangy fox abomination. Although she did plea quite a great deal and it would have warmed up to the queen it was quickly torn asunder by that of the large explosions the fox had hidden in its sleeves or wherever the poor confused thing was. While her efforts to attempt a genjutsu in their natural habitat would generally fail, it worked due to the fact that the army and the queen herself were quite smitten at the sight of the rage of this furry lumpkin ripping through her poor pets. Why the queen was so disconcerted with the life of her fish was quite a telling question indeed.

It was a beautiful pink mist that floated gently down like a shroud of dust whisking you to sleep or rather the intestines and flesh of the aquatic animals that had tried to hunt down the humans and fox thing. The Queen seem quite enamored with the fox creature, she needed it as her pet and play thing. Oh how it wouldn’t get along with any of the orca’s or sharks. Reinforcements seem to spawn in droves and endless army of what seemed to be fish and mermen and fish men appeared in waves, quite the crucible for the small squad of ninja. “Oh child you don’t have to shout your name. Even the smallest and meaningless pets get names. You shouldn’t try so hard to be something you’re not.” Her voice carried through the waves as they cradled the ears of all who listened. It seemed more like a trifling game to her, prey inevitably trying to escape the hunter of the waters only to fall short and be consumed.

While she sat on her throne of pearls bemused by the little fox’s attempts and trigger her she hadn’t noticed the other ninja cloaked in genjutsu reaching for the scroll. The ancient and holy pillar erupted in a mass explosion as it was reduced to nothing more but dust with the only legible piece being a fragment that captured the word “Suijin”. The moment the shrine shattered something snapped inside the queen and all of the lost city. It was like a gunshot that was heard around the world, everything fell silent and the movements of the fish people had ceased in one synchronous moment. Something was very very wrong. Suddenly the sands under the water began to shift, small rattle, larger, larger until a single set of eyes began to glow. Quickly followed by a succession of eyes, from under the sand came and undead army unparalleled, human bones from centuries of travel fallen and laid to rest below the shifting sands.

Not only undead soldiers, but aquatic life emerged from the floors. Undead sharks with half their skin peeled off exposing the inter machinations of bone and pulsating organs, hammerheads and great whites all alike. However that wasn’t enough, the naiads from earlier and the merpeople had shed their skins and turned into ugly sirens of monstrous legend. Their jaws unhinging to increase the size of their mouths only to show dozens of rows of razor sharp teeth, eyes hollowed out to leave nothing but large black holes of darkness with no end, and razor sharp claws to slice men to shreds. In unison the sires let a harmonious screech that would cause the ninja to block their eardrums from being blown apart.

Who said beauty was only skin deep? The mermaid queen’s face simply twitched as he skin began to turn a dark grey, her once luminescent beauty metamorphosed into her natural appearance. While she was still beautiful she was no mermaid but queen of the damned, the queen of the sirens. Her two dolphins emerged as electric eels that scurried around her. Her sight turned from amusement to vindication. She would have her revenge as she sprang into action.

With all this talk of Queens and servants why had they not heard anything of the King of the Ocean? Was there no ruler or sovereign male figure to lead with an iron fist in conjunction with the queen? Oh he was there alright, only to be disturbed during his hunt would he hear the silent pitch that disrupted the land. With ferocious mach like speed the King manifested himself in the throne room in a matter of seconds. He returned from the hunt with a prize in his jaws, a half torn torso in his hand with an arm that lay limp, the body was quite familiar and could still be made out by the ninja. It was none other than their former teammate, the plump Akimichi, Chojirō. Throwing the body to the side for the army to feat upon he spat the bones that crunched in his mouth with the same disdain he had for the group before him. Wiping his blood stained mouth he tipped his crown revealing the real scroll underneath his gold laden hat. They had to get by him and fend off the armies coming for them before they could consider passing. “I hope you liked living fox runt.” The King grimacing at his next victim.

