Theran Kar ~ Hawkman

Metropolis ~ Little Bohemia

The city was peaceful enough for the moment, the only trouble Theran stepped in to stop was a runaway monorail earlier that morning. The Thanagarian was still not quite used to being called Hawkman, but the citizenry seemed hellbent on calling him that. In fact, Theran even tried to explain to the populace that he was not the man they thought he was. It was to no avail, the humans must have been desperate to have one of their fabled Justice League members miraculously return. Theran didn't care for the idea of stealing another man's name, but if calling himself Hawkman gave the Earthlings some manner of hope, then who was he to take that away?

The moment's peace was ended abruptly when a large sphere came crashing out of the sky, seemingly out of thin air. In it's downward fall the object nearly crashed into Theran, but the Thanagarian was fortunately quick enough to roll his momentum out of the way so as to avoid being flattened. He was quick to use his wings to correct himself again in midair, "What in the name of...?" Theran started to demand, but noticed the object's crash course and his eyes widened underneath his bird-like mask, "No!" he called, nosediving as fast as his wings would allow him. The object was barreling right for a bus full of people. Theran wanted to reach it first and get those people out of harm's way, but he simply wasn't fast enough.

The spherical object made it's explosive impact, practically obliterating the bus and Theran wasn't fast enough to stop it, "Hasn't the people of this world suffered enough?!" he shouted, practically giving a warcry as he made a b-line for the spherical object, "Who do you think you are?" he demanded, brandishing his Nth metal spear and already going to work on the sphere, trying to pry it apart or punch his spear through, "Dropping out of sky with no warning and killing the innocent bystanders who happen to be in your way, don't think you won't pay for this! Haaaah!" he kept bashing and thrusting, hoping the nth metal weapon would be enough to break open whatever this thing was. At last, the Thanagarian made an opening.

"Come on out you - robot?" Theran was momentarily confused. Inside the machine was... another machine. Well, the one inside had a vaguely human shape, but was clearly made of metal and electrical parts. It had to be some kind of robot, but it was nothing the winged alien had ever seen before. Of course, he also noticed the gun the mechanical thing brandished. Perhaps it was indeed looking for a fight? No matter, Theran thrust his spear forward anyway, hoping to skewer the thing before it could do anymore harm. The Thanagarian trusted that his nth metal breastplate would be enough to keep the gun from harming him.

At least he isn't some cultivated clone like unwanted offspring of Frieza :P

This interesting the Nux Squad now has 2 frieza clan members. It will be amusing with interacts between the two I would think.

It has "dick-measuring contest" written all over it if you ask me. I'm just waking for one of them to off the other all game of thrones style.
Roy shot Light a look, "That's Arsenal." he said, trying to correct her. It was too late, though, she'd already said his name and there was no taking it back. Perhaps it wasn't a total loss, though. The green-haired fellow did say he wanted to help. It wasn't the most favorable of circumstances, but Roy couldn't afford to be picky about recruits right now. He lowered his bow, even stowing away the arrow he'd drawn before reach up and switching off his voice modulator. That thing was mainly meant to be used as an intimidation tactic, but in this instance that wasn't necessary.

"I'm Arsenal," he started, then added with a slight roll of his eyes, "but as my partner here blurted out, my name's Roy... Harper." it was a risky move giving his full name to someone. The Justice League weren't the only heroes who had their identities compromised by Anarchy. The Titans did as well, and that included Roy himself. His former identity as Speedy and Red Arrow were just as much public knowledge as any of the others. That was the primary reason he invented his Arsenal identity, so he could get a fresh start, "That's Toon Girl." he said, gesturing toward Light. If she wanted to give the stranger her real name, that would be her decision to make.

"If you're telling us the truth, then today's a lucky day for the both of us. I was just telling my partner here that we needed to expand our operations. Or in layman's terms: we're recruiting." at this point he started walking and assumed they would follow. It was about time they went somewhere more secure to talk, and that meant heading back to base. The base was... well, Roy only needed to let the place speak for itself. He led them through the sewers awhile longer until they wound up at an abandoned subway station in the Bowery. The station itself was not the base, there was in fact a vault door hidden behind a false wall that Roy re-purposed. In it was shaft leading deeper underground. At the bottom of the shaft was another hatch, this one lead to what could only be described as an underground town.

