@ZeroCuero Yessir.

@ArenaSnow Well, that's a shame. Hope you enjoy greener pastures, wherever you may find 'em.
@Burning Kitty Nice sheet. I'd just ask that the History be made a little longer. Also, what are we talking for max strength on the force shield? And you mention she's very intelligent - how does she apply this intelligence? Is she a skilled Chemist? Physicist? Scientist Supreme?

@ArenaSnow What makes you say that, if you don't mind my asking?

@Sisyphus Yep, you're clear to move her.

@ZeroCuero I dig it. Welcome aboard.
@ZeroCuero It varies mission to mission. Sometimes they're assigned to capture someone and drag them back to base for a 'fair trial' in a Kangaroo Court. Other times, it means being deployed to murderalize the shit out of someone.

@Cuccoruler I dig it! Only have one complaint, and that's the skills section. Is his only notable skill that he's got a pretty good intuitive understand of Construction? He doesn't know how to fight any better than a regular person or anything like that? If he doesn't, that's okay, but I wanted to clarify. Also, if you prove yourself to me in RP, I'd totally be up with upgrading you with a few more Odin powers.

@Dusty I really like him! Seems ripe for growth as a character. Only problem is the equipment - to what extent are his arrows specialized? Are we talking really just Explosive Arrows, or are we including things like Boxing Glove arrows, splinter arrows, etc.? Also, before each engagement, I think I might want to go over what gear specifically he specially packs for each engagement. Also, how strong are his explosives? About how many can he bring per fight? Are they set-and-forget explosives, or grenades?

@MonkeyBusiness Yep, I'll PM you shortly.

@Black AliceI'll make sure to keep it in mind.

@Sisyphus Accepted! Also, you're looking for Private there on Identity. A public identity is more for someone like Luke Cage.

@Ghost QueenHmm... I'm willing to accept that, but I'm gonna ask for some heavy restrictions. Like, only once in a while, can't be used on other PCs without permission, etc. That much kelvin is a lil too much to be flinging around wily nily.
There is one true constant across all worldwide metahuman activity. More than any consistent powers, faces, or conflicts. That constant is…

It’s been twenty years since the dawn of the age of Metahumans - by most people’s reckoning, anyways. Metahumanity has become a staple of life. Go to work, school, pop by the store, see Jimmy down the road, and watch some shitbag catch a jet airliner in the face on live TV.

Still, knowing a Metahuman personally is rare - the chances for Metahumanity are calculated to be, roughly, 1-in-a-million. But they more than make up for their low numbers in bodycount.

The first ‘superhero’ anyone can remember is a fellow by the name of War Child. Powerless himself, War Child decided it would be a great idea to stop Bank Robbers by firing an RPG at them. While they were inside the bank.

The world is fixated upon the duels between immensely powerful Heroes and Villains, but few care about the destruction their battles tend to leave behind. Metahumanity has become one of the single most destructive forces on the planet. Some argue the destruction is unfortunate, but necessary, to stop the “bad guys” from causing even more damage. Others beg to differ.

Welcome to Collateral Damage, the Superhero RP that concerns itself with as much action and mayhem as possible in and around New York City. The idea here is to have a sandbox environment where the players will craft their own stories - though I do have a few grand-scale plots up my sleeve.

The tone that is being shot for is, broadly speaking, fun but violent. Battles will be huge, explosive, and have a large price tag associated with clean up. Some degree of realism is expected, although many times, things will default to Rule of Cool. That said, I still expect some honest role playing, instead of someone that runs around blowing shit up 100% of time.

@DocTachyon did you read my PM about my char?

I did, and it looks a bit too strong for this setting. I'll go over it with you when the OOC goes up.
The OOC will be up sometime tonight. I'm sorry for being largely absent, this week has been particularly busy for me as I have a large research project I'm working on.
I'd be down. I do have one question though, would this similar to a Civil War situation?

Not really? At least, not at the start. It *might* descend into that later, but it's early days enough that I'm not making any promises.

@DocTachyon Well if its any consolation, Spiderman(Or any control hero, IE Hawkeye, Starlord, ext...) is her direct hard counter with how I have her weaknesses and powerset designed. But shes able to beat Thor and Hulk to a pulp. I can send you a PM with a character sheet I made for another RP that didn't get off the ground if you want.

That sounds... Interesting. Definitely send that PM.
I'm into this. Though theres a character I like using that fits this RP. Would someone with a Super Strength/Regeneration powerset be a bit much?

I'm pretty sure that'd be fine. But we'd need to be very clear with each other on the limitations. I'm thinking about a Spiderman-ish power level for the RP, but negotiations can be made.

@DocTachyon
What about an Hero that got tired of the life and is just trying to stay under the radar and are inevitably forced back into the fold?

Sounds pretty cool, dude.

Interested. I love deconstructed superhero tropes - has OP read/seen Watchmen?

I read the book when I was younger, and about a year ago I watched the movie three times in as many days, which probably wasn't a good idea. Been meaning to reread it, actually.

Probably going to wait another day or so to see if we drum up any more interest before I get around to posting an OOC.
"Been some twenty odd years since metas started popping up. Frankly? I'm getting sick and tired of it.

Sure, sure, you can say that the heroes balance it out. 'Supersonic defeated Dr.Metamorpho just last week!' you say. Tell that to the twenty people Supersonic liquefied when he was running to the fight.

Look at any source, and it all says the same goddamn thing. Metahumans are the most destructive force this planet has ever faced. They beat out any stat. Metahuman activity worldwide in the last year alone beat out death tolls from terrorism, natural disasters, and suicide, combined. If that isn't a problem, then I don't know what the hell is."

-Senator Joel Alvarez(R) to the Secretary of Defense

Welcome to Collateral Damage. This idea is borne out of a lot of things, including Matt Fraction's run on Hawkeye, The Boys by Garth Ennis, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Hardcore Henry, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Essentially, what I'm trying to strike here is a more 'realistic' superhero story, in that superhero combat as depicted in the comics, and recent movies such as Man of Steel and The Avengers is highly destructive.

As far as tone goes, I'm looking for what I can only describe as the bastard lovechild of Guardians of the Galaxy, Hardcore Henry, and Kingsman. Your character would be able to be a superhero, villain, or part of a Governmental Anti-Cape squad. There would, of course, be copious amounts of violence.