But wait there’s more! What about the scroll that they had confiscated from before? The young black ninja would take a quick glance only to see the scroll disintegrate into sand that slid through his fingers. Not only was the scroll a fake but the webbing from his arms and appendages would soon vanish as well, not before the gills on their throat disappeared. The same choking sensation would soon be met once again like an old habit. Fortunately for them there was still some semblance of hope on their side. It seemed the Hokage had fashioned together a few oxygen tanks and breathing apparatuses for the pair of ninja to survive upon. Unfortunately they had limited time to breathe and as ancient as they were only two of the three worked properly, the squad would soon have to divvy up their supply all while facing their impending boom.

Shizuka Ichimi

Konohagakure | Chūnin | Breezy-nin

TIME: Present Day - Morning | LOCATION: Earth Challenge Room | INTERACTION: @LadyinInk@Altered Tundra@Reflection

Shizuka’s focus was razor sharp like that of condensed air, there was no other way around it, his teammates were in just as much danger as they were. He knew he could count on them to take care of themselves as much as it pained him, he couldn’t turn his attention for even a moment or the life of Kiku, whom inherently inserted herself into his life, and the life of his own would be in mortal danger. Kiku’s sensing was enough to allow him real time updates of the other two’s situation. That was enough for him to satiate his fear. What would his mother or father do in this situation? That’s right they probably wouldn’t be here and if they were they would have demolished this fiend with relative ease. He wouldn’t be able to show his face to his parents or continue his adventure if he failed here or even worse, die. Shizuka lost sight for a moment as his attention transfixed itself onto the thought of his own funeral from his perspective as if he were the wind itself watching. Who would be there? Would Kiku be there? What kind of flowers would they bring? Would anyone bring a radio and play his favorite songs while drunkenly stumbling over his gravestone?

His mind wandered and would continue to until he had fulfilled his prophecy unintentionally, well that was before he was ripped asunder by a familiar touch. Forgetting that he had roped the lavender girl into his body; her arms wrapped around his neck. His mind seared for a moment relinquishing his attention once more, while he was transported back to the past when he was a wee lad, this was the same position his mother held his father in when they were still young nursing parents. What was it that they always spoke of? Why did they look at each other so longingly in this precarious position? ”Love” rippled through his mind hearing both his parents voices speak in unison. Love was a funny topic for Shizuka, he never knew the power or weight behind the words, but it was given to him unconditionally by his parents. He was lucky in that aspect since the world was cruel and unforgiving and most ninja never had parents or killed them, the sad reality of the world they lived in. He did know the words rang true with Kiku, although he might not understand the potential that the word carried his heart felt it when he was with her and he knew if you loved someone you would do anything to protect them.

”Bukijutsu” the soft serenade of her voice slowly easing him back to the real world permanently. His body being thrusted closer to hers yet again making him weak and flustered, a feeling he could still not hope to understand, but there was no time for that. She broke free from him, his attack not completely rupturing the beasts palm due to the incremental loss of chakra and power behind his abilities. Her extra umph was enough to destroy the blue aura palm of the mechanical titan sending it reeling. For a moment there was pure bliss between the two combining their might to destroy one fragment of the whole picture that was painted to be the behemoth. Her hand touched his shoulder but he quickly turned his body so his back faced her as he backed up into her. Her extended arm would meet the top of his shoulder while he crouched into her, his hands hooked around her knees while she fell forward onto his back. She would soon have to wrap her hands around his neck once more before blast off. Why was she in a piggy back position?

The golem retaliated in what seemed to only be considered as anger, if only a golem could have such sentient emotions. The platform they stood on would soon become a home for a momentous explosion. “Fūton: Haiso (Wind Release: Flight)” Shizuka said forming the hand seals behind his back. A second later the two were in flight as they rose higher and higher across the room and out of the danger that was the looming arm of the giant. This would be quite ideal to show a woman on a first date, it wasn’t a magic carpet and there was no spontaneous song about showing a new world, but it did the trick. A third of the room was transformed into a vat of magma, Shizuka’s wind senses feeling the depletion of the potency of his attacks, he was becoming too weak to continue on. They needed to end this quickly. Out of the frying pan and into the fire, Shizuka mounted the back of the giant having sensed encompass with Jaakuna and Kiku the major source of power for the golem. It’s stumbling from having lost a limb had bought them enough time to land unnoticed. Setting the blind girl down he focused on his next move.