"Welcome to Wonder City." Roy said to Nuke, Light having already been brought here once before, "Not many people know that North Gotham City is built on top of this place. The ones that do know about don't seem interested in it anymore, so I figured it would make a good enough place to lay low and out of Anarchy's reach." around the city were oriental markings carved into walls and pillars, "You can ignore those markings. The League of Assassins used to have a Lazarus Pit here, but Batman destroyed it a long time ago, so they're not coming back. No one's been using this place but us."

"Speaking of Batman..." Roy said, recalling Nuke's earlier question, "...he's the reason why the name Wayne is important. Bruce Wayne was the man under that cowl. He and his company both work for Anarchy now." Wonder City had a number of different amenities and shops within it. They made for good places to turn into living quarters and other such functions. Roy had re-purposed one of the souvenir shops into what he called a "War Room". It housed an oblong table surrounded by chairs, the table itself had a map of Gotham spread across it along with assorted blueprints and schematics for various famous buildings like Wayne Tower or Monarch Theater. The wall looked like it was designed by a conspiracy theorist, covered in photos and newspaper clippings connected by threads of various color to indicate who was connected with what, with Anarchy and his company at the center of it all. This was the room he led the others to.

"I wasn't kidding about expanding. We need more help. Even with three of us, we're still small potatoes compared to Anarchy," he grabbed a nearby notepad and scribbled something in one of its pages, "We can't rely on the heroes anymore. Just about all of them work for Anarchy now. I know a few... alternative choices, but contacting most of them will be difficult, and getting their cooperation will be even harder than that." he dropped the pad back onto the table and turned it around for them to read. Many of the names on that list were rather famous - or infamous, as the case may be. The list included individuals like Deathstroke, Calculator, Deadshot, but also a few odd heroes here and there as well. Most of them were villains however, or at the very least, mercenaries whose loyalty would probably need to be paid for or traded for in some way.
Wait, you were waiting on me? Sorry, I've been playing the new pokemon game and was waiting on Unknown to post there double since I had already posted right before that guy.

Actually, I was the one who posted just before Skinner. Unless you mean the one before that?
The others are in Gotham's sewers. Not sure if they'll come out soon, though.

I suppose you could be at the lunar colony, in the tourist section, if you want to interact with my people. I could have Terra will meet you instead.

Um, isn't Terra currently dating the guy he blames for his problems? Not sure it's a very safe idea for her to meet him.

Well, I was waiting to see if @Archmage MC wanted to respond before I posted Roy's response, but if he's MIA I guess we can skip him for now...?
@Letter Bee Considering Seth just peaced out like a troll and left Hakim with the assassin, you may want to consider consulting with @supertinyking to figure out how that little match up goes. Otherwise, I'm kinda just waiting for @Rex or a general GM post to move things forward.
@Hillan@Holy Soldier@BladeSS4@Double@vancexentan

Hmmm, think I should make another post since I suspect you guys have this issue of not having action?

If you want to get technical, Nero is still training in the gym waiting for someone to give him new orders. That's kinda what he does.
@The Kid Lantern At least Atom's in a position where you don't have to really do anything to write him out. Last time we addressed him he was guarding the knocked out Baroness and waiting for a pickup. So writing him out from there should be pretty simple.

EDIT: Is this game still holding everyone's interest? I only ask because there's only two posts since my last. I'm not gonna @ tag everyone and be a nag [wouldn't notify anyone in an edit anyway], but if this one burned out we can call it.

~KL~

I am burned out, but not on the game. I feel like Atom may have been a mistake in hindsight. Robots aren't usually my kind of thing, and while I thought I could Atom an exception to that rule, instead it seems I have failed. I mean, you know what my usual jam is (Magic or traditional Metahuman) and I wonder if I would have been better off sticking with that? I seem to remember pointing out a while back that I missed a grand opportunity to play as Zoom... maybe I should have gone that route?
I would assume D.C. is a safer bet if only because the Hall of Justice and JSA can be found there, but I'm cool with any location.