Whispering in the wind to his teammates he carried the message that he had loss potency, but hopefully their fire or lighting would increase. And with it the dire need and time constraints to destroy their side of the palm while the two focused on the back. He turned back to the blind girl, “Okay cloudy eyes I’m gonna give this all I got. I’m going to use the rest of my chakra to enhance my blade with kenjutsu to pierce the shell on his back. After I do that I’m going to load the exposed area with paper bombs and watch it explode, with whatever I have leftover I’ll create a tiny room to condense the explosion and make sure it’s magnified. I need you to attack however you can too, I trust you Kiku.” The first time he said her name, “On the count of three….one….two…three…” Shizuka shouted before he unsheathed his blade running the tips of his two dominant fingers along the edge enchanting it with a condensed version of his samurai sabre technique. He left whatever residual chakra he needed to create a ‘room’ on the monsters back ready in waiting. With a ferocious howl he stabbed his sword into the carapace of the beast. With his arms free he quickly reached into his track suit and withdrew ten exploding tags attached to kunai.

As he threw them they all aimed at the small crevice created by his sword. During this time Kiku would have to make her attack however small it would be. “Sansoton: Seishitsu (Oxygen Release: Room)” His hands sped through seals like a violent wind as his vision began to blur and his legs buckled. In conjunction with Kiku’s attack the oxygen room he created would serve as a catalyst for a much greater explosion since it was so finely condensed. While the room formed and held around the tags and the sword, Shizuka had reached his limit. He turned his head to Kiku, forming a genuine smile on his lips before his eyes became too heavy and began to shut, he took his two fingers and bounced them off his head before falling backwards and collapsing, whispering “It’s all on you guys now, cloudy eyes.” Whether she would catch him or not, they both needed to leave the immediate area as the room would not hold once the explosion took place, he was no longer able to control it thus the room would violently erupt upon impact.

There was something about her smile that melted the wind walls that protected his heart, although it’s kind of impossible to melt wind, but regardless. Shizuka scratched his head looking for words to stumble and trip over, but they didn’t come out. What was worse was the fact he had almost completely forgotten about the large behemoth in front of them. If only he had a chicken and got the golem to attack it, that’d show him, never attack the chickens . Everything was happening so fast, Shizuka didn’t have time for an epiphany he had to focus. Slapping himself in the face he snapped back to reality when he heard Kiku’s master plan. Well rather than hear her he was up close and personal again. Andddd then his mind went back to step 1. There it was the sweet aroma of lavender, but this time it actually did its job and soothed the gentle whirlwind.

All he could do was nod before an adrenaline filled crooked smile found its way etched onto his face. Shizuka jumped and pushed his arms out letting a small, but strong gust of wind jet out from his palms. The force was enough to push them away at an accelerated pace, not enough to hurl them into their impending doom though. This was starting to get fun, Shizuka was an addict, he had an unhealthy addiction when it came to fighting. When the fights broke out he could ride the high for days. This was looking to paint a bad picture for the Golem once the breezy ninja was in his element, despite him being a shell of his max strength. Cold steel kissed his neck gently wrapping their arms around his neck.

Untangling the crux of kiku, Shizuka took the chained daggers into his hand before infusing it with his chakra. Combining his weakened samurai sabre technique and elements of the wind sharpening technique, Shizuka doubled the cutting power and durability of the weapon with a layer of chakra and an aura of win surrounding it. Spinning them wildly he let out a devilish laugh before releasing them at max speed, hurling towards the open palm of the golem. All while he could sense and slightly make out his teammate being blasted by some rather strange beam, which did no initial damage that would kill. As much as he wanted to help his teammates they were separated and had divided the attention of this massive killing machine. They had to fight their own battles and win their own wars.

In retaliation the behemoth shifted its spotlight like gaze at the two ninja, aiming its next attack at them. Raiton nets shot out at quite the jarring speed, the chain blades would however be able to slice through any ration that challenged it due to its augmented wind properties, however the two weren’t so safe from its wrath. Uneasy about the effects of his wind with his chakra drain, Shizuka wasn’t willing to risk the lavender haired heroines life, she had already sustained enough injury and she was doing all she could to defeat the beast. He had seconds to think, knowing she had no defensive jutsu to counter these nets. Shizuka sprinted towards the girl and wrapped one arm around her waist, pulling her closer in. “Heads up. Fūton: Kennai (Wind Release: Sphere)” With his free arm, his palm around the girl, his mouth, and his feet, Shizuka generated as much futon he could with his remaining chakra to create a massive Hakkeshō Kaiten to protect them from the incoming nets.

It seemed as though the ninja were taking the water temple for granted. While perceived as a genjutsu by the most apt minds, they would soon realize that it was indeed reality. There was one ninja who bit her tongue and confided in herself to not oppose or upset the leader of the waters they had almost drowned in. Although it seemed like the other two had ousted her and took their own approached to seizing the scroll. While amicable the loud mouth approach seemed as dull and forgoing as the foxes attempts to sneak an explosive tag into the shrine cloaked as a Shinto tag. Whatever path they chose would ultimately seal their fate, why none of them attempted to divide their attentions or use subterfuge was beyond the proctor’s wildest dreams. Alas we arrived at their crossroads and can only sit back and watch the fiasco unwind.

“I had it in good faith to treat you as my honored guest, yet you don’t bow to me as customary rules would suggest. You also failed to address me by a title and speak out of turn when I have yet to introduce you to myself and my fellow aquatians. It seemed the humans on the surface are just as despicable as the lot that casted you down. And don’t speak such shrill tone.” The mermaid queen said pointing her trident at the fox human. Dolphins swam alongside her glaring at the fox as if they were ready to take it to one of their rape caves. “I know what you are, you are no human so why are you wearing a façade?” Revealing Bumu’s cosmetic fallacy. “Many men and beings like you two have tried smarter charades than that shallow attempt at a peace offering.” Without any warning or inclination of her actions, her trident shot from her pearl bed and cut through the explosive tag and skimming the foxes cheek, sucking the blood from its cheek.

With the smell of blood on the waters, a ravenous pack of sharks appeared slicing through the waters at the backs of where the ninjas had entered from. “And to think I was going to grant you an opportunity to be an ambassador to our people.” The queen now pointing at kaba “The naiads here were quite found of you and your distinct skin color. It’s a shame that you won’t get to see the light of day. Boys fetch me their heads” The mermaid pointed before her battalion of fish men charged at the ninja. The sharks roaring behind them, while a feint whistle could be heard escaping the succulent lips of the mermaid queen. The rest of her entourage of aquatics came, killer whales, jelly fish, giant squid. She laughed and brushed her away quite majestically as her eyes laid their sights on the band of ninja.

FIRE SCROLL

Nu Suzaku, Keeper of the Light of Man

@Odin @Spanner @Project @j8cob
_________________________________________________________________

_________________________________________________________________

Suzaku rose from his seat of air almost choking on a grape that had passed down his esophagus. He wasn’t expecting the one shinobi to cast the rest aside and grab the scroll which would set his chakra ablaze. The amount of pain he was enduring was quite endearing, it seemed this ninja was heads above the rest. No doubt it wasn’t the reaction or the allotted time he thought it would take for this group of misfits to complete the exam. After all they were still a pretty broken squad if you asked him. It was an army of one, two at most if you count the one ninja who used a clone to draw out the secrets of the fire of men.

Suzaku’s brows furrowed in anger, his eye twitching in disdain, arms crossed under one another in contempt as he made his way down elegantly from his high horse. “It would have been a better challenge if you four all came at me instead. Oh how I would have loved to hear your scream as I murdered you one by one. Regardless it seems like your friend over here did what the three of you couldn’t do. You should be proud kid you have balls of steel, but you might want to go get checked out before the next part of the exams. Or else you’ll more than likely die. And that was with me going easy on you.” Suzaku rested his arm on the boys shoulder before getting closer, whispering in his ear “Next time you try that I’ll kill you” Laughing as he walked off and snapping his finger.

Suzaku vanished in an eruption of flames that quickly died out, but not before leaving the door open across the room for the so-called winners to pass through with their newfound achievement. A scroll with the emblem of fire was materialized in the hands or the waists of the newfound shinobi. Whether this signified they would move on to be Jonin was still yet to be decided, yet they had a rather good chance now that they had obtained theirs. Once they walked through the door they would arrive into the forest of death awaiting the words of the wise and confident Hokage, their pillar of strength. There was no way for them to invade another exam and try to reclaim another scroll so for now they had to wait as the first group to have accomplished the first exam.

Everything happened so abruptly, one moment Ginsho was reminiscing of the golden years he had spent and cherished with his wise friend Jaakuna Aka, and the next moment he was reliving the hell that was the memory of the night he perished. "I'm so sorry... Gautama." Those words didn’t really connect in his mind, or was it the denial that was preventing them from invading his dormant and repressed memories? "I'm so sorry... Gautama." Those words seemed to be stuck on repeat in his head. There was no one, and he meant no one who knew that nickname, well except of course for his dead best friend. Dead, not living, not breathing, and not holding a conversation in front of him passing off as an illegitimate son. Ginsho saw it with his own eyes, seijuro’s ghostly hands ripping the life out of Jaakuna as he sacrificed himself to seal that monsters fate to his while they both struggled in hell for eternity, it was his fault his friend had died.

The pain was too much, it manifested itself once again into his phantom limb, this time it was a bit too unbearable to keep his face or body from reacting out in public, he needed shinko he needed him now. And what did he mean he was going to set things right? His mind was racing and it wasn’t a good sign there was already too much chakra pouring out of him. That was until a calming waved passed through his body and with it a smack to the back of his head. It was a feeling that was all too familiar, Namine. The other kindred spirit that made up the three great Sannin of the Leaf village arrived in as always, unintentionally provocative fashion. Namine was different, she liked to keep to herself and enjoy her peace and quiet but she also came off as a very strong woman who could also carry herself in conversation, she didn’t need anyone’s guidance but her own and people seemed to flock to her instead.

His head still bowed in silence, Ginsho let out a shallow laugh and put on a smile, his heart had still been struck, but the irony of Namine punishing him like old times was bittersweet. “Will you knock it off already, my eyes were looking at the monitors I was staring at the guy. And how come you didn’t enter before and tell me when he was here. I’m sure he would have loved to see you.” Ginsho grumbling to himself as she elegantly made her way to open formalities with the two other great leaders.

“Is that right? You’re also getting weary in your old age Kaza-san. It’s a shame I might have to move to Iwa and run in competition to you.” Namine retorting back to the white haired flamboyant ninja. The isolated queen of the rain seemed quite distant to the other three in the room, the gap in power and leadership shouldn’t outweigh their positions this heavily. Namine could feel the uncertainty flowing from the Amekage, although she bit her tongue and left her to her own devices as she made her way out. “Take care of yourself Yogensha, and call me for that ladies night.” Namine said hoping it would give her some semblance of reassurance.

“Oh farwell my lady, I hope to meet your acquaintance rather soon again. Don’t be a stranger. You’re welcome back any time regardless of how big or small the land you rule over is. Have a blessed day.” Ginsho waved at the solemn beauty before she made her exit. “Alright how do we explain what just happened?” Ginsho turning a tone a hair more serious.

“Well if you didn’t know or couldn’t feel it. I’ve been sensing hostile and malicious presences since the start of the exams. I’m sure you knew it too, but Seijuro is back and our friend with him. I don’t know how or why, but this isn’t safe for the exams we need to cancel them right away before someone get hurts. Kazayatsu, I assure you would oversee the safe return of your ninja?” turning to include the Tsuchikage into their conversation.

“There’s no need to create panic or end the exams. The ninja are almost done and I can take care of this myself or with the help of one of you two, while the rest stays here and watches over the students with Shinko. The less Seijuro knows about us being onto him the better, I already lost too much to that demon. I will see this through to the end, I have a score to settle, I won’t be as so kind and foolish as last time. I have to live with that every day.” Ginsho said grabbing his arm.
